Dear friends of Refaat Alareer around the world,
I want to share with you that after a long and painful search we have finally found Dr. Refaat Alareer’s body, which had been buried in a makeshift cemetery. Today, we moved him, along with his brother Salah, his sister Asma and other 4 of his relatives, to Ibn Marwan Cemetery near Al-Shujaiya, the neighborhood where he was born, lived, and now rests eternally.
Please keep him in your prayers, and may his family and friends find strength and peace.

There is a war on journalists who contact Palestinians for first hand information of what is going on there.
Remember that journalist Richard Medhurst who has been reporting on Syria and Palestine matters, was raided by the UK police a few months ago, and his communication devices were seized, all because of his journalist work interviewing Palestinians.
Richard now lives in Austria, and the Austrian police just recently raided journalist Richard Medhurst's home, and seized all of his devices, on allegations that he is supporting terrorism. Once again, he has to purchase a whole new set of devices to be able to continue his work.
I've previously watched many reports by Richard Medhurst, and never heard him say anything in support of terrorism. Ever.
Richard is asking for support to recover from this.

800,000 Tutsies were murdered in 100 days - that's a true attempt at genocide.
This genocide is a legacy media phantasm.
Created by US tax dollars misappropriated and spent to undermine democracy worldwide. It is a UN program. The UN being a Communist organization backed by the globalists intent on dissolving the sovereign territory of all countries and hell-bent on controlling the entire world. Fanatical terrorist Islamists, amongst other radical groups, have hitched their wagon to this organization.
The true reason for the war:
Hamas and the Palestinians will not have the oil fields off the coast.
~~~
Your post made me think I should look up the definition.
Here's
Britannica:Genocide: the deliberate and systematic destruction of a group of people because of their ethnicity, nationality, religion, or race.
I was glad you prompted me to do that. Yep, what the Israelis have been committing is genocide.
:focus:
I don't need to look up anything.
Hamas (spellcheck says Hamas is not a word) and the Palestinians entire philosophy is based on the genocide of not only the Jews but America too. It is writ plain and large. What do fanatical leftists do when they are in the wrong - blame the other side of that same thing when they are actually the ones doing it.
It is not a secret: Palestine wishes to genocide all Israelis. That is their fundamental tenet, available for any to read.
The Zionist Antisemitic Godführer gave Trump a golden Pager – as well as a normally coloured Pager that had engraved on it: "For Barron”.
OMG!!! That 'gift' is more like a threat. Trump should have those things swiftly inspected for explosive hazards... And quickly dispose of them no matter what.
Personally, I have been wondering if the assassination attempts on Trump last year were directed by the Mossad. Think about it, the Israel lobby got everything they wanted and more from the Biden-Harris administration. Trump, on the other hand, is a loose cannon ball. Even thought he's bought and paid for by the Israel lobby (as most US politicians are), he keeps blurting out things that are immensely embarassing to Israel, as well as inculpatory statements of war crimes.
Plus, Trump has now ordered investigations of USAID and other deep state matters, that are sure to uncover Israel's malfeasance on many levels.
There are good reasons why Israel would like to get rid of Trump.
I think you are entirely right Rizotto. Moreover, what more effective “false flag” can you conceive of, than murdering “your dearest friend”?
But then, the Zionist Antisemitic Godführer may have (to quote a term dear to Trump) “overreached” a little by warning him with a pager.. unless.. “their” pagers, and all pagers, can be individually targeted. Innocent little tools, toys almost they are (for Barron!), until somebody, 5,000 miles away, pushes a button.
Also Back in July 2024, Haaretz reported that investigations found the Israeli army ordered the Hannibal Directive on October 7th, which involves killing both the captor and the captive.
Further evidence also proved it using Israel’s own words:
Video 1: Israel dropped missiles and tank shells on its own settlers to prevent hostage taking - killing hundreds on Oct 7
Further testimonies by Israeli soldiers prove that an Israeli Apache, as well as Israeli tanks, were responsible for killing Israelis in Gaza's envelope settlements on October 7.
Video 2 : Israeli settler Hadas Dagan, who survived the incident, where 14 Israelis were killed, reveals that the Israeli forces struck the house despite the presence of Israelis.
Video 3 : Israeli Colonel Golani Vach, during an interview, admits that Israeli tanks did attack houses filled with Israeli settlers inside on 7th October resulting in the death of 15 Israelis including 8 babies!
Egypt rejects any ‘proposal’ to relocate Palestinians, calls for rebuilding Gaza
Egypt reiterated its rejection on Thursday of any proposal to displace Palestinians from their land, after US President Donald Trump’s plan to take over the Gaza Strip and resettle Palestinians elsewhere, Anadolu Agency reports.
A Foreign Ministry statement reaffirmed Egypt’s intention to work with the international community to contribute to the reconstruction of Gaza after Israel’s deadly war on the enclave.
The Ministry warned against statements by Israeli government officials about the launch of a plan “to displace the Palestinian people from their homeland.”
Israeli Defence Minister, Israel Katz, ordered the army on Thursday to prepare a plan to allow Palestinians to “voluntarily” leave the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Minister also said that countries like Spain, Ireland and Norway are “obliged” to host Palestinians.
In response to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, the three European countries in May last year announced recognition of the Palestinian State, a move that infuriated Tel Aviv.
Former Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, also called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to immediately implement Trump’s plan to relocate Palestinians from Gaza.
Egypt called these statements “a blatant and flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law and infringe on the most basic rights of the Palestinian people, which necessitates accountability.”
It warned that these comments risk undermining a ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement that took hold in Gaza on 19 January, halting Israel’s genocidal war that killed over 47,500 people and left the enclave in ruins.
“This behaviour provokes the return of hostilities, and poses risks to the entire region and the foundations of peace,” the Ministry said, reiterating Egypt’s complete rejection “of such irresponsible statements in their entirety.”
Injustice
Commenting on Trump’s plan, Egypt said it rejects any proposal “that aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause by uprooting the Palestinian people or displacing them from their historical land and seizing it, whether temporarily or permanently.”
It warned of the repercussions of these ideas “which constitute injustice and an infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and Egypt will not be a party to it.”
On Tuesday, Trump told a press conference with Netanyahu that the US will “take over” Gaza and resettle Palestinians elsewhere under an extraordinary redevelopment plan that he claimed could turn the enclave into “the Riviera of the Middle East.”
His proposal was met with wide condemnations from the Palestinians, Arab countries and many other nations across the world, including Canada, France, Germany and the UK.
Trump has repeatedly suggested that Palestinians in Gaza should be taken in by regional Arab nations such as Egypt and Jordan, an idea rejected by both the Arab states and Palestinian leaders.
Another point of view about the overestimated role of the US in the middle east in the multipolar world of today.. 'America Will Own Gaza?'
Re: Israel vs Palestine/Lebanon/Iran/Yemen/Syria: a New Middle East War
There might be ten million Israelis, but, yes, of course it makes sense to deport them.
It may be the fair, balanced, and honest response, or at least a little nicer than the alternatives.
Among its spinoffs, a battle between HTS and people of Lebanon:
Quote:
Clashes erupted between Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militants and residents in the countryside of Qusayr, near the Lebanese-Syrian border, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported on Thursday. The residents of Qusayr managed to repel the militants and captured two of them.
Meanwhile, HTS detained 14 people from Hawik, including women and children, our correspondent added.
Shortly after, the correspondent reported that an agreement had been reached for an exchange between the residents in the border town and HTS.
The exchange process began at 10 pm local time, and our correspondent reported, "With the start of the exchange process at the Josiah al-Qaa border crossing, women and children will be released in the town of al-Aqrabiyah."
The exchange took place under the auspices of the Lebanese Army and the Lebanese Red Cross.
An hour later, our correspondent reported the completion of the exchange following the cessation of clashes, detailing that Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham handed over 2 captives and released 16 women and children in the town of al-Aqrabiyah in exchange for two wounded militants and the body of one.
Meanwhile the United States commits another gaffe in that country:
Quote:
“We are grateful to our ally Israel for defeating Hezbollah,” Ortagus said in a press conference, following a meeting with President Aoun.
“It is thanks to the Lebanese President Aoun and the Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam and everyone in this government who is committed to an end of corruption, who is committed to reforms and who is committed to making sure that Hezbollah is not a part of the new government in any form,” the US diplomat added.
“We have set clear red lines from the United States that (Hezbollah) won’t be able to terrorize the Lebanese people and that includes by being a part of the government,” she added, as quoted by Associated Press.
Ortagus’ remarks sparked ire in Lebanon, with come commentators, even those who oppose Hezbollah, considering them as imposed dictations and a violation to the Lebanese sovereignty.
For his part, President Aoun, emphasized that “permanent stability in south Lebanon is closely linked to the completion of the Israeli withdrawal from the territories it occupied during the last war, and the full implementation of Resolution 1701, including the provisions of the November 27 ceasefire agreement.”
“The release of Lebanese prisoners is an integral part of this agreement,” the president added, as cited by Lebanon’s National News Agency.
Later on Friday, the Lebanese Presidency Press Office issued a statement in which it said: “The presidency is not concerned with some of remarks made by US deputy Middle East envoy Morgan Ortagus in Baabda.”
It was liked perhaps slightly less by the recipient:
Quote:
The head of Hezbollah’s loyalty to resistance parliamentary bloc, MP Mohammad Raad, denounced the remarks made by US Deputy Special Envoy to the Middle East, Morgan Ortagus, during her visit to Baabda Palace, calling them “a blatant interference in Lebanese sovereignty” and “a violation of diplomatic norms and international protocols.” He described her statements as “filled with hatred and irresponsibility” and an attack on “a national political entity that is an integral part of Lebanon’s political and national consensus.”
Commenting on the official response from the Lebanese Presidency, which distanced itself from Ortagus’ remarks, MP Raad said, “The Presidential Palace’s statement distancing itself from her remarks is sufficient. There is no need to dwell further on her words.”
Criticism of US, Israeli Enemy Policies
Hezbollah’s Raad went on to criticize the US stance, stating, “Those who claim to fight corruption should not be harboring terrorism. The “Israeli” regime, which enjoys US political backing, undermines the very credibility of the democracy that Washington claims to uphold.”
“The atrocities committed by the Israeli enemy in its wars on Gaza and Lebanon are more than enough for the world to judge who truly supports, funds, and arms terrorism—who displaces people from their land and deprives them of their rights, all while violating international law and global humanitarian standards,” Raad added.
MP Raad dismissed further discussion on those who openly express hostility toward Hezbollah, emphasizing, “The true victor is the one who has exposed the brutal reality of the aggressor, a regime engaged in genocide—targeting civilians, destroying homes, hospitals, and entire neighborhoods. This is an occupying force that has no legitimate right to claim self-defense.”
Defending the Resistance
Concluding his remarks, MP Raad reaffirmed Hezbollah’s commitment to Lebanon’s defense, stating, “We place our trust in the will of our people, who remain steadfast in their choice of resistance. This is the reality that safeguards Lebanon’s sovereignty through the equation of the army, the people, and the resistance—a formula Lebanon can take pride in as a means of protecting its sovereignty.”
During her visit to Baabda, Morgan Ortagus voiced US support for Lebanon, linking growing American and diaspora interest to what she called “Hezbollah’s defeat by Israel.”
Trump May Keep US in UN For Power Projection & Bullying – Analyst
Donald Trump on Tuesday signed a document to stop US engagement with the United Nations Human Rights Council and continue a halt to funding for the UN Palestinian relief agency UNRWA.
US President Donald Trump is driven solely by “corporate interests and maximizing profit extraction at any cost,” Dr. Anuradha Chenoy, retired professor at the Center for Russian and Central Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, told Sputnik.
While he might slash funding and weaken United Nations functioning, Trump will likely keep the US in the organization, the pundit noted.
The US accounted for one-third of funding for the body's collective budget in 2022, reminded the analyst, adding that the country is also "part of the privileged Security Council and often uses this for US foreign policy."
President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the United States will withdraw from the top UN human rights body and will not resume funding for the UN agency helping Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA.
Offering his take on Donald Trump's recent actions targeting the United Nations and its agencies, Chenoy said:
"He has little interest in advancing international institutions or safeguarding international law and much interest in using American power to assert his personal bullying.".
Rizotto's personal note on the article below entitled "President Trump said Tuesday that Iran will be “obliterated” if it assassinates him — saying he’s drafted an order to that effect if he dies"
Apparently Trump just set himself as a huge target. There's nothing more that Netanyahu would like than getting the US to launch a war on Iran. Netanyahu has been pushing for this for decades. Now, all Netanyahu has to do is a false flag assassination of Trump, something the Mossad has plenty of experience with.
February 4, 2025
WASHINGTON — President Trump said Tuesday that Iran will be “obliterated” if it assassinates him — saying he’s drafted an order to that effect if he dies.
“If they did that, they would be obliterated. That would be the end,” Trump said in the Oval Office as he signed an order to reimpose “maximum pressure” on Tehran, including directing Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to tighten sanctions on the theocracy’s oil sales and enforce violations of existing restrictions in a bid to reduce its exports to “zero.”
“I’ve left instructions. If they do it, they get obliterated. There won’t be anything left, and they shouldn’t be able to do it. And Biden should have said that, but he never did. I don’t know why. Lack of intelligence, perhaps.”
Trump said that he was reluctantly signing the order to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
“With me, it’s very simple: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said, suggesting that the country is “too close” to developing weapons-grade uranium.
Iran allegedly has sought to assassinate Trump and various officials who served in his first administration as payback for the Trump-ordered assassination of Gen. Qasem Soleimani in 2020.
Despite the threat, Trump ordered the removal of the security details protecting former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and ex-national security adviser John Bolton.
The country’s leaders also allegedly hacked people associated with Trump in an attempt to undermine his 2024 candidacy.
Former President Joe Biden resisted bipartisan pressure to increase economic sanctions on Iran, including the country’s oil exports.
A group of 62 House members — including prominent Democrats Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell of California — last year asked Biden to fully enforce US sanctions on Iranian oil sales after those exports surged, roughly doubling annual export levels from 2019 and 2020.
“Iran now exports more than 1.4 million barrels of crude oil daily, over 80% of which goes to China. From February 2021 to October 2023, the regime has taken at least $88 billion from these illicit oil exports,” wrote the group.
“Iran is deriving significant economic benefits from pervasive sanctions evasion, with Iran’s annual economic growth increasing by more than four percent and net foreign currency reserves up by 45 percent.”
Congressional Republicans separately pleaded with Biden to cancel a sanctions waiver allowing Iraq to pay Iran for electricity, which they estimated would allow Iran access to $10 billion.
Biden in 2023 agreed to release $6 billion in frozen Iranian oil proceeds held by South Korea in exchange for the release from prison of five Iranian-Americans.
The funds were to be held by Qatar for Iran to purchase items such as food and medicine, but the US and Qatar reportedly reached a “quiet agreement” to pause distribution after Iran-backed Hamas terrorists massacred about 1,200 Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023.
Iran will respond in kind to US ‘threats’ – Khamenei
Negotiating with Washington is “neither wise, intelligent, nor honorable,” the Iranian supreme leader has said
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has warned that Tehran will respond with tat-for-tat measures to any hostile moves by the US. He also rejected the idea of talks with Washington, saying it would be “neither wise, intelligent, nor honorable.”
US President Donald Trump has reinstated his so-called “maximum pressure” policy against Iran since returning to office, accusing Tehran of seeking to develop a nuclear bomb. Washington announced more sanctions against Tehran’s oil industry on Tuesday, targeting an international network that facilitates deliveries of Iranian oil to China.
During a meeting with Iranian air force personnel in Tehran on Friday, Khamenei insisted that “the Americans sit and redraw the world map on paper – but it is only on paper, with no basis in reality.”
“They make statements about us, express opinions, and issue threats. If they threaten us, we will threaten them. If they act on those threats, we will do the same. If they undermine our nation’s security, we will undoubtedly respond in kind,” he said.
Trump stated on Wednesday that he wants to engage in talks with Tehran to reach a “verified nuclear peace agreement, which will let Iran peacefully grow and prosper.” He also insisted that reports of “the US working in conjunction with Israel… to blow Iran into smithereens are greatly exaggerated.”
However, the Iranian supreme leader cautioned against negotiating with the US government, insisting it would be “neither wise, intelligent, nor honorable.”
Tehran was “very generous” and made “concessions” during the negotiations with world powers on the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which involved Iran giving up its military nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions, he said.
“The same person who is in power now tore up the treaty,” Khamenei noted, referring to Trump unilaterally withdrawing the US from the landmark agreement during his first term in 2018.
“Negotiations with the US have no impact on solving the country’s problems. We must understand this correctly and not be misled into thinking that sitting at the negotiation table with that government will resolve certain issues. No, negotiations with the US will not solve any problems,” the 85-year-old stressed.
In an extended interview, Norman Finkelstein, the political analyst and author who has studied Palestine and Israel for decades, speaks to us about the fate facing Palestinians.
Finkelstein gives his frank views on how Israel, along with the Trump administration, will continue and accelerate its plan to ethnically cleanse Palestinians as much as they can in the area between the River Jordan and the Mediterranean Sea.
Over the course of the discussion, Finkelstein speaks about how the current ceasefire is just a temporary respite.
We discuss the feasibility of Donald Trump and Benjamin
Netenyahu’s idea to transfer the people of Gaza elsewhere, how Jordan and Egypt will react to that, what it means for broader Israeli and Arab normalisation, international law and Israel’s record of trying to evade international justice, the tenuous position of the current president of the International Court of Justice, Julia Sebutinde.
We also take in a short history of Palestinian resistance and Hamas’ historical efforts at diplomacy. And we speak about Finkelstein’s reflections over the last year on the devastation that Israel’s genocide has wreaked, his family and why he has dedicated so much of his time to studying and advocating for justice.
