Palestinian rights group Sada Social demands an investigation into Meta’s data leaks to Israeli military used to target and kill Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The Sada Social online rights group says US tech giant Meta must be investigated for helping the so-called Lavender AI-assisted targeting system of the Israeli military used to kill Palestinians in Gaza through leaking users’ Whatsapp data.
"Since the onset of the genocidal war on October 7, the enforcement of surveillance and violation of users’ privacy through WhatsApp has escalated, with more than 670 numbers of Palestinian users being banned, over 78 percent of whom are journalists and users in the Gaza Strip, directly impacting their lives,"
Sada Social calls on Meta to release transparency reports that have been withheld since the start of the Israeli genocide

According to Sada Social, there is an urgent need for an immediate investigation into Meta's leak of WhatsApp users' data to the Israeli military.
The group diligently observes the collective dissent voiced by numerous Meta employees, encompassing Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Threads, regarding the Meta company's complicity in the genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, its endorsement of the Israeli occupation, and its fueling of the "Lavender" artificial intelligence system used by the Israeli military to kill Palestinian individuals within the Gaza enclave.
The "Lavender" system is an artificial intelligence platform employed by the Israeli military to conduct airstrikes on individuals in the Gaza Strip, notably characterized by its diminished reliance on human intervention. Operating with a lenient methodology in determining and executing targets, it predicts who will be killed within Gaza confines, subsequently orchestrating airstrikes when these individuals are at home with their families.
Reports monitored by the Sada Social Center indicate that one of the inputs to the "Lavender" system relies on data collected from WhatsApp groups containing the names of Palestinians or activists wanted by 'Israel.' The Israeli Lavender system, supported by artificial intelligence, identifies Palestinians by tracking their communications via WhatsApp or the groups they join.
This development follows a series of admonitions issued by Sada Social concerning Meta's violation of privacy on WhatsApp, which the company describes as an "end-to-end encrypted" application, denoting a security protocol wherein messages are shielded through encryption mechanisms that the company itself can't see or monitor.

5. Promote normalization with Saudi Arabia as part of a comprehensive move that will create an alliance with the free world and the Arab world against Iran.
This is of course the main flashpoint that brings the current conflict.
Gantz has more or less just said that Netanyahu does not have a "plan", that is, an action that could attain the hostages. Obviously he is mired in the same fantasy. Yeah, like the "free" or "Arab" world will be once more interested in Israel because he said this, or, Iran will just politely step out of the way.
Pfft. Choke on a pallet of bricks.

🇮🇱⚔️🇮🇱Benny Gantz in an ultimatum to Netanyahu:
"You must choose between victory and disaster. By June 8, an action plan for the continuation of the war must be presented, if not, we will withdraw from the government"
Gantz is leading in polls for many months now, and his actions resonate with his political base but also with the actual need for the Israeli leadership to have a plan in this war.
Tonight's speech by Gantz is very important because of his political support and strength in Israel
Such, weakens the government of Israel and it only ever grew weaker with this in the light of the statement given by the Israeli defence minister Gallant earlier this week who openly criticised Netanyahu's lack of goals and strategy in this war.
Regarding Gantz's statement, the plan needed includes a path to:
- How to conduct the war in Gaza
- Returning Israelis in the north back home by September
- Normalizing with Saudi Arabia
- Drafting all Israelis in the army (he means the orthodox community)

War Cabinet member Benny Gantz said he would soon leave "Israel's" emergency wartime government unless Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu worked to answer major unanswered questions over the future of the ongoing war in #Gaza.
“If you choose the path of zealots, dragging the country into the abyss, we will be forced to leave the government,” Gantz said in a televised news conference.
Gantz said he would give PM Netanyahu until Jun. 8, about three weeks, to reach an agreement in "Israel's" war cabinet on a plan that would return the captives and address the future governance of Gaza, among other objectives.

Ben-Gvir to Gantz: You are a 'smalltime leader, bigtime deceiver'
Israeli War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz is facing backlash from members of the coalition following his June 8 ultimatum for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to put together a plan for post-war Gaza, Israeli media reported.
Splits have recently emerged in the War Cabinet as the Palestinian Resistance continues to inflict heavy losses on the Israeli occupation forces in northern Gaza where the Israeli military previously claimed the group had been dismantled. Simultaneously, the families of Israeli captives still held by the Resistance in the Gaza Strip are growing impatient amid the government's failure to retrieve the captives either through diplomacy or militarily.
Gantz warned Saturday that he and his party would quit the government coalition unless Netanyahu approved the plan.
Following Gantz's televised address, Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi said that "there is no limit to the hypocrisy."
"For long months we’ve suffered the obsequious attitude of Gantz and his friends, the incessant march leftward," he indicated, suggesting that the War Cabinet minister prepones his deadline "to tomorrow" and quit the coalition.
"The war cabinet, which was formed for the sake of unity, has long since turned into a left-wing government and a means by which to weaken the prime minister and the elected right-wing government," Karhi argued.
On his part, Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also described Gantz as "a smalltime leader and a bigtime deceiver, who has from the first moment of joining the government occupied himself chiefly with trying to break it apart."
"He is the last person who can suggest security alternatives," he added.
Meanwhile, MK Ariel Kellner accused Gantz of "always undermining government policy to advance the same failed and defeatist policies you pushed for your entire life… You are welcome to leave the government and free us of your presence… We’ll go on without you."
Earlier, Gantz affirmed that "the war cabinet must formulate and approve by June 8 an action plan that will lead to the realisation of six strategic goals of national importance.. (or) we will be forced to resign from the government."
He mentioned that the six goals included "eliminating Hamas, ensuring Israeli security control over the Gaza Strip, and returning Israeli captives" held by the Palestinian Resistance.
"Along with maintaining Israeli security control, establish an American, European, Arab and Palestinian administration that will manage civilian affairs in the Gaza Strip and lay the foundation for a future alternative that is not Hamas or (Mahmud) Abbas," Gantz explained, referring to the Palestinian President.
He also urged the normalization of ties with Saudi Arabia "as part of an overall move that will create an alliance" against Iran and its supporters.
Later, Netanyahu responded to Gantz's threat by slamming the minister's demands as "washed-up words whose meaning is clear: the end of the war and a defeat for Israel, the abandoning of most of the hostages, leaving Hamas intact and the establishment of a Palestinian state."
The Israeli premier was also lambasted earlier in the week by his own Security Minister Yoav Gallant for failing to rule out an Israeli government in Gaza after the war.
Gallant urged Netanyahu "to make a decision and declare that Israel will not establish civilian control over the Gaza strip."
But Netanyahu has rejected any role for the Palestinian Authority in post-war Gaza, claiming on Thursday that it "supports terror, educates terror, finances terror."

Gantz threatens to exit Netanyahu government if war plan not reached
War Cabinet member Benny Gantz gave Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an ultimatum on Saturday, threatening to leave the emergency government in case his conditions are not met by next month, as the occupation entity falls deeper into political divisions amid a lack of achievements in Gaza after 8 months of the genocidal war.
In a televised statement, Gantz, who is a prominent figure in the opposition led by Yair Lapid, said that "something [is] wrong" in the war cabinet and that it is a shell of what it was in the early days after launching the war on Gaza last October.

Recently, he said, “crucial decisions were not made," and the "acts of leadership needed to guarantee victory were not made.”
“A small minority took over the bridge of the Israeli ship, and is sailing it toward a wall of rocks,” he said, referring to Netanyahu and right-wing extremists, Ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir.
The opposition official laid out a six-point roadmap to be addressed and approved by June 8, or else he would resign from the cabinet.
According to Gantz, the government must devise "a comprehensive plan of action with six objectives: the return of our hostages, the dissolution of Hamas and the demilitarization of the Strip, and the establishment of a governing alternative in Gaza." Additionally, it must include "the return of the residents of the north by September 1, the promotion of normalization [with Saudi Arabia], and the adoption of the Israeli military service outline," referring to a law forcing military conscription on ultra-Orthodox Jews.

Either 'Zionism or cynicism'
Elsewhere in his statement, Gantz promised to give Israelis “a horizon of hope” and to "restore Israel’s strength.”
But in the meantime, he joined other senior officials lately warning of the possibility of a “long and harsh existential war — even harder than we have known to date.”
Addressing Netanyahu, Gantz said in a challenging manner, "I am looking in your eyes tonight, and I say to you – the choice is in your hands. After I spoke with you repeatedly, the moment of truth has arrived. The hour of decision has arrived.”
He added that he had known the prime minister for a long time as “a leader and an Israeli patriot, who knows well what must be done.”
“The Netanyahu of a decade ago would have done it,” he said. “Can you do the right and patriotic thing today?”
Today, Netanyahu must choose “between Zionism and cynicism, between unity and divisiveness, between responsibility and neglect, and between victory and disaster," Gantz said, adding that his party will join in as partners if the premier chooses “the national interest over the personal in the footsteps of Herzl, Ben-Gurion, Begin and Rabin."
“But if you choose the path of the zealots and lead the whole state into the abyss, we will be forced to leave the government,” he warned. “We will turn to the people and form a government that will win the trust of the people.”
“We face challenges that we have not known since the War of Independence," he said but claimed the occupation can prevail.
He also reiterated his support for early elections, which are now scheduled for 2026.
'Three losers'
Before Gantz's statement, opposition leader and head of the Yesh Atid political party Yair Lapid called on him to announce his resignation from what he described as "the most terrible government" in the history of the occupation entity.
He added that Gantz "must announce that he is no longer able to give a hand to the abandonment of hostages, abandonment of the north, and crushing the economy and the middle class."
"[Gantz] should say that he will no longer help Netanyahu stay in power, and he is leaving the government immediately and calling for elections now."

In recent months, a rift has deepened between Gantz, on one side, and Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir, on the other, as they've clashed over war strategy, tactics, and the "day after" vision. Both parties have resorted to leveraging threats of resignation from the government against Netanyahu.
On his part, Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman told Channel 12 that “the three losers” should resign — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Security Minister Yoav Gallant, and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi.
Lieberman called for their resignation over the failures of the government on October 7 following the Resistance's operation and what he sees as a failure to bring about victory in the war on Gaza.
He added that he would only join the emergency wartime cabinet if Netanyahu resigned.

The interesting twist about the protests in Israel is that Hillary Clinton, will send a video message to the crowds alongside speeches from US, UK, German and Austrian ambassadors to Israel.
I assume in support. Where does this go now ?
