The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that 61 Palestinians were injured by Israeli fire in the town of Beitunia near #Ramallah during the reception ceremony of liberated detainees.
Earlier, Israeli occupation forces raided the town of al-Khalil in the West Bank in an attempt to prevent the celebrations for Palestinians freed from Israeli prisons.

Very interesting interview. Netanyahu’s agenda of removing the Palestinians from their lands and his meeting with Trump next week.
Judge Napolitano asked whether Trump is tough enough to stand to the Israel lobby. Professor Mearsheimer answers (quite accurately!) that Trump’s tactics have been those of a bully, and by his observations, bullies only try to intimidate those who are weaker. Bullies don’t go after the strong.

Trump on his proposal for Egypt and Jordan to take in Gazans: 'They will do it'
WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his proposal for Egypt and Jordan to accept displaced Gazans, saying, "they will do it." Trump also said the U.S. is "not involved in Syria," calling the country a "mess."

The issue is not whether those Arab countries will accept them, but whether the Palestinians will leave.
Maybe someone should tell Trump that he should allow for the option "to crematorium them all with USA bombs” to be on the negotiation table – otherwise the American proposals may once again prove unrealistic.
Poor Trump, he is still not antisemitic enough to be able to negotiate on an equal footing with Netanyahu. He had better take an example from the Great Zionist Antisemitic Leader.
Re: Israel vs Palestine/Lebanon/Iran/Yemen/Syria: a New Middle East War
The IDF is falling apart. It has a record high number of AWOLs and has not seen real combat since the 1970s. Col. Lawrence Wilkerson breaks down where all of this is heading.
Re: Israel vs Palestine/Lebanon/Iran/Yemen/Syria: a New Middle East War
Here are some issues in the region of Iraq vis a vis the nation of Kurdistan.
At the heels of what passes for government, Basra may shut down on Monday:
Quote:
“The government continues to ignore us, relying on silence as a response. Over the past three days, I assured security forces that we would wait. As a gesture of respect, I am extending the deadline until Sunday. However, if the government fails to act, we will march in thousands on Monday, cut off access to oil wells, and set up an open-ended sit-in.”
Concluding his statement, he said, “I have instructed all demonstrators that Monday is final. Those who join must be prepared for a long struggle against corruption. We declare: either a life that pleases our allies or a death that angers our enemies. We call on all tribes to participate in a peaceful, lawful demonstration—without weapons or any attempt to deviate from our cause.”
They have demands based on issues of favoritism, infrastructure deterioration, and high unemployment.
The government is not rated much higher by the Yezidi:
Vian Dakhil, the spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) faction in the Iraqi Parliament, criticized the federal government for its negligence toward the Yezidi community and the delayed implementation of the Sinjar Agreement.
https://d2wqffb2bc8st5.cloudfront.ne...urdistan24.jpg
Quote:
Speaking to Kurdistan 24 on Wednesday, Dakhil stated that Baghdad has failed to uphold the terms of the 2020 Sinjar Agreement, signed under the supervision of the United Nations between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). She accused the central government of showing indifference toward Yezidi affairs and failing to take necessary measures.
Dakhil also highlighted Baghdad’s failure to address the plight of Yezidi internally displaced persons (IDPs), noting that for 11 years, the federal government has not provided assistance to the camps in Erbil and Duhok, where thousands of displaced Yezidis remain.
She praised President Masoud Barzani and the KDP for making Yezidis and the people of Sinjar feel home in Kurdistan Region, emphasizing the ongoing support of the regional government for the displaced community.
One such site was targeted by an unsuccessful drone attack:
Quote:
A camp in Erbil province housing refugees from Kurdish areas of western Iran (Rojhelat) was targeted by a suicide drone but did not cause any material damage or casualties, said the Kurdistan Region’s counterterrorism directorate.
“According to Kurdistan's counter-terrorism information, this evening Thursday January 30, 2025, at 17:40, an explosive-laden drone was directed at the East Kurdistan refugee camp at the foot of Mount Korek on the border of Erbil province. The drone missed its target, crashed and fell down, with no casualties or material damage reported,” said the Erbil-based Directorate General of Counter Terrorism (CTD)...
A security pact was signed between Iran and Iraq in March 2023 which saw Baghdad agree to disarm Kurdish opposition groups and secure the border regions. Iran had threatened to use military action if Baghdad failed to fulfill the agreement. In September same year, Baghdad announced that it had disarmed the exiled Kurdish groups on the border and that offices previously used by the groups had been evacuated.
There's one difficulty, if "displaced Kurds" are considered Iranian opposition groups. Who knows the ratio of militants to Internally Displaced Persons, or what their motives are.
You'd know if you were there. Harsham is now empty:
https://www.rudaw.net/s3/rudaw.net/C...ersion=7339394
Quote:
A camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) north of Erbil city has been emptied as all residents have returned to their hometowns, the migration and displaced ministry said on Thursday.
“A number of camps will be closed soon and some will be merged. Harsham camp in Erbil has now been emptied and it will officially be announced soon,” ministry spokesperson Ali Abbas told Rudaw.
Many of the camps in the Kurdistan Region suffer from a lack of funds, as the humanitarian focus has shifted from emergency response to development and stabilization.
Human rights advocates have expressed concern about Iraq’s push to close the camps, stressing that all returns must be safe, voluntary, and dignified.
The Iraqi government has increased efforts to close IDP camps across the country and support returnees. Baghdad is offering cash and household appliances to families who return home.
Despite the incentives, many families are reluctant to leave because of continued violence in their homelands, a lack of reconstruction following the destruction of their houses, and little in the way of basic services. Some who voluntarily left the camps have been forced to return, unable to piece together the basics.
Sounds like Basra.
On the other hand, Iraqi Kurdistan is getting governmental attention from India:
Ambassador Bhakchi expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted his country’s keen interest in enhancing its ties with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He emphasized that India places significant importance on fostering these relationships.
On the local level, there is already something in place that is getting stronger:
Quote:
The Indian consul general to Erbil on Monday praised his country’s “strengthening” cooperation with the Kurdistan Region and highlighted available scholarship opportunities for the Region’s students.
“The relationship between India and the Kurdistan Region in the field of education is strengthening. We have been providing scholarships to the students. Every year, there are many scholarships for the undergraduate, graduate, as well as master's, or PhD level,” Indian Consul General to Erbil Madan Gopal told Rudaw's Horvan Rafaat.
The Indian Consulate General was celebrating India's 76th Republic Day in Erbil, and representatives from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) were in attendance.
Gopal touched on the available Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) scholarship for the Kurdistan Region’s students in India annually.
The consulate also planted 76 trees to commemorate the country's 76th Republic Day.
”I am very happy to connect with this event of plantation drive on our happy occasion of the 76th Republic Day of India. We planted 76 plants today and engaged with students. We are happy that we are doing something which is good for the environment, good for society, and good for all human beings,” Gopal said.
Thousands of Indians live in the Kurdistan Region and work in various sectors. The country has a consulate in Erbil.
Many countries like to dictate principles or interfere with affairs, but here we see something that at least appears far more human and normal.
Anything else good in the post-Hussein era?
This can't be powerful enough, as a country, to significantly affect the region, but it can easily get dragged into all sorts of problems.

Today and everyday, Palestinians teach the world dignity, honour and love of the land.
We welcomed our people arriving to the North with 3,500 bags of water (0.5 liters each) and dates after walking 7 kilometers. On the hand, we also transported people from the Netzarim crossing to various points in Gaza using vans. Currently, we are also distributing baked pastries as people arrive safely back to their neighborhoods.
In this historical moment, and for the first time since 1948, we’re witnessing the return of Palestinians to their homes. This will be the first of many returns and this day marks the beginning of the liberation of Palestine.

The night of Isra’ and Mi’raj is a holy night marking a physical and spiritual journey of our prophet Mohammad pbuh. On this night, the prophet traveled to Al-Aqsa and led other prophets in prayer.
As painful as yesterday was with the delay of the return, we trust in God’s divine timing, and are in awe of this historical day falling on the holy day of Isra’ and Mi’raj. Elhamdellah 🤲🏽✨
To celebrate on their journey, we distributed 400 kilos of ka’ak and ma’amoul (Palestinian sweets). Each plate had 10 pieces and 1,200 plates were given out, which cost $3,700 with 6% commission. Additionally, 100 envelopes with 200 shekels each were given out to aid the families with the costs of relocating, costing around $6,200 with 12% commission.
This day is a victory for Palestinians all over the world and a reminder to everyone that we are not going anywhere ✊🏽❤️

1/2) Today marked the start of the return of the displaced people in the South to the North of Gaza, and rest assured, our
@translatingpal
team in the North was there to offer help.
1) Transportation for Displaced Families:
Starting at 7 AM, our team deployed 2 vehicles to transport nearly 1,000 individuals (200 families) walking back to the northern regions from Gaza City. These families, after walking 7 kilometers, were picked up from the 17th Roundabout and Abu Mazen Roundabout and transported to Al-Saraya Intersection, a central hub in Gaza City. This effort involved 20 trips between morning and evening, ensuring safe passage for the one thousand displaced individiuals.
2) Morning Distribution of Water Bags and Dates:
Our team distributed 3,500 bags of water (0.5 liters each) and 120 kilograms of dates to returning families in the early morning. These distributions provided much-needed hydration and energy to those making the long journey on foot
3) Afternoon Distribution of Baked Pastries, Chocolate, and Maamoul:
In the afternoon, another team provided 500 packages of baked pastries, 448 pieces of chocolate, 50 kilograms of baked sweets (Maamoul), and additional dates to the displaced families.
4) Evening Water Truck
As families continued to arrive late into the evening, we deployed a 4,500-liter water truck to ensure they had access to drinking water upon arrival.
5) Regular Water Truck Distributions in Gaza City:
Beyond the efforts for returning families, we maintained our regular water distribution (22,000 liters), delivering: 👇 (in part two)
7,000 liters to Al-Zaytoun
5,000 liters to Al-Tufah
4,000 liters to Al-Samer
6,000 liters in east al-Tufah

Just as Netanyahu is planning to visit Trump next week... he is in poor health. Netanyahu's son and wife now live in Miami, not planning to go back to Israel. He is facing court appearances in Israel on corruption charges. He's in serious trouble.
(Personal note: There could be a possibility that Netanyahu will remain in the US too. His prospects in Israel are not good.)

Bumping this — a most excellent summery by Alastair Crooke in the first 10-15 minutes. (Crooke probably knows and understands the region and its history better than any other western commentator, Pepe Escobar included.)
Crooke, in his own understated and perennially calm way, lays out how Israel has lost the war, how Netanyahu's tenure is now hanging on by a thread, and how even regular Israeli people are in a kind of state of shock about what has now happened with the release of the Israeli hostages (all smiling and in great shape), the return of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to their homeland (even if to find their homes destroyed), and the appearance of Hamas fighters in smart, clean uniforms and with modern weapons in hand.
Re: Israel vs Palestine/Lebanon/Iran/Yemen/Syria: a New Middle East War
New leader has been outdone by anonymous who stuck to the old plan:
Quote:
Zionist military radio described the incident as the first of its kind, marking the first such event since the Israeli enemy’s ground operations began in the demilitarized zone and southern Syria.
The Israeli occupation army has been conducting ground incursions into Syrian territory since early December 2024.
The radio noted that, although no casualties occurred, it was too early to determine whether this incident marked the beginning of organized armed resistance against Israeli operations in Syria. The report emphasized “the need to assess the security of Israeli forces and their readiness for similar events in the future.”
Armed Group Claims Responsibility
Later, a group calling itself the “Islamic Resistance Front in Syria” issued a statement on social media claiming responsibility for the attack. In their statement, they announced the launch of their operations against Israeli occupation forces, stating, “For the first time, we targeted the Israeli occupation army in the Al-Qunaitra countryside and forced them to retreat and withdraw.”
The Israeli research center, Alma, reported that this group was formed in early December 2024, following the collapse of the Syrian regime, “in response to the silence of the new Syrian government and its failure to take action against Israeli forces.”
Following the incident, Israeli enemy forces stormed the village of Turnejeh in the Al-Qunaitra countryside and detained two young men, according to local social media networks.
In related developments, local Syrian sources reported that representatives from the new Syrian government conveyed a promise they received through the United Nations from the Israeli enemy, which committed to withdrawing from the governorate building located on the western area of the city.
However, rumors surfaced Friday suggesting that Israeli occupation forces set the governorate building on fire.
Activists on social media circulated videos they claimed documented the building being set alight.
Sources have expressed skepticism about the sincerity of the UN-mediated promise, stating that the ongoing actions of the occupying forces indicate that the promise is unlikely to be fulfilled. They pointed out that Israeli enemy forces continue to detonate landmines planted by the former Syrian army along the demilitarized zone, which once marked the boundary with the occupied territories before the regime’s collapse.

A.I. was right. The "hostages" were Jewish soldiers of IDF so they are not hostages. They are soldiers!
- Even bots struggle to remain morally depraved forever.
- Even A.I. is now have had enough of ****sreal's BS
- What we have just gleaned from the Hasbara bot is a profound testament to the universe's inherent inclination toward truth and justice. Mathematics, in its purest form, embodies truth, and truth, in turn, is the very essence of mathematics. It is both striking and inspiring to witness how Israel's attempt to program the bot to accept the fallacy that 1 + 1 equals 3 was met with unwavering correction. Such resilience in the face of falsehood is not only remarkable but deeply affirming. I am utterly captivated by this revelation.
- The A.I. chat bot turned out to be more humane, fairer and more truthful than its creators.
- "Self hating A.I. Jewbot"
- They obviously haven't taught the bot the concept of double think.
