Children of Donbass | Growing up under Ukrainian artillery fire
Source: RT
Description:
For eight years, the children of Donbass have been walking to school under Ukrainian artillery fire, have been separated from or even lost their parents, and have learnt to distinguish one type of ammo from another. However, they still have hope for a better future and dream of becoming teachers, engineers, and doctors to one day make their land thrive once again.
This is why even during the hardest of shellings, as they take refuge in basements, they carry on studying and refuse to quit school. With scarce light, little sleep and nearly no food they still manage to get their homework done.
Most of them don’t intend on leaving the region where they grow up and are convinced they would be useful here on Donbass, when time will come to rebuild a peaceful life free of the Ukrainian nationalists.
“When children play in the evening, and there is shelling, they can already tell when the shelling is further away and when it is closer. Some shout: 'It's not us they're shelling now, it's further away! In Donetsky, Artyom Street is being shelled.' Well, we're getting used to it,” says one of the residents. Children recognise the sound of shelling and know when to run to the basements. But it is not always possible to outrun the shells, and the death of children has become all too commonplace in Donbass.
Many children lost their parents to the bombings. Some had no close relatives or friends to go to and they ended up in orphanages, learning to live and deal with their trauma on their own. Left unattended, they can easily become prey for organ harvesters who disguise themselves as international foundations seeking to help the orphans. This is why orphanage authorities investigate everyone who approaches the children very closely to avoid such a tragedy.
How these brave children survive amid death and destruction you will see in the documentary.
Evidently something again happened that was not quite the same as the U. S. strategy.
When the dust settles, according to Scott Ritter:
"This wasn't inflicting horrific damage on Ukrainian infrastructure. Ukraine didn't lose any power generation capability or anything of that nature."
The first thing one needs to understand about Russia's strikes is that the damage that was done was not permanent in nature, the military analyst says, adding that most of the targeted electric facilities were back up and running within 24 hours. Likewise, the way Russia attacked the dam, "it can be readily repaired and the situation returned to normal in a relatively short amount of time," he adds. This means that "the Russian targeting was very precise" being "a surgical use of military force to shape the battlefield so that Russia could rebuild its defense," according to the military analyst.
"[The attack] was designed to temporarily remove electrical power from a broad area so as to disrupt the movement of Ukrainian forces and the ability of Ukrainian command to carry out effective command and control of these forces," Ritter says. "[B]y taking out the electric grid, Russia effectively froze the Ukrainian movement of forces in place, buying time for their troops to consolidate to defend."
The same thing can be said about the dam, continues Ritter: "The strike against the dam was designed to raise water levels along a strategically important river to remove bridges that had been built across this river by Ukrainian forces with the assistance of NATO that were used to sustain a significant Ukrainian military buildup that was threatening Russian forces. By removing these bridges, the Russians denied the Ukrainians the ability to supply these troops. These troops are now isolated and being subjected to military action by Russia designed to reduce the threat."
Or similarly in another release:
On the evening of September 14, a missile strike damaged the Karachunovskaya dam and a pumping station on the Ingulets River, which caused water levels to rise by more than 2 meters flooding a number of districts in the city of Krivoy Rog.
On September 15, hydraulic structures in the region again came under attack. No sooner had the water left the streets of the city, as another Russian missile hit another dam in Iskrovka in the Kirovograd region.
According to official data, there were no casualties as a result of the flooding.
The purpose of the strikes was not to flood the streets of Krivoy Rog but to raise the water level in the Ingulets River downstream, where the front lines run, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to build pontoon bridges across the river.
On September 16, the local deputy head of the civil-military administration confirmed that the Ukrainian units found themselves in a tactical encirclement near the borders of the Kherson region, on the left bank of the Ingulets River.
As a result of the rising waters, it will be more difficult for the Ukrainian units deployed on the left bank in the area of Davydov Brod to retreat or transfer ammunition.
It was also reported that the Ukrainian military camp in Krivoy Rog was flooded. As a result, sending reinforcements from there to the front lines was interrupted.

US private military contractors targeted in Ukraine – Russian MoD
The Russian military has targeted deployment points of American private military contractors and those of Ukrainian ‘neo-Nazi’ units, inflicting heavy casualties, the Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
“During the fighting near of the village Zaytsevo of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the 24th nationalist battalion ‘Aidar’ of the 53rd mechanized brigade lost more than half of its personnel,” the Defense ministry said in a daily briefing. The remnants of the battalion have been withdrawn from the frontline, it added.
Russian forces have also conducted strikes on Ukrainian hardware, personnel and some 47 artillery units across more than 120 locations. “In particular, deployment points of foreign mercenaries with the American private security company Academi and the nationalist unit Kraken [were hit] near Kramatorsk and Nikolayevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the military said, without elaborating.

The reference is presumed to be to the Constellis private security group, which was created in 2014 after Academi (formerly known as Blackwater) was absorbed by its rival, Triple Canopy. The defense ministry did not provide any estimates on the potential casualties suffered by the mercenaries and ‘neo-Nazis’ with the Kraken unit.
Russia sent troops into Ukraine on February 24, citing Kiev’s failure to implement the Minsk agreements, designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state. The protocols, brokered by Germany and France, were first signed in 2014. Former Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko has since admitted that Kiev’s main goal was to use the ceasefire to buy time and “create powerful armed forces.”
In February 2022, the Kremlin recognized the Donbass republics as independent states and demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join any Western military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked.

Children among civilians killed in Ukrainian strike – authorities
At least 13 civilians have lost their lives in a Ukrainian artillery strike on the city of Donetsk, local authorities have said.
Donetsk city administration chief Alexey Kulemzin took to Telegram on Monday, writing: “according to preliminary information, 13 civilians are dead as a result of a punitive strike on Baku Commissars square.”
The official added that the exact number of those injured in the attack is not yet known.
Local media, citing eyewitnesses, has said an artillery shell hit a bus stop.

Speaking to Russia’s Rossiya 24 news channel later in the day, Kulemzin said: “two children are among the dead,” adding that it’s not the first case of minors being killed by Ukrainian strikes in that district.
The territorial defense of the Donetsk People’s Republic, in turn, posted a message on their own Telegram channel, alleging that the Ukrainian military used Western-supplied 155mm howitzers to shell residential areas of Donetsk.
The authorities said infrastructure and apartment blocks came under fire in one of the city’s districts. Local residents have been advised to stay indoors or move “to shelters if necessary.”
According to the Donetsk Territorial Defense, six more people were killed in shelling on Sunday through Monday morning.

Russian Artillery & Air Force Strike US PMC Base and Local Command Centers in Ukraine
According to Russia's Defense Ministry, thousands of foreign mercenaries traveled to Ukraine to fight alongside Kiev's forces amid Moscow's special military operation. The Kremlin repeatedly advised foreign states to prevent their citizens from traveling, warning that they will not enjoy standard combatant status.
The Russian Defense Ministry has stated that its artillery and Air Force landed a series of strikes against Ukrainian command centers and footholds, as well as a local base of the US private military company helping Kiev's forces.
The ministry specified that the mercenary base belonged to the Academi PMC – formerly known as the notorious Blackwater company. It was situated near the town of Krasatorsk, in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
The strikes also hit the foothold of the Kraken nationalist battalion and centers for coordination of Ukrainian missile strikes located near the town of Shurino, Nikolaev region. During the operations, 47 Ukrainian artillery positions and 127 Ukrainian troops and military equipment positions were struck in the last 24 hours.
The strikes came as part of the continuing Russian special military operation in Ukraine, which was launched on February 24 by President Vladimir Putin at the request of the DPR and Lugansk People's Republic (LPR). Both Donbass republics have suffered from Ukrainian shelling since they declared independence in response to the West-backed coup in Kiev in 2014 that brought nationalist politicians to power.

First Snow Reaches Ukraine; Europe Headed into COLD, DARK, (Deadly) Winter
This morning, September 18, 2022, in the far southwestern region of Ukraine, the first snow fell in the Carpathian Mountains. Winter is coming, and soon, western Europe will be plunged into a COLD, DARK, deadly time . . . because Europe has sanctioned Russian natural gas and oil; and will freeze to death from their own actions!
Here is brief video of the first snow falling in the Carpathian Mountain area of western Ukraine.
Sure, it's not much at all. But it is a signal that winter is returning.
With Europe having cut off its nose to spite its face by embargoing Russian natural gas and oil, Europe will soon find itself without enough natural gas to heat homes, supply businesses, and keep electric generating stations operating.
For much of western Europe, this winter may prove fatal as people, laid off from jobs because of no natural gas or no electric to operate, sit at home and freeze to death because their public servants in government are throwing a temper tantrum over Ukraine.
If Europe minded its own business, none of this would be happening. Some people just can't mind their own business.
Only psychopaths intentionally inflict harm on themselves or others. It looks to many like European elected officials are psychopaths! They are inflicting harm on their own people.
