View Full Version : Fae; Fairies: Are they real?

I have done a search on Avalon and something that has come to my attention lately, is many people's belief in fairies. I have never seen anything that I thought was one of these beings, however apparently they can choose whether they can be seen or not, as well as be different sizes or forms.
I wanted to look more into this topic to determine if there is any credible evidence, or even some personal stories people would like to share of their own experiences?
So far, after doing some searching and sampling of videos and articles, I have this:

A university lecturer is claiming to have photographed fairies flying through the air in the British countryside.
John Hyatt, 53, says his series of photos which were taken over the past two years prove the tiny winged creatures do exist in the Rossendale Valley, Lancashire.
Mr Hyatt, Director of Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art and Design (MIRIAD) at Manchester Metropolitan University insists his photos are genuine and have not been altered in any way.

Experts and the simply sceptical will no doubt point to explanations involving reflections, flashes or technical glitches or that the tiny shapes could be a flea.

My understanding is they are real but are on a slightly higher frequency then ours. Unless your wisdom eye is open you cannot see them.

My family lived on 23 acres of land that was diverse in flora. One spot we called Fairyland. It was marshy and full of fiddlehead ferns, purple and white violets, skunk cabbage, lady slippers and thorns. I only saw the fairies and elves out of the corner of my eye and get that tickle in the belly.
Another spot was thick with sumac trees and tall grasses where my siblings and I played hide and seek. The fairies and elves helped me stealthy scoot away on my hands and knees by floating along. When I became aware of what was happening my stomach was filled with intense joy and giggles.
Never was there a need to question. Kids just know. Kids feel.

Several years back, a bunch of us went for an early evening walk. I caught my nephew who was six or seven give a wave towards a row of forsythia bushes. His face said it all. He checked to see if anyone saw what he saw. I leaned over and whispered, “You see them, too?” He shook his head and grinned.

Do they have a common form? Do they look humanoid at all?

This is an interview from 2015 with the daughter of Frances Griffiths, one of the girls who took photos of the famous Cottingley fairies in Yorkshire in the 1920:s.
The photos were fake, which the girls admitted when they were adults. BUT, Frances Griffith maintained that the last photo was authentic.

Hi 7alon
This is interesting and fascinating subject matter and a little contentious for some. The technological capability now available for creating potentially phoney media can throw this sort of imagery into doubt, unless it is independently and expertly scrutinised to give it veracity. It may, or may not be of course, the case here.
I can't remember the names of the ladies who pulled a brilliant 'hoax' stunt back in the early part of the 20th century by photographing fairies from a picture book against a backdrop of foliage, and later confessed to having fabricated their photos, some 50 years later I believe!
Never the mind: my view is that such things do exist, and particularly where there is what I can helpfully call dimensional bleed: highly psychically attuned people do see and experience things that many of us normally (sic) don't. An ex-girlfriend of mine is particularly acutely blessed with this ability
I'll share with you a paragraph from 'Afterlife: psychic research has just come of age' by Colin Wilson, Grafton 1987 - Chapter 2: The World of the clairvoyant. (pp 74-5)[
The subject, Rosalind Heywood:
"The entities she describes are usually known as nature spirits or elementals, and most 'sensitives' claim to have seen them. Steiner (Rudolf) speaks of them as a matter of fact, and comments: "In the elemental world we find earth spirits (gnomes), water spirits (undines), air spirits (sylphs) and fire spirits (salamanders)"
W.Y Evans Wentz, an authority on Eastern religions, states in his classic study 'The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries: '...we can postulate scientifically...the existence of such invisible intelligences as gods, genii, daemons, all kinds of true fairies and disembodied man (humankind)". He arrived at this conclusion as a result of years of study of 'fairy faith' and the gathering of hundreds of depositions.
I do wonder whether you, and I for that matter, could glean more information about these experiences from the Society of Psychical Research (SPR) and their vast library of proceedings. Certainly a voluminous collection!
One thing is absolutely certain is that the experiences are 'real' and that reality is a great deal more multi-layered and colourful, as in the manner of a stained glass window, than the consensus viewpoint would have us believe.

if one has read/followed the David Paulides' 2 volumn + sequal research books "Missing 411" about unexplainable disappearances in the N. American wilderness (sequal takes it world wide) this concept does not seem very wild whatsoever; the world out there is NOT what we've been told it's been; read the books + the sequal; yes, there may be 'fairies in our gardens' out there in extremely isolated areas and they are for real and not benevolent;- read the books then decide for yourself-
I know this sounds completely crazy-
but do the research then decide for yourself-

I have seen something that I have no name for, but it was, I think, some sort of woodland sprite. I have met Dora Kunz and have done a workshop with Robyn Finseth. Both these ladies say they can see fairies and beings from that realm and Dora Kunz, now passed, has written books about them. Also, to me, they seemed very credible. There is a rather lovely video on YouTube called "Edgar Cayce Fairies, Angels, and Unseen Forces. It was helpful to me as what I saw wasn't at all like what I thought a fairy might look like as what I saw was tall. Also, Angela Donovan - Live at the Awake and Aware Conference (Project Camelot) Malta Summer 2016 and other Angela Donovan interviews cover the fairy subject. She is a fascinating woman.

Here is an article about the faerie tree that stopped the highway.
http://www.irelandinpicture.net/2010/04/fairy-tree-that-delayed-motorway-ennis.html
We were there in 2000, but did not stop. Just drove around it on the highway. Being in a party of thirty-some noisy tourists in a bus, we didn't expect to see any faeries.

Yes I was watching this also. They discuss gnomes and other cryptids. Here is the video for anybody interested:
