An explosion occurred on a gas pipeline in the Russian region of Leningrad on Saturday, causing a fire that is now being eliminated by rescuers, with no threat to people, regional Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko said on Saturday.
"Firefighters and rescuers are eliminating the fire caused by an explosion on a gas pipeline between Bernhardovka and Kovalevo [districts]. There is no threat to the public or risk of the fire spreading to residential areas," Drozdenko said on Telegram.
Later in the day, Drozdenko said that nobody was injured in the explosion, according to preliminary data. Pressure in the pipeline was reduced, and a local power station temporarily switched from gas to heavy fuel oil to avoid heating failures.
The explosion and the subsequent fire were caused by depressurization of a segment of the pipeline located between the two districts, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations told Sputnik.
Gas supply shutoffs in the private sector in Russia's Vsevolozhsk in the Leningrad Region are possible, the regional authorities said.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations told Sputnik that the open fire on the ruptured pipeline had been put out at 15:19 GMT.
Gazprom Transgaz Sankt-Peterburg said that switching to gas supply from other gas pipelines after the rupture at the Belousovo-Leningrad pipe is being completed.
This may give a misunderstanding. For instance medieval Estonia was occupied by the Teutonic Knights. But you probably meant that the indigenous population was not Christianized and remained pagan.Quote:

One wonders how these different minorities who have suffered from past occupations and more recently from the Soviet union, can ever come to a less fearful coexistence with today's warring Russia ...

Yes, that may be so. I am guilty of sometimes having to summarize centuries in a few sentences. I am not trying to whitewash anyone's memories, but, in this case, mostly making a point about forced conversions.
If we did not forcibly convert "Greek mythology", we would know it was Indian.
You can find this all over Lithuania, most people probably just thinking of it as "little horses" over the crest or apex of the front roof:

Fortunately, in this case, they are actually revealing the highest aspect of what you might call The Mysteries:
Old Lithuanian ašva and Sanskrit ashva mean "horse". Like the Greek Dioscuri Castor and Pollux, they are reflexes of a common Indo-European mytheme, the Divine Twins.
Ašvieniai are related to Lithuanian Ūsinis and Latvian Ūsiņš (cf. Vedic Ushas), gods of horses.
Castor and Pollux are the zodiacal sign, Gemini. Of course it is where the Indians say it is, and not where the western "zodiacal sign" is.
That is among the best examples of cultural trade or expansion that I know of. It is easy to revert the Greek and Roman myths to their Indian originals, because they are that close. That is because the Greeks and Romans were educated in India, like the Arabs, and Chinese, and so on.
One generally does not know who the Lithuanians are, they are sometimes thought of as a split from Magyars, so are Baltis in general, probably coming from Dards (Iranic north Indians). I am not sure. I am sure that the "Twins" are among the most difficult things to know:
Time, Death, and the Aswins.
That might not sound so weird if the culture had not been annihilated, which it almost has been in India at the hands of European colonists and British East India Company.
From my view, not struggling with any issues about Prophets, the above is the Good Medicine from all over the Silk Road cultures. Anyone who traces any of those formats of legendry will discover the same thing. However, if you look into "experts" like Leo Zagami/P2, or the Golden Dawn, etc., you won't.
I have to plead ignorance about Slavic paganism, I can only say that the same god is used by Azov as well as normal people. Slavic and Russian languages are somewhat of a barrier to me. So I can't really say anything about how it is related to the Indo-Greek root. I believe the Orthodox did get into the witch-burning craze, although no one rivals the Protestants (Nazi countries) in this regard.
Something else caught my attention which we perhaps dragged through the dirt and I just don't recall. I am talking about Operation Belladonna. That is a long, somewhat old post, made from a few of hundreds or thousands of documents declassified in 2007. It begins with the U. S. intel agencies bonding with Ukrainian insurgency...in 1946.
It is true that the U. S. "bought" the Nazi spy apparatus, who actually fed them garbage. The Germans just kind of took their money and took advantage of their naivete' and just played around as much as they could, and what became the C. I. A. was not really considered to have any success until Mossadeq, 1953. But the "do something in Ukraine" kept going after that. In other words, have we ever not had a firm handshake with Ukrainian extremists since then? I think it would be hard to prove it was ever weakened, let alone gone.
