Follow the toxic money

There is one branch of the multina(s)tional corporations whose profit is very close to Big Pharma, namely Big Cosmetics.
Very often these branches borrow both knowledge and employees from another.
I have tried to investigate superficially reviews of what exists of information about these corporations without too much luck.

It is time to put this particularly branch in the limelight and ask oneself their motives and where the money goes.

I have been working in this business for 17 years and seen changes unbelievable during that time.
Five years ago I did not had the consciousness to continue be a part of it, learning more and more, deceiving consumers on a daily basis and promptly quitted for another career even though I had to say goodbye to good money and start all over again.
Since I am adequate interested and competent in chemistry and cell biology I had heard the alarm bells ringing for some years, but choose to ignore them.

Foremost mostly of all larger brands (yes, even most “natural”, plant based and some “organic” brands) have deliberately and knowingly for profit and/or reasons unknown put chemicals into beauty products they knowingly, but kept a very tight secret, are mildly to severe harmful to the human organism.

Examples are additives known to femalize male foetuses (oestrogen mimicking chemicals), retard early, healthy development in both sexes (all kinds of hygiene products, lotions, creams, hair products, hair dyes, make-up etc.) and developing children (last twenty – thirty years especially synthetic SPF’s).
Unknowingly mothers have put their unborn and younger children in good faith at risk.

Did you know that every time you apply your Anti-Perspirant you get one small step closer to have a chance to develop Alzheimer disease? The “Anti-Perspirant” part is made of different kinds of aluminum salts readily absorbed into your body trough your skin (remind yourself that the skin under your arms is the thinnest on your body and is like a sponge for chemicals). Guess what aluminum does to the brain.

Cosmetic companies have knowingly put additives in their beauty products they suspected or knew upset both sexes hormone systems and may have helped severely raise breast cancer in women worldwide (oestrogen mimicking receptor binding).

Even the container cosmetics come in (as also goes for most foods) are either lined on the inside with plastic or comes in plain plastic containers which often contains the very slow biodegradable chemical group Phtalates (plastic softeners) which we now can find contaminating every corner of the planet. These chemicals feminize male animals, reduce fertility in both sexes and should most likely have the same effect on humans.

There are roughly five major cosmetic companies (not pure hygiene products producing companies included) in the world today – one major in north America, two major in Europe and to major in Asia.
If you use any kind of cosmetics/toiletries you will almost certainly have one or more of these slowly poisoning products in your shelves.
They have many different brand names with its own profile thus not creating competition between their own independent subbrands.

What you must understand is that these five major multicorps have bought and are still buying smaller good doing brands which initially had good intentions creating their cosmetics.

More important: Understand that every brand which clearly label their products “Not tested on animals” does not test the end product on animals, but single, new ingredients are initially yet tested on animals by some companies (or their suppliers).

One describing example to better their image and get profit from all classes of consumers is the L’Oreal group buying Body Shop (which when went commercial anyway started using harmful additives, knowingly or not, years ago).
Just a few years back the L’Oreal group where notoriously testing ingredients and end products on animals.
L’Oreal brands: L’Oreal Paris, Garnier, Biotherm, Lancôme, La Roche-Posay, Helena Rubinstein, Kerastase, major do-it-yourself hair dyes and Body Shop!! to name some.

The other major international groups are not better in their hunt for your dollars. On top level they all lack ethics despite their efforts to "Breast cancer awarenss" campaign and the like.
It is as you all know about that green, worthless papernote or those fake digits in the bank.

A north-American worldwide distributed major make-up brand still (unnecessary as we now can test ingredients/products in laboratory on human tissue) use end product testing on animals (especially masacras – pun intended). And that one is the only one I know for certain do it.

Some of the larger cosmetics group have started using alternative preservatives after consumer boycott and protests. Still yet – we do not know the effect and safety of these new preservatives. They may even be more poison then their predecessors.

In Denmark they have outright forbidden by law some preservatives and I guess the other Scandinavian contries are soon to follow.

The biggest and most poison sinners in cosmetics are to my knowledge:

- Preservatives.
Cosmetics should be made and treated as fresh produce and not be able to have a long shelve life in the heat from glorifying lamplights.
Difficult, yes, but at least never buy a product containing butylparabene
(in Europe it is mandatory in any cosmetics to list the ingredients in descending order from most to least down until 0.03%)

- Anti-oxidants for preserving the product itself from oxidizing so the product smells fresh when opened.
This does NOT apply to anti-oxidants targeted for the skins benefit.

- Synthetic SPF’s. Very naughty chemicals – avoid at all costs.
Instead look for SPF’s only made with physically blocking/reflecting UV-rays as micronized zinc oxide and titanium oxide (sometimes found in SPF's for children (Clarins) - or even better: Weleda).

Dyes, perfumes, “fillers” (to make the product feel right and luxurious), non-organic silicones, plastics (one example is nylon – yes, plastics are very common to give that whipped, fluffy consistency you love so much) and other derivatives from a lot of different sources are on my potentially hazardous list.

Most of the chemicals mentioned above all come from one source: petrochemicals – crude oil.
No wonder we are not allowed to use free energy!

In the end: my motive for writing this is that I have hardly seen this topic mentioned before anywhere. I am talking about a business with profits of trillions of dollars worldwide a year.
I very much neither believe the elite can nor will keep their clepto tentacles away from such a lucrative business. And by the way – two birds with one rock – lets kill the people slowly trough their vanity as well as trough food, water and all the other kinds of pollution.
Then the sum of it all will be bigger than the single factor.
I feel ill.

I've read a little about this issue and I too am concerned. I try to make my former wife and teenage girls understand the risks, but they just ignore me and put on an extra layer of chemicals.

I have tons of more information on this topic and chemicals to avoid or examples of products witouth hazardous chemicals. The posting was long enough - so you may rather ask questions and I will answer to my best of knowledge.
I must mention that so called "Natural Rock Deodorants/Anti-perspirants" also consists of aluminum salts however it is man made or carved out from rocks.

I also have recipes (not the usual banana and avocado, honey face masks) to gladly share with you if you would like.

PS! Just curious - is it mandatory to list ingredients on cosmetics in USA and Canada? Or are they stil using the "excuse" of keeping the recipes a secret to avoid copycats?

Fresh lemon is really the best odour-stopper I´ve ever tried. There is no deodorant that kills odour as effective. Period. And I have tried them all.
Not that I have a "problem", but my wife told me that I have never smelled so good and natural as when i´m using lemon. Also collodial silver can be used, not as effective though.

Great video - sums it up nicely. I must warn you that any brand labeled "anti-perspirant" contains aluminum. That is what's making them anti-perspirants. Rather look for deodorants and check the ingredient list for aluminum salts or as suggested by Metaphor lemon (peel/pulp).

I use high end deodorant sticks I know does not contain aluminum salts like Chanels deodorants for Men - expensive, but goes a long way (have chemichals in them too, but non absorbable and the same as in natural essential oils and thus not hazardous unless you are allergic to them).

Really foresighted of you.
I make my own too now - and share with family and friends. All natural cleansers, toners, mists, fluid creams, serums, shampoos, conditioners etc. for acne, anti-aging and all other skin conditions.
