Well, somebody finally wrote in and asked me to sound off about the flat earth theory.. here's my initial attempt without trying to get anymore death threats or start a holy war! .I armed myself with rose-colored glasses and hit the cam..

"Get a telescope."
That was 2 seconds. I timed it. :)

Just a sidenote: if there is a dome, then stars and galaxies, nebulae et al would seem to be projected onto the dome surface for people to telescope at. With a proper amateur telescope, shouldn't you be able to zoom into the pixels of the projection? Or whatever components there are that make the picture? Oh well..

We have some relatively large and mid-to-high grade "amateur" telescope systems with high grade optical eyepieces and different imaging cameras and lenses.
Viewing or imaging the Moon's surface for close-ups, for example, is quite the challenge in itself.
Nebulas and galaxies require relatively long exposures of minutes or even hours to get any decent detail.
To "zoom into pixels of the projection", if indeed it is a projection, is asking a lot from amateur, earth-based telescopes due to atmospheric aberrations, light pollution and so on.

Nice vid Joe. I love your dead pan logic, it is refreshing to say the least. I used to do a lot of sailing and know from personal experience that the "earth" or "dome" if you prefer, is curved, as you see boats and ships "sink" on the horizon. I do think that the "flat earth" theory is a psy-op of some kind. My gut says that people buy into it because, on nearly every level you can point at or to, we HAVE been lied to.
We all remember the time as children that we realized for ourselves that we had been lied to about Santa Clause for example. A well meaning lie perhaps. But one perpetrated against us by everyone we knew, everyone we trusted, everyone we believed in. Perhaps like me you pretended to believe for a while after this realization, so that the presents didn't stop coming!! Lol. I think as adults when we see the scale of the lies about us, perpetrated by those we trusted, anything and everything could then be perceived as a lie. In this way even the stars above us and the ground beneath our feet could theoretically be a con too.
I think that the flat earth theory is an extreme reaction to this growing realization as awakening adults, that most if not all of what we "know" to be true, is debatable at best and a downright lie at worst. I agree that the shear scale of the scam / conspiracy is so huge as to be mind boggling. All that being said, why do you think that NASA lies to us? There is so much evidence of it, if you care to look, I wonder why. I don't believe in the flat earth theory, but I do think NASA is and has lied to us about a great many things, I just wonder why, to what end, for what purpose? Here's some interesting vids, not proof of anything, certainly not proof of a flat earth, but food for thought none the less... N

Nasu, you are spot on. Seriously, some of NASA's material is pure comedy gold - especially the interviews of women astronauts (with long hair) on the ISS, I couldn't stop laughing. Honestly, why couldn't they just ask these women to cut their hair short to make it appear more realistic? Because seeing their obviously hair sprayed manes was a dead giveaway. Especially when one bothers to compare to footage aboard real zero g plane flights - there are a few out there with female models. I only mention the models because you can observe how natural long hair freely floats about in a real zero g environment. Anyways, these attempts by NASA always give me a good chuckle.
Cheers,
TFS

I love those NASA vids, they are so cute in trying to game the world :)
Foxie- yep since you mentioned it, I looked into will rogers, and ya know, all I know is what I read in the papers :)

I just watched and posted this weeks video cast by David on another thread
and on the U'tube link was this vid , I tried to ignore it and have seen it
before and could not decide whether he agrees with it or not . So I have
just watched it again (twice) and I'm still not 100% sure as he answers
the question about contemplating the nature of the reality we are experiencing
in this possible simulation field we are decoding and interpreting.
The moral of this seems do not ask David a question expecting a simple answer...:sherlock:

The question of whether the earth is flat has been debates throughout human
history. In this video Dom Burgess explains how leading scientists pondered this
thought and the real science of the subject.

This article is surprising to me that it was on the web site at all, though

Spoiler: The Earth is not flat.
But US rapper B.o.B. is crowd-funding the launch of satellites to see
if he can get some evidence to the contrary. The rapper, whose real
name is Bobby Ray Simmons Jr, has been a vocal proponent of the
Flat Earth theory - the claim the Earth is, in fact, a disc and not spherical.
Some proponents of the Flat Earth theory claim NASA employees guard
the edge of the world to prevent people falling off.
Seeking to raise $200,000 (£150,000) on the GoFundMe crowd-funding
website, B.o.B refers to himself as "Flat Earth Bob". At the time of writing
he had raised a little over $650, but the campaign was trending on the
GoFundMe site.
'Show me the curve'
"I'm starting this GoFundMe because I would like to send one, if not multiple
satellites, as far into space as I can, or into orbit as I can, to find the curve,"
he said in a video on the page.
"I'm looking for the curve," he added.
The curve which B.o.B refers to is a recurring theme in Flat Earthers' conspiracy
theories. Adherents believe that, were the Earth actually round, then the curvature
of the Earth would be more visible to the naked eye.
