Thank you, and blessings to all who are passing through.

Reminded me of this...

http://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj550/DoodlemakerUK/Spirit%20Lion_zpsl12fw4zh.jpg

Every Warrior of the Light has felt afraid of going into battle.
Every Warrior of the Light has, at some time in the past, lied or betrayed someone.
Every Warrior of the Light has trodden a path that was not his.
Every Warrior of the Light has suffered for the most trivial of reasons.
Every Warrior of the Light has, at least once, believed he was not a Warrior of the Light.
Every Warrior of the Light has failed in his spiritual duties.
Every Warrior of the Light has said ‘yes’ when he wanted to say ‘no.’
Every Warrior of the Light has hurt someone he loved.

That is why he is a Warrior of the Light, because he has been through all this and yet has never lost hope of being better than he is.

Lovely thread; thank you.

I would like to add this variation to Paulo's creed:

Every Warrior of the Light has said "no" when he wanted to say "yes".

I find, as I age and mature spiritually, I am less afraid of saying "yes" to the experience of being here.
How brave and how beautiful it is to stand in the light of one's truth...

I must say, that triggered something within me. I thought I was about to have another flashback, that was a rather odd and new sensation!

This is my personal, updated version of a Warrior’s Creed that I’ve consciously lived since the 1970’s. Growing up it was a work in progress. (as I understand it now.)

Hmm my warriors creed sounds kind of pathetic and US centric compared to this....
https://sites.google.com/a/okee.k12.fl.us/okeechobee-high-school-jrotc/_/rsrc/1382990887678/about-jrotc/soldiers-creed/soldiers-creed-plaque.jpg
I guess I'm just (in reality) a corporate thug, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise, though I still feel some pride in it (the parts that don't mention the US... haha).

I've always felt this was closer to my personal interpretation, to what it really is to be a warrior:

Thank you Bill. A real reminder about who we are and why we are here.....such wisdom :) Lovely to hear your voice :)

And I echo/resonate with many of the other thoughts within the thread. I don't seem to manage to show up here often, but even so, I hold you all in my heart.
It is so important to remember we are all joined together, even though we are working in different ways, and in different parts of the planet.
with love, Angel of the Mists

"The Warriors Prayer"

"I am what I am in having faith in the Beauty within me I develop Trust"
In Softness I have Strength
In Silence I walk with the Gods
In Peace I understand myself and the World
In Conflict I walk away.
In Detachment I am Free
In respecting all living things I respect myself
In dedication I Honour the courage within me
In eternity I have compassion for the nature of all things
In love I unconditionally accept the evolution of others
In Freedom I have power
In my individuality I express the God force within me.
In Service I give what I have become
I Am what I Am:
Eternal, Immortal, Universal, and infinite
And so be it.......( by the Late Stuart Wilde)

I participated in Stuart Wilde’s “Warrior’s Wisdom Seminar,” in Taos, New Mexico, 1990. It included an outward bound and fire walk. Powerful seminar...

This was the token given to those who completed the outward bound part of the five day intensive. On one side it says “I am What I am,” the other says, “Warrior’s Wisdom.” On my walks I listen to "The Warrior Creed" (video below). It's the same one he played back in 1990.

Thank you, Brightstar for the "Warrior's Prayer! WOW, Paula....Firewalking!! Now that must have been SOMETHING! :flame: Sounds like that was a terrific seminar you attended!

Yes, it was life affirming and unforgettable. The day began @ 4:30 a.m. If you were lucky you got four hours of sleep. We were divided into groups of ten and stayed with the same ten.

Some activities were: blind fold stuff, trust exercise, i.e., falling from tree into arms of the group, fire walk, sweat lodge, snakes, lectures and etc.

One activity was each of us was dropped off in the woods at night on a snowy mountain. You had no idea when they’d come to pick you up. We were instructed not to bring watches, flashlights, music or technology. No food or drink. It was December and lots of snow. We were told to dress warm and no wandering too far because you may become disoriented in the cold and dark. It may be as long as a couple of hour or all night. It was the hardest activity for me because of the unknown time frame. (control issues; shhhh.)

For the fire walk, the first step was the most surreal. My heart raced even after the finish line. No blisters or burns on my sooty feet. Then next day, the runway was still smoldering in places. I tucked two chips into my power bag. When my son died, I put one of them in a power bag that I made up for the next leg of his journey.

The only activity I choose not to participate in was the telephone pole climb. I had just finished the tight-rope challenge and was emotionally and physically exhausted. I hate heights higher than I am tall. For the tight-rope exercise, you’re hook into the safety gear. You climb the tree and the walk across. There’s a rope attached to the tree to help with balance and get you moving, but you soon learn it’s only about five feet long. The metaphor was ‘let go’. So I did. That’s went I became aware of the wind through the mountains and how my jelly legs made the cable go all wonky.

I freaked but wouldn’t quit. For the life of me, I don’t know how I sat down on the cable without falling. From there, I walked my a$$ and hands across the cable. At one point, I asked the tribe if I was almost to the other side. I must be right? By their remarks I knew better. I wasn’t even half way across. The instructor said I could come down if I’d like. He!!-no! My goal was to ring that cow bell. I did. Though there was another challenge. In order to reach it, I had to stand back up.

How you get down is you “leap”. The instructor swings you wide and slow...down, down, down. B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! My heart busted open. I busted out in sobs. I hugged myself most of the way down. Hours later, the whole back of my upper legs were different colors of black, blue, red and yellow. It was a lotta weeks before the soreness and bruising healed. Only three out of the ten in our group chose to do the tightrope walk. The cold, wind and snow added to the challenge that day. When all was said and done many of the 10+ tribes didn’t complete the outward bound portion of the seminar.

What kept me going was, relatively speaking, past life challenges were greater. The secret was to keep on keeping. You don’t have to see too far in advance. Sometimes, all you need is one foot in front of the other. (Or if need be hand-a$$-hand, hand-a$$-hand.)

Thank you, Foxie Loxie. We're powerful beings. Everyone has inner strength but many forget to nurture it.

It’s a choice to be the keeper of expanding cognitive awareness and perspective and knowledge, and time spent clearing out beliefs that keep one anchored and bound. This cost nothing. You don’t need to go far, wide or high to discover the richness within. The secrets are itching to be discovered. It’ll be a smoother transition for those whom consciously partake.

Ready or not here it comes. The double shot of juice that flows out from others to the galactic counter parts and most importantly, tap the elixir within.

Yeah! Bout time… We’re getting to the good stuff.

I agree Foxie. Paula is right on. And it should be shared, even if to those of us posting, upon a quick review of what we've written, recognize that we are stating the obvious, or repeating something well known. It can't be stated enough, especially when it is colored with our personal experiences.

Who knows how important shared cognition is to those who are not active participants on this forum, but whose energy is still shared by those of us who write here. If we are anything beyond the words written here, AND WE SURELY ARE..., we feel the effect of the perceptions of others we share with.

I have the habit of first seeing my part in the whole and my whole in the part of the narrative we are talking about. I do see myself as very different but at once the same, sensing the need to share those things that should be, and most often turn out to be, common in our collective realities. I know this from talking enough to be able to prompt and then hear the stories of others. In many moments of shared realizations we find a great sameness in our perceptions, our experiences and our intentions. I have then gained much and lost nothing in the process.

Thanks to all here who share and those who work in an apparent silence by reading. A Warrior's Creed involves a duty way beyond the sense of self, as the self is defined to us as the journey with others.

By the way, it is totally cool, correct, as least from this one man's singular view, to spend your entire time here alone. You may or may not gain all you can in the process.. and we all may or may not be the better off for the singular focus.

What many do not state, which is obvious when going deep inside, but often hidden from our shared comments, is the power of singular contemplation and living. Why does anyone ask, or even put a moral judgement upon a soul who walks alone. If you have been deep within... "alone" is most often experienced as an illusion, a delusion and not possible. In my experience of alone I gain the gift of responsibility and interaction, not separateness. If it is possible then, at least with me/from me, enjoy the journeys!

:horn: WELCOME 2018!!!! :clock:

A poem by Marianne Williamson

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure!
It is our Light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you NOT to be?! You are a Child of God!
Your playing small does not serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do!

We were born to make manifest the Glory of God
that is within us!
It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone!

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same!
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence
automatically liberates others."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't forget to go back to the beginning of this thread & read through ALL of it to gain some wonderful wisdom shared one year ago!! :cheers:
This reminds me of a story told by Joseph Campbell, about a samurai charged to find and kill a man known to be spreading lies. Upon cornering the now terrified and desperate man, his target stands as tall as his rattling bones allow, and delivers a glorious wad of spit into the samurai's face and armors. The Warrior feels everything you or I would, but stays his killing hand at hip. He speaks to the criminal, evenly and calmly. "You will die without the false dignity you attempt to rob from me, by lowering me to your station with your filth. Next time you see me, please have prepared yourself as a man would." Then he left.
