Re: Israel vs Palestine/Lebanon/Iran/Yemen/Syria: a New Middle East War
In Syria, the situation is a little more about the SDF than the oil wells:
Quote:
The surprise attack was orchestrated by the General Intelligence Directorate, Syria’s main secret service agency, and carried out with fire support from the Syrian Arab Army, according to Hawar.
Al-Watan newspaper, which is close to the Syrian government, reported that the tribal forces captured several towns from the SDF in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, including Abu Hamam, Granij and al-Tayyana. It also said that the forces advanced in the northern countryside of the governorate, capturing the key town of Busayrah.
A source from the tribal forces told Al-Watan that at least ten SDF fighters were captured alive. The unnamed source added that American-made weapons were also seized from the group.
The SDF is an American--Zionist-backed "security force", imposing itself into the harsh milieu of Kurdish liberation. This issue was totally ignored in the early 1900s map-making experiment, dividing them among Turkey, Syria, and Iraq primarily. While this is of concern, the answer does not lie in outfitting them with western arms and strategies.
The oil and the American presence is not really a huge deal, it simply complicates matters for the Syrian state, because there is still this ISIS-friendly problem in the east, and Idlib in the northwest is full of Takfiris, because the Syrians don't typically carpet-bomb their own cities to regain them. Collectively, all this prevents them from mustering any significant force towards Golan.
As to what may befall, consider the ability to distribute a new variant:
Quote:
Other sources report that “Iskander-1000” can be fired from a regular 9P78 TEL (transporter, erector, launcher)...
That's double the range--1,000 km. Clear across Ukraine. Unstoppable Mach Eight missile with 5m accuracy. 700kg warhead. Easy sell to foreign countries looking to defend themselves. Who doesn't want one or four hundred? Even better, it is more "cost effective" than Zircon, Kinzhal, and so forth. So, when you pop obsolete NATO gear into Finland, imagine how many of these will be aimed there at all times.
I don't know whether this has entered Iran, but, I think we can see an enormous possibility of it. The older 500-km Iskander would probably not help them much, so, I doubt this is what they would get.

After 10 months of zero electricity and VERY limited gas supply, we had to turn to wood fire as an alternative way to cook!
But even then, we were thinking about how to be more environmental friendly! So in a collaboration with
@Watermelongaza
&
@WCKitchen
we are distributing wood burning stoves.. these stoves are clean and more sustainable , as they require lesser amounts of wood than an open fireplace!
We refuse to accept the current situation as our reality, as we are sure we will rebuild our city.. but in the meantime, we try our best to come up with the best solutions possible

Egypt instructs its airlines to avoid Iran’s airspace amid escalation with Israel
With the region on edge over a possible larger regional war, Egypt instructed its airlines to avoid Iran’s airspace for a three-hour period early Thursday, fearing that Iran might attack Israel.
The Wednesday notice of potential hazards along a flight route said the instruction would be effective from 4 to 7 am local time (0100-0400GMT).
“All Egyptian carriers shall avoid overflying Tehran. No flight plan will be accepted overflying such territory,” the notice said.
Later, Egypt’s Civil Aviation Ministry said it had received a notification from Iranian authorities concerning upcoming military exercises, and so issued a warning to all Egyptian airlines to avoid Iranian airspace on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the announcement, the Wednesday military drills took place place 11.30 a.m.-2.30 p.m. Tehran local time (0830-1130GMT), and the Thursday drills are set for 4.30-7.30 am (0130-0430GMT).
“To ensure the safety of passengers and adhere to international safety standards, the Egyptian Civil Aviation Ministry has instructed all Egyptian airlines to avoid flying over Iranian airspace during these times,” said a ministry statement.
“This precautionary measure is aimed at preventing any potential risks to aviation safety during the (Iranian) military exercises,” it added.

Naomi tells Mehdi on this episode of ‘Unshocked’: “I'm not going to sugarcoat it. It was a blow.” For Mehdi, “the idea that 14 or $15 million from AIPAC and the pro-Israel lobby in this district didn't play a role? Come on! That's just an insult to our intelligence.”
Over in France, as elections approach, the center right and center left have together blamed the anti-Israel far left for rising antisemitism - and given the French far right a pass in the process! There are reports that many French Jews may now vote for Marine Le Pen’s National Rally for the first time.
Naomi says “European politics is a world upside down,” and says it is “chilling” to think that the “charge of antisemitism is potentially going to facilitate the resurgence of fascism in Europe”.
Although all these far-right parties are staunch supporters of Israel, Mehdi explains how “the old anti-Semitism is still very much alive and well.” A mind-boggling idea regardless of which side of the coin you choose to see it from, so mind-boggling that Mehdi says: “I feel like screaming that no one sees the obvious disconnect… these people are still anti-Semitic and they're pro-Israel. What does that tell you about them?”
What does it also say about Zionism? Mehdi and Naomi discuss Zeteo’s upcoming documentary ‘Israel’s Reel Extremism’ and Mehdi’s participation in the Munk Debate on anti-Zionism in Toronto earlier this month.

Here one more about Israel behaviours... if only this hadn't been happening for decades already... more people would be shocked ... but we knew what was happening with Palestinian.. Israel is horror show.. Genocide and torture camps... how they can not be punished???? Israel is now showing to the world... that they are the lowest society ... they are!!!!
Israel Accused of Running "Torture Camps" as Video Emerges of Soldiers Raping Palestinian Prisoner
The Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has published a major new report documenting how the Israeli prison system has become "a network of torture camps," where physical, psychological and sexual abuse of Palestinian prisoners is normalized and routine.
The report, titled "Welcome to Hell," collects the testimony of 55 Palestinians who were detained by Israeli authorities since October 7 and later released, almost all without charges.
This comes as a group of U.N. experts condemned the widespread torture of Palestinians and as Israel's Channel 12 News aired shocking footage of Israeli soldiers sexually abusing a prisoner at the Sde Teiman army base, where thousands of detainees from Gaza are held.
Sarit Michaeli, the international advocacy lead for B'Tselem, says the abuse in Israeli prisons is "systemic, ongoing and state-sanctioned," reflecting the cruelty and thirst for revenge among a growing number of Israelis. "They would like to have a completely open field in terms of what they can do to Palestinians," says Michaeli.

Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst Marwan Bishara says the latest invitation extended to Israel and Hamas by mediating parties to resume ceasefire talks means “their patience is running out”.
Latest....
“It’s certainly the case for mediators Egypt and Qatar,” Bishara said. He said among the key factors to consider is the possible escalation towards a full-blown war in the region, with Hezbollah and Iran threatening that they will respond to Israel. “It seems like the Iranians sort of leaked that only a ceasefire will cool the spirits in the region – and I think that was echoed in Washington,” Bishara said.

Israel Is Daring Iran and Hezbollah to Retaliate, Says Former State Department Official
Vali Nasr joins Rula Jebreal on ‘The Exchange’ to discuss the danger of a new Middle East war, and how the U.S. support for Israel is destroying its credibility across the region.
ZETEO
AUG 09, 2024
Tensions are once again escalating between Israel and Iran, after the Israeli military committed back-to-back assassinations last week on a commander of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group in Lebanon and a prominent Hamas leader who was visiting Tehran for the new Iranian president’s inauguration. Israel is reportedly preparing for retaliatory strikes from both groups, and residents in southern Lebanon continue to flee as many fear that the ongoing crossfire between Hezbollah and Israel at the border could now turn into a full-blown war.
In this episode of ‘The Exchange,’ Zeteo contributor Rula Jebreal brings in former U.S. State Department adviser and foreign policy expert Vali Nasr to unpack what is going on – and why.
“The killing of Haniyeh in Tehran was a direct challenge to Iran. It's almost like daring them to prove their ability to defend their minions – Hamas, Hezbollah – and also really to defend their own country,” Vali explains to Rula. “It's almost like goading them into a kind of reaction that could be a game changer for the impasse that Gaza has become now.”
Rula and Vali discuss how the United States’ unconditional support for Israel has severely diminished America’s credibility in the Middle East, as Israel continues to break, “all the safety valves that have kept the region in place.”
“I think the worst thing for the United States is that they don’t look in charge, they don’t have control over the region,” Vali tells Rula.
Watch the full episode to hear more about why Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be motivated to escalate tensions, how that is affecting Israel’s already fragile relationship with the rest of the Middle East, and how another war could impact the upcoming U.S. elections.

We are excited to announce that the @gazafreedomflotilla boat "Handala", is expected to reach Malta in coming hours. From here, "Handala"' will sail towards Gaza as part of their ongoing effort to challenge the illegal and inhumane blockade over the Palestinian people.
Over the past 10 months, Israel's brutal aggression has caused unprecedented slaughter, destruction, and despair.
Mirath, have been listi, while most of thems tructure has been razed to the ground, and humanitarian aid has been blocked.
! However, Israel's assault on Gaza did not begin last October. For 76 years, Israel's colonization of Palestinian land has taken many forms, evolving into the current phase of what can only be described as full-blown genocide. Before reaching this point, Israel imposed a brutal military occupation on Gaza, transforming this small strip of land - only slightly larger than Malta and home to 2.5 million Palestinians - into an open-air prison.
For the past 17 years, Israel has enforced a suffocating blockade of Gaza by land, air, and sea, while regularly bombing and killing those trapped inside.
→ For 14 years, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition has sailed to Gaza, seeking to break this illegal siege and deliver much-needed humanitarian aid. They have faced Israel's deadly violence multiple times, most tragically in 2010, when Israeli soldiers stormed their boat in international waters, shooting several activists and killing ten.
Despite these attacks, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition remains undeterred, sailing for freedom and demonstrating the unwavering value of international solidarity with the Palestinian people.
@movimengraffitti is proud to support their visit to Malta in the coming days. On Sunday at 10 AM, we will hold a press conference next to the Handala, with participation from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Maltese organisations.
We encourage anyone interested to attend.
