Yesterday, I had the opportunity to read an article by Nemesis (pseudonym) in Rumor Mill, here's the link and copy of the content, I find myself in a few categories, what do you think?.

Subject: Just a regular person

I used to think I was just a regular person, but…I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a racist. I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a fascist.

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I am non-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class and an ally of big business.

I am a Christian or a Jew, which now labels me as an infidel. I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which now makes me a member of the vast gun lobby.

I am older than 70 and retired, which makes me a useless old person.

I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me, which must make me a reactionary.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes me a xenophobe.

I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and our military, which makes me a right-wing extremist.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I (and most of the folks I know), acquired a fair education without student loans (it’s called work) and minimal if any, debt at graduation, which makes me some kind of odd underachiever.

I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland for and by all citizens, which now makes me a militant.

Please help me come to terms with the new me… because I‘m just not sure who I am anymore! I would like to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, new found changes in my life and my thinking! I just can’t imagine or understand what’s happened to me so quickly! Funny…it’s all just taken place over the last 7 or 8 years!

As if all this crap wasn’t enough to deal with…now I don't know which restroom to use!

Too Funny, Deega!! I DO hope your healing is progressing well! There is one thing we older people have & that is the experience of a lifetime, which would be different in each case! A gold mine for younger ones who might want to take advantage of what we have learned along the way!! :sun:

Hey thanks Foxie Loxie for your sincere concern, Yes!, I think that I'm very lucky, doing pretty good up to now, hope it stay that way.

Unfortunately, Governments of our Modern World have not yet find a way to transfer experience and knowledge to our youth, such a loss!

Best to you!

I too feel this disconnect from society as of 2008.

I feel marginalized - although I chose that margin.

I feel irrelevant - but I always did.

I feel like time has moved on without me - but I decided to be in charge of time.

I feel unsuccessful - but I determined the value of life.

I feel like the only one awake - yet I slept through the first forty years of my life.

I feel like the old generation - which I am.

I feel like I don't belong - but I never did.

I feel abandoned by my god - but I am far from Sourceless.

I feel cheated, disabused, misunderstood - those are consequences of my choices and the cost of autonomous intellect.

I feel demoted - all licenses now officially revoked.

I feel insecure - while insurance of all sorts is legislated into my wallet and forced down my throat.

I feel weak - under the force of ignorance.

I feel small, insignificant and useless - offering expert services without validation or proper compensation.

I feel tired - there is no respite in this world

I feel defeated - but I am much too stubborn to accept it

I feel hopeless - my skills under-appreciated, my talents insufficient.

On the other hand:
I am self-sufficient
I am creative
I am unique
I am clever
I am brilliant
I am resourceful
I am indefatigable
I am indauntable
I am powerful

It is the world's loss

has become about people controlling people thinking it's thier OWN idea , making other people responsible for what an individual feels , politically removing the triggers that lead to a deeper healing and an actual EMPOWERMENT, as we heal the vulnerabilities that have been historically exploited

Ha ha!! Cynicism <3

This reminds me of a book called "The optimist pessimist guide to the millenium", if you think this is humorous as I do, get your hands on that one for some serious eye rolling!

One of my rules is "don't judge anyone" - I think it's a good rule :)
