I took IONS' Intuition Test today, receiving a 46, an "average" score. The test displays a series of photographs of people, their faces, and you have to use your intuition to decide if the person is dead or alive. Anyone interested in taking it -- it takes about 10 minutes and photos come fast, so your responses need to be faster. And be ready to go as soon as you click "start." (If this has already been posted, mods, please feel free to delete.)

Lol, the test told me:
You correctly classified 51.3% of the images.
By chance, you are expected to correctly classify about 50% of the images. Your performance is slightly above average.

Much better than me! Curious to know, when looking at them, what suggested to you whether they were alive or dead? Was is it something in the eyes?

Yay for being average!

so If someone says everyone is dead then they will score way above average?

Not the eyes, I focused on the hairstyle, the suit they wear and the style of the glasses (if they wear old glasses like in the 80s, I suppose the person is probably dead). Also I thought, the older they look in the picture, the more chance they are dead by now, just guessing, I got lucky
Another thing: I went really fast, like 3 or 4 seconds per picture max, not thinking twice.

51.6 for me.. :) I did the same thing as atlas. looked at the pictures intensely for a couple of seconds then clicked the button i thought was right

I got 49.4% when I attempted to follow my intuition. I got 50.7% when I did it a second time under another name and hit "probably dead" for all of the photos. Which should mean that if I did this again and hit "probably alive" on each photo I should get 49.3% What is the weighting and averaging of "probably dead" versus "definitely dead"" Or, "probably alive" versus "definitely alive"? I suspect this exercise is statistically invalid.

I found out about the test via a an episode of The Plane Truth: Anthony Peake -- "The Man Who Remembered the Future" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrVInSNMXtE) - Philip K. Dick (great interview, if you're interested in holographic simulated reality theories). One of the interviewers talk about his results of this test and how there is something in the eyes and how that something in the eyes supports the quantum entanglement idea. So I tried to focus on the eyes, but just got average results.

My score was 51.9%.
I ran two more. Every click was either "definitely all alive" or "definitely all dead":
“definitely all alive” = 50%
“definitely all dead” = 49.4%
I mostly went by my over all sense. When an answer didn’t come quick, I used eye glasses, hair styles, the line between the eye brows, and overall health from the under-eye area to help influence my decision.

OK then someone try the test with the faces covered up -now that will be really interesting, and more intuitive.

I got 53.x (closed the window to look at how my score compared and it wouldn't let me go back to the results page - didn't snip it and can't recall the decimal) :) I was actually expecting better ... I should note that I was also selecting very quickly 1-2 seconds for most of them - trying to eliminate thought - intuition is instant, thought takes time.
Took too long to try again ... maybe later :)

I just took the test again and took my own advice I allowed my self a view of the shoulders only and got a 53.8 score exceptional as a one in six chance of getting this- I tried to read the aura from the shoulders.

Considering the average score spread - that is quite a jump. very interesting. when it comes to intuition, often less is more.

So many times I've looked at photos of people after they have passed, and there was something in their photos that seemed to have changed. What it was I saw, I don't know. Maybe it's not the photos at all. Could be that it's my own consciousness changing how I perceive these people in the photos.

Derren Brown tests an Undertakers intuition by making him separate a collection of old photos, however there is something more sinister and remarkable about the way he separates them.

Since the choices are (relatively) binary, very low scores indicate reverse intuition. :) To score 0% would indicate that you chose wrong 100% of the time - the chances of that happening are the same as getting it 100% right. (unless there some less than obvious scoring algorithm going on in the background that changes the meaning of the metric, but it doesn't appear so).

Join the "average" club -- I'm in it too. I think we all have intuition; we just need to take some time to exercise it. That's how I look at this test: an exercise.

I did not find an "about the test" section, though I did find an IONS' site with more psi tests. These seem to be more sophisticated, and you need to sign up and submit a questionnaire before taking them.

As an interesting aside, I thought I recognised one of the pictures. I went back and did it again to get the grab, but this guy:

looks quite a bit like John Mack (famed and now sadly deceased Alien Abduction researcher/author).

A resemblance anyway, and I might be quite wrong, you decide. :)

I followed two patterns without bothering to look at the photos. In the final analysis, they added further details on both of these most recent tests:
57% - clicked every other one [There is only one chance out of 18 that your result would occur by chance.]
54.4% - went in order [There is only one chance out of 6 that your result would occur by chance.]

I find mine is awesome for second guessing -- every time I second guess myself or try to apply thought / logic to my intuition - I'm always wrong. One day I'll learn not to think, and just go with intuition - like I remember doing as a child before my ego decided to question everything my intuition intuited ... :)

That's tricky because using intuition is more about shutting off thought and ego - something that can be very tricky -- but yes, exactly like a muscle - the practice is finding that subtle line between intuition and overriding thought that drowns out the voice of intuition, and learning to trust everything on the other side of that line, without further thought / judgement / logic. It doesn't mean that thought / logic is opposite of intuition - it just means that the intuitive voice is extremely quiet, and often only speaks once - in "instant" time.

You know, good question. They did start looking alike as I went through them, but maybe it had to do with the lack of color in the photos. I noticed that in a few of the photos of men, the eyes had something extra in them, like more sparkly.

Rats, I wanted to try but the test requires Adobe Flash Player
My intuition says "No Thanks"
Kiss my ass Flash Player, you're too dangerous and powerful.
"Flash Must Die"
ref: https://www.wired.com/2015/07/adobe-flash-player-die/
I used to develop things in flash, it has it's own language called Actionscript. When I realized I could read and write to my file system, I thought "Cool!" but it's really not that cool at all.... :P
EDIT: Whoever decided Flash should have filesystem access needs a punch in the chops.... my browser can't even access the filesystem to check if a file exists before downloading, but Flash can access the filesystem..... idiotic
