It's said that this was made for childrens television but I thought it was a little dark @ times but a good story & would not be made today...

This book was on the English sylibus for o level when I was in school in 79/80ish - strangely can't remember much about the story - don't think I enjoyed his writing style at that age.
Vaguely remember the series so thanks - will give it a watch for old times sake.
