Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?
On the lighter side of the last few days, just as the Vatican has two popes, France has two presidents. Sarkozy was twice pushed back to the third row of Sunday’s march and twice pushed his way into the front, the second time with his wife Carla Bruni.

Inevitably the social media had a field day with ‘je suis Nico’ posing in various historic photos. Scroll halfway down this page for a sample. http://tempsreel.nouvelobs.com/photo...t-que-lui.html
Meanwhile the real president provoked great mirth (and relief of tension) while offering condolences to the grief-stricken Charlie Hebdo survivors when some pigeon droppings landed on his shoulder.

Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?
just had a 'battle royale', in the downstairs bathroom, with a weasel. seriously. No idea how it got in the house, but it made noise last night and kept me up, running across me and the bed, when I was sleeping. Finally cornered it in part of the house then cornered it in the bathroom, which thankfully has tiled walls and a tiled floor.
Then we had a battle of feints, counter-feints, spitting, screeching and a bit of speed....and a bit of blood. not my blood. But I got a bucket on top of it and then got a board underneath that, and got it out of the house.
I think it killed all the mice in the house before it came to that, and I think it was in the house for many days before I figured things out..as all of a sudden..a while back..no mice.
It was only then, when it was cornered in the bathroom... that I found out that they have scent glands like a skunk. That's why it's a good thing the bathroom is all ceramic tiles. That is one pungent odour.
They could probably use some at that rabbit island. The grass would probably like that.
Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?
And last night, while browsing, I saw a funny picture of a beaver, and thought of you Carmody, and the fun we all had here a while ago when you disclosed to us that a gland in beaver's butts produced a secretion which was then used as a flavor enhancer in raspberry yoghurts. And I nearly posted it here, for old times sake, but then I thought, Nah! No longer funny...times have changed.
And here you are with another animal adventure. Weasel, eh? Weasel!

Try this one. Not quite the same but makes the point.

Also read ferret - more here

If WEASEL shows up, it means:- Be in business deals and dig beneath what you see and hear.
- During this period, eat small amounts of food throughout the day rather than three larger meals.
- Trust your senses about other people as to whom to trust.
- Spend a couple of days in silence observing, whether by yourself or in a crowd.
- You’re protective and fearless when it comes to defending your family or home.
If WEASEL is your POWER ANIMAL:- You’re analytical and tend to look for reasons behind any experience.
- You’re a solitary individual, enjoying the peacefulness of time alone.
- You have the unique ability to maintain silence so well that you go unnoticed, and are often privy to things that are done or said by others without their being aware of your presence.
- Although not easily angered, if provoked, you tend to go for the throat and don’t let go easily.

Oh dear. Another weird coincidence. I was stung under my chin last night, by the only mosquito that ever entered my Barbados apartment sine December 15.
Woke me up.
The landlord had finally put screens on all windows, because I had this fear go getting chikungunya, which has become rampant around here.
So what's up with that?? Carmody's weasel being channeled by a mosquito now????

This is interesting. It gives me new appreciation for the little sucker.
Mosquito:
Mosquito reminds you to listen to the lessons you are experiencing. She shows how to listen to the patterns in your life so that you can fill nourished and fulfilled once again.
She demonstrates the art of timing: movement and progression, rest and relaxation. What should you be doing?
It may be a period of increased creativity and new endeavors.
Mosquito medicine demonstrates the power of positive and negative energies. She shows how to transform personal attitudes and aids in recognizing attitudes of others.
What is draining your energy?
She shows spiritual and emotional nourishment is needed. Be strong and forthright. Fully trust your intuition, listen to your emotions and body reactions or it may "sting and itch" later.
Mosquito offers opportunities to revitalize your spirit, take them when they appear. Her lessons span about 14 days. She shows how to move easily through the first three stages of egg, larva, and pupa. In the last stage she shows a time of rest.
Although she is little in size, Mosquito has big medicine to teach.

That made sense, in more ways than one, Paula.
I'm restored to my old joke-sharing self.
Unfortunately a bit behind with the times.....
Nevertheless, this gave me a laugh.

When my son was younger, he would get his idioms mixed up. Everything was "_____ as a weasel". Sharp as a weasel, smart as a weasel, fast as weasel.... Apparently, everything is comparative to a weasel.

This is actually a photo of a river otter. The beaver and otter are very different animals that aren't even part of the same family! :)
No less, it is a beautiful photo!

Well spotted. My daughter-in-law also pointed this out to me several hours ago.
But I needed to find the connection to the earlier beaver story, and I didn't expect anyone around here to show up here and spot the error.
The second photo, however, is of a real beaver.
(can't fool Avalonians....)
Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?

Some things are good to do in this life and some things will not work in this life. It seems all perfect and well in your mind and when you bring it out of there, all hell breaks loose and you think: but how? It seemed so perfect in my mind.
That's right, your mind. We don't live in your mind. This is not your world. It's ours together, and it's a composite, and a compromis of externalisations of all our individual worlds; what we allow of it to be externalised, what we deem acceptable, managable, tolerable,...

Finding one's place in a group is easier for some than it is for others. In astrology the indicators are to be found in the 11th house. In my case Uranus in Gemini, in the 11th house. Since Uranus rules Aquarius, the 11th sign, it is a similar energy.
So with Uranus there the group definitely lets me know in what areas I need to wake up.
If I had Venus there my life would be different, probably regular cake and coffee fests with a bunch of girlfriends, chatting about the attendants in a nail salon. And everyone always in agreement.
When I was looking at Avalon members charts I found quite a few had Uranus in the 11th house.
All society misfits who have fun hanging out together and sharing their ideas on reform.

Thank you Violet, this is exactly what I meant the other day, in the discussion over the word 'illuminés', in saying we are talking about ungrounded nonsense. A compromise of externalisations includes things like agreeing to accept the dictionary meaning of words rather than what you imagine them to mean in your mind, especially those words we agree to accept as part of a nation's written constitution. And yes, all hell breaks loose when we can't accept that.
Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?
Acceptance..perfect word for this morning's coffee reflection.
All my suffering has been caused by my rejection of the here and now of a given moment where I felt separated from wholeness. The stronger one's desire nature the greater the feelings of scarcity, of neediness.
So, yeah, acceptance is a good starting point if one wants to return to clarity.
And each time one individual returns to a state of clarity there is a ripple effect, which goes outward, and which inspires others to do the same. So, coming out of denial, and admitting confusion, and even accepting it, is only one small step.
Seeking clarity is paramount as the next step. Without going on a clarity quest that holy grail can't ever be found.
So this is not about the kind of acceptance one wants to get stuck in.
What many people hold on to as an absolute truth is only one small stepping stone.
