Same here in Sweden with Firefox, but Dave's fix solved it, it's working now, thank you.

In France it's the same situation. Impossible to connect with FIREFOX my mailbox Hotmail/outlook !!!! from my windows10 PC.
But hopefully I can do it with my Android smartphone and also from my MacBookPro with SAFARI .

The problem comes from FIREFOX ...! SHAME ON IT , I repeat SHAME on IT . It's now 3.40 pm in France and this problem still remains..... It's not very professionnal from Mozilla , and the worst: it's also IMPOSSIBLE TO JOIN THE MOZILLA/FIREFOX team !! they surely hide because they are not proud !!!! I surely will stop with this browser, in France we could say : NAVIGATEUR DE MERDE !!!!!
So, if one is so affected and unable to access one's e-mails, here is the working temporary fix until Firefox gets it right... (Outlook mail was accessible via the Brave and Comodo Dragon browsers without any troubles while Firefox kept returning that error):

FIX for firefox users: Problem in last 24hrs with firefox browser can be fixed by opening the "about:config" page which you get to via the location/URL address bar in firefox, just type in about:config then look for this setting:

security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling = true

change "true" to "false" (you can right click and click toggle to change this setting), this should fix,

firefox says problem is with outlook server but problem does not seem to be there on other browsers. The OCSP Stapling setting allows website servers to check their own security certificates but there appears to be a bug with outlook, you can try changing the setting back once things get fixed. Hope this helped..That should do it for now (it did for me :))

Oooo, yeah, I'm so glad I didn't fall for all that hype when they had no security on it. Kept my Win7 and I just clean it, and add up to date virus protection, minus any updates by Microsoft for 8, 9, 10, 11, ...ect. I'll stick to what works, pop in when I want and pop out or chill in a video site for a few hours watching a movie. I never use them since graduating from colleges where we were told main frame messaging was html, outlook or Win live. Only natural the snoops after what 2 decades would buy it up. They are looking to suck money off new programs, but millenials aren't having it. Crooks will not use our gadgets, ideas, or solutions for the highest dollar to price people out. WE don't take money, we give it for free to change the world.

Later guys.
