🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦📶 Servicemen of Yug Group of Forces develop UAV suppression system
The antenna module, assembled by soldiers of the 110th Brigade of the 1st Army Corps, creates an invisible dome around itself to protect troops from enemy FPV drones. The operator's video communication and drone control systems were successfully suppressed during the test.
The UAV operators of the training centre acted as a mock enemy, and changed the signal frequency in the field conditions during the test.
I wonder how these drone-planes managed to fly so deep into Russia without being detected.

Ukraine openly admits to fueling ethnic tensions in Russia after Crocus terror attack
Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), disclosed to The Times that the center is exploiting the attack to stoke ethnic divisions in Russia.
The CCD infiltrated Russian social media and Telegram chats, amplifying sympathy for the terrorists, pitting ethnic groups against Russian police, and inciting hatred against national minorities.
The CCD has about 50 full-time analysts and is subordinated to the National Security and Defense Council, the body supervising Ukraine's security services.
Russian Investigative Committee has found that the terrorists responsible for the Crocus City Hall shooting were apparently funded by Ukrainian masterminds. The Russian Foreign Ministry alleges that Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) head Vasyl Malyuk could be involved in the terror attacks against Russia.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned against provoking an increase in ethnic enmity and Islamophobia in Russia: "It is unacceptable, I want to emphasize this, to use recent tragic events to provoke national hatred, xenophobia, Islamophobia and so on," he said.

Why Chasov Yar is the key to liberating the Donetsk People's Republic
"The one who controls Chasov Yar receives a very serious advantage in the entire surrounding area," Sergey Poletaev, a political and military analyst, told Sputnik. "It is a defense hub [for the Ukrainian military]. Whoever controls it actually controls everything – the entire defense in the northern part of the Donetsk People's Republic."
Chasov Yar is located on a hill seven kilometers west of Artemovsk (also known as Bakhmut) which was liberated by Russia in May 2023. The city's geographical position makes it important from a strategic standpoint, as it overlooks the surrounding area for many miles.
The Russian military is now less than a mile from the city, adviser to the head of the DPR Igor Kimakovsky told Sputnik on April 2. As the Russian forces are getting closer to Chasov Yar, taking the main roads running into the city under their control, the importance of the settlement as a Ukrainian military hub is fading, according to Kimakovsky.
Presently, the so-called Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration – an elongated, almost continuous line of cities – remains under the control of Ukraine, Poletaev noted. This chain of cities has been Ukraine's main defense line in Donbass since 2014.
"Accordingly, in order to liberate Donbass, we need to take it," the military analyst said. "This is a very serious operation. With the exception of the February 2022 op, we have not yet carried out strategic operations of that scale. Thus, it is necessary to create conditions for accomplishing this task. One of these conditions will be the liberation of Chasov Yar."
FACTBOX: What we know about Ukrainian drone attack against facilities in Tatarstan
According to the reports, the attack on the hostel injured seven people, including two 17-year-old minors
MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacked facilities in Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan in the Volga area. According to the latest data, seven individuals, including two minors, were injured in the attack.
This is the first attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles against facilities on the territory of Tatarstan.
TASS has gathered key facts about the Ukrainian drone attack.
How it happened
- Two UAVs attacked a hostel building in the Alabuga special economic zone at 5:45 a.m., the press office of the special economic zone reported. The drones "were outfitted with NATO equipment," the press office said in a statement.
- Another drone attempted to attack an oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk located at a distance of about 1,200 km from the border with Ukraine. As the local authorities reported, the UAV was neutralized by an electronic warfare system and did not explode.
Casualties and consequences
- The attack on the hostel injured seven people, including two 17-year-old minors. All of them, as the unified operations control service told TASS, were students of the Alabuga Polytech educational center.
- According to available information, all the injured persons sustained mild or moderate injuries. Reports said that three people had been hospitalized and "are undergoing a medical examination."
- No one was injured in the drone attack on the Nizhnekamsk refinery. Nizhnekamsk and Nizhnekamsk District Head Ramil Mullin told TASS that "no damage was incurred."
- The press office of Tatarstan Head Rustam Minnikhanov also said that the technological process at the enterprises attacked by the drones was not disrupted.
Similar cases
- The Ukrainian military regularly attempts to attack facilities on Russian soil with UAVs, in particular, in the regions located at a large distance from the border with Ukraine.
- Last month alone, the Kiev regime attempted attacks at facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod Region (March 1 and 12), St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region (March 2 and 12), the Ryazan Region (March 13), the Samara Region (March 16 and 23), the Yaroslavl Region (March 17 and 31), the Moscow Region (March 17) and the Saratov Region (March 20). The Ukrainian military also shells borderline Russian regions and regions located close to the engagement line.
FSB nabs smugglers secreting explosives hidden in Orthodox icons from Ukraine into Russia
Without disclosing their identities or specific roles, the FSB pledged that all of the perpetrators of and accomplices to the crime, including foreign nationals, would be declared wanted and would be vigorously prosecuted under Russian law
MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has apprehended, jointly with the Federal Customs Service, a group of smugglers who had been carrying explosives hidden inside Orthodox icons and liturgical utensils from Ukraine into Russia, the FSB press service told TASS.
"In the process of inspecting a vehicle at the Ubylinka international automobile checkpoint (near the Latvian-Russian border in the Pskov Region - TASS), FSB officers uncovered foreign-made explosives that had been hidden inside a consignment of Orthodox icons and liturgical utensils and were being smuggled from Ukraine into Russia," the FSB said.
As many as 27 ready-to-use improvised explosive devices disguised as icons, 70 kg of a factory-made high-power plastic explosive, 91 electric detonators, and components for an RPG-7 rocket launcher were confiscated from a cargo shipment originating in Ukraine that had passed through Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia en route to Russia.
Without disclosing their identities or specific roles, the FSB pledged that all of the perpetrators of and accomplices to the crime, including foreign nationals, would be declared wanted and would be vigorously prosecuted under Russian law.
Meanwhile, the driver of the inspected vehicle said the bill of lading for the shipment showed a final delivery address in Moscow.
"When I arrived in <…> Romania for loading, at the warehouse I looked at the cargo. It consisted of liturgical utensils and icons. And then I headed for Russia, to Moscow, where the cargo was to be offloaded," he said in a video released by the FSB.
Moscow court arrests tenth suspect in Crocus City Hall attack
According to investigators, a few days before the terrorist attack, the defendant transferred money from his card to his accomplice in order to provide accommodation to the future attackers
MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Moscow’s Basmanny District court has arrested a tenth suspect in the Crocus City Hall attack, Tajik citizen Yakubdzhoni Yusufzoda, a TASS correspondent reports from the courtroom.
"The court hereby upholds the request by the Investigative Commisttee’s investigator that Yusufzoda should be taken into custody until May 22," Judge Natalia Dudar said.
According to investigators, a few days before the terrorist attack, the defendant transferred money from his card to his accomplice in order to provide accommodation to the future attackers. Some money was sent to one of the perpetrators after the attack. Yusufzoda is charged under paragraph (b), Article 205.3 of the Russian Criminal Code ("An Act of Terrorism Conducted by a Group of Person, Resulting in Human Death"). If found guilty, he faces life in prison.
So far, investigators have brought charges against ten defendants in the case.
Ukrainian shelling of Russia’s Belgorod injures nine civilians
One man is in serious condition
TASS, April 1. Ukrainian shelling of Russia’s Belgorod injured nine civilians and damaged three residential buildings, eight apartment houses and a school, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.
"According to preliminary information, nine people were injured. One man is in serious condition: he has a penetrating wound in the chest and a penetrating wound in the foot. His daughter has barotrauma. Both victims were taken by ambulance to the regional hospital, where doctors are providing them with all necessary medical care. Seven people - six men and one woman - with shrapnel wounds in various parts of the body and barotrauma were taken to the city hospital. All of them are receiving qualified medical care," the head of the region wrote.
"In Belgorod, as a result of a Ukrainian airstrike, windows were blown out in 13 apartments of eight apartment buildings, three private residences were damaged. In a school, the facade of the building was severely damaged: tiles and about 20 windows were broken," the regional head said.
According to him, three cars were also damaged in Belgorod, one of which was completely burned.
Earlier, the governor reported that the Russian air defense system had shot down 17 air targets approaching the city. There are also consequences after the attack was repelled in the Belgorod district. "In the settlement of Dubovoye and in the village of Tavrovo, two private houses each were damaged. In the village of Novosadovy, the roof of a car was hit by shrapnel. In the village of Maysky, the windows of a private house were broken," Gladkov said, pointing out that operational services were working on the spot. Information on the consequences of the shelling is being clarified.

Remembering Vladlen Tatarksy: A victim of the Ukrainian regime
Exactly a year ago, Russian war correspondent Vladlen Tatarksy was killed in a blast at a St. Petersburg café.
The 40-year-old was a well-known former military commander and a war correspondent with hundreds of thousands of followers on Russian social media.
Tatarksy fell victim to a terrorist attack involving an improvised explosive device brought to the public space by Daria Trepova, who was later charged with 27 years in prison.
Upon thorough investigation, Russia’s Investigative Committee concluded that Trepova was recruited by Ukrainian services and committed the act on their orders.
Tatarsky’s murder is on the list of Ukraine’s terrorist attacks against Russian infrastructure and public figures, also including the murder of writer and journalist Oles Buzina, political analyst and publicist Darya Dugina, journalist Gonzalo Lira, and the assassination attempt against writer Zakhar Prilepin.
A Donetsk native, Tatarksy joined the Donbass People's Militia in the wake of the Maidan coup in 2014 and Kiev authorities’ violence against the sovereignty-seeking people of Donetsk and Lugansk.

❕Over the past two years, Avdeevka has remained one of the hottest spots in the armed conflict zone. Today, the city, just 10 kilometers from Donetsk, the fierce battles for which ended just over a month ago, has been almost completely turned into ruins.
During this time, the population of 30 thousand was reduced to a thousand people. For almost two years, civilians hid in basements, literally surviving in complete isolation.
Now Avdeevka has about 800 residents. The team of the Russian Humanitarian Mission promptly delivered 5 tons of aid for them: 200 humanitarian boxes, sleeping bags, necessary baby supplies, and most importantly, an electric generator. Now a “public outlet” will be installed here, which can be used by more than 100 people.

HIGHLY unlikely that these "launches" came from Kazakhstan. That's the territory where Russia periodically launch their Soyuz rockets with satellites, from a cosmodrome there. Similarly I'd imagine they certainly weren't launched from Ukrainian territory given the distances involved. Guess we'll find out more in the passage of time..
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has expanded its investigation against RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan.
The agency has announced that it suspects Simonyan of several criminal offenses under Ukrainian law. She was described in a Monday statement as a "propagandist" who has been furthering "Russian narratives" via social media and during interviews.
The list of offenses attributed to the journalist cites alleged includes crimes against the Ukrainian state, including "propaganda of war," the general infringement of its sovereignty, and the specific "denial of armed aggression by Russia." A Ukrainian court ordered Simonyan's arrest for suspected violations against its territorial integrity in March 2022.
The SBU has also claimed it has documented "public calls for mass killings of Ukrainian children in December 2023," by Simonyan, but did not say which particular remarks it was referring to.
"Since this malicious actor is hiding from justice on the territory of Russia, complex measures remain underway to hold her accountable," the message stressed.
Reacting to the announcement, Simonyan said that Kiev apparently intended to achieve two things.
"One is to block my ability to travel around the world, believing that I will suffer from this. They believe that everyone who supports Putin does not leave the French Riviera. I've got bad news for them - the only riviera which I would be upset about not being able to visit is my native Krasnodar Region," RT's editor-in-chief said.
"Secondly, they are seeing a narrative in case they do kill me, which they have tried to do several times already," added Simonyan. "It doesn't seem nice to go after a journalist, and a mother of several children at that. But if you accuse her of supposedly calling for the deaths of children, that appears more palatable."
Comment: Further commenting on the announcement, Simonyan told RT:
"They are doing this because they are preparing to assassinate me - and not for the first time," Simonyan told reporters, reacting to the announcement. "They've tried twice before, it was all over the news; now they're preparing again."
Last July, Russian law enforcement reported thwarting a Ukrainian plot to assassinate Simonyan. The alleged criminal conspiracy involved a group of Russian neo-Nazis, who were offered $16,600 to kill her, according to investigators.
The SBU purportedly picked the individuals for the job after seeing videos of their attacks on foreign nationals, which they recorded and uploaded online. Their lawyer said the accused had confessed to the beatings, but had denied planning the hit.
The defendants claimed they had wanted to get paid for the murder in advance, but didn't get any money when they came to retrieve an assault rifle from a cache prepared by the organizers.
Last week, SBU head Vasily Malyuk was asked about several high-profile crimes committed on Russian soil against purported enemies of Ukraine, including murders and attempted murders. The official said the question was "directed to the right address, but we will not acknowledge that in any way." Malyuk, who is wanted for terrorism in Russia, proceeded to provide some details about the attacks.
Admittedly this piece of video isn't really going to enhance our understanding of the war but it's a voyeuristic aside I suppose. If he's single then it's probably not so terrible but I'm a one woman kind of guy; this is just greedy! Presumably filmed on different days.
TCC Head in Rivne Caught in Compromising Video Headed to 0
Chief military commissar of Rivne, Oleksandr Yarmoshevich has volunteered to go to 0 (frontline) after a scandal erupted due to video released earlier this week which shows the chief making out with four different women. The TCC made no statement regarding a potential abuse of power. The TCC has a great deal of authority in issuance of conscription notices, though speculation is that the abuse of power here relates to an inspection that was being conducted.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine did release a statement saying that it would make no "claims regarding the officer's performance of the assigned tasks within the scope of his official duties. However, we note that military personnel should not resolve personal issues at the workplace."
Despite the public outcry, the only investigation that appears to be imminent is how the cameras got there and who placed them. The Armed Forces reminded people the video was being spread "through the resources and with the direct support of the leaders of public opinion of the enemies. Therefore, we draw the attention of citizens to the need to observe information hygiene and more carefully check primary sources."
Yarmoshevich commented on "social media networks" about the video that the operation. "I would have been a briber, participated in various schemes, followed the lead of "certain officials", then I would have been in office for 15-20 years, like other heads of the TCC." Ground Forces command stated that the video was first released by Anatoly Shariy and spread among pro-Russian channels before making their way to Ukrainian channels.
Due to his decisions to volunteer for the frontline it's unlikely any further investigation will be conducted into who these women are and their motivations.

Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
Commentary of the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov follows, below:
Two Years since the Staged Performance in Bucha
Two years ago Ukrainian media outlets began spreading the monstrous forgery aimed at accusing Russia of committing a massacre in the town of Bucha. However, the sequence of events both before and after this date suggests that Russia has had no role whatsoever in this eerie theatrical performance.
First of all, Russian troops left the town at the end of March as a gesture of good will, signaling progress in the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Istanbul. Even local Ukrainian municipal authorities weren’t aware of supposed “piles of bodies” on the streets after the withdrawal of Russian forces.
The story only unravels when Ukrainian Security Forces arrived in Bucha – several days after Russians had left the area. Within hours, the joint Western/Ukrainian fake news factory blew up the supposed “Russian massacre” plot with unprecedented levels of brutality and clumsiness.
One cannot help but notice the same signature propaganda style as with the notorious British-Syrian “White Helmets”.
Suddenly, Russia was once again demonized for actions that it had not committed. Moscow was accused of shooting civilians en masse using firearms, but the results of an investigation published by the UK-based “The Guardian” indicated that the majority of deaths were as a result of anti-infantry shells used by Ukrainians.
Russian authorities attempted to call a meeting of the UN SC members on this matter, but it was blocked by the British representatives chairing the Council at that time.
Such behavior was indicative of British eagerness to undermine the progress in the Istanbul peace negotiations. London’s role in this disgusting theater appears even more suspicious if we take into account the swiftness of pre-determined sanctions and expulsions of Russian diplomats that followed the baseless accusations.
When the UN SC meeting eventually assembled, the majority of Member-States supported the idea of an independent investigation looking into the Bucha events. Our multiple inquiries to various international organizations, including to the UN Secretary General and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, demanding a proper investigation and a comprehensive list of victims are without a response to this day.
If anything, such behavior suggests that the “collective West” continues to blindly cover up the Ukrainian involvement in this bloody affair, while Russia remains the scapegoat for all of its heinous crimes. One way or another, facts are stubborn things, and truth will eventually prevail.
Statement by a Russian representative during the interactive dialogue on the situation of human rights in Ukraine, UNHRC 55th Session (from Geneva, April 2nd, 2024)
❗ Statement by a Russian representative during the interactive dialogue on the situation of human rights in Ukraine, UNHRC 55th Session:
📍 April 2, 2024, Geneva
❗️ The OHCHR bias regarding the situation of human rights in Ukraine cannot but cause indignation. Instead of providing an objective picture, the Office whitewashes Kiev, shifting the blame for its crimes onto Russia. The thousands of pages of materials we have submitted, documenting numerous Ukrainian violations, are being ignored.
🇺🇦 Systemic discrimination against national, linguistic and religious minorities, forced Ukrainization and de-Russification have become Ukraine’s calling card. Schoolchildren are prohibited from speaking in their native Russian language. Russian culture is being banned. The Ukrainian authorities are gradually destroying the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, arresting its priests and confiscating the Church's property.
🤐 Harsh censorship in Ukraine is being silenced. There is still no reaction to the "Mirotvorets" website, which publishes data on potential victims of the Ukrainian special services, including 300 children. The website cynically refers to those already deceased as “eliminated".
❌ The OHCHR fails to notice Kiev’s total ban on any opposition, repressions and extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions, torture, cancellation of elections and usurpation of power by Zelenskiy. The OHCHR turns a blind eye to the rise of neo-Nazism in Ukraine, glorification of Hitler's accomplices in the country, as well as education of children in hatred towards members of other ethnic and language groups.
👉 We call on the High Commissioner and his Office to give a proper response to these and many other revolting actions of the Kiev authorities.
So 200 years after Napoleon again the French army will be sent against Russians officially (inofficially they were there anyway already) even this month!

France is serious about sending troops to Ukraine
Apparently French President Macron is serious about his idea of sending regular French troops to Ukraine to fight Russia. Macron has also announced that he will not turn to NATO in the event of Russian attacks on his soldiers.
from Anti-Spiegel
April 3, 2024 4:39 p.m
The idea of sending ground troops from NATO countries to Ukraine, which French President Macron brought up at an EU summit at the end of February, was controversial from the start. However, it led to European politicians subsequently openly declaring that NATO soldiers were already active in Ukraine. Just recently, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that the reality is that every NATO member state already has military personnel in Ukraine, such as military attachés or people who travel to Ukraine from time to time. However, German media remain silent about this sensitive issue and at best report on it in very small print.
NATO's concerns
Now the Wall Street Journal has published under the headline “ Macron didn’t want to humiliate Putin. Now he wants to be tough ,” reported about it. The US fears that Western countries could become involved in the conflict in Ukraine if Russia attacks French soldiers while they are in the combat zone.
According to the newspaper's source, the US government is concerned that Russian forces could attack French troops if sent into the combat zone, which would lead to the involvement of France and other Western countries in the conflict. The newspaper reports that the issue of soldiers deployed to Ukraine has been the subject of discussion among NATO allies, particularly the question of the collective response of NATO members in the event of the death of soldiers.
France appears to want to brush off concerns because, according to the Wall Street Journal, France has no intention of asking NATO allies for help in the event of a Russian attack on its soldiers in Ukraine. President Macron explained this. In his opinion, “there is no need to involve NATO or the US when Russia attacks French troops.” France, for example, suffered losses in military actions in Africa without asking its allies for help,” Macron was quoted as saying, citing sources.
Are French soldiers already in Ukraine?
In recent months there have been repeated reports that French “mercenaries” have been killed in Russian missile attacks. There is a suspicion that these were French soldiers from the Foreign Legion, who are part of the regular French armed forces. According to Russian reports , there is already unrest in French government circles because the large number of French losses can no longer be kept secret and the losses are also leading to the French army having more and more difficulty recruiting new “volunteers” for secret missions in Ukraine to find. This could be the reason why Macron now officially wants to send soldiers in order to be able to explain the deaths and to no longer have to rely on “volunteers”.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at her weekly press conference that 1,500 soldiers in France are being prepared for a deployment to Ukraine that could begin as early as April. She literally said :
“There is new information in Paris about the preparation of a military contingent to be sent to Ukraine. For this purpose, the command of the French Foreign Legion approved the formation of a tactical battalion group of approximately 1,500 men at the beginning of March. The group is expected to be brought into full combat readiness in April for rapid deployment to the Ukrainian theater.”
French soldiers may already be in the combat zone, as the Russian news agency TASS, citing a representative of the pro-Russian underground in Ukraine, also reported today that mercenaries from France, Georgia and fighters from the terrorist organization Russian Volunteer Corps had arrived in Kharkov. Accordingly, the mercenaries also brought equipment and ammunition with them.
According to the source, this could indicate that further attacks are planned in Russia's Belgorod region. A similar “invasion of mercenaries” was also reported in Sumy, Ukraine.
However, if these were not mercenaries associated with the “Russian Volunteer Corps”, but also regular French soldiers, it would also be conceivable that they were preparing for a Russian attack in Kharkov. Russia is advancing in the relevant sector of the front and has severely affected the power supply in Kharkov in recent days, which can be interpreted as a harbinger of an upcoming offensive. Kharkov is important to the Russian government because liberating the originally Russian city of Kharkov and its surrounding areas would end the Ukrainian terrorist attacks on Belgorod.

Excerpts, or perhaps some meaty morsels, from Simplicius The Thinker's Lyceum today:
"The [Bloomberg] author even echoes my words, writing that ‘contrary to the predominant view that this is a perpetual frozen conflict’ Ukraine, in actuality, faces a real risk of being driven back. He goes on to absurdly mention there could still be a slight glimmer of hope, that perhaps Putin might be ‘overthrown’ by a coup. Do these midwits even follow Russian news or know anything of Russian society? Both Russia’s elite, political class, and citizenry have never before been as united as they are now. There is zero chance of any hoped-for “coup”—this is children’s talk.
"..there are increasing ‘whispers’ of the eventual total evacuation of Kharkov city. Not only due to the electricity problems after Russia’s hits on the region’s power plant, but in anticipation of a new potential front being opened from the north."
"His [Zelensky's] explanation gives away Ukraine’s strategy. In 2023 Russia sat back and defended against Ukraine’s large ‘offensive’, so here Zelensky appears to believe that if Ukraine can launch some semblance of another attack, it will delay or negate Russia’s own mass offensive which everyone seems to be expecting for this year. This would be Ukraine’s ploy to continue buying time for themselves: launch another futile, fruitless meat attack with massive losses, exchanging tens of thousands of times for a few more borrowed months for Zelensky’s *illegitimate regime from going to the gallows."
*Yes, it is illegitimate given that by Ukrainian constitution Zelensky's tenure as president expired March 31st 2024 (Tintin)
From the American Spectator magazine:
"Their entire thesis is as follows:
How does the Ukraine-Russia war end? In an October surprise.
Ukraine, which became independent on 24 August 1991, will be dissolved and a New Ukraine will come into being by virtue of a unilateral declaration by the present Government of Ukraine, with the support of the military high command. The de jure boundaries of New Ukraine will reflect and be co-terminus with the territory currently under the de facto administrative control of the present Government of Ukraine. New Ukraine will be compact; cohesive and well-integrated politically, economically, and socially (i.e., ethnically, linguistically, and culturally); and will have demonstrably defensible borders. Accordingly, New Ukraine will have the strategic autonomy to decouple from Russia’s sphere of influence without joining economic and military blocs such as the EU and NATO."
"It’s certainly an interesting direction, supported by some evidence, like recent Western statements that point to Ukraine not being able to retake previous territories, and even the beginnings of discussions justifying or selling the idea that Donbass is really not Ukrainian after all.
Such a thing could be a last-ditch desperate offer from the West to Ukraine: give up all Russian-held territories, declare a new unified Ukraine, and we will dangle that NATO/EU carrot over you closer than ever."
Those of us who have been assiduously following this SMO and digesting well-informed commentary won't of course see anything particularly 'new' in this: to a Spectator audience however it would perhaps be somewhat revelatory (Tintin)

Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
This probably belongs to both the 'WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia' and 'Israel vs Palestine' threads.
The following report by Kim Iversen describes the recent ISIS attack against Chinese workers in Pakistan which will disrupt China's 'belt and road initiative'. China Suspects US and Israel Behind Latest ISIS-K Attack On Chinese https://youtube.com/watch?v=WNmhDwrxvR0
Anybody else wonders why ISIS has never attacked Israel? Why would they now start attacking Russians and Chinese? ISIS started in Syria at the time that USA and Israel instigated a civil war to overthrow the Syrian government. In fact, ISIS received support from both the USA and Israel. There's a pattern here, looks like ISIS is being used by the USA-Israel axis to stall the BRICS progress, just as they used Ukraine.
Here's the best analysis I've seen on these issues, by journalist Richard Medhurst:
"Richard Medhurst, independent journalist from the United Kingdom, presents his geopolitical analysis in this viral video exposing the hidden reasons behind the US and Israel's war on Gaza.
1. Control of the large quantities of gas in the mediterrenean sea through sanctions on Iran (withdrawal from nuclear deal), Russia (Ukraine war), and crippling Lebanon, Syria, and now Gaza's, infrastructure. Conveniently, this leaves only Israel able to extract the gas in the Leviathan gas field, necessary to deliver on its gas deal with the European Union following the outbreak of the Ukraine war.
2. Countering BRICS, China, and the New Silk Road. Shortly before the war in Gaza began, Netanyahu had announced his "plan for a New Middle East" establishing a rival trade route from India, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and into Occupied Palestine and Europe."

There may be little value in Ukraine deploying Western F-16 fighter jets because Russia has already taken measures to counter them, Ukrainian military officials have told Politico.
Speaking to the outlet on the condition of anonymity, the officials complained that decisions by the US and its allies to provide new military capabilities to Kiev often come too late. The F-16s are an example of systems that “come when they’re no longer relevant,” according to one official.
“Every weapon has its own right time. F-16s were needed in 2023; they won’t be right for 2024,” he said.
The official explained that in recent months Russian forces had been launching long-range anti-aircraft missiles from Crimea but without explosive payloads. The Ukrainians were initially puzzled by this but subsequently realized that it was an exercise in range-finding in order to determine the optimal placement of its S-400 radars and batteries to target the F-16s and keep them at bay, he explained.
The Politico sources had served under Valery Zaluzhny, the former top general in the Ukrainian armed forces, who was removed by President Vladimir Zelensky in February after a public disagreement on the feasibility of continued attempts to retake territory. In a keynote article he wrote for The Economist last year, Zaluzhny said that without a radical breakthrough in military technology on the scale of the invention of gunpowder the conflict would turn into a war of attrition.
“Zaluzhny used to call it ‘the War of One Chance,’” one of his officers told Politico about the general’s thinking about arms quickly becoming outdated.
"For example, we used Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles – but just for a short time. The Russians are always studying. They don’t give us a second chance"
The officer was referring to the air-launched weapons given to Ukraine by the UK and France.
The sources who spoke to Politico criticized the replacement of their ex-boss, General Aleksandr Syrsky, who claimed last week that a reassessment of personnel needs by the army allows it to drastically reduce the target for mobilization. Zaluzhny had said that as many as 500,000 men needed to be conscripted, a statement that elicited a rebuke from the president. The senior officers said Syrsky was “playing along with narratives from politicians.”
While in Ukraine, raiding squads forcibly force men into military service, in Russia 30,000 men volunteer for service at the front every month. After the terrorist attack in Moscow, their number even increased.
While there are mass reports from Ukraine of violent kidnappings of men on the street for military service, in Russia 30,000 men volunteer for service at the front every month. This number is known in Russia, but was described by Spiegel a few days ago as a “finding” from the British secret service. Der Spiegel wasn't above misinforming its readers by concealing the fact that these were volunteers. Instead, Der Spiegel suggested that the men would be drafted, as the article 's introduction stated:
“According to British military intelligence, Russia is drafting tens of thousands of men every month to fight in the war against Ukraine. The Kremlin has so far avoided an official further wave of mobilization.”
The Western media is desperately trying to convey to its readers that the Russians are tired of the war and are against Putin; the Spiegel article was one of the many building blocks of this untruthful propaganda.
Now the Russian Defense Ministry has reported that the number of volunteers has even increased after the terrorist attack in Moscow. In the ten days after the terrorist attack in Moscow, 16,000 volunteers reported to the Russian military. The Russian Defense Ministry said:
“Most candidates cited a desire to seek revenge for the victims of the March 22 tragedy as their main reason for entering into the contract.”
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, up to 1,700 people come across the country every day to sign contracts with the Russian military. This means that the total number of volunteers has risen to 100,000 men since the beginning of the year, which Western media of course did not report on.
If the goal of those behind the terrorist attack was to damage or even break Russian morale, then the opposite was achieved, as I discover every day in conversations with Russians.
On the other hand, the Western media ignores the brutal forced conscription in Ukraine, where men are forcibly captured on the streets, on public transport, in fitness clubs and even in their homes and carted off to the front. Unfortunately, polls in Ukraine are currently not possible due to the repression in the country, but morale in Ukraine - in contrast to Russia - is likely to be at zero, as the many videos of brutal grab squads in Ukrainian cities show.
Under pressure, Ukrainian President Zelensky has now lowered the age for compulsory conscription from 27 to 25 years. In this way, Kiev hopes to be able to forcibly draft up to half a million additional men in this age group.

Russia hits ‘foreign mercenaries’ base in Ukraine – MoD 4 Apr, 2024
The latest strikes also targeted an ammunition depot in Kharkov Region, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said
The Russian military has carried out high-precision strikes on an ammunition depot and a temporary base for foreign mercenaries in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has announced.
Both targets were located near the town of Merefa, about 20km (12 miles) southwest of Kharkov, it said in a statement on Thursday. “Operational-tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces, and artillery” were involved in the attack, it added.
Underground coordinator Sergey Lebedev claimed in an interview with RIA Novosti news agency that one of the targets was the Merefa Mechanical Plant, where Kiev troops were producing and storing drones, while the second was a tank school, which housed tanks and instructors provided by Ukraine’s foreign backers.
A train carrying Ukrainian troops and equipment, which was unloading not far from the school at the time of the strikes, was also hit, he stated. However, these details have yet to be confirmed by officials.
Earlier on Thursday, Ukrainian officials and media reported that residential infrastructure in Kharkov had been hit by drones. According to the reports, the attacks resulted in at least four deaths. The drones also reportedly hit a thermal power plant located near the village of Slobozhanskoye, 55km from Kharkov.
Moscow has repeatedly said that its forces do not target civilians.
Russian forces first began targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the autumn of 2022 in response to the bombing of the Crimean Bridge. Kiev had initially denied responsibility, but later admitted its involvement in the attack.
Russia has stepped up its airstrikes on Ukrainian military targets and critical infrastructure in the wake of Kiev’s recent attempted incursions into Russia’s Belgorod and Kursk Regions, as well as indiscriminate attacks on settlements along the border.
Russian President Vladimir Putin last month suggested that a “cordon sanitaire” – a sort of a buffer zone – should be established on Kiev-controlled territories to protect the Russian population in regions bordering Ukraine.
Text:
The main goal of those behind the bloody and terrible terrorist attack in Moscow was to damage our unity, President Vladimir Putin said, adding that there could be no other goal, as Russia could not be a target for terrorist attacks by Islamic fundamentalists.
"We have a country that shows a unique example of interfaith harmony and ethnic unity," Putin said.
Text:
Over the last 10 days, about 16 thousand Russians have signed contracts to participate in the SMO - the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Since the beginning of this year, more than 100 thousand people have already entered military service under contract in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Every day, up to 1,700 people come to contract selection centers across the country to enlist in the military.
Possibly not the outcome Ukraine was hoping for...
The purpose of this operation is to protect people who, for eight years now, have been facing humiliation and genocide perpetrated by the Kiev regime. To this end, we will seek to demilitarise and denazify Ukraine, as well as bring to trial those who perpetrated numerous bloody crimes against civilians, including against citizens of the Russian Federation.
Another brigade from the 150s batch makes an official appearance.
On October 17, 2023, we reported about the creation of five new Ukrainian mechanized brigades for the possible counter-offensive in 2024. The 151st Mechanized Brigade was officially revealed on October 30 while 154th Mechanized Brigade on November 1.
Today, the 153rd Mechanized Brigade was publicly announced. The unit received its insignia and motto – the power of unconquered.
Since January, the armed forces of Ukraine have lost more than 80 thousand servicemen, 14 thousand units of various weapons, including more than one thousand two hundred tanks and other armored combat vehicles.
The lack of vehicles forced Ukrainian command to back down from the original plans. The leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reorganized the 153rd Mechanized Brigade into an infantry brigade. This change was announced through the official social media channels of the brigade.
While the official reason behind the change remains undisclosed, it is presumably linked to the shortage of infantry fighting vehicles.
...
The reorganization of the 153rd Brigade may not be an isolated occurrence. According to our sources, the 152nd Mechanized Brigade is also slated for transformation into an infantry brigade in the near future.
Each day the Russian Ministry of Defense reports the observed losses of the Ukrainian army. While the reported numbers are unlikely to be exact the reports are considered to be reliable and do tell a story.
In the first year of the war the Ukrainian army often lost more armored vehicles per day than general vehicles, i.e. trucks. By mid 2023 the numbers of armored vehicle and trucks destroyed per day, as reported by the MoD, were about equal. By the end of 2023 that ratio was on average two trucks per one armored vehicle. It has since increased further. Yesterday's report claimed 32 destroyed Ukrainian trucks but only 4 destroyed armored vehicles.
The numbers provide that the armed forces of Ukraine, as well as its allies, have run out of armored vehicles of all kinds.
A mechanized brigade is supposed to have some 100 armored (i.e. 'mechanized') vehicles of various kind plus some 30 tanks. An infantry brigade has, if its lucky, some unarmored trucks or buses.
An infantry brigade can only fight on foot. Its men have to dig in, by hand, to have a chance stay alive without armor protection. To do this in an environment where the enemy has a near perfect view of the battlefield, a reported artillery supremacy of 7 to 1 plus the ability to drop hundreds of precision guided bombs deep behind the frontline is not really survivable.
A 2024 counter offensive by the armed forces of Ukraine was and is a pipe dream. The five new brigades will be destroyed as soon as they come near to the frontline.
Ukraine has been demilitarized. It is high time to acknowledge that.
To give up now is the only way for Ukraine to survive.
U.S. Has Claimed Duty to Warn but Did Not do it
April 03, 2024
U.S. intelligence sources have, at times, fed bullshit to Seymour Hersh:
DUTY TO WARN Seymour Hersh, Mar 27 2024 (emphasis added)
This American intelligence community passed a warning of a possible attack involving religious extremists from Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan eighteen days in advance of the Moscow concert hall assault that killed at least 137 people and injured more than one hundred. Such a warning invariably comes from intercepts from the National Security Agency and agent reports from the Central Intelligence Agency. The Americans did their job but the Russian intelligence community, heeding its boss, did not. President Vladimir Putin publicly called the warning “provocative statements” three days before the attack, and the Russian security services ignored it. They bear responsibility, in the view of American intelligence experts, for failing to do what was necessary to protect the concertgoers.
According to the above President Putin of Russia is responsible for ignoring the warning of a terror attack the U.S. gave to Russia.
Similar bullshit was fed to Shane Harris of the Washington Post:
More than two weeks before terrorists staged a bloody attack in the suburbs of Moscow, the U.S. government told Russian officials that Crocus City Hall, a popular concert venue, was a potential target, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.
...
The Russian leader himself publicly dismissed U.S. warnings just three days before the March 22 attack, calling them “outright blackmail” and attempts to “intimidate and destabilize our society.”
It is again Putin who is to blame.
However the above claims are nonsensical. As Shane Harris writes further down in his piece:
But the information that pointed to an attack on the concert hall also pointed at a potential danger for Americans in Russia. On March 7, the U.S. Embassy publicly announced that it was “monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, to include concerts,” and advised U.S. citizens “to avoid large gatherings over the next 48 hours.” The United States shared its information with Russia the day before that public warning, according to people familiar with the matter. Naryshkin said “U.S. intelligence agencies” gave the information to the FSB, Russia’s state security service.
The public warning was given on March 8. It was explicitly time limited:
People have been told to avoid concerts in the next 48 hours amid potential ‘extremist attacks’. The US Embassy in Moscow urged its citizens against attending large gatherings in the Russian capital.
...
‘The embassy is monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, including concerts, and US citizens should be advised to avoid large gatherings over the next 48 hours,’ it read.
Britain’s Foreign Office echoed the US alert, sharing it on the Travel Advice page for the country.
The warning said that the danger was during the next 48 hours, not during the days that followed those.
Putin dismissed the warning on March 19, nine days after it had exceeded its time horizon. The attack on the Crocus hall happened on March 22. There had been no new warning issued for that or any other day.
Former CIA agent Larry Johnson, who has personal experience with such warnings, is thus correct when he writes:
During the last 35 years I do not recall a single instance in which the State Department issued a warning like this specifying a specific time period for vigilance. The warning itself implies intelligence that provided a specific timeframe for the attack. So, when the attack does not happen, you need to go back to the analysts and ask, WTF!!! If the analysts had said, “Oh, wait, the Russians boosted security at the Crocus City Hall on 8 March and scared off the attack,” then the next question should have been, “Do you still believe there will be another attempt?” The analysts could have said yes, no or maybe. So, if you believe the intelligence is credible then it was incumbent on the USG to issue another warning to continue to avoid large gatherings, such as concert halls. The USG did not do that.
Nope. The USG is pushing the line that “We warned the Russians and they did not act.” Sure looks like a psy-op to me designed to paint Putin as a heartless goon who ignored our intelligence.
And that is exactly what it is.
The attack itself was done by hired killers, not by devoted Muslims willing to die for their believe. It is thus hard to swallow the claim that the real Khorosan branch of the Islamic State is responsible for it. That branch by the way has always been known to be a CIA operation.
Arnaud Bertrand @RnaudBertrand - 9:03 UTC · Apr 2, 2024 This is really worth sharing: a top Chinese international relations scholar (Ma Xiaolin, director of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies at Zhejiang International Studies University) shares his view on why ISIS is now targeting geopolitical enemies of the West.
I translated his article in full - original in Chinese here: https://tidenews.com.cn/news.html?id=2754250
From Bertrand's translation:
Before the end of 2017, the Islamic State was essentially defeated as a territorial entity, suffering a fatal blow and being forced to disband and go underground, with its focus shifting from West Asia to Central Asia. The Khorasan branch, active in Afghanistan and Pakistan, became the main force, taking up the banner of terrorism and frequently acting, gradually adjusting its survival rules and strategic direction. Over the years, there have been signs that the Islamic State's targets for revenge have clearly shifted to Eastern countries, no longer viewing the US and Europe as primary enemies, and completely deviating from its original goals of ending US global dominance and "liberating Palestine".
...
Despite the US indirectly or directly warning Iran and Russia of Islamic State attacks, suspicions remain.
...
On November 15, 2017, the Russian Ministry of Defense publicly condemned the US military for sheltering retreating Islamic State militants; the Russian Foreign Ministry also stated that US forces in Syria had more than once allowed terrorists to escape. Consequently, Russia became the primary target for Islamic State reprisals and attacks. In December of the same year, the group attacked a supermarket in Saint Petersburg, injuring 18 people.
Russian media revealed that since 2018, the US and other Western allies have repeatedly airlifted Islamic State leaders and key members out of eastern Syria, their whereabouts unknown. In January 2019, the Russian Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs stated that unidentified helicopters were transporting large numbers of Islamic State militants from eastern Syria to the border area between Tajikistan and Russia, preparing to provoke Russia.
Moreover, on September 2, 2022, just before the 22nd anniversary of the "9/11" attacks, ISKP did not commemorate its predecessors' landmark attack on the US homeland; instead, it targeted China for the first time in its publication "The Voice of Khorasan". Three days later, the group launched a suicide attack on the Russian embassy in Afghanistan, killing two Russian diplomats.
Clearly, ISKP has become the core force of the Islamic State, with its stance representing the new core and top-level position of the Islamic State. The struggling Islamic State is openly changing its stance to show goodwill towards the US and Europe and hostility towards China, Russia, and Iran, hoping to benefit from the confrontation between major powers.
The Russian and Chinese suspicion that IS-K has been formed or is used as a tool of U.S. intelligence service is well founded.
Three years ago, based on reports from the Afghan Analyst Network and other sources, I found that IS-K and the CIA had strong relations:
Over the years several reports by the Afghan Analyst Network (AAN) about the Islamic State in Khorasan Province (ISKP or ISIS-K) show that it had grown out of militant groups from Pakistan. A report from 2016 describes extensively how they were fostered by the Afghan state:
...
The Afghan state's NDS was a CIA proxy agency. During the mid 1990s the intelligence chief of the Northern Alliance, Amrullah Saleh, had been trained by the CIA in the United States. After the U.S. overthrew the Taliban government Saleh became the head of the NDS. The NDS also had extensive relations with India's secret service.
While the U.S. pretended to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) consistent reports from various sides alleged that core ISIS personnel were extracted by unmarked U.S. helicopters from Iraq and Syria and transferred to Nangarhar where they reinforced the ISKP militants.
Hadi Nasrallah @HadiNasrallah - 1:18 UTC · Aug 28, 2021 In 2017 and 2020, Syria’s SANA reported that that US helicopters transported between 40 and 75 ISIS militants from Hasakah, North Syria to an “unknown area”. The same thing was reported for years in Iraq by the PMU along with reports that US helicopters dropped aid for ISIS.
The list of governments, former government officials, and organizations in the region that have accused the US of supporting ISIS-K is expansive and includes the Russian government, the Iranian government, Syrian government media, Hezbollah, an Iraqi state-sponsored military outfit and even former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who called the group a “tool” of the United States ...
Like in Iraq and Syria the CIA's fostering of ultra-militant Islamists led to a backlash as the militants increasingly attacked the Afghan state. The U.S. military finally found it necessary to intervene against them. But the fighting against them on the ground was mostly done by the Taliban who for that purpose received direct support from the U.S. air force.
The concert hall attack in Russia was attributed to IS-K because the IS-affiliated Amaq News Agency had published videos by the murderers who were from Tajikistan. But the fact that someone knew whereto submit such videos does not prove a strong connection between those entities.
It seems IS-K, like certain journalists, is just a tool used by U.S. intelligence services to further their information and terror operations while blaming U.S. 'enemies', here Putin, for the results.
But what is really disturbing is that people fall for it.
Estonia is one of the biggest money laundering countries in the world. And since Ukraine is currently a big money laundering operation for corporations it doesnt surprise me. Just makes sad .
Alot of Russias wealth was moved to the west through Estonia already after bolshevik revolution and then again after soviet union broke up.In the beginning of 90´s Estonia was one of the biggest exporter of copper and all kinds of rare metals although Estonia dont have that kind of resources or mines... All was looted after privatization etc what followed after soviet union.Whole industries were sold for pennies and turned into scrap metal.
Also this is good example from modern times how the west still loots Russia through Estonia. The Danske Bank money laundering scandal arose in 2017-2018 when around €800 billion of suspicious transactions flowed from Estonian, Russian, Latvian, and other sources through the Estonia-based bank branch of Denmark-based Danske Bank from 2007 to 2015. It has been described as possibly the largest money laundering scandal ever in Europe and as possibly the largest in world history.
Right now Estonia is ruled by jewish freemasons,Mainly the high ranking one Siim Kallas who became president of Bank of Estonia after soviet union broke .He added masonic symbols to Estonian money and personally signed hundreds of loans to shady shelfcompanies who immediatly deceased to exist and ran away with money.
100 million went missing that way and with that money he created a new political party (Reformierakond) that has been ruling over Estonia ever since with lies and hardcore corruption. Police tried to investigate it at some point but all witnesses died suspiciously and the jew-maffia created their own secret police who took over the investigation. Military intelligence exposed some of their shady deals with russia and as an result they liquidated Estonias military intelligence/espionage. All is under control of the secret police controlled by the ruling party who made them.
Right now Estonia is led by half-dictator Kaja Kallas ,who is the leader of the ruling party (reformierakond) and daughter of Siim Kallas. Her ex-husband is overruler of Estonias Electricity which is one of the worlds most expensive . They cut down most of Estonians forrests and sold them to England to burn in power plants as pellets and they call it Green Energy... Oh,and that Kaja Kallas also was a candidate for becoming a leader of Nato. She is incredibly dumb. It´s kinda like dumbass George Bush was handled by his daddy.Similar case.
Also they are very pro-slavic and since they been ruling Estonia demography has shifted from 60% Estonian and 40% Russian to vice versa so its just a matter of time when majority will rule over minority.
Also that ruling party has been very anti-putin and been barking at their direction for a long time. While russia/putin tried to build better economic relations with Estonia the ruling party has constantly made it worse.. It all seems intentional. Rulers have looted the country and are squeezing the last out of it before giving away the remains to russians... All probably planned by the ¨big boys¨,masons etc .
