So, is this just another hint that something significant in the 'alien life exists' realm is about to be released to the public?

Anonymous claims NASA will announce discovery of intelligent alien life

The SunNews Corp Australia Network:

NASA is “on the verge” of announcing the discovery of alien life, according to the latest video from hacktivist group Anonymous.

The hackers published a YouTube clip overnight which claims a NASA scientist made the announcement at the last meeting of the US Science, Space and Technology committee.

It comes after NASA’s Kepler space observatory discovered 219 “potential new worlds” in other solar systems.

Ten of the planets are “rocky” like the Earth and fall in their systems’ “Goldilocks zone” — so-called because it is not too hot or too cold for life to exist.

In its video, Anonymous claimed head of NASA Science Mission Directorate Professor Thomas Zurbuchen told the meeting: “Our civilisation is on the verge of discovering evidence of alien life in the cosmos. Taking into account all of the different activities and missions that are searching for alien life, we are on the verge of making one of the most profound, unprecedented discoveries in history.”

Professor Zurbuchen said on Twitter last week: “Wow, 219 potential new planets! @NASAKepler data shows us that most stars are home to at least one planet … Are we alone?”

The Kepler space telescope has been hunting for planets since it was launched into orbit around the Sun in 2009.

It can spot tiny drops in a distant star’s brightness when a planet crosses in front of it, called a transit.

The latest groundbreaking discoveries were among 2335 planets beyond our solar system that have been verified after being found by Kepler.

Of these, only 30 planets have been found to be earth-like planets potentially able to host life.

“This carefully-measured catalogue is the foundation for directly answering one of astronomy’s most compelling questions — how many planets like our Earth are in the galaxy?” said Susan Thompson, Kepler research scientist.

Interesting...no telescope on earth or in space that Man has created can provide enough magnification to "see" a star as more than a speck of light and the only evidence of the existence of a planet is by it's transit in front of a star yet they claim ten of the planets are "rocky"?
Seriously?
So now when we ask such a question such as "how do you know it's a rocky planet?" we'll no doubt be told they use spectrometers or something similar to determine the composition of something they can't even see.
I don't know...
Sounds like they are fishing for more funding.
Let's fix our own planet first, I say...

They surely come again with a new microscopic organism or a bunch of inhabitable planets discovered. So nothing new,has been said before.

It's a huge difference between "alien life in cosmos" and "alien civilization on other planet/s".

Agreed, EFO. But the OP mentioned "inteliigent" alien life.
Does anyone have any idea about the reliability of Anonymous leaks?

You are right pabranno ,but insects and/or animals are also intelligent, still don't have a civilization and that's why I wrote "alien civilization on other planet/s".

Anonymus is all talk and probabilities. Same message (worded in different ways) over and over and over again.

These guys/gals could really do some serious stuff if they feel, like permanently killing the entire financial system on the internet for instance. I mean, they are all talk about evil this evil that, warning here warning there, and that's where it stays. Every time people are like yeah, interesting and every time they'd be thinking that same thing when watching their vids. Wonder how hard they laugh at people when counting their money.

Even if NASA were to announce this, trust on the fact it will be a lie laced with some truth.

To be frank, I the heading Anonymous claims NASA is about to announce ‘evidence of alien life’ is misleading.
“Our civilisation is on the verge of discovering evidence of alien life in the cosmos. Taking into account all of the different activities and missions that are searching for alien life, we are on the verge of making one of the most profound, unprecedented discoveries in history.” This is same old rhetoric to me, I have seen it a hundred times.

Personally I am sick of hearing about Anonymous. I agree with Mad Scientist, if they had any real power they would have used it by now. Their so called leaks are about as accurate as internet psychic. 50/50

The money is going here as well - PLATO Deep space telescope.
Of course sending up another telescope and sending it a few hundred thousand miles into deep space will bring all those distant stars so much much closer into view (NOT) !!!

A month ago or so they claimed to have discovered I think it was six planets all within the goldilocks zone of one star, no more than a few million miles difference in all their orbits. Ya right!

“While we’re excited about the latest findings from NASA’s Kepler space observatory, there’s no pending announcement regarding extraterrestrial life. For years NASA has expressed interest in searching for signs of life beyond Earth. We have a number of science missions that are moving forward with the goal of seeking signs of past and present life on Mars and ocean worlds in the outer solar system. While we do not yet have answers, we will continue to work to address the fundamental question, ‘are we alone?’” said Laurie Cantillo, NASA Lead Communications Specialist, in a statement emailed to Fox News.

As typical nasa double talk, they dont deny that they have found extraterrestrial life, instead they say 'no announcement is pending'. What follows is uncharacteristically upbeat, saying they continue to look for it, with relish. I dont know, but this is not typical 'swamp gas' denial, this appears to be a more affirmatve message, to me, anyway. In any case, as stated above, whatever admission we get from nasa, or any other government agency, will be a deceit wrapped in half truths.

I went to a presentation a few years back where a Cern scientist was talking about how they found the "God" particle - bosom higgs, and another speaker was a woman fron NASA She was saying that the rover on March was proving there had been water there in the far awqy past, that some moon of Jupiter may have water and that they were frantically looking for life anywhere in space, bacteria etc. or on other planets. Someone in the crowd asked her about intelligent life, she answered that finding one bacteria alive would mean there is life elsewhere and that extrapolating the existence of intelligent life would become obvious to everyone. She thought it would happen in her lifetime
