View Full Version : Canada: a welcoming place for refugees ?

Yesterday, soldiers from the Canadian Armed Forces were deployed at the Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle border crossing to build a camp to accommodate migrants crossing the Canada-US border. Because about 700 newcomers, mostly Haitian, are currently crammed into the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), without a shower or a bed.

Canada has maintained a large-scale immigration policy since the Mulroney era. It's a very expensive program. Studies have indicated that on balance the most recent generation of immigrants hasn't integrated well, particularly in economic terms, compared to previous generations. And the costs of integrating refugees and asylum seekers are no doubt substantially higher than integrating immigrants who arrive via the regular immigration program.

Were the costs of this entire enterprise to seen by taxpayers to be burdensome, public support for the entire program would plummet. Rather than representing a contradiction, there is a very direct connection between carefully controlling the flow of asylum seekers and refugees and maintaining a relatively generous immigration program.

How democratic are you, Trudeau, when you're not listening to Canadian's voice for putting a break on this?

I see nothing wrong with welcoming and sharing to those who have less by those who have in abundance. The thing to watch is the hidden agenda by the gangster puppet (gov). Canadians and the migrants should be able to see this. Those who are already aware should be on the front line. The most common agenda is to create conflict. First part of the solution is to be aware of the problem.

Hi Gaia, you are quite right, Trudeau is not really concerned about democracy, except to con your vote on election day. These political parties in Canada are just organizations that collect money from their members, without asking their opinions on policy matters, then, if they get to power, obfuscate most of what they do, such as what is actually happening in this refugee program. These politicians are easily bribed (i bet most have hidden offshore bank accounts).

Both major federal parties cater to big business (or the cabal as they may be called). Two recent instances come to mind. First is our beloved Trudeau who missed a vote in the house of commons because he was in new york for a meeting with the blackrock hedgefund group (vulture fund). What was he doing meeting with those capitalist vampires instead of serving the people who elected him? Because he doesnt serve the people who elected him, he serves those who pay him the most.

A second instance is the fraud and influence peddling trial of the engineering firm snc lavalin. Lavalin has been caught making campaign donations to both major federal parties to the tune of $100k. This is a very cheap price to pay to own both sides and have unfettered access to the billions of dollars of federal contracts. In this link it describes how lavalin is involved in mutiple bribery trials, one which was dismissed because some judge (likely bribed himself) threw out incriminating wiretaps because they were issued on 'rumors'.

So dont look to our governments for honesty, honor or transparency. They are just another hog in the trough (no offense to hogs).

When a country takes in refugees they basically are survivalists in their own country they most often do not integrate well. A survivalist mentality is one of survival by any means and ways and in some of those seeming GOD forsaken countries, who could blame them. This is not a judgement on their culture or way of life but reality for many refugees.

Why they don't integrate well IMO and experience is that their mindset of indoctrination cannot change without many years of support and education. Just helping someone to learn to speak english and get menial work in the end is not sufficient enough in the process of integration.

All one has to do it look at our First Nations and the suppressive ways of integration for over 100 years. Oh yes we isolated them, took their children to educate or indoctrinate, kept reservations in deep poverty and just the basics, did not truly welcome them into society and nurture them to integration. It was basically shoved down their throats and the resistance is apparent till today and one cannot help but admire their strength and courage to hang onto their identity and heritage..

We have learned that culture is culture and tribes (all tribes) will find ways to band together for their sense of belonging and comfort and today most, no matter the relocation or migration have maintained their culture and traditions. That is why we have places such as Little Italy, China Town, Pakistan Village, etc. in all hubs and suburbs of bigger cities.

I have worked with many legal immigrants and their process is gruelling as although they might have a degree from their country it was not recognized here in Canada and thus many were expected to work for minimum wage of find ways to upgrade their education so that they could get degree recognition in their chosen field. I have worked with refugees from El Salvador...many were suffering from PTSD first and foremost. Seemed once they learned enough language there were expected to take any job they could get also. Refugees especailly are grieving losses that we can't begin to comprehend never mind do not speak the language of the country or have support systems they know and trust when they finally arrive.

The successful immigrants that I have met and have integrated well without losing their identity and heritage were usually sponsored by a family and or a church and had great supports and friendships throughout and still today from the minute they arrived.

The migrant situation is not one that can be managed with a bandaide approach as they are doing all around the world, including Canada. To do so is a lose-lose situation for the migrants, citizens and country.

Chaos is the name of the game it seems and what hell it is creating is heart breaking!!

David Icke made a fascinating point regarding Syria. Syria was a very happy, peaceful place with muslims and christians sharing holy buildings. The introduction of vast amounts of totally traumatised refugees brought in the traumatised energy and within a few years that traumatised energy had spread to the general population and civil war broke out. He thinks this was by design, and I tend to agree.

In Canada, with our small and aging population, it is very possible to outbreed the incumbents.

All numbers very approximate. Just for illustrational purposes.

Population of Canada: 35,000,000

let's say 5,000,000 are recent immigrants and refugees

of the remaining 30,000,000, population 15,000,000 have 1.2 children = 18,000,000

but the newcomers have 2,500,000 * 4 children each = 10,000,000

From these numbers it is easy to see that with just 15% of the breeding population, they contribute over 50% to the next generation. Interestingly, by the second generation this trend begins to reverse as the children of newcomers do integrate and take on the lifestyle of their peers - and their attitudes, including having less children.

Because of the small population and the large proportion of new Canadians this is a serious concern. Especially if the newcomers remain segregated and resist assimilation.

This was, is and will continue to be an issue in Canada.

Traumatized energy? I thought it was the US gov. Icke seems to be showing different color the past few months.

People still need to be manipulated in to creating the war.

I did this thread only because the refugees were victims and Canada was absolutely not prepared to receive such a large number of assylum seekers. Justin Trudeau may say that everyone is welcome, but we should have been ready to receive them.

What the MSM didnt tell us :

A deliberate misinformation campaign over social media is being blamed for the recent flood of Haitians illegally crossing into Canada.

Messages sent throughout the Haitian community in the U.S. reportedly told recipients that Canada was automatically accepting all Haitians. This supposed “WhatsApp hoax” even told them that Canada was paying the bill for all costs.

No wonder so many aspiring refugees have arrived on our doorstep in recent days...

I am pleased to receive them because they all deserve their place at the Sun and I thank the authorities of my province to do the best for them.

It's very clear from past experience that countries receiving significantly large numbers of refugees are going to be in trouble. As much as I hate to say it. There is no right answer in how to deal with this, sadly, but history suggests that letting in a significant amount of traumatised refugees puts a country in to decline.

Good luck.

MorningFox racism and bigotry are in all the world, is just that not all the people are racist or bigotor. Canada is quickly becoming like Sweden where if you speak against diversity a large portion of the country will disown you. Except that now with the migrant crisis, Swedish people are starting to see the errors they have made, now that their are migrant enclaves in places like Stockholm and cities that Swedish people (and police) don't go, like Malmo, for fear of being beaten by immigrants. I hope Justin Trudeau will take some lessons from Sweden drama. Maybe it is going to be different because we are loving and peaceful peoples over here have a look at this please : Canada's Syrian Refugees Raise Money to Help Fort McMurray Fire ...

Just Googled it!

I think they are bidding on future smuggled children of those rfugees, but that is just a hunch. So many went missing before they got to Germany England and Greece the last time, to the tune of 60,000 missing supposedly in authoriy care/stolen and missing now with no answers? Organ smuggling a young healthy kidney or liver or heart, has always been at the bottom of the missing children mystery. In my book, I call them MCB's. Milk Carton Babies. That's the earliest I remember seeing them at breakfast on the back of the milk cartons. in 60's.

Right now at this time, I think Swedish people may be considering the drastic drop in births for EU people and the current plagues hitting them. Over in UK they have a wh/crack and heroine epidemic as well as a few immune system attacks due to round-up over the years gardening in the water and soil. The drug epidemic is tenfold the one created by the US government under Bush 1. The GOP's majority leader is bringing in the cocaine through an Asian father-in-law and now KY is as addicted as a chain smoker to cigarettes, as these politicians in bed w/the devil, make new laws to steal freedom and oppress. Create the problem among the white community and everybody suffers. Funny the one thing that weans you off the opioids, is still illegal in the some states. Pot curbs the anxiety and stomach cramping in heroine addicted people as it gives them an appetite to eat regular vitamins and foods that also help w/depression. Discussion on why you picked up, the thingy they are running from. Be it responsibility from becoming a parent too soon, and the child support people riding you like an old nag, or someone in the family raping you and the issue pushed back in the mind to shield from the pain/trauma. Lots of that has been going on and no justice for the hurt children, so they see this as the only way to deal with the pain. I got raped 3 times, no justice and fell into the crack. 8 years of hell, I'll tell you, but YashaYah aka Christ gave me back my life, by taking the "taste" out of mind, body and soul. I am 26 years clean and don't even think about stepping back in those doodoo circles of insanity, jail or death.
