- Is $33 Billion in U.S. Funding to Ukraine Going To Nazi's?
Here we go into the Humpty Dumpty moment of re-gobbled industries and resources.
Today there is a slight repercussion to once-important former special ally France:
MOSCOW, May 16. /TASS/. The shares of Renault Russia have been transferred to the government of the city of Moscow, and NAMI, a state-backed research center, has become the owner of Renault’s stake in Avtovaz, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its Telegram channel.
The Moscow government will now own 100% of shares of Renault Russia, while Renault's 67,69% interest in Avtovaz will be sold to NAMI, the ministry said in a statement.
Avtovaz will continue to assemble the whole product range of Lada cars at its plants, and the automaker will offer Renault car maintenance services on the Russian market.
The deal included a six-year option to buy back Renault’s stake in Avtovaz, the ministry’s press service said.
"By transferring Group Renault’s stake to state ownership [Russia] would be able to maintain its control of Avtovaz and ensure the company’s operability amid sanctions," the press service quoted Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov as saying. The move would also allow the company to maintain its key competencies, production cycle and save jobs, he added.
Maybe next year Russia will sell vehicles to France, and they can get gas in Rubles. Who knows what will really happen. A Renault was actually the first kind of car that I road around in. Shortly followed by a Vega and a Gremlin!! Nobody else can do that. Here's something they can do, a relatively close neighbor hacked about all this financial paving.
Marjorie Green (R - GA) gave a tirade about Joe's Ukrainian offer versus baby formula.
"40 billion dollars, but there's no baby formula for American mothers and babies", Taylor Greene stressed, also condemning the bill's provision of "an unknown amount of money to the CIA" and other boondoggle projects in the Ukraine. "If this is claiming that it's about saving lives, let's be real. Then we would care about war-torn countries like Ethiopia. So that's a bunch of hypocrisy".
The baby formula crisis began in February, when drug firm Abbott recalled several products over suspected contamination linked to cases of serious illness, including two babies who died.
Some 11,000 shops across the US have reported that 40 percent of formula brands have been out of stock since 24 April, with drug store chain Walgreens limiting shoppers to three containers each per trip. Tubs of powder are selling for inflated prices on online marketplaces such as Ebay, while families hoard supplies and swap tips on where to buy more in Internet chat groups.
"MTG" accused the government and Congress of "completely ignoring our own border crisis, our own baby formula crisis and brutal inflation, skyrocketing gas prices that no-one can afford".
"Stop funding regime change and money laundering scams, and US politician cover-ups of their crimes in countries like Ukraine", MTG demanded. "The American people do not support paying for constant US involvement in foreign affairs while our own government fails our own country".
In another tweet, Taylor Greene accused fellow lawmakers of betraying their own country.
"We swore an oath to serve the United States of AMERICA", she posted. "Not the United States of Ukraine".
"American mothers can’t buy baby formula, deadly fentanyl from Mexican cartels is killing record numbers of Americans, & farmers are on the verge of going out of business. Focus on HOME!"
MTG's denunciation of Biden's attempt to prolong the bloodshed in the Ukraine drew praise from unlikely quarters.
"I was waiting for the part where I would disagree with her.... never got to it", tweeted left-wing former RT US correspondent Caleb Maupin. "We are living in a bizarre alternate political universe".
They almost have a motto there, "No U. S. of Ukraine", and we could describe Republicans as those who want the U. S. to dominate the U. N. and NATO, whereas the current conflict, heavily ripped along party lines, features the Democrats, who are more interested in the U. S. as a captive part of the international framework. Although one does not really agree with the Republicans, if the second party is effectively thwarted, then, I would think the vision of a somewhat "independent" U. S. as the dominator or dictator is not going to follow through either.
If those are both talking points of how Capitalism suppresses Labor either way, then, the whole thing cannot go the direction it was.

Many Rumors and not enough Facts
While battles are raging, factual reports are few. This is fog of war and it is better not to report on the minutiae that are still being decided on the battlefield. Here is a short machine translation from Readovka but what they report as areas or towns taken by the Russian forces needs to be taken with a pinch of salt at this stage. One fact and many rumors
- On the fronts. In the north of the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not abandon attempts to break through to the border. The enemy has no other real results on this part of the front.
- On the Izyum part of the front, in almost all directions, our troops are making progress. In the Barvenkovsky direction, fighting is currently underway near the locality of Gusarovka. And we assume that they are about to spread to Barvenkovo itself. Dolgenkoe is ours, the fighting has moved to the south. It is reported that in the vicinity of Krasny Liman, the APU is pouring in, our troops have occupied Drobyshevo and Aleksandrovka, and there are battles near the Estuary itself. From Yampol, the line moved to the village of Dibrovo.
- Near Belogorovka, the fighting for the bridgehead continues with ferocity. There are battles on the outskirts of Severodonetsk, the APU blew up a railway bridge in the direction of Rubizhne. North of Popasnaya, successful progress, expanding the safe zone around the city. In the north, they advanced beyond Kamyshevakha. Near Donetsk, there is fighting along the entire line, there is an advance in two places, there is an assault on the outskirts of New York and the Avdiivka-Konstantinovka highway.
- On the Zaporozhye part of the front there are no changes.
- It’s the same on the Southern Front. New details of the battle for Zmeiny Island have emerged, and the whole puzzle has been solved, although we still have some questions.
Fact: Nine Ukrainian soldiers who left the territory of the blocked Azovstal plant in Mariupol represented the interests of a larger group and asked for negotiations, said Alexander Khodakovsky, founder of the Vostok Battalion (DPR).
“Now a lively stage of negotiations is underway. It was just the first group leaving. As it turned out, the group left, representing the interests of a larger group that continues to be at Azovstal,” Khodakovsky said on the air of the 60 Minutes program on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
Rumor: There are rumors over the radio networks that the Ukrainians will mass surrender if Azovstal surrenders. I stress this is rumor. It looks like this from many sources:At 17.30 the mass surrender of the AFU will begin from Azovstal, the radio airwaves are buzzing with NEWS all over the front…16.05.2022.This is one source:

Ukrainians are calling for AWOL commanders that left them in the field. This is broadly reported and at least in Lugansk confirmed by the Russian MoD as follows:
Let us see what facts we receive over the next 24 hours.
- Military medics of the Central MD, together with their civilian colleagues from the Lugansk People’s Republic, continue to provide the necessary medical assistance to civilians.
- Assistance is also provided to captive AFU servicemen left by their commanders on the battlefield after retreat.
- Russian servicemen use Linza armored ambulance to evacuate casualties from the combat zone.
Remember when the word was propagandized in terms of courage!

Now, its like a dirty word
Major news is emerging from Azovstal. We can expect to hear much more about this today.
Ukraine orders Azovstal fighters to surrender
The units have “completed the assigned combat mission,” Kiev claims
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed via its social media networks on Tuesday evening that its servicemen holed up at the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol have been ordered to surrender.
“The garrison ‘Mariupol’ has completed the assigned combat mission. The highest military command issued an order to the commanders of the units located at Azovstal to save the lives of the personnel,” the Ukrainian military statement explained.
According to Kiev, while holding positions at Azovstal, its soldiers prevented Russian troops from operating in other theaters.
The two countries have been embroiled in a full-blown conflict since February, when Moscow attacked the neighboring state, following an eight-year standoff over the fate of the Donbass.
Kiev insisted that the Azov neo-Nazis and members of its regular forces had “prevented the implementation of the [alleged Russian] plan for the quick capture of [nearby] Zaporozhye, and did not allow access to the administrative border of the Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions.”
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that work on their return will require “delicacy and time.”
“Thanks to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, intelligence, as well as the negotiating group, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN, we have hope that we will be able to save the lives of our guys. I want to emphasize that Ukraine needs Ukrainian heroes alive. This is our principle. I think that every adequate person will understand these words. To bring our military back home, the work continues, and this work requires delicacy and time,” he stated.
A large portion of them are members of the neo-Nazi Azov Regiment. The military uniforms of the group feature Nazi insignia and its members have been photographed with tattoos of symbols such as the swastika. Its first commander, Andrey Biletsky, has said he believes it’s Ukraine’s mission to “lead the white races of the world in a final crusade… against Semite-led Untermenschen [inferior humans].”
The first stage of surrender was completed on Monday – 264 soldiers left Azovstal. There are now 53 wounded servicemen in a hospital in Novoazovsk and 211 soldiers in Yelenovka, both of which are part of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Russian sources have estimated that about 2,200 people have been trapped in the basements of the huge Azovstal complex. The site is 11 square kilometers long and its subterranean sections are designed to withstand a nuclear attack.
According to the deputy minister of defense of Ukraine, Anna Malyar, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, those who surrender will be exchanged for Russian prisoners of war taken captive by Kiev. However, the terms of the exchange have not yet been decided.
Moscow has not yet made any public statements about an exchange. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian side has tried to avoid the use of the expression ‘surrender’.
After the last Ukrainian soldier leaves Azovstal, the battle for Mariupol will be effectively over and Russia will have gained total control of the strategically vital city.

- From the false headline down, the Washington Post report on the issue is a master piece of propaganda:Ukraine ends bloody battle for Mariupol, evacuates Azovstal fighters
Ukrainian fighters have ended their weeks-long defense of a besieged steel plant in the strategic port city of Mariupol, as hundreds of combatants — dozens of them seriously wounded — were evacuated from the complex Monday. One has to read beyond 323 words of falsehood to find out, down in paragraph 7, what really has happened.
Moscow hasn’t yet publicly responded to the developments in Mariupol, which were described by Russian state media as an order from Ukrainian military command for its troops to “surrender.”~~~
Ukraine’s deputy defense minister, Anna Malyar, said 53 seriously wounded soldiers were taken to a hospital in Novoazovsk, a nearby town which is controlled by Russian-backed separatists. Another 211 were transported to another Russian-aligned village, Olenivka, she said. Moscow and Kyiv are brokering a prisoner swap to secure their release.
Malyar said officials were still working to rescue the remaining soldiers, though it is unclear how many are still inside. Ukrainian authorities said last week there were nearly 1,000 holdout fighters in the plant.
The fuckers finally gave up and surrendered unconditionally to the Russian forces as their only alternative was to decease within the next hours or days.
I am sure that the Russian authorities will apply a fine filter to determine who of those prisoners of war are eligible for war crime prosecutions, de-nazification and a long stay in some north Siberian road builder camp.
There are also rumors of NATO personnel presence in the Azovstal catacombs. They will likely get to know the cellars of the famous Lubyanka building in Moscow before being exchanged in this or that deal with their home countries.
The rest will eventually be exchanged for Russian soldiers who are unfortunately held by the Ukrainian military.
I was gonna say, why would they surrender, seems the russians would imprison or execute the Nazi ish ukrainian soldiers. But, apparently getting their POW's back is better and taking control of the area removes the Nazi like influence, the main goal.
Here's an extensive, interesting and lively discussion about the Azovstal surrender on The Duran, also with Gonzalo Lira.
