Russian Tu-22M3 bombers launched a missile strike on Zmeiny Island - today

The Kh-22s are carried by Tu-22M3 bombers, which, according to the Telegram channel "Military Observer", took off from an airfield in the Murmansk region. The strike was accompanied by powerful explosions, which, according to Ukrainian sources, were heard even in Odessa.

The operation on Zmeinoye was part of a broader campaign by the Russian Aerospace Forces aimed at weakening Ukraine’s military potential. In recent months, Russia has stepped up strikes on Ukrainian military facilities in response to the increasing frequency of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory. On the night of June 9, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, air defense forces destroyed 49 Ukrainian drones over several regions, including the Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, and Chuvashia regions.
