Obama’s Executive Order – Entry Denial (aka under the same MSM spin rules “Latino Ban”)

How many folks here are aware of the EO enacted by former President Obama in on January 12, 2017, just eight days before Trump's inauguration?

President Barack Obama is ending the longstanding "wet foot, dry foot" policy that allows Cubans who arrive in the United States without a visa to become permanent residents, the administration announced Thursday.

SOURCE and spin (http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/12/politics/us-to-end-wet-foot-dry-foot-policy-for-cubans/)

Guess what the result was of this executive order? Well I can tell you not because I saw it on the news, not because I read it on the web, not because someone told me about it… I experienced the result live and in person at the Miami International Airport on Friday, January 13, 2017. There were at least several dozen Cubans being held back… just like what has happened with folks who are traveling to the US with passports from the seven countries noted on the list – a list of which six of the seven countries were created by the Obama administration - Trump’s team added Syria to that list. There were families waiting for their loved ones to be let through just like I was waiting for my wife, Cristina, and my step-daughter, Alejandra, to be let through. In fact, my family has spent the last three years working on the legal immigration to the US for Cristina and Alejandra which I will post about soon.

This post is meant to point out again how the MSM (other than FOX News in this case) spun Obama’s EO in their attempts to justify the action and how the MSM didn’t pick up the story with anywhere near the fervor you see in the case of 109 folks who have traveled back to the US and were held back for additional vetting (just like was happening with the Cubans)… note: all but a few dozen of the 109 have already been allowed through (as of this writing... early Monday morning US time, January 30, 2017) and unless there’s a good reason to prevent entry of any of these individuals, I would imagine all will be allowed through. I sat next to two gentlemen who had been waiting several hours for one individual and who told me that they were aware that the word is that folks could be expected to wait many hours, could wait a dozen or more hours and in some cases, it was possible the individual would be refused entry. Both of these gentlemen worked for a relief organization that provided assistance to Cuban refugees and part of that assistance was to meet them at the ports of entry.

Note: I was born in the US and am a US citizen and travel under a US passport have dual residency with Curacao and when I lived in Panama I obtained legal residency in Panama. I have always followed the international travel protocols, obtained visas when needed and obtained residency when I would move to a new country. I did this out of respect for each countries laws and I did this so that never would my sons, my wife and step-daughter would ever have any issues related to their presence in any foreign country. I can ensure each and every individual here, all these other countries have their own laws and their own policies and guess what? Sometimes those laws and policies change, sometimes the protocols change and sometimes they change instantly. I know this as I have experienced this. In fact, a procedure change in Curacao caused my wife and I to remain apart for an entire additional year. In fact, to resolve the matter is a story unto itself but I am saving that for another set of posts. Back to the point here.

There are notable differences in both Eos. One is that Trump’s EO effected current green card and/or visa holders that are traveling from one of those seven countries or who are attempting to enter the US under a passport from one of those seven countries. The Cuban “wet foot, dry foot” policy was focused on refugees who fled Cuba and set at least one foot (literally) on US soil. Yet if I used the same protocols as is used by the MSM I would have blasted “Latino Ban” outrage all across the headlines. I would have been working hand in glove with professional protester financiers to stir up rage in the zombie followers so they’ll increase the protest ranks 10 fold. I would have US Senators crying on TV. And the list goes on.

Now I ask any clear and free thinking individual... is the “selective coverage” acceptable? Is the actual outright lies related specifically to Trump’s EO spewed by the MSM (aka "the Elite Media") acceptable? Is the twisting of the actual truth (as has been done with the effects of Trump’s EO) to the degree this has been done which results in a massively distorted belief by a huge segment of the world population acceptable?

Bannon did indeed state it correctly –

Here’s a very fair analysis and opinion on Bannon’s comments from Howard Kurtz.

It is quite curious all these msm stories of outrage of halting refugees, etc. from war torn muslim countries. Madonna's gonna do a protest song. Pro athletes disapprove. Software companies arent gonna be able to cope. Etc., etc.

Where is the msm outrage regarding the american arms used by isis/daesh? What about the outrage of how the clinton foundation got donations from qatar and other arab states while killary was secretary of state which preceeded the sale of american arms to those arab states which 'inadvertantly' found their way into daesh's arsenal?

Where's the msm outrage about america's own economic refugees, the armies of people who are homeless or on foodstamps? Why doesnt madonna write a protest song about that?

Why is there no msm outrage about the multi trillions of dollars unaccounted for in the pentagon's budgets? What about some outrage over out of control black ops projects that have goodness knows what tech and who's employees face execution for whistleblowing?

Where's the msm outrage about the poor quality of american food? Toxic pesticides, hormones, steroids, gmo, etc. have poisoned the food chain, and no one can legislate wording about gmo contents. Where's the outrage about that?

Where was the msm outrage when the iraq weapons of mass destruction failed to materialize?

Where was the msm outrage (let alone research) into the cia funded, fascist backed 'orange revolution' that ousted the democratically elected president of the ukraine that lead to the ukrainian civil war and russia's annexation of crimea?

Where is the msm research into the source of the civil unrest in venezuala, surely funded by the american intelligence agencies as per the strategy outlined in 'confessions of an economic hit man'?

Outrage, crap! Betya Soros's funded friends and 'causes' are producing this 'outrage' fake news.

It seems endless spin and fake news rule the day.

The Bush and Obama Administrations can bomb the people in 7 countries for 16 years but Trump can't restrict their immigration to the US for 90 days -- quite some logic and morality there.

Also, Trump's Executive Order never mentions 7 countries, just Syria --- but what are the fake news outlets reporting?

"Trump didn’t select seven “Muslim-majority” countries. US President Barack Obama’s administration selected these seven Muslim-majority countries.

The Department of Homeland Security targeted these seven countries over the last years as countries of concern. In February 2016 “The Department of Homeland Security today announced that it is continuing its implementation of the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 with the addition of Libya, Somalia, and Yemen as three countries of concern, limiting Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals who have traveled to these countries.” It noted “the three additional countries designated today join Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria as countries subject to restrictions for Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals.” It was the US policy under Obama to restrict and target people “who have been present in Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, at any time on or after March 1, 2011 (with limited government/military exceptions).” This was text of the US Customs and Border Protection in 2015 relating to “the Visa Waiver Program and Terrorist Travel Protection Act of 2015“. The link even includes the seven nation list in it: “Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Somalia or Yemen.” And the media knew this back in May 2016 when some civil rights groups complained about it. “These restrictions have provoked an outcry from the Iranian-American community, as well as Arab-American and civil-liberties groups, who say the restrictions on dual nationals and certain travelers are discriminatory and could be imposed against American dual nationals.”

It was signed into law on December 18, 2015, as part of the Omnibus Appropriations Act of FY2016."
