Could it be that the direction being push for the human race is an evolution towards bio-robotics? All this technology in the hands of the public makes sense then. Everything which seems random will have been programmed in. Nothing will have seemed to have changed on the surface but everything will have changed in essence.

If the Singularity has already occurred then this is just a history lesson. ;)
