Death of the MSM 'News' on TV
I don't see a thread on this and thought it might be entertaining, at least it is for me. :)
I was doing some research to try and predict when the legacy dinosaur news on TV will die off or become basically obsolete. Please add any good data charts or whatever you can find that helps clarify the trend from past, present to future, so we can make a good forecast.
This first graph is from Statistica. Sorry, its the best I could do without having an account. the first bar should be 2014 and the last bar 2021 data. It shows the TV marketshare (%) for global ad spending.
Attachment 48659
This graph shows that the marketshare went from 40% in 2014 to 28% in 2021. An interesting trend, but just because the marketshare is going down a lot doesn't mean the overall revenue is, since the internet media is growing. Theoretically, projecting out in the future, that TV ad marketshare would reach 0% by about 2037 - 2038.
So, although it is nice to see that the idiot box TV is losing marketshare pretty fast, next lets look at the Global TV ad revenue from 2015 to 2024.
Attachment 48660
For perspective, here is what it said below the graph.
"according to the calculations, the revenue from TV advertising worldwide is expected to reach 159 billion U.S. dollars in 2022, up from 151 billion generated in 2021 and increase of 17 billion on 2020, the year when the pandemic caused large declines in advertising spending over the world. A different source projected that TV would account for 26 percent of the global ad revenue in 2022. It would be the second largest advertising medium that year, behind the internet."
You can see the dip in revenue in 2020 but it jumps back to close to normal by 2021. The future data from 2022 and beyond is obviously a guess.
So, this is a bit sad and surprising to see that there isnt a trend in TV ad revenue loss yet. Not sure how that is possible since so many young people have unplugged the TV. however, while thinking a bit deeper, given inflation, that steady nearly 0 slope trend I guess would translate to about a 3% decline each year. We could call it 2% to play it conservatively. Using the rule of 70, then it would get cut in half every 23 years at 3% decline and every 35 years at 2%.
However, I can't see non internet TV lasting that long. Not sure if TV just gets integrated into the web or what since all will be smart TV eventually.
to be continued....

Re: Death of the MSM 'News' on TV
I guess the death of traditional TV and MSM TV news are both relevant.
We also need to consider ratings trends for FOX, CNN, etc. on TV. It wasn't easy for me to quickly figure this out in a short search. If anyone else has good data on this, please post. I will try to tackle this later if nobody else does. Of course, these networks also have an online presence, so we can look into their web traffic trends as well for any good news of their imminent death. lol
The companies that own them are so big, that I doubt we can look at loss of profits of those companies or whatever.
Here is one more interesting graph that is related to the first post i made. Im sure some other nerds will find it interesting :) Ban newspapers already for crying out loud. What a waste of trees. lol

Looks like digital marketshare will be 50% somewhere around the middle to late part of this decade.
I assume the legacy media will be propped up by our money (grrrrr) or shadow money for some time if they ever get into financial trouble. I suppose by the time that happens, some red alarm will go off in the cabals smokey room to signal a time for clamping down hard before the MSM hypnosis fails. Perhaps that has already started :)

Re: Death of the MSM 'News' on TV
Here is some Alexa trafffic data for CNNs website over the past 90 day. Unfortunately, Im not sure how to see the past 10 years or whatever. Maybe need to pay for that.
We can see that in the past 90 days they have ranked globally between 90th and 113th most viewed. I assume the war has moved them up from 113th back up to 90th. Lets say they are currently at ~100th.
Attachment 48662
I did find this article from 2019 which shows CNN ranked 68th in traffic with 470 million visits per month. So, that is a bit of a positive sign that their web traffic is falling some :) On that same chart the 100th place website is sitting at about 330 million views. If my numbers are correct, that's a 30% loss in web traffic for CCN in 2-3 years. Yay. lol I picked CNN, since I think we agree the death of these liberal woke medias is the best sign of awakening from the media trance? Although, cancelling all of them is even better :)

Re: Death of the MSM 'News' on TV
Market share from me dropped 100% 15 months ago when I cancelled my TV service and I have 2 ad blockers on my computer. I'll go looking for something when I'm in the market and I don't get bombarded every 6 minutes with crap I don't want or need.
And I can't tell you how liberating it feels.
Re: Death of the MSM 'News' on TV
Haha. Yea wreck the MSM train.
One other thing to consider is that the ratings don't account for the people who watch the news to learn what garbage lies we are supposed to believe. How many watch MSM news out of habit but don't believe anything that has agendas. They could just be watching it for the sports, weather or who got killed today. How many just leave the TV on all day and aren't watching it.
The amount of mind controlled people watching the propaganda MSM news could be much lower than it appears, due to the above cases.
Re: Death of the MSM 'News' on TV
I live in the UK where we all have to pay a tribute to the BBC, which we have stopped. I've removed the ariel from the roof & the sat dish is next.
I know other people over 50 that have also ditched TV & the MSM.
That said the control that google has over the internet is nothing short of evil, hence their BS motto.
The control of the media here is visible by the ubiquitous dispay of Ukrainian flags everywhere, I very much doubt they back neo nazis & genocide, they just don't have a clue.
PS great thread Merkaba 360

Re: Death of the MSM 'News' on TV
I see this as part of a die-off of an unworkable system.
Not a single person that I deal with has ever made any kind of issue about Coronavirus or Russia. I don't really ask around, but, none of this has become in-your-face, around here, yet. Maybe by next year, a lot of them will openly despise the press and government. Maybe! It is not out of reach.
I have to echo Blacklight43, liberation in this case is very sweet. Sometimes it is hard to know how sick you are because you have become de-sensitized. It is strange, because there used to be a lot of bumper stickers almost forty years ago:
Kill your TV.
And we do not see that many messages like this anymore either. I think everything has almost been relegated to just sticking a campaign sign in your yard. Nothing very strong one way or another.
Considering the decline in available information these days, could we just call MSM The Censor? I am not sure which is worse, the one story or the way it is "dramatized", but it's all going to oblivion.

Re: Death of the MSM 'News' on TV
Above I showed that the global TV ad revenue spending looks essentially level. Which could be a slow decrease given inflation. I assume there is a strong correlation between ad spending and viewership. I would think the ad money would decrease if their are less consumers watching right?
Maybe it is better to analyze the western media alone, since that is sort of the leading edge on awakening and resistance toward the TV news liars. As an American, I will mainly analyze the US media.
We got the Local news (ABC, NBC, CBS) and the cable news (Fox, MSNBC, CNN). I dont follow them, so not sure how many others there are, but those are the main culprits. lol
I will deal with cable news for now, not local news. First lets look at cable TV in general. How quickly is U.S. pay TV losing subscribers? I assume pay TV = Cable + Satellite.
Attachment 48665
This graph only goes to 2016. 2017 and 2018 is expected. Which appears that the expected turned out to be wrong as we will see in a jiffy. Notice the subscribers was growing until about 2012. Much of that growth was due to the population growth. From 2013 onward was the beginning of the end decline :)
this site has some interesting data on pay/cable TV statistics.
https://www.cablecompare.com/blog/ca...-cable-tv-dead
On that site they say that 6 million people cut the cord in 2020. But that doesn't quite make sense given the following:
"Share of adults who subscribe to a cable TV service U.S. 2019-2021. During a survey held in May 2021, 44 percent of respondents stated that their household was currently subscribed to a cable television service, compared to 47 percent who said the same in a study conducted in January 2019."
A 3% drop of say 200 million U.S. adults would be 6 million. But that is from 2019 to 2021, a 2 year change.
In 2021, the total subscribers was around 89-90 million. So, that would mean the total subscribers in 2019ish was at least 95 million. Remember 2016 was 99.2 million from the graph above.
Im curious to see how low this will go due to poverty from covid and such. I wonder how many subscribers are needed before there isnt enough money to fund all those channels and some channels start to pack it up.
On wikipedia I found the number of subscribers for just cable TV (not satellite) from 1990 to 2015. We can see that this aligns with the Pay TV graph. Around 2012 is when the decline started. I guess the mayans were predicting the end of the cable TV world lol
