As a result of the night strike by the “Dagger”, some sources estimate that up to three hundred Air Force officers and NATO Allied Forces personnel, including Polish, French and American instructors, could be killed. The wounded are taken to Poland.
That seems to be a very significant response by Russia that may remind the NATO military planners that the Kinzhal can take out anything anywhere. If it can reach Lvov with pinpoint accuracy, it can also do the same in Poland, Romania, or even Germany and beyond.
Yes, and a reminder that just about nowhere is safe from Russian ISR and materiel.
At the Yavorovsky training ground in the Lvov region, the command post for managing F-16 fighters was hit
It's noted that the “Kinzhal” also hit a training center and a dormitory for 200 people.
💥 Previously, in underground facilities, training of flight crews of the Ukrainian Air Force and preparation for organizing flights took place in coordination with the NATO control center located in Poland. At the time of the strike, there were up to 410 people there.

Answers to questions from journalists following the visit to Uzbekistan
Date: May 28th, 2024
Vladimir Putin answered questions from representatives of the Russian media following his state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The press approach took place at Tashkent airport.
"In general, it can happen without participation - and does happen without the participation of Ukrainian military personnel. And other systems, for example, such as ATACMS, are also prepared on the basis of space reconnaissance, [goals] are formulated, and are automatically brought to the appropriate calculations - they may not even understand what they are entering - and the calculation may be Ukrainian calculation, enters the corresponding flight task. But this task is being prepared not by Ukrainian military personnel, but by representatives of NATO countries.
So, these representatives of NATO countries, especially in Europe, especially in small countries, must be aware of what they are playing with. They must remember that these are, as a rule, states with a small territory and a very dense population. And this is a factor that they must keep in mind before talking about striking deep into Russian territory.".

Western experts realizing NATO expansion was a mistake – Lavrov
Historians and political scientists in the West have finally grasped that NATO’s post-Cold War expansion led to conflict in Europe, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said, adding that this expansion was driven by Washington’s “irresistible desire” to dominate the continent.
“Today, many historians and political scientists in the West express the point of view that their colleagues have been declaring for many, many years, maybe even decades. This is the fact that when the Warsaw Pact ceased to exist, when the Soviet Union extended its hand for unification with Europe, the US and the West as a whole on the basis of equality, mutual benefits and respect, no one dissolved NATO. And actually no one planned to,” Lavrov told a meeting of ambassadors in Moscow on Wednesday
“They got this idea that ‘we’ll expand NATO so that every country in the Black Sea around Russia is a NATO country. We’ll get Romania and Bulgaria, we’ll get Ukraine and we’ll get Georgia’,” Sachs explained. “And the reason was very clear. This is our way to basically dominate Eurasia. We are the sole superpower. We are unchallenged.”
The US-made vehicles have reportedly proven inadequate on the modern battlefield, officers have told CNN
Main battle tanks the US has provided to Ukraine have inadequate armor and ammunition for the modern battlefield, their operators have admitted to CNN, complaining about being priority targets for Russian drones.
Though the tanks arrived too late for last year’s summer offensive, they entered battle in February. Russian forces have documented eight Abrams kills so far. One of the wrecked tanks was even towed to Moscow as a trophy.
“Its armor is not sufficient,” one soldier from Ukraine’s 47th Mechanized Brigade, stationed in Donbass, told CNN – the first Western reporters to observe the Abrams on the Ukrainian battlefield.
“It doesn’t protect the crew. For real, today this is the war of drones. So now, when the tank rolls out, they always try to hit them,” said the soldier, identified only by the callsign ‘Joker.’
“Without defense, the crew doesn’t survive on the battlefield,” said his teammate, ‘Dnipro.’
The 47th is the only Ukrainian unit operating the US-made tanks. The brigade is now working on field modifications to the M1A1, including mounting boxes of reactive armor – as witnessed by CNN – as well as wire frames that the Ukrainians previously derided as “cope cages” when employed by the Russians.
CNN’s reporting seemed to contradict statements from the Pentagon last month that the Abrams were pulled back from the battlefield because of the threat from Russian drones. The US behemoth has proven particularly vulnerable to kamikaze UAVs striking their weak upper armor.
Ukrainian tankers complained that electronics inside the vehicles can be shorted out by condensation from rain and fog. The engine on one tank, which was just shipped from Poland, had already broken down. Moreover, the US supplied them with anti-tank ammunition not suitable for what they actually have to do.
Georgia’s Efforts to Protect Itself From Foreign Meddling Cause US Outrage (hint: no way to Georgia Maidan)
This week, the Georgian parliament overturned a presidential veto and passed a bill that obliges NGOs and media that receive funding from abroad to register as "organizations pursuing the interests of a foreign power," evoking the displeasure and outrage from Western powers and their sympathizers in the country.
The United States’ anger over the new foreign agents law recently adopted in Georgia stems from the fact that non-government organizations and media currently remain the only regime change tool at the West’s disposal in this Caucasus region country, says Arno Khidirbegishvili, general director and chief editor of the Georgian Information and Analytical Agency "GEOINFORM."
During the presidency of Mikheil Saakashvili, Khidirbegishvili explains, the West had many more options available: “the Saakashvili regime itself, president Saakashvili, [foreign] aid, credits, investments and all the rest.”
“Today, only the non-government organizations and media are left – that is, foreign agents and their funding. And so we – the government, that is – hit them where it hurts, the bullseye,” he tells Sputnik.
This is why the protests against the law in question started, Khidirbegishvili explains – Western powers realized that they were losing their hold on Georgia.
According to him, Western attempts to destabilize the situation in Georgia, which involve efforts to destroy Georgia's currency, may lead to armed clashes within the country.
That, in turn, could be used as a pretext for a military intervention by a “peacekeeping” NATO force, he suggests.
Meanwhile, Western pressure aimed at bringing Georgia to heel and turning it into a weapon against Russia only evokes outrage among the Georgian people, Khidirbegishvili adds.
“If the grand purpose of the United States and the foreign agents in Georgia, including their leader [Georgian] President Zurabishvili, was to somehow push Georgia towards Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union, then they succeed splendidly,” he quips.
Former Russian President and current Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev took to social media over the weekend in response to an interview with Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and warned Poland would face a nuclear attack if Poland and its allies responded to any Russian nuclear tactical attack with a massive conventional assault on Russian forces in Ukraine.
“Warsaw will not be omitted and is certain to receive its share of radioactive ash,” wrote Medvedev in response to remarks made on the likelihood of a Russian nuclear attack by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski in an interview with The Guardian on May 25.
Sikorski assessed the likelihood of a Russian nuclear attack as low because of the stance taken by the U.S., and that Poland backed Ukraine’s right to strike at military targets inside Russia, arguing that the West had to stop constantly limiting itself in what it does to support Ukraine.
“The Americans have told the Russians that if you explode a nuke, even if it doesn’t kill anybody, we will hit all your targets (positions) in Ukraine with conventional weapons, we’ll destroy all of them. I think that’s a credible threat,” Sikorski argued.
“The Russians are hitting the Ukrainian electricity grid and their grain terminals and gas storage capacity, civilian infrastructure. The Russian operation is conducted from the HQ at Rostov-on-Don. Apart from not using nuclear weapons, Russia does not limit itself much,” he added.
Russia’s Medvedev responded on X by claiming that “Sikorski, apparently, has decided to scare his own masters” and challenged Sikorski’s assertions with regard to the Americans.
“First, the Yankees so far haven’t said anything exactly like that because they are more cautious than the Polacks. Second, Americans hitting our targets means starting a world war, and a foreign minister, even of a country like Poland should understand that,” he wrote using the pejorative term “Polack.”
Medvedev also remarked on Poland’s bid to participate in the NATO nuclear sharing program.
“And third, considering that yet another Polack, Duda, has recently announced the wish to deploy TNW in Poland, Warsaw won’t be left out, and will surely get its share of radioactive ash. Is it what you really want?” he asked, adding condescendingly, “The Polish are resentful; have been like that for over 400 years…” :chuckle::chuckle:
Vicus comment: Medvedev comments are always delicious... because he play the "bad cop"part and always say what "good cops" should not...
That is his style to say the "normal "things" that every one with a healthy common sense percent looong time ago figure out...
Documentary project “Russian Woman” is about genuine stories of women at the front. The heroine of Episode 1 is a Donbass-born sniper with the call sign “Masha”.
At 55.35 in Alexander Mercouris'video update for yesterday, he reports that the Military Summary channel has speculated that the Russian radar station at Armavir that was attacked by Ukrainian drones (and only superficially damaged) was ideally situated to detect missile launches from Israel towards Iran.
That then suggests the following possibilities:
Israel (and/or the US) may be working with Ukraine to attack those radar facilities.
Israel may be planning another missile strike against Iran (which of course Russia would warn Iran about if they detected the missile launches first.)

New Attack on Russia’s Early-Warning Radar at Armavir: NATO’s ‘Chicken Game’ with Nuclear Weapons Is On
Three “Ukrainian” drone/missile attacks in a week on Russia’s early-warning radar system—the most recent one in the early morning of May 29—have brought the world to the edge of a breakdown in global strategic security, and a nuclear war. The attacks fulfill one of Russia’s stated policy conditions for counterattack with its nuclear missile forces. Whether the NATO powers have themselves ordered and supplied these Armageddon-like attacks from Ukraine—which seems more than likely for both political and technical reasons—or have failed to stop Ukraine’s desperate leadership from launching them, the resulting “Chicken Game” with nuclear weapons is on.
During the night of May 22-23, a drone attack originating in Ukraine hit one of Russia’s 10 over-the-horizon early warning radar systems—near the city of Armavir in southwestern Russia. A second attack occurred against another radar facility in Orsk on May 26, and a third drone attack targeted Armavir again on May 29—these last two reportedly producing no damage.
These attacks, purportedly by Ukrainian-launched drones, are in fact high-stakes NATO-sponsored attacks on Russia’s sophisticated radar network which gives it the ability to detect incoming ICBM attacks with enough time to respond. According to leading experts in the field, blinding Russia at one or more radar sites lowers the threshold for nuclear war by dramatically reducing Russia’s available response time down from about 15 minutes from detection, to some 10 minutes or so—hardly enough time to safely determine if a reported launch is a false positive or the real thing. Russia’s standing nuclear warfare doctrine is to ignore the former, and respond with full nuclear force to the latter.
It is the height of strategic insanity to play this kind of nuclear chicken-game with Russia, the most powerful thermonuclear power on the planet, especially under conditions where they are already at war with NATO-armed forces in Ukraine. And yet that is exactly what Washington and London are doing, with most of NATO in tow—all the while proclaiming that “Putin is just bluffing.”
Most of the Global South, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with these deadly wars, including the continuing carnage in Gaza, or with the collapsing financial system which is fueling them. China is playing a leading role in presenting an alternative approach: through its role in the BRICS; its in-depth strategic association with Russia; its work with Arab nations on a joint approach to development; and most recently in working with fellow BRICS member Brazil to present a viable joint peace plan for Ukraine, based on mutual security and development for all parties—exactly the kind of approach that will also work in the Middle East, as best exemplified by LaRouche’s Oasis Plan.
The Schiller Institute launched a worldwide “Red Alert” press release and mobilization immediately upon learning of the May 22 attack on Armavir, taking the initiative to organize to stop the rapid escalation of the NATO-Russia war in Europe. That urgent mobilization will escalate further against the escalating war danger at the upcoming Friday, May 31 meeting of the International Peace Coalition (IPC), the 52nd consecutive Friday meeting of that grouping.
We urge you to be part of that process, and bring others to the IPC meeting with you.
Alleged Ukrainian attacks on Russian nuclear radars unnerving US – WaPo
Reports that Ukraine has attacked Russia’s early ballistic missile warning stations are unnerving the country’s American backers, according to the Washington Post on Wednesday.
Last week, Ukrainian sources claimed that two operations had been carried out against Russian long-range facilities designed to detect intercontinental ballistic missile launches. The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on the claim. Footage shared online suggests that at least one of the attacks caused damage.
In a statement on Saturday, Senator Dmitry Rogozin, who previously headed up the Russian space agency Roscosmos, said Moscow should hold the US responsible for these attacks if they were carried out by Ukraine. Washington “has hired a reckless bandit, who is trying to damage… a key element of our system of strategic nuclear forces combat control,” he stated.
A US official told the Post that Washington was “concerned” with the news, since “Russia could perceive its deterrent capabilities being targeted.” Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source added: “These sites have not been involved in supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine.”
The two facilities that apparently were attacked are over-the-horizon radar sites near Armavir, Krasnodar Region, and Orsk, Orenburg Region. The latter monitors airspace over the Middle East and China.
A Ukrainian official told the newspaper that Kiev had military reasons to attack both, because Russia had “switched all of its capabilities for war against Ukraine.” By disabling the stations, the country would undermine Russia’s ability to monitor its activities, particularly its use of drones and missiles, the source claimed.
Last week, the Austrian Armed Forces published analysis of the situation, which suggested that the attack in Armavir could have been sanctioned by the US, and was meant as a warning to Moscow, because Kiev was unlikely to get any military value from it.
There is at least 700km between the Voronezh-DM station in Armavir and the location from which Kiev could launch US-supplied Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) ballistic missiles, the report said. It would be difficult for the station to detect those low-flying projectiles at this range. Meanwhile, ICBMs usually fly at altitudes of up to 2,000km and are detectable from much longer distances.
READ MORE: Ukraine striking targets deep inside Russia with Western weapons – AFP
Kiev is currently lobbying the US to allow it to use donated long-range weapons against targets located deep inside Russia. Washington claims it has forbidden attacks outside of the territory claimed by Kiev to prevent further escalation. Ukraine has suffered a series of battlefield setbacks in recent months.

How to Start a Nuclear War
The three drone attacks on Russian early warning radar sites -- attacks claimed by Ukraine -- could have triggered an attack on NATO countries, as the Russians are convinced NATO is behind targeting its radar sites. While Western leaders are engaged in provocations, which demonstrate their commitment to war against Russia, the Global South is pursuing the development of a global economic system outside the control of the imperial predators in London and on Wall Street. Help us bring the West out from under the control of the deluded Unipolar maniacs, into a new security and development architecture.

The US is allowing Ukraine to use its transferred air defence systems in Russia, The Washington Post quotes its sources as saying.
The Americans are not opposed to shooting down Russian missiles and fighter jets in Russian skies 'if they pose a threat to Ukraine'.
However, there have been times when American officials have expressed concern about attacks against Russia and even cancelled such plans. In particular, a planned GSD attack on Moscow was cancelled. The Americans feared an aggressive response from the Kremlin.
The Americans were also against strikes on oil refineries on the territory of the Russian Federation. Even though the strikes were carried out with Ukrainian weapons.
Earlier it was reported that the AFU had used the US Patriot air defence system at least once for strikes on Russia. However, this was a system transferred from Germany. Berlin and Washington reacted negatively.

🇺🇲🇺🇦 The United States is building a plant in Texas to produce 155mm shells for Ukraine.
As the New York Times writes, this will be the first such enterprise that the Pentagon is building from scratch since the start of the war in Ukraine.
The Mexit plant will produce 30,000 artillery shells per month, roughly double current U.S. production.
However, as the newspaper points out, Ukraine fired from 4,000 to 7,000 such shells per day alone when it went on the offensive last summer (the publication refers to data from the NATO Secretary General).
That is, with more or less intensive work of the Ukrainian artillery, the monthly production of the new plant will be enough for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for less than a week.

Pepe Escobar: The West is Hell-Bent on Provoking Russia Into Hot War
🔹 For all their circumlocutions, NATO Secretary Jens Stoltenberg, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have effectively greenlighted Kiev using Western weapons for attacks deep inside the Russian Federation. The alleged debate, still ongoing, is just a “smokescreen” for the real objective: a pretext that could lead to WWIII.
🔹 There’s no reason to think Kiev will stick to “limited” strikes against relatively unimportant targets. Instead, it is likely to target critical security infrastructure in hopes of provoking an unrelenting Russian response, which in turn would pave the way for NATO to invoke Article 5 and de facto engage in a hot war.
🔹 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, once again displaying his trademark Taoist patience, had to come up with another serious reminder: Russia will regard the deployment of nuclear-capable F-16s in Ukraine – which de facto can only be operated by NATO pilots – as “a deliberate signal from NATO in the nuclear field to Russia.”
🔹 And still the gaggle of armchair Dr. Strangeloves – lavishly rewarded by the rarified Atlanticist plutocracy holding real power, funds, influence and mass media control - is not listening.

This Is What George Soros Wrote In 1993 About A Future War In Eastern Europe
A resurfaced publication by George Soros, dated 1993, discusses how crises could be manipulated by the U.S. for its own goals through using European soldiers as cannon fodder. The document casts further doubt on the Western narrative that NATO and its allies have no stake in the ongoing conflict.
The United States would not be called upon to act as the world's policeman. When they perform, they do so together with others. The combination of manpower in Eastern Europe and NATO's technological capacity [...] would reduce the risk of body bags for NATO countries.
This is stated in a document published in 1993 (!) by the Open Society Foundations of billionaire George Soros.
The document explains how the US and its allies can use countries in Eastern Europe as a proxy to fight against Russia. That way, "no NATO troops have to die".
We are carrying out NATO's mission
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Reznikov also admitted this on TV: “We are carrying out NATO's mission without bloodshed on their side. That's why they have to provide us with weapons.” Reznikov handed in his resignation last year.
Earlier, Defense Minister Ollongren said at the Warsaw Security Forum that arming Kiev is a "cost-effective way to prevent Moscow from threatening NATO."
She also said that supporting Ukraine is "a very cheap way" to ensure that Russia does not pose a threat to NATO.
