With all the arguing, debates, difference of opinions, wars, race separation, the wealth gap, it is no wonder the world is divided, and any mention of us as human being thinking of unification has a species is categorised as "globalism" since it always seems to bring into the processes or mechanisms of economics, politics, elite groups and many other self geocentric thoughts and isolationism in a cosmic sense.
Within a few hundred years and even less, many can become nationalised, a sense of identity relating to a geographic location and a sense of beliefs created by their predecessors which either formed these beliefs or created artificial boundaries within a land mass.
In time if we are gong to survive we will have to cooperate with each other to such a degree to think as one human species, when we discover life out there on others worlds...the problem is which set of beliefs, mechanisms, and who will decide the fate of mankind has a whole?

If you ask a Muslim. it should be their belief system same goes with the Christians and so on then of course comes the conflict.
mankind can only unite when we are able to do away with belief system and let each one live according to his/her belief. To divide mankind is the main reason why belief systems are injected unto us.Perhaps the only belief system we should have is; do what you will, respect and harm no one.
Who will decide the fate? let mankind unite first and then we will know.

We must learn to view ourselves as we are, earthlings , human beings living on the same planet, we must get along and live in peace with nature and each other... Until then, it is what it is...

Who knows ... maybe that's why we got religion in the first place? To drag us down and allow us to bring ourselves out of it on our own - creating an immunity of sorts for our species ... just a thought. :)

To say we should unite implies unite with regards to something - a view, a virtue, a movement, a goal, etc.
'Unite' onto itself is just a word that has no context. Sounds great but is hollow, empty.

Due to differences of views we might be able to unite only on one purpose ; respect each ones view.

I love this ideal. What do we do when someone does not respect the views of another?
Perhaps nothing... perhaps ignore them?
What if, in their expression of disrespect, they become irrational? They become violent?
Tricky, huh?
