Power Outages Coincide in LA, New York, and San Francisco

My understanding is that all money transfers have to go thru either the Federal Reserve in NYC or LA. It would be interesting to know if the power was out in either of those banks, as the Financial District in San Francisco was dark. Was some money being shuffled around?

In 1998, when Québec had months of ice storms and a good part of the electrical network destroyed, I learned that the most protected electrical networks in cities are their downtowns and the aqueduc water distribution plants.

Why, because they are the targets that are the most damaging for a city and a country if damaged. And as it happened, my neighborhood is directly on the downtown lines from a hydro-electric central, and was the last to go. We only missed current for 3 days, while most of the Montréal area missed for 2 weeks.

It would therefore be very surprising if downtown San Francisco or downtown New York/Manhatten were not extremely well protected. So, I do think that outages in those places are planned and desired.
