The United States has shown its true attitude towards the Palestinians by blocking the recommendation to admit the country to the UN. For Washington, the Palestinian people have no right to their own state, Russian Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzia said at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
"In essence it was a simple question: whether the Palestinians deserve to be part of the world family, to fully participate in all decisions of international life," Nebenzia said.
"By using the veto for the fifth time since the beginning of the escalation in Gaza, they have again demonstrated their true attitude towards the Palestinians. For Washington, they do not deserve to have a state of their own. They are only an obstacle on the way to the realization of Israel's interests," the representative added.
Earlier on Thursday, the UN Security Council convened and discussed the proposed resolution on Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations. The United States cast a veto against adopting the proposed resolution. The UK and Switzerland abstained from voting. The other members of the Security Council voted in favor.

To free up space, Ben-Gvir suggests executing Palestinian detainees
Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has proposed Thursday the execution of Palestinian detainees as a way to address overcrowding in Israeli occupation prisons.
In a post on X, Ben-Gvir asserted that imposing the death penalty on Palestinian detainees was the "right solution" to what he described as "the incarceration problem."
His comments followed the Israeli authorities' approval of his plan to construct approximately 936 additional prison spaces for Palestinian detainees.
"The additional construction will allow the prison service to take in more Palestinians, and will bring a partial solution to the prison crisis," Ben-Gvir wrote.
Israeli occupation authorities had earlier declared a state of emergency in some prisons due to significant overcrowding.
Previously, the Israeli minister had called for the daily execution of the longest-serving Palestinian detainees for each day an Israeli captive remains held by the Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip.
According to a statement issued by the Government Media Office in Gaza, over 5,000 Palestinians have been abducted by Israeli occupation forces during their ongoing invasion of the besieged Strip.
The statement underlined that the Palestinian detainees were undergoing "the worst kinds of torture" in Israeli occupation prisons.
On its part, the Palestinian rights organization Addameer highlighted on the occasion of Palestinian Prisoners' Day that "Israel" is detaining 9,500 Palestinian political prisoners, including 3,660 administrative detainees, 56 journalists, at least 80 women, more than 200 children, and 17 members of the Legislative Council, excluding those from Gaza.
Media coverage | According to Israeli media reports, Israel is growing increasingly concerned about the International Criminal Court in The Hague potentially issuing arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders for alleged violations of international law in Gaza.
During the meeting, it was decided that Israel would seek assistance from influential international diplomatic circles to "thwart" these efforts.
In response to this, three Israeli ministers and government legal experts convened an emergency meeting at the Prime Minister's Office to strategize on preventing the issuance of such warrants. This meeting followed indications that these warrants could be issued soon.
Prime Minister Netanyahu discussed this concern in meetings with Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Cameron and Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.

WASHINGTON, April 18 (Reuters) - Israeli missiles have hit a site in Iran, ABC News reported late on Thursday, citing a U.S. official, days after Iran launched a drone strike on Israel in response to an attack at the Iranian embassy in Syria.
Iran's Fars news agency said an explosion were heard at an airport in the Iranian city of Isafahan but the cause was not immediately known. Several Iranian nuclear sites are located in Isfahan province, including Natanz, centerpiece of Iran’s uranium enrichment program.

+30 for world communities on blocking Israeli commerce.
-1 for American veto.
Speaks for itself pretty clearly.
Much like the rotund rancher and his jolly heifer burning--let's call him George Bush the four hundredth.
Did you know Texas is German? Very German. Very beer, very beef. I think it may contain a Navajo sacred site or two. That's for entertainment purposes. If you were to consider them real humans, you'd have another moral dilemma, and that's not fun. If that bozo manages to become responsible for the destruction of Al Aqsa, billions upon billions of ISIS paratroopers are going to jump from the moon and establish Halal industries. I'm sure of it. Unless you want the Lone Star to be part of the sole of someone's shoe, you might ought to hold off on the superstitious troublemaking.
That is one of those historical epoch-defining moments, when a basically isolated U. S. uses the only type of non-military force that works, the Security Council veto, best friend that Israel ever had. We have entered a new epoch called Same As It Was, because, for some reason, this system based on the economics of Infinite Growth causes Actual Stagnation. Ask Africa. At least they could figure it out. America has yet to catch up on that part.
I'm probably going to repeal "Orwellian" from the tags of western propaganda and just go with "Stupid". I don't believe there are any alternatives. When we read 1984 in 1983, at least it made you think. I found it rather prophetic and was highly puzzled when most of the rest of the others just followed the mainstream anyway.
I would however be a bit surprised if Azerbaijan would get involved in the conflict. I have a handmade Azeri musical instrument over here to my left, and I'd like it to continue to have "normal relations". I got it from an Iranian. It took eternity to make that situation possible, and, you can ruin it overnight.

Iranian sources tell #AlMayadeen that no external aggression against Iran was launched on Friday. What is being circulated about an Israeli attack on #Iran are lies and are part of a misinformation war, according to our sources.
Sources also added that complicit #US media outlets are waging a proxy war of disinformation on behalf of the Israeli occupation.
This comes after #Iran's Space Agency confirmed that several drones, of unspecified origin, were downed over Iranian airspace. The agency said that no missile attack on Iran occurred on Friday.

Of some interest (and potential very significant importance), in the first 30 mins of his video report yesterday Alexander Mercouris hints heavily, deliberately without being absolutely specific, that Iran has nuclear weapons. He does NOT state this explicitly, but what he's saying is clear.
He states that he's heard from a very reliable source indirectly connected to the Kremlin (who frequently corresponds with him) that it's well-known by the Russian military that "Iran has an undisclosed deterrent capability" and has "weapons which have not been publicly acknowledged".
He started this in his video the previous day as well, and yesterday he said he'd had additional confirmation, from a separate source, that this is also understood within Israel.
Assuming this is all correct (and I believe it may well be), it's not clear whether such weapons have been developed by Iran itself (which is quite possible), or whether they may have come from (e.g.) Pakistan, China, Russia itself, or possibly a rogue source following the breakup of the Soviet Union.

🇮🇱⚔️🇮🇷Sadasima's news report of last night's events was not comprehensive and many questions remain unanswered.
But the interesting point of the report is the presence of the Russian Nebo-SVU early warning radar in the Sadasima report, which has a range of 350 km to detect conventional aerial targets and can detect targets with a radar cross-section of 0.1 square meters at a range of 100 km.🇮🇷

🇮🇷⚔️🇮🇱 Israel suffered several defeats this morning:
1️⃣ operationally,
Not only their goals were not achieved, but the operation was half-finished and ended with failure.
2️⃣ Israel became a special and common joke inside Iran and the region and inside the occupied territories.
3️⃣ Relative internal unity and reduction of international criticism that happened after Sadiq's promise turned into a break.
4️⃣ Disagreements inside and outside the cabinet increased, international criticism returned once again and Tehran became the center of contacts.
💢 Yesterday, it was reported in the news that Israel received permission from the US to attack Rafah in exchange for reducing the severity of its response to Iran.
🔰 Iran's response to Israel's insolence this morning will be determined after determining the task of this news...

US backs Israeli plans for Rafah in exchange for ‘soft response’ to Iran: Report
Washington has greenlighted Israeli plans for an invasion of Gaza’s southern city of Rafah in exchange for Israel limiting its response to the Iranian operation last weekend, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported.
“The American administration showed acceptance of the occupation’s plan regarding the operation in Rafah in exchange for not carrying out a large-scale attack against Iran,” Egyptian sources told the outlet.
According to the sources, Egyptian forces and agencies are “at full readiness” in northern Sinai and along the Egyptian border with Gaza as part of a plan “to deal with the scenario of preparation for the repeated Israeli announcements of an [upcoming] invasion of the city of Rafah.”
The increased readiness came after “contacts from the Israeli side” relating to preparations for the operation in the southern city, which Israel claims is Hamas’ final stronghold.
“The Israeli plan relies on the method of displacement, by dividing Rafah into numbered squares, so that one square after another is targeted, prompting those in it to move away from it, specifically towards Khan Yunis and the Al-Mawasi area,” the sources added.
The sources said camps run by the Egyptian Red Crescent are already present in the city of Khan Yunis and are being expanded, coinciding with an increase of humanitarian aid to these areas in coordination with Israel.
The first two Egyptian Red Crescent camps in Khan Yunis were set up in January, and are capable of accommodating thousands of Palestinians, according to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed. Egyptian authorities have been working to establish a third camp.
Prior to the Iranian operation against Israel, Washington had been trying to mold Israel’s planned operation in Rafah into more limited incursions rather than a full-scale assault, citing concerns for over one million Palestinians besieged there. On Monday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant held an assessment on “necessary civilian operations” that need to be taken ahead of the Israeli attack on the city, in line with US pressure to secure a plan for the safe evacuation of civilians from Rafah.
According to what an informed western diplomat told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, “Netanyahu was able, through political maneuvering, to obtain American [acceptance] for the [planned] military operation in Rafah, which had not been welcomed by the United States, in exchange for retreating from carrying out a large-scale military operation against Iran.”
Iran has vowed a tenfold response to Israel should it retaliate to the hundreds of drones and missiles launched at Israel on 13 April, which came as a response to an attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus at the start of the month.
Israel’s allies have expressed major concern over Tel Aviv's plans for a response – which they fear could result in an unprecedented regional escalation.
