View Full Version : NASA to Host News Conference on Discovery Beyond Our Solar System

Hi Folks

On 22nd February at 1pm EST NASA will be streaming live to "present new findings on planets that orbit stars other than our sun, known as exoplanets."

Whilst what is presented in the public domain may well not of course be the fulness of what has actually been discovered (!), it will be interesting to see what IS being revealed in the public domain, and what tiny tiptoe steps, if any, are tentatively being taken towards daring to entrust the general populace with disclosure of the actual facts of our position within the universe.

I'll certainly be listening for both the overt and the covert messages, along with the red herrings.

Looking at the speakers I'd hazard a guess and say an exoplanet detected with an earth like atmosphere in goldilocks zone.

Wasn't that alpha proxima, about three months ago?

Why can't it be life found on Mars! or some such?

Yes, something like that wouldn't surprise me, either. If so, it seems highly likely to be part of a co-ordinated, steady, drip-feed public acclimatization to the fact we're not alone in the universe. We may roll our eyes at these public presentation games, but it's actually a good thing that this awareness is now being promoted.

That is a good guess there has been quite few articles about that and I have posted
several threads about that over the past few years.

It would be amusing if it was about the holographic universe as I am watching
a few vids on that , but not likely....LOL

Scientists may be one step closer to discovering extraterrestrial life. NASA’s Kepler
telescope recently discovered 104 exoplanets, meaning planets outside our solar
system, more than 100 light years away from Earth. RT America’s Brigida Santos
reports that scientist believe two of the planets are close enough to the star they
orbit to be hospitable for life.

Star's seven Earth-sized worlds set record

Astronomers have discovered seven Earth-sized planets orbiting a single
star - a record number.

Artwork: It's the largest number of Earth-sized planets ever found orbiting the same star
Astronomers have detected a record seven Earth-sized planets orbiting a single star.

The researchers say that all seven could potentially support liquid water on the
surface, depending on the other properties of those planets. However, three of
these worlds are within the "habitable" zone where life is considered a possibility.
The compact system of exoplanets orbits Trappist-1, a low-mass, cool star located
40 light-years away from Earth. The planets were detected using Nasa's Spitzer
Space Telescope and several ground-based observatories are described in the
journal Nature.

As David Icke has been saying for many years that he saw 2016/7/8 as possible
pivotal years we have been seeing this politically and even in sport how about
disclosure ???

Certainly I cannot remember scientists being this optimistic in these NASA press
releases on Exo planets....I'm talking mainstream of course not the secret space
programme we speculated have existed for decades......

These planets are so far away that its all speculation but does give them a good PR
to the public and a funding renewal . Though one other significant thing is the stars
a Dwarf Sun and is very common in the universe so they insinuated there could be
many more earth like planets and of course some could be much closer....

ESOcast 96: Ultracool Dwarf and the Seven Planets

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSFcQFoHXiU

Published on 22 Feb 2017

Astronomers have found a system of seven Earth-sized planets just 40
light-years away. Using ground and space telescopes, including ESO’s
Very Large Telescope, the planets were all detected as they passed in
front of their parent star, the ultracool dwarf star known as TRAPPIST-1.

Three of the planets lie in the habitable zone and could harbour oceans
of water on their surfaces, increasing the possibility that the star system
could play host to life. This system has both the largest number of Earth
-sized planets yet found and the largest number of worlds that could
support liquid water on their surfaces. This ESOcasts describes the
findings and shows a little of what they might mean.

The artist’s impressions in this video are based on the known physical
parameters for the planets and stars seen, and uses a vast database
of objects in the Universe.

TRAPPIST-1 Planets Tidally Locked to Star, Have Short Orbits | Video

Most, if not all, of the 7 Earth-sized planets in the ultra cool dwarf star
system may only face one way towards their sun, similar to Earth’s moon.
Their orbits range from 1.94 days to about 20.

Synopsis:

Star with 7 earth-like planets found, three in the habitable zone.

Best fit (goldilocks zone) = planet E, planet D and F also suitable

All three, planets D, E, F close to earth size

Distance to parent star for planet E = 5% of earth's or 4.5 million miles (approx.)

Period, year (planet E) = 9 days

Parent Star = Trappist - 1 = 40 light years from Sol = a red dwarf star

Red dwarfs are the most common star in the galaxy. Much cooler and smaller than Sol. Because of their size and the fact they are in the main sequence phase, fusing hydrogen, these stars have life spans in the trillions of years. Alpha Centauri, the nearest star to Sol, at 4.2 light years distance, is also a red dwarf.

most planets tidally locked = same face towards sun (like the moon to the earth)

distance between adjacent planetary orbits = under 1 million miles

there is significant gravitational interaction between the planets

I wonder if the obvious is understood in this story...

There is no way, considering orthodox cosmology ,that such a system is natural. The star is too small, the planets too large, their orbits too close. Since the star is so small and since the planets are so tightly packed into and around the habitable zone, the capture scenario is almost completely off the table and the alternative seems more likely: this system was designed - by intent.

If not then this system is the most improbable collection of incalculable odds-against-chance events to ever conglomerate together in time and space.

There is more to this story...
