Reactor 2 sets a new record of measured radioactivity. It´s unbelievable 530 sieverts per hour. Just to put this in an understandable relation: If one is exposed to 10-20 sieverts than one will be 100 percent dead in about two weeks. If one is exposed to 50 Sieverts than one dies with a 100 percent Chance not later than in an hour.

Here you see the outher protection Shell of Reactor 2. Which was told before to be still intact.

It reads:
The radiation level in the containment vessel of reactor 2 at the crippled Fukushima No. 1 power plant has reached a maximum of 530 sieverts per hour, the highest since the triple core meltdown in March 2011, Tokyo Electric Power Co. Holdings Inc. said.
Tepco said on Thursday that the blazing radiation reading was taken near the entrance to the space just below the pressure vessel, which contains the reactor core. ...

yeah, that is inside the containment vessel,, you know the thing that "contains" the radioactive material?

and how did they measure it?

Tepco said it calculated the figure by analyzing the electronic noise in the camera images caused by the radiation. This estimation method has a margin of error of plus or minus 30 percent, it said.

Uh.... sounds like a guess to me... not an actual measurement.

at least they found the fuel and it didn't "sink into the earth" or anything.

I'm not so sure how this is news... they are nuclear reactors that haven't been cleaned up yet.. of course they will find radioactive material.

Never heard of such a high reading ever. Even if it could be 30 percent less.

The 530 sieverts reading is just an estimate. It's too radioactive inside to get the equipment close enough to get a proper reading.

530 sieverts, even as an estimate, is extremely high. Clearly Reactor 2 has melted down (as the alternative media has been saying since day 1, but covered up by TEPCO and ignored by the MSM). The melted corium is somewhere underneath the reactor, probably exposed to the water running underneath the complex, which is going straight into the Pacific.

http://enenews.com/record-high-radiation-levels-at-fukushima-plant-gaping-hole-found-under-containment-vessel-officials-now-admit-its-highly-possible-that-melted-fuel-leaked-through-concern-over-radi

It's likely that Reactor 1 and 3 are in a similar state, but they're not telling us about that yet.

In this scenario, removal of the corium is basically impossible, because its under the ground and too radioactive to approach.

The best strategy is entombment, like Chernobyl, but this will be much more difficult in Fukushima because we are dealing with multiple reactors and the question of how far under the ground the corium is.

Remember that at Chernobyl the authorities took very quick action to drain the water and put a concrete floor underneath the reactor, underground construction. Many people died to build that floor but it was essential to contain the reactor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_liquidators

Fukushima is an on-going disaster, made much worse by the fact that the situation has been covered up and the necessary actions have not been taken. It's similar to the "extend and pretend" strategy for insolvent banks and companies, but with more catastrophic environmental consequences.

The 100 times greater release, was only the initial radiation release. Whereas Chernobyl was relatively contained, Fukushima was not. Plus the spent fuel storage at Fukushima is orders of magnitude more radiation with the potential to be released.

So 5 years later, we can finally realize how little danger radiation poses, I agree.

That is not to mean that radiation is completely harmless, however, Fukushima in my opinion was politically motivated and has achieved the desired results in Japan.

Seems like it's just a "boondoggle"; lots and lots of money floating around for "clean up" and they haven't even touched the reactors yet.. just dirt and water (radiation levels are too low in what they are cleaning up for the effort to be anything but meaningless).

So far the clean up is now estimated at $200,000,000,000. (http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2016/11/28/national/cost-fukushima-disaster-expected-soar-%C2%A520-trillion/#.WJXZtPJuOFg)

I don't know for sure that it was purposefully caused (I don't know that it wasn't either)... but the above is certainly an eye opening figure.

"Hot" fusion is just another centralized management technology.. "free" or not it will be controlled by a central authority and I have issues trusting those... I'd rather have distributed power (like the solar panels on my roof!); I think distributed everything is the future of "freedom".

What makes you think there was an IRAN - JAPAN relationship? that's a theory I haven't heard before.

Unimaginable Disaster: Japan Declares Crisis As Fukushima Reactor Begins Falling Into The Pacific Ocean And Radiation Soars To The Highest Levels Ever Seen.

The latest developments at Japan’s Fukushima reactor have been described as “unimaginable”and “unprecedented”. Officials state that damages at the reactor are “far worse than previously thought”. Melted fuel has come in contact with underground water and the melted core appears spread over an “extensive area”.

Radiation levels at the Fukushima reactor have also soared to their highest levels since the 2011 disaster. The radiation levels inside the containment vessel of the number 2 reactor at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex stood at 530 sieverts per hour, the highest since the 2011 disaster, the plant operator said on Thursday. Previously the highest radiation level monitored in the interior of the reactor had been 73 sieverts per hour.

The new radiation level, has been described by some experts as “unimaginable,”. These are record high fatal radiation levels, according to the institute.

Another truly unsettling revelation about the Fukushima problem came as a boss revealed 600 tons of fuel melted, and they can’t find it.

“Uncontrollable fission” is continuing under the site.

Hell Hole on Earth Discovered at Fukushima
Published on February 9, 2017

It would be comforting, to say the least, if the reports that are minimizing the dangers are true, but I am not convinced, nor are others, such as Dr Sircus, Fairwinds, etc.

Most people think they have to die to go to hell but that is not true anymore. Today, in the mainstream press, they announced the existence of a hell hole in Japan at the destroyed nuclear power station at Fukushima. We have a hot spot on our planet that has never been imagined before and in the face of it human technology is helpless.

At the levels of radiation now being found a Fukushima, a robot would be able to operate for less than two hours before it was destroyed. And Japan’s National Institute of Radiological Sciences said medical professionals had never even thought about encountering this level of radiation in their work.

The accident is enormous in its medical implications. Through future years, too long to contemplate, we will witness an epidemic of cancer as people inhale the radioactive elements, eat radioactive vegetables, rice and meat, and drink radioactive milk and teas. Year by year, decade through relentless decade, the radiation will build up yet modern medicine does not seem concerned.

New readings at Fukushima have recorded the highest radiation levels seen since the triple core meltdown that occurred in 2011. Readings inside the containment vessel of reactor no. 2 are as high as 530 Sieverts per hour, a dosage that would be fatal dozens and dozens of times over if a human were to be exposed to it. The previous high was a still very fatal rate of 73 Sieverts per hour.

The blazing radiation reading was taken near the entrance to the space just below the pressure vessel, which contains the reactor core. The highest radiation levels ever measured at Chernobyl were 300 Sieverts per hour; an incomprehensibly high dose which can kill a man almost instantly.

Learn a system of medicine that is safe, simple and affordable! Discover Dr Sircus Natural Allopathic Medicine »
The new record at Fukushima of 530 Sieverts per hour is 70% higher than that of Chernobyl. The 530 Sievert reading was recorded some distance from the melted fuel, so in reality it could be 10 times higher than recorded, said Hideyuki Ban, co-director of Citizens’ Nuclear Information Center.

To put this in perspective, radiation is usually measured in thousandths of a Sievert, called millisieverts. For example, most people receive around 2.4 millisieverts per year from background radiation, or only 0.0002739726 per hour.

According to the Kyodo news agency, the institute estimates that exposure to one Sievert of radiation could lead to infertility, loss of hair and cataracts. One Sievert is enough to cause radiation sickness and nausea; 5 Sieverts would kill half those exposed to it within a month, and a single dose of 10 Sieverts would prove fatal within weeks.

How Come We Do Not Hear More about Fukushima?

It was just recently said that, “It is not every day that a U.S. president calls journalists among the most dishonest human beings on earth.” This dishonesty is displayed in its full power with nuclear power issues and specifically with Fukushima where things are so bad it is basically prohibited to talk about it openly in the press. In fact, as I was reading the essays on Yahoo about the record amount of radiation the essays disappeared off the news summary list.

Most of this radiation is being washed out to sea and it is quite quickly destroying the Pacific Ocean and much of the life in it. We have no idea how much of the radiation is escaping into the atmosphere but we do know that during the first few weeks of the nuclear accident, because of the explosions, huge amounts of radiation were released into the atmosphere and it circled around the globe especially in the northern hemisphere.

There is no way for anyone to say that having a point of output of radiation of 530 Sieverts an hour is safe or how many decades it will take a radioactive output of this magnitude to badly pollute our precious world. None of this is good news for our children. Anyone who says nuclear power is safe is lying. Anyone who says nuclear radiation is not dangerous is lying.

They Don`t Want to Say Where These Clouds are Coming From

Researchers have discovered the existence of high-altitude “radiation clouds that can expose airplane passengers to high levels of radiation. These clouds were discovered as part of the NASA-funded Automated Radiation Measurements for Aerospace Safety (ARMAS) program.

It’s widely known that radiation levels are generally higher in the upper atmosphere versus on the ground, simply due to the higher levels of cosmic rays. However, when studying these levels of radiation, researchers detected small pockets where radiation levels suddenly spiked, up to double the normal level. These spikes could not be explained by normal sources of radiation like cosmic rays. Frequent flyers, and first trimester fetuses may be at greater risk due to their longer exposure times or greater vulnerability.

How Come Doctors Don`t Say More About Radiation Dangers?

Because they are among the primary users of nuclear radiation, using it for all kinds of dangerous tests. A single CT scan of the chest is equal to about 350 standard chest X-rays. They are using radiation, a cause of cancer, to try to treat cancer and that usually does not turn out too well. Because they are not honest with themselves they cannot be honest with their patients, who should be told that many of the tests they are being given by doctors expose them to more dangerous radiation.

Like global warming, vaccines and now Islamic terrorism and immigration, there is no real discussion, no real science being sported in the news so the public is left completely in the dark about radiation exposures. The people with the real power in this world insist that we will always see and define the situation as safe, no need to worry or do anything like drink lots of iodine, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium and start off each day drinking a glass of ultra-pure edible clay. Edible clay is one of the most basic detoxification substances. It helps make sure absorbed radioactive particles pass through instead of into us. When was the last time you remember your doctor telling you to take magnesium or any of these other substances, or even sulfur to reduce the risk that our exposure to increasing levels of radiation do not lead to cancer.

One Year Ago

RT Russian News reported, “Deadly radiation levels of up to 9.4 Sieverts per hour have been recorded at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant – enough to kill a person in less than an hour if directly exposed, local media reports. The mortal radiation reading was taken in a small room, using a remote-controlled robot. The reading of 9.4 Sieverts (Sv) per hour was taken during the September 4-25 checks. Immediate radiation exposure around the Fukushima nuclear power following the deadly incident reached 400 millisieverts (mSv) per hour in places. One millisievert is a thousandth of a sievert, therefore the new 9.4 Sv reading is 23.5 times higher than the radiation level recorded in March, 2011.”

The operator of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant says levels of radioactivity in underground tunnels have sharply risen. Tokyo Electric Power Company has detected 482,000 becquerels per liter of radioactive cesium in water samples taken from the tunnels on December 3rd. That’s 4000 times higher than data taken in December last year.

Officials revealed that about 2 Trillion becquerels of Fukushima radioactive material flowed into the ocean every month during 2013 — “Deadly strontium” releases are now more than double cesium — “Strontium gets into your bones… it changes the equation.” Strontium is a potentially lethal alkaline earth metal poses the biggest immediate concern, because, unlike cesium, it doesn’t get trapped in soil and tends to accumulate in bones of fish and animals if ingested.

Everyone wants to forget all about Fukushima

Everyone wants to forget all about Fukushima for who wants to remember their worst nightmares? The Fukushima nuclear plant meltdown disaster “is not over and will never end,” warns Dr. Helen Caldicott, Nobel Peace Prize nominee and holder of 21 honorary doctorate degrees.

It was reported by Andy Gunderson during the first year of the Fukushima meltdown that people on the west coast of the United States and Canada, Hawaii and Alaska were bearing some of the worst of the radiation and people then, and now, are not taking evasive action. Gunderson said in an exclusive interview with Chris Martenson that, “I am in touch with some scientists now who have been monitoring the air on the West Coast and in Seattle for instance, in April of 2011, the average person in Seattle breathed in 5-10 hot particles a day, depending on how active they are.” This means even if Fukushima disappeared today we should already be treating ourselves and our children for exposure.

Conclusion

Dr. Brownstein writes, “If there is enough inorganic, non-radioactive iodine in our bodies, the radioactive fallout has nowhere to bind in our bodies. It will pass through us, leaving our bodies unharmed. It is important to ensure that we have adequate iodine levels BEFORE this fallout hits.”

Everyone should be making sure that they are taking enough minerals because radioactive substances mimic their non-radioactive mineral substances. Strontium mimics calcium, for example, making it extremely dangerous to all life forms once it is absorbed. The toxic substances such as Tritium, Cesium, Plutonium and Strontium are being carried everywhere by winds, rain and ocean currents, entering the food chain through seaweed and seafood, building up high levels of toxicity in the fish – and humans – at the top end of the consumption chain.

Fukushima is Japan’s and the world’s radiation nightmare that will not go away in our lifetimes nor our children’s or grandchildren’s. The Fukushima nuclear power plant is hemorrhaging radioactive toxic waste into the ocean and though we are told not to panic, nor even to be casually concerned, the situation is dangerous and critical to future life on earth.

Radiation level in Fukushima No. 2 reactor measured higher, now the estimate is 650 Sieverts an Hour. See first post what this means for humans. They sent in another Robot. They had to cut a hole in the protection Shell to do so. There goes the Theory that the protection Shell is still intact. The Radiation is now so high and lethal that the Robot had just a lifespan of two hours. The used Camera was only able to withstand about 1000 Sieverts and died bevor 2 hours in the Job. And yes TargeT, that´s another estimation but it came out higher than the first one.

The road to decommissioning Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant’s No. 2 reactor could be rockier than expected, as radiation levels on Feb. 9 were even deadlier than those recorded in late January.
Tokyo Electric Power Co. announced that day that radiation levels inside the reactor were estimated at up to 650 sieverts per hour, much higher than the record 530 sieverts per hour marked by the previous survey.
A camera made its way inside the reactor's containment vessel for the first time on Jan. 30 and spotted fuel rods that had melted into black lumps in the nuclear accident in the aftermath of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami disaster.
The plant operator made the latest estimate from the amount of camera noise experienced by the robot that ventured into the lion’s den that morning.
Equipped with a pressure washer, the machine was deployed to pave the way for the Sasori (scorpion) robot that is set to survey the reactor’s interior in greater detail.
The robot’s task was to hose down melted fuel and other substances as it traveled along a rail measuring 7 meters long and 0.6 meter wide connecting the outer wall of the containment vessel with the reactor’s core. It started operating from a point located 2 meters from the exit of the tunnel bored into the side of the vessel.
But about two hours into its journey, in which it had progressed about a meter, the camera footage started getting dark, TEPCO said. The amount of radiation emitted by the melted fuel may have taken a toll on the camera’s well-being.
As the robot could be left stranded inside the vessel if the camera broke down completely, the utility called off the operation seven hours earlier than scheduled and retrieved the device.
TEPCO analyzed the footage and concluded that the doses amounted to about 650 sieverts per hour, which is deadly enough to kill a human in less than a minute.
As the robot’s camera was designed to withstand a cumulative dosage of 1,000 sieverts per hour, the utility commented that “it’s consistent with how the camera started to break down after two hours.”
The plant operator plans to deploy the Sasori surveyor robot before the end of February.
“We will be assessing the amount of deposits and debris to decide how far Sasori can advance,” a TEPCO official said.

, now the estimate is 650 Sieverts an Hour +/- 30% (what if it was +? I'm sure they had to figure it was, that's why they only ran the drone for 2 hours).

Why mention what it would do to humans?? That is why we have "containment vessels".... gawd, the fear porn is strong with this topic STILL.

The inside of a combustion chamber hits over 1,000 degrees, do you know what that could do to humans?!?!?!

One death (heat exhaustion, iirc) & 6 years later and they are still kicking this can down the road..How about some measurements from outside the containment vessel, like where "people" could be?

I'd be satisfied with a measurement from 10 feet away from the building..

You won't see that however, because the measurements will be barely above background radiation I'd wager... sorta like when this thing first went down 6 years ago ;)

There's going to be a tricky bit of clean up work on those reactors, but nothing anyone should worry about (unless they are still hiring "street people" for clean up work).

Sigma, I completely forgot about the water car they were going to introduce in japan, I remember that announcement and thinking were finally going to evolve, then nothing was ever heard of again. So you may have something there. And Onawah thanks for that post with the info. So the one reactor core burned thru the bottom and is now contaminating the ground water which in turn spills into the ocean non stop every single day and night. There was an interview on caravan to midnight last year where the woman scientist said as it stands as of last year.......................................................................................... her evaluation was that the amount of radiated water entering the pacific ocean every 2 days was equivalent to the size of lake superior here in Michigan and that this would continue for 30 years. This may be a wild idea but what about playing classical music under the water all around the reactor area and have signs of love posted everywhere. It changed the water crystals from that Japanese scientists experiments from polluted to pure. This may sound far fetched but so is the extreme radiation and right now I would say everything should be looked at.

If it's contaminating the ground water (I doubt that) it should be measurable.. in the ocean right there... so why are there no measurements? (there are measurements, and they show that everything is "normal" (https://phys.org/news/2016-07-pacific-ocean-fukushima.html))
FYI: The ground water on my island is 80 feet deep... the core may have dropped out of the containment vessel, but at "650" sv it's not far,, certainly no more than 2-10 feet deep, probably not in the ground at all.

Except that was just more "junk" science,, not true at all (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masaru_Emoto), you cannot change the way water forms crystals by writing words down near the water. (another great example of why you don't blindly trust "authority" figures)

No, I haven't tried, but I read his experiment, there were basically no controls & I've read about other people that tried to re-create... seems pretty much like it's crap science.

Fair enough. I have never tried it either, perhaps there is more to the power of belief than we give credit. 'Faith can move mountains'.

I can tell you when I am making my re-mineralised (distilled) water and I imagine sending 'love and appreciation' to the water all the hair on my arms and neck stand up, so etherically speaking, something is going on.

And Wiki is well dodgy if it is a contentious subject. Lloyd Pye told me himself about his problems trying to edit his own entry with updated facts. They were deleted every time. It does lean to a mainstream view quite markedly.

Correlation does not equate to causation.

However, if it works for you, do it.. I "embed" (via focused intent, mantra & "rubbing it in") good luck into my knife which I always have with me, (steel/iron is supposedly great for absorbing intention) and it seems to work....

Remember: the double slit experiment's outcome changes based on what you are looking for (measuring for), BUT it's limited to wave / particle... no matter HOW much you want it to, it will never come out dragon.

I figure the same applies to reality.. Intention does matter but it still is bound with in the rule set of "reality" (though I obviously still hedge my bets.. just in case).

To refute information solely based on it's source is a very common logical fallacy.

With in the Wiki page there are several sited studies (those are what I read) but it's all nice and concisely listed on the page so it's a good source for "ease".

I think most crowd sourced knowledge is far superior (this forum for example).... but then I also think everything should be crossejust I

Just for some reality on radiation levels here in Colorado, south of Denver.

Using a gamma ray scintillator (TOTAL COUNT) calibrated in counts per second..

Sitting on a high snow bank (having gathered snowfall for 4 weeks average) at two feet up from the ground (should have accumulated anything from the sky capturing dust and concentrating it) - 69-70 cps

Background count in the air pointing up, about 55; 5 cps higher than normal, not significant.

Reading directly sitting on the soil about 80 (soil tends to have high Radon and uranium/thorium naturally in the Rockies).

All in the relatively normal range for Rocky Mountains.

The accumulated concentration in the snowbank is slightly elevated over the pointing the scintillator crystal directly upwards.

Two weeks after Chernobyl lit up, background reading with the detector pointed UP was 150-180 Counts Per Second, and didn't decrease for about 4 weeks to normal levels of about 50 Counts per Sec.

So currently NOT seeing anything significant drifting down from Fukushima here in Colorado (6000 foot altitude there abouts)..

Detector system:

http://www.ntanet.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/radiation_Detection_scintillation_detectors.gif?f0dcd7

http://www.ntanet.net/how-do-sodium-iodide-scintillation-detectors-work

The frequency or signal count rate displayed is the intensity of all gamma ray energy above the present threshold.

The detector crystal is a sodium iodine thallium activated NaI cylinder of dimensions 38.1mm x 38.1mm, giving a total crystal volume of 0.0431m3.

The instrument recorded gross "TOTAL" count only for all gamma rays of energies above 0.05 meV. It is shielded in an aluminum case, so it will not pick up alpha or beta particles.

Example - Denver Colorado from October 2016 thru February 2017

http://www3.epa.gov/radnet00/images/gammasum/denver-gammasum.jpg

Divide by 60 for CPS (values shown are counts per Minute) - Denver currently is showing total accumulated background rate at about 80 cps

If there were HIGH values, lasting for any appreciable length of time, that would be noteworthy..

==update== as of today 11 Feb 2017, the counts per second reading is 66 in Denver. LOWER than yesterday even. That is ridiculously safe. Normal background for the region.

But how trustworthy are readings from the EPA?

But how trustworthy are readings from the EPA?

They match my readings perfectly. I see they also match other's independent readings perfectly also with whom I correspond. I have no reason to believe otherwise.

Does that include the West Coast?

San diego, Colorado, Wisconsin, Tennesee, and DC area match based on my associates readings as well as mine. If anything EPA readings are slightly HIGHER than private readings from equipment. I assume that is because the detector that the EPA uses is more sensitive (bigger detector) than us civilians have. Go and click on each of the blue dots in the link - https://www.epa.gov/radnet/near-real-time-and-laboratory-data-state and plot your own charts across the country, west coast, central and east coast. There are even detectors in the Caribbean.

the problem isn't the measurement, it's the way the numbers are interpreted.

the "no exposure" mentality.

Some things to consider relating to Fukushima:

1. It was an old GE reactor design that takes a long time to shut down, not that it mattered. There are more of them next to the ocean just waiting for a big earthquake.

2. The dungeness crab season was cancelled last year. My source said it was radiation. Starfish are dying off. The delicate species will disappear first. My most favorite king crab is at risk. Tuna prices are way down on the Tokyo fish market. At this rate the Pacific ocean will be dead quite soon. How many people depend on the bounty of the Pacific to sustain themselves? Can we say very effective populatiion reduction scheme?

3. All signs point to whomever inhabits this planet in 50 years will have to live in a much greater radiation environment. Alice Bailey stated that too.

There is no high exposure being reported by ANY of the US detectors, in ANY of the States; the amount of radiation is minimal, and the only trace showed up a signature of Iodine 131 which matched the Fukushima reactor, and that was early on when it first had the accident. There has been no elevated Iodine 131 showing up since in the detectors run by the US EPA.

The stuff from the Fukushima reactor is not reaching the US borders. Keep an eye on the EPA detectors, there are individual citizen detector pages also for those who don't believe the US monitoring stations, btw..

Note IODINE 131

Iodine 131 is a radioisotope with a very short half-life of 8.02 days, making it highly radioactive.

Frequently used in small doses in thyroid cancers therapies, it is also one of the most feared fission products when accidentally released into the environment.

It disappears FAST. It tends to be an indicator of "release" dispersion for any reactor accidents, as is Cesium 137 also an indicator, but Cesium 137 has a half life of about 30 years.

Maybe Japan can call Rick Perry head of EPA to see what an expert would do...

Madrid quakes always hit during solar minimums, I'm sure Perry's brilliant mind has seen fault lines are where most American nuke plants were built and is moving spent fuel and waste to safe locations...

The data my Dear and most astute friend, Rocky :) was produced before Mr. Perry took office, and has been being recorded and published for quite some time, back before Chernobyl.. You can read the computer generated data yourself and plot out graphically what increased when and where.. Please look at all the blue dots and report to us would you?

I don't believe Mr. Perry has anything to do with the topic of this thread, nor with anything of Fukushima's events happening in Japan, nor could he set policy over there. That Fuku's group bought shoddy GE reactors is interesting.. Who let those reactors go out should be suspect it seems to me.. Don't you?

Leading one away from the fact that NOTHING is happening atmospherically (as far as any appreciable radiation deposit coming in from Fukushima) in the US certainly does no good for anyone, but thump a drum.. now why does anyone need to do that?

READ the data from the independent and the EPA gamma recorders.. NOTHING radioactively dangerous from Fukushima is reaching the US AIR, and nothing then is depositing in any substantial amount, and certainly not creating any issue, unless one trumps up something, right?
