For 20 plus years I enjoyed living near and in the mountains of Colorado. I worked construction when jobs were plentiful and easy to get. I had a small red Retriever named Knot head. As would happen in construction, the time would come for layoff. I looked forward to it because it meant it was time to get our packs and head for the wilderness. Once at the parking area for a trail head, I would put on her pack with her food and then my pack. A six to seven mile hike up then down and then up to tree line to a lake in a bowl fed by snow melt. Pure water running down the rock. Shaded areas with patches of snow. It was beautiful and once there we would stay for 2-3 days. I loved the experience. That is all but the hike. The last part was all up from the valley and a killer. During this part I always imagined having a jet pack.

Well, it's either that or an Uber helicopter service.

So Frankie, is Knothead still around? If not for the journey, then it was for the destination?

A constant daydream since childhood was to close my eyes and upon opening them I would be at a destination of my choice anywhere in the universe. You're probably right, it is not really about the journey.

JetPack! Rocketeer in Real Life! - 4K wow so cool
I used to go to sit on the little ledge of cave up in the snowy Himalayas.
It was quite a refreshing trip to get there, I can still feel the blasts of pure white snow flurries to this day.
It was hard work getting there at first but over the many trips it got really easy.
Oh did I mention I used to fly :neo: there through the clouds with my arms out-stretched :)
Of course this was just a sense-around meditation :sun:
With practice you can make these trips very, very real.

She is in my thoughts but no longer around. It definitely was for the destination.
