New Inventions and Technology
The purpose of this thread is to provide a location where Avalon members and guests can find out about the latest inventions, technologies, robotics and innovations. With more affordable automation, artificial intelligence, and faster internet we are already seeing new inventions and technologies easily outpace our ability to keep up.
The goal is to showcase new products and technologies with some discussion and clarification without getting too bogged down on any one item. Obviously, some new inventions and technologies will be so life-changing or controversial that they will require their own thread.

Here are several new inventions which are sure to change our lives:
Mind-Controlled Computing
Watching a video demonstration of Synchron’s Stentrode in action feels like watching something out of a science-fiction movie. A man sits at his computer, writing emails, texting and searching the Internet—but he never touches a key. Instead, he operates the machine with only his thoughts. Synchron has developed an endovascular brain-computer interface that can access every corner of the brain using its natural highways, the blood vessels. Synchron's breakthrough platform launches a new frontier for the treatment of neurological diseases. In just a few short years it could be moving into mainstream society.
3D Stargate Printers - Giant Rocket
Relativity Space is changing how rockets are built—by using a giant 3-D printer, called Stargate, to create them. The system produces fully reusable rockets in just 30-60 days—compared with two years or longer for traditional aerospace companies. Here is an incredible video of a giant rocket being printed.
3D Printers - Organs, Bone, Skin, Eyes
3D printing is set to revolutionise organ transplants and prosthetics. Researchers created the world's first 3D-printed heart using a patient's own cells and other biological materials, eliminating the risk of implant rejection. Scientists have also developed 3D-printed corneas, bone matrices and cartilage derived from stem cells, as well as 3D-printed skin cells. Here is a video which explains what is already being 3D printed and where the technology is going.
3D Printers - Food
it's not just medicine that 3D printing could benefit. The latest printing technique could be used to print food, ridding the world of food insecurity and mitigating global warming. According to the experts, the technology massively decreases food waste, cuts costs and streamlines supply chains, while 3D-printed meat, which has already arrived, could significantly reduce our reliance on livestock farming.

If they can 3d print a tooth they'll be billionaires, dentistry is the most corrupted and inane "medical" mafia around, next to pharmaceuticals.

Apparently not. Even if it makes "clinical, economical, and business sense" :P
