Saudis did not join Red Sea alliance out of fear, Israeli media say

Israeli media reveals the stance of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on joining the maritime alliance in the Red Sea formed by the United States and its allies to undermine Yemen's operations in support of the Palestinian people.

The Yemeni Armed Forces' operations in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, targeting ships bound for Israeli ports in occupied Palestine or Israeli-owned vessels, have had resounding effects all over the world.

Sanaa said no ships bound for occupied Palestine nor any Israeli vessels would be allowed to pass through the Red Sea until aid is allowed to enter Gaza as the stifling blockade on the Strip continues to claim more lives and worsen the living conditions of the Palestinian people.

Israeli media has disclosed the position of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates regarding joining the maritime alliance in the Red Sea to address threats from Yemen.

Kan Arab affairs commentator Roi Kaiss said the sole Arab country that explicitly joined the US-formed alliance, with one Bahraini source reportedly telling him that it was due to the fifth fleet of the US navy in Bahrain.

Saudi Arabia, he added, has not joined Prosperity Guardian as earlier reports indicated it sought an end to its war on Yemen.

According to Kais, Saudi Arabia was seeking an agreement to end its war on Yemen completely, but it also refrained from joining the alliance because it was afraid of being attacked due to its collaboration with the hostile parties attempting to disrupt regional stability.

The Arab affairs commentator said the UAE has confirmed that it was considering joining the maritime alliance in the Red Sea but only if the United States approves a significant strike against Sanaa.

Operation Prosperity Guardian

In response to Yemen's operations, whose aim is to allow the entry of aid to Gaza, and under the guise of securing international maritime trade routes, the US military launched "Operation Prosperity Guardian" late on Monday.

The US Department of Defense announced that its "security initiative" will work under the umbrella of the Combined Maritime Forces and the leadership of its Task Force 153.

The United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles, and Spain, will be among the countries jointly working with the Pentagon to "address security challenges in the southern Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, with the goal of ensuring freedom of navigation for all countries and bolstering regional security and prosperity," the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said.

According to the Associated Press, which cited an unnamed defense official, several other countries have also agreed to be involved in the operation, however, they prefer not to be named.

The United Kingdom, France, Spain, and the United States already have substantial naval presence in the region, with the US leading the coalition in terms of the number of and quality of deployed naval assets.

YAF imposes siege on "Israel"

In recent days, both Western media and shipping conglomerates have attempted to frame the YAF's operations as a threat to international trade. However, Yemen's military has made it clear, in every statement announcing a strike on a vessel, that its operations only target ships heading to Israeli ports or Israeli-owned ships. The YAF has also reassured all other vessels of safe travels if they successfully identify their final destinations.

US' CENTCOM has also participated in a misinformation campaign, seeking to vilify Sanaa's support to the Palestinian people. Coinciding with an announcement made by the YAF on Saturday, regarding an attack on Israeli targets in "Eilat" in southernmost occupied Palestine, CENTCOM said that it "shot down" several attack drones "with no damage to ships in the area or reported injuries."

The statement presumed that the drones endangered vessels in the Red Sea, which was refuted by the YAF's statement.

Israeli forces execute 15 Palestinians in Gaza City home: Sources

Israeli occupation forces cold-bloodily executed 15 people at the Annan family's residence in the northern Gaza Strip, sources confirmed to Al Mayadeen.

The family urged humanitarian international organizations to visit the site of the atrocity, which occurred near Burj al-Jalaa in Gaza City. Israeli occupation forces left behind a number of martyrs and wounded several others, in front of children and women in the residence.

Countless war crimes have been committed by "Israel" in its war on the Gaza Strip since October 7. Residential areas pounded to the ground and civilians scattered on Gaza's roads have become a familiar occurrence, which speaks to the brutality of the Israeli occupation.

Moreover, multiple testimonies from within the Strip have confirmed that Israeli occupation forces are executing civilians in the northern Gaza Strip, where occupation forces have set up command areas.

On December 17, Israeli tanks and bulldozers raided the Kamal Adwan Hospital, running down Palestinian refugee tents and burying Palestinians alive, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported.

The incident is not an isolated one, as medical institutions have become a constant target of Israeli raids, airstrikes, and bombardment.

Concurrently, with the news of the IOF's execution of civilians in Gaza City, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes raided the city of Rafah, in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip, targeting several residential buildings, killing and injuring a number of Palestinians.

On the other hand, the Palestinian Resistance continues to confront Israeli occupation forces in the Khan Younis district, just to the north of Rafah. Simultaneously, Israeli artillery units heavily shelled the southern district, causing several casualties among the Palestinian population.

Further north, a residential building, near the Jabalia Club Services, was targeted with an Israeli airstrike.

This morning, Israel's military detonated over 50 houses in Shejaiya, Gaza.

In this video, cries of civilians can be heard while being annihilated. Israeli media quoted the military as saying that the main reason behind the filmed crime was that it wanted "those who stand in Nahal Oz and Kfar Gaza to see in front of them that Shejaiya is flattened."

Al-Qassam's Ghoul sniper rifles mark Palestinian excellency

Al-Qassam Brigades released cinematic footage of the production process of its "Ghoul" anti-materials sniper rifle, on Wednesday.

The footage took the internet by storm, as enthusiastic supporters of the Palestinian Resistance, toured a military production room of Hamas' military wing. Although much is unknown about these production rooms, the military media has brought to light some of the production processes in footage released since October 7, as part of its psychological warfare targeting the Israeli enemy.

Such facilities are responsible for producing weapons, ranging from small firearms to long-rage artillery rockets that can hit targets 250 km away.

Interestingly, this is the first time that the Brigades reveal, in detail, the production process of the Ghoul rifle, which has been named in honor of martyr Engineer Adnan al-Ghoul, a senior al-Qassam official assassinated by "Israel" in 2004.

Silencing critics

In fact, the Ghoul sniper rifle was first introduced in 2014, during "Israel's" failed invasion of the Gaza Strip. Western media outlets paid special attention to the firearm, which highlighted a huge leap in the Resistance's production capabilities.

At the time, outlets such as the US-based The Washington Post led a media campaign, falsely claiming that the Palestinian Resistance had not acquired the knowledge or expertise to produce such a weapon. The WP published an article, in August of 2014, alleging that the Ghoul is actually the Austrian-made Steyr HS.50 anti-materials sniper rifle.

Although the two rifles are extremely similar, since the Ghoul is a reverse-engineered rifle, the article produced no credible evidence that the al-Qassam Brigades had not produced their own version of the anti-materials rifle.

"Hamas’ claim to have indigenously manufactured this rifle is totally false — from what is visible on the video, it’s clearly an Austrian Steyr HS.50 rifle," Charles Lister, told WP at the time. The Western propagandist said that Hamas probably bought the rifle off of the black market, attempting to belittle the engineering capabilities of the Palestinian Resistance faction.

"While the Qassam Brigades might achieve some level of internal morale boost by claiming things like this, the blatant falsity apparent to experts suggests a level of desperation on Hamas’ part," Lister told WP.

More than nine years after Lister's "expert" remarks, al-Qassam Brigades released the footage titled, "We will continue to kill your soldiers by our locally manufactured snipers," to put all doubts to bed and silence critics.

Ghoul rifle specifications

The single-shot bolt-action rifle was first manufactured to fire 14.5x114 mm cartridges, according to information released by al-Qassam Brigades in 2014. The Brigades also stated that the first iteration of the Ghoul had an effective range of 2 km and anti-materials capabilities.

The updated version of the Ghoul rifle has kept its anti-materials capabilities, as seen in the video published by al-Qassam on December 20. In fact, rounds fired at steel targets penetrated the targets and exploded upon impact.

The newly updated version of the Ghoul rifle uses 12.7x99 mm rounds, similar to the Steyr HS. 50 rifle. The cartridges are also locally produced, as seen in the footage, where al-Qassam fighters work on shaping and filling the rounds, to produce a final product that has dropped Israeli soldiers in Gaza.

The casing of the bullet reads "QASSAM 12.7" matching the Ghoul's receiver which reads "Qassami Ghoul Sniper Rifle."

Adnan al-Ghoul

The Ghoul sniper rifle was deployed on several occasions in the Gaza Strip, specifically on December 5 and 7. In total, al-Qassam fighters confirmed hits on 10 Israeli occupation soldiers to the east of Khan Younis in these two days. In one operation, several snipers shot down at least six soldiers in one area in the al-Rannah axis to the northeast of the city of Khan Younis.

Al-Qassam fighters, through their successful targeting of Israeli occupation forces in 2014 and 2023, have engraved al-Ghoul's name and legacy into stone. The senior engineer and commander was assassinated by an Israeli attack helicopter "leaving behind his work, knowledge, and jihad," al-Qassam's military media wrote in a memorial published this year on the anniversary of his martyrdom.

"Abu Bilal" left behind a number of student engineers who carried on his legacy and worked on producing the Ghoul anti-materials sniper rifle.

A commonality among Resistance factions in Palestine is commemorating the names of their greatest martyrs by naming locally produced devices and weapons after them. Indeed, naming the anti-material rifle after Adnan al-Ghoul ensured "that even after his martyrdom, [the Resistance leader's] name continues to haunt the [Israeli] occupiers, who believed that with his death, they would find relief from his [acts of Resistance]."

If it is not obvious yet, neither the Persian Gulf nor the Red Sea belong to America. Here is partly why:

And, we cannot call this a "state" since the de jure government controls about 20% of the territory. This is just a grassroots populist movement in de facto control of about 80% of ersatz Yemen. The Tyrant of Niger was just "recognized". Is Yemen a "country" yet? I don't know.

However I have heard that they have already put trainees through General Mobilization and are prepared to ground assault in the direction of Gaza under the nebulous terms "when conditions are right"--I think that means tomorrow as soon as they can figure out how to keep the Saudis out of their hair--or, perhaps they could travel on the captured car carrier. Could it be? It could be.

I, personally, would like to see western ships such as the "Fruity Pebbles" and the "Dog of Charybdis" used as Houthi ferries for the invasion of Judea. Not sure it would work. They are big targets. So, it may just be thousands of volunteers who *would* do it, although they lack either a country to declare war, or, a viable means of access.

That is fairly similar to the American bases. A 3,000 man base sounds big--and it is expensive--but even a *lot* of these are ineffective against a modern rival of any size--so no America is not and never will be in a position to militarily swamp another one of these countries. Likewise, I have no idea how the Houthis might approach Israel without the assistance of a country.

I am also a little surprised that 4/5 of the largest shipping companies in the world would suddenly run away.

In a certain sense, that may be the most "powerful" thing I have ever heard of.

Capitalists like to have their military enforcement.

The way to kill all the Muslims is to tell them countries like Norway and Spain are going to "secure international shipping", they are going to laugh so hard they will just suffocate.

Maybe "another 9/11" will turn off the effects of the first one. Smash about 3,000 Americans down to the bottom of the Red Sea where no bloody Moses will part it, along with a smattering of their international coalition making it resemble the personnel that were originally expended, and this time we can say "they signed up for that". Then there will be a snap and public consciousness will reject all this violence.

Sir Tony Blair will reportedly meet with Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the ongoing war in Gaza, a minister has revealed.

The former prime minister, 70, is part of the ongoing effort to ensure that the UK's concerns over how Israel is conducting its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip are 'well-ventilated', Andrew Mitchell, the minister for development and Africa, said in the Commons on Tuesday.

'There have been regular discussions between our prime minister and prime minister Netanyahu,' he told MPs, following a question from Slough's MP, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, about whether the UK has been working to get Israel and Hamas to agree to a ceasefire.
Also the foreign secretary has been part of those discussions too. I think Sir Tony Blair is seeing prime minister Netanyahu shortly too,' he added.

Despite not being directly on the frontlines of politics anymore, Blair has been given the blessing of the UK government to get involved in unofficial talks with Netanyahu, The Times reported, quoting a government source who said: 'He knows Netanyahu very well and is a force for good.'

What could possibly go wrong . . . ?
