US sends special forces to RUSSIAN BORDER as NATO is poised to strike back against Vladimir Putin’s ‘aggression’
Russia is reportedly deploying nuke-ready missiles in the province of Kaliningrad which borders Lithuania
Tensions between Washington and the Kremlin have reached Cold War levels amid reports Vladimir Putin is deploying nuke-ready missiles in the Russian province of Kaliningrad – which borders Poland, Belarus and Lithuania.

And Lithuanian Defence Ministry spokeswoman Asta Galdikaite confirmed America has offered additional military support following Russia invasion of Crimea.
She said: “The United States was the first to offer additional safety assurance measures to the Baltic countries following the deterioration of the security situation in the region after the annexation of the Crimea”.
She added: “US Special Operations Forces presence in Lithuania is one of the deterrents” against military threats by Putin’s aggressive regime, reports the Express
Speaking with the NYT, US military chief Gen. Raymond T. Thomas revealed that America has a ‘persistent’ presence in the Baltic states bordering Russia.
He added that many former Eastern Bloc countries are “scared to death” of Russia and that the vulnerable states are “desperate” for America’s leadership.
The US and its NATO allies will send battalions of up to 1,200 to each of the three Baltic states – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – and Poland by spring this year, reports the NYT.
Lithuania’s foreign minister Linas Linkevicius confirmed Russia’s military activity in Kaliningrad is terrifying the region.
He said: “Iskander missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads have been deployed. There are S-400 missiles and modernised jets.”
Linkevicius branded Russian behaviour in the region “military hooliganism” and called on NATO to take action and offer more support to beleaguered Ukraine.
He said: “Russia likes to create problems, conflict and then suggest some ideas how to mitigate, how to mediate - and some of our colleagues say ‘look they are cooperating’.”
In November, Putin’s naval forces unveiled their latest super-stealth submarine which has been deployed in the Black Sea – as a shocking new report revealed Russia is ‘taking over’ the region.
Kremlin bosses promised Russia would never allow the sea to become a “NATO lake” and they firmly believe the military alliance would crumble if, as feared, the Americans pull out.
Relations between the out-going Obama administration and Russia have soured following allegations that Putin ordered the email hack which helped scupper Hillary Clinton's presidential bid.
The White House has since expelled 35 Russian diplomats and has shut down two 'spy' compounds in New York and Maryland in response to what it claims is a campaign of harassment by Russia against American diplomats in Moscow.

This claim that America is about to strike at Russia....
...seems to be a sensationalist Sun headline,
not something that Obama, sorry, 'Barry' has declared.
There's a plague of fake news going round.

If Clinton had won WW 111 would probably be a very high probability , the neo-
con/dem agenda was/is continuous 'proxy' or direct wars . If NATO did get involved
then that would be difficult not to escalate. There is a possibility Obama may
do something stupid , but I hope they will not. When I saw McCain and Graham
in Kiev a few days ago I thought something could be 'brewing'.....

What a car crash of an article.
And Lithuanian Defence Ministry spokeswoman Asta Galdikaite confirmed America has(d?) offered additional military support following Crimea voting to be Russian.
She said: “The United States was the first to offer additional safety assurance measures to the Baltic countries following the deterioration of the security situation in the region after the CIA orchestrated coup in the Ukraine”.
Does that read a little better?
The Sun is one of the worst papers in the UK for printing rhetoric and spin, and, shock horror, fake news. Not saying this is fake but the first sentence indicates this could be a quote from quite some time ago. The quoted General also implies that there is always a US presence in those Baltic states and could be perhaps read as 'nothing new'?

What the media says, many times does not mean anything. The various claims and statements that someone is reporting is not the same as what the presidents actually say recorded on audio. You also need to have an objective translator for the Russian language.
Has anyone got any of this recorded on audio/video?!
But McCain's words on camera were obvious: 'peace is secondary'. If there is an act of aggression/violence or similar towards some country by another country, it is up to the rest of the world to respond, so in this case it is now also up to the rest of the world to also respond to McCain's act of official war like stake being presented.
BTW. What exactly has Putin done near the Ukrainian border, does anyone have any evidence of anything, or is everything kept secret/confidential?!
It appears to be the same old war drum being drummed, a drum that needs to be silenced for good.
Peace is what we must focus on, do not let this stuff distract you too much...

US could go to war with Russia in next 20 days : Don DeBar
jNPSCN7LebA
Published on 1 Jan 2017
The United States is facing the real possibility of a war against Russia before
January 20, when President Barack Obama leaves the White House, according to an
American journalist and political analyst.
Don DeBar, a radio host and TV commentator based in New York, made the
remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Saturday while commenting on the
Obama administration’s recent hostile actions against Russia.
On Thursday, Obama announced a series of economic sanctions against Russia, as
well as expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats, over allegations that it interfered in the
2016 presidential election through cyberattacks.
Moscow has rejected the US accusations as "unfounded," and vowed to retaliate. A
spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Moscow
would consider retaliatory measures to the sanctions. But on Friday, Putin decided
not to expel US diplomats in reprisal for the Obama administration's moves.
"I can't stress it enough -- we are facing the real possibility of a war against Russia
in the next 20 days, before Trump takes over. I don't want to scare anyone but
that’s what’s happening, unfolding in front of us,” DeBar said.
“It’s the leadership, whoever has the levers of power in the United States, now
wants to confront Russia aggressively and under the threat of military force,” he said.
“The force even has been deployed for a better than a year and half to the borders
of Russia from the Balkans to the Korean Peninsula really; and there have been war
games ongoing across the front whether in the Balkans, in east Europe, or in the
South China Sea,” he stated.
“Objectively speaking if one is looking at American foreign policy as being rational
expression of American interests a war with Russia is insane, even looking at it
from the point of view of the interests of any human being on the planet regardless
of what they might think their interests are, the war with Russia is a major
catastrophe,” the analyst emphasized.
“Nevertheless, there must be someone at some point at some position inside the
league here that makes policy, that sees threatening Russia with war, and perhaps
moving towards war with Russia as a viable strategy because it is being done
openly,” he noted.

Note that Kaliningrad is an exclave: it has no physical border with Russia and is surrounded by those other states. Has a fairly interesting strategical history with regards to the previous war with Germany, and is also fairly important for being their only ice-free Baltic port. As such, I would expect them to load it up with all sorts of high-grade military hardware.

Another day, another provocation. Obama & NATO send Special Forces to the
Lithuanian/Russian border saying it is because Russia has position nuclear-

puts more credibility on WikiLeaks revelations than CIA briefings? And we look
at how the Washington Post has been richly rewarded for its fake news as
WikiLeaks offers a $20,000 reward to prevent Obama from ‘destroying US
