It's a clever publicity stunt using social media for the Eden Project's new 'Journey into Space' attraction.

Just look very carefully at all the press reports; what is always included? What is missing...?

I admit it had me going for a while, until I joined the dots. Very clever indeed. Beware - this format will likely develop into more complex versions in future and it will bamboozle others...

It used to be misinterpretations like Venus, planes and meteorites, then came chinese lanterns and sun baloons and now we have drones and CGI CGI CGI ...

Feels like a hopeless battle. If we can´t trust photos and videos anymore, what else is there ?

Videos & pics are ok if you have the ability to analyse them, but there are just too many people out there hoaxing stuff for their own gain.

There is also the strange aspect that "they" control what is seen & photographed, no one ever gets a pic that is proof enough for non believers, just enough for believers.....

It's a "MURMURATION OF STARLINGS".

If you google murmuration, it is explained on the RSPB website.

Here in England occasionally thousands of Starlings perform these aerial acrobatics, often just before going to roost.

I've enjoyed witnessing it personally, and it is very impressive.

A spectacular sight, although not very often seen.

Not a murmuration of starlings or a swarm of bees. Hint; no wide reporting of the object, despite widely recorded videos. No news reports other than from those having taken the video.

Was I the only one to find it a bit weird that ALL the press reports included the very precisely worded statement from Eden spokesman? How often does that happen?

C'mon folks! It's al very clever. Maybe too clever...

A clever hoax.

How long before the OP video appears on Thirdphaseofmoon website with that "you decide" rubbish? Or on a Youtube video compilation where no one gives a toss whether it's been hoaxed or explained?

The very article you provided explains it...

Definitely insects swarms. We have had a very very wet season, raining most of the time, as if in the tropics, heavy rains at 4PM for 2 hours, and sunny prior. Other days it is raining all days, so much so that airline companies have added up schedules to go to Florida and Cuba, because we are tired of not having sun after a very harsh winter, so people are going South, even in summer, which is not usual.

So yes, those conditions are paradise for insect development.

I live 1 hour drive from Cornwall and work 30 minutes drive from it. I have seen zero UFO

While we are being cheeky, it's not Cornwall in Canukia either, its the original one to the south west of England, over the river Tamar where the pasties come from...

:)

While the op video does look "insect swarm-ish" - it looks more like a pretty basic particle "swarm" effect that can be reproduced easily with most higher end 3D programs (like the one I use - not hard to do at all) or even with a plugin tool for Adobe after effects that can be easily overlayed. It has movement that does not look quite organic or natural - when compared to the actual insect swarm videos.

And just for more fun - particle effects entertainment ...
