UFO caught on vid by teen in New Zealand

A teen took interesting video footage of UFO in New Zealand. Although the reporting website seems a bit dodgy, the info seems clean enough (a closeup of the ufo is clearly a drawing, but its put next to a pic from the vid). Here's some text from the article:

Josh Marshall, 16, quickly got his camera out and took a video of the weird apparition on a stormy Wednesday night. He claims it "sort of just appeared" when he was at his friend's house about 9.20pm.
Josh said: "I'm not sure what it is but it's not a plane, it's not a star, and not a satellite.
"I've got no idea what else it could be. It was quite cool to watch."
Astronomers have ruled out that it is a planet – it has baffled experts
Josh watched it along with his friend's family until about 10pm, when clouds came over and covered it. The object did not really move, but the stars seemed to move around it, Josh said.
Footage shows the UFO getting smaller and brighter in Blenheim, New Zealand.

Hi LadyM, does the New Zealand ufo look anything like the one your husband saw?

My husband says yes. What he saw was a red orb with white on the outside. Although my husband's photos show two lights, he thinks it was one object.

Interesting, LadyM, same night (probably 12 hours apart) on opposite sides of the world, similar looking ufo's.

From infrared footage i've seen on the web, it showed a ufo mother ship launching a half dozen saucer craft, likely scout ships. My guess is that these two craft could be from the same mothership.

Ufo's are frequently seen near storms, which some hypothesize is to pick up energy. So the ufo in New Zealand was sitting stationary in a storm was possibly energizing.

The question is what was the ufo doing near your place. Because your husband sensed it and had dreamed about a similar craft before that, i wonder if he's subject matter for them. They dont sound hostile so i wouldnt worry, tho, its probably just scientific interest.

We did not have any storms in the area, but when I went outside with my husband to look I saw a single cloud move in over the area of sky where the UFO was (at 45 deg angle looking south, south-east) seen just moments before. My husband had no fear at all, before or after, he just thought he was going nuts. He's a US Marine veteran and has 20 years of experience in law enforcement. So, he is used to seeing all sorts of crafts -- planes, helicopters, drones, etc.
