Greetings any and all readers, I'm hoping this is a reasonable place to post this. If not feel free to move it to a more appropriate section.
I don't bring myself around to writing on these forums much, which in itself I'd like to change, however there is something that I've been experiencing on and off throughout my life I feel explaining here might provide me with some insight. That and a very good friend who is also a member of these forums suggested the idea.
Ever since I can remember from being a child, I have felt the presence of some demonic being assaulting me in the throws of slumber. Even when I am fully awake or aware that I am in fact sleeping, I will feel something looming over me until I get the sensation of being attacked. I hear a lot of sleep-paralysis and that having dreams like this is more common than a lot of people would believe, however I can't help but feel that it's more than just that.
I can provide a couple examples that have stood out or have left an everlasting impression in my mind, starting from the earliest that I can remember to the most recent being three (or four) days ago:
The first time I witnessed a presence was when I was only five or six. It was late and I was already in bed because it was well passed my bedtime though I could not sleep. Something drew me downstairs into the living room where I saw something outside the balcony doors. Its features were and still remain indistinguishable to me. It felt alien. It looked alien. I fled upstairs and hid under the blankets until the morning called for school. Ever since that.. encounter I have had recurring dreams of this presence haunting me. I would feel it lurking in the basement. I would try to run for the safety of my room upstairs every time to no avail for it always caught me and, when it caught me, I would witness my death before waking. This dream has recurred throughout my entire life though less frequently.
The second I will copypasta from when I spoke of it while it was still fresh in my mind the next day:
Didn't sleep well at all last night. Within minutes of falling asleep, I felt something and had three rapid flashes of white hot light pierce my closed eyes. I opened them and saw nothing. Felt nothing. The street outside was dark, the room pitch black, the house in the throws of slumber. I knew it was "something." After that for probably an hour or two every attempt at falling asleep, I had the ever familiar knowledge that I was at the whim of whatever it was that was invading my dreams. I barely remember the first few encounters, all I can recall is being aware I'm sleeping in my bed but a presence loomed menacingly over me. I opened my eyes once only to see myself sleeping, only to wake up and instantly plunge into another presence. Two this time, disguised as family members. I was lifted from my bed and manhandled. I could feel myself being spun in circles, my limbs being torn from my body, the life being drained from me like a vampire sucking my blood. I feared for my life but I knew I had control and I opened my eyes to the same nothingness of me sleeping. As soon as I did, whatever presence harassed me all night decided to try elsewhere. I felt my body return to the surface of my bed.
Thanks all for hearing my words and may the light shine brightly. ♥
