Abductee Regressions: Question Marks over Some Research Methods of David Jacobs and Budd Hopkins

Here is an article throwing into question some of the practices used by well-known regression therapists Dr David Jacobs and the late Budd Hopkins with abductees, and highlighting some new books which explore this theme:-

"Emma Woods, an Experiencer regressed by David Jacobs has also written extensively about the manipulation used by David Jacobs, even stated that while under regression, suggested to her that she has Multiple Personality Syndrome and that she use psychotic medicines to combat the evil Grey Aliens that she was having contact with. Jacobs was not a medical doctor and had no formal training in hypnotic regressions. She has a recording of this event."

Of course the dubiousness or otherwise of the intentions behind the abduction phenomenon has long been hotly debated, and there is a whole range of viewpoints, often strongly held.

I don't trust Emma Woods or Carol Rainey.
I believe that they each have their own agendas.

I'll stick with Dr David Jacobs and Budd Hopkins.

I would be very discerning as regards anything written by Jack Brewer or Carol Rainey. While I certainly feel Jacobs' role w/Emma Woods left a lot to be desired, she, on the other hand, also needs to take some responsibility re what happened to her (as it pertains to her relationship w/Jacobs). I used to feel somewhat differently about this entire Rainey/Jacobs/Hopkins issue, but the more I delved into this scenario, my perspective changed somewhat. There are/were issues with ALL of these individuals bickering w/one another - no one individual had everything 'right.' Mistakes were made by all. If you read Dr. Jacobs' article on his website (an updated version re the entire Woods issue), I think you may come up w/some answers to this issue w/Woods and Jacobs.

I was unaware of this situation until now. After listening to the audio recordings of David Jacobs in actual hypnosis sessions with Emma Woods from her website, https://emmawoodsfiles.com, I must say that I am appalled. It seems Jacobs violates about every rule in the book regarding the use of hypnosis.

You don't implant hypnotic suggestions (duh), you don't ask leading questions, you don't make leading statements, and you don't tell a person under hypnosis how they should think about anything. These are forms of mind control. Some people are more suggestible than others and it depends how deep the hypnosis is, so you have to be very careful about these things.

This also demonstrates that his results may be colored by the hypnotic suggestions which, of course, casts some doubt about some of the information in his books.

Also, you don't tell people under hypnosis that drugs are the solution to their problems (especially when Jacobs is not a doctor) and also since pharmaceutical drugs don't solve problems and have serious adverse side effects.

Thank you for this. Sorry, some firm views incoming, but I too have to speak out against David Jacobs (again). I certainly respect him for his credentials, and the body of work he's produced, but mostly in raising awareness on the reality of abduction and the ET presence. But some of his methods leave a lot to be desired, and so do his conclusions - like, very very much. And I have written about this aspect before, regarding Jacobs's findings - that the ETs are supposedly negative, malignant, and treating human beings as helpless 'test subjects' for some form of sinister, and quite possibly hostile, agenda against us.

Did no one ever consider that this, the foremost example of mainstream "abduction hypothesis", espoused left, right, and centre, almost precisely mirrors Elite-sponsored Hollywood programming, that ETs are coming to harm us, eat us, destroy us, or whatever? Did no one ever think, just for a minute, that perhaps the negative picture of ETs, painted (twisted) by researchers like Jacobs, are part of the very same Psy-op? Not saying there aren't some negative experiences, or maybe some negative ETs, but the emphasis is focused here on the negative rather than on the positive which is the benchmark and far more prevalent. Please dig deeper, and you'll find that the truth is very very different to that portrayed (perhaps in part grossly misinterpreted) by Jacobs..

I have summoned the temerity once before to call his conclusions utter bullcrap, or words to that effect, and in criticizing the cherished institution that is Jacobs been totally ignored, and any subsequent opinions I happen to air on ET-related matters quite possibly dismissed forthwith, simply because I dared to voice such a scandalous view.

My contrary view is based on what? Well, rather a lot actually. Having had numerous abduction experiences since youth, I have first hand knowledge and first hand experience of the actual reality, so I do believe my interpretations and explanations for said phenomena to be worth taking into consideration at the very least. What's more none of my memories are coloured or tainted by flawed light-trance methods employed by the likes of Jacobs.

I just read "Encounters" by Dr. Edith Fiore, who has permission to print her regressed patients. Extremely enlightening.
They had early childhood visitations, whole blocks of family on board, black extra-terrestrials that said they are watching over their children.
