Israeli occupation forces bomb a UN facility in central Gaza, killing one foreign worker and critically injuring five others.

The Government Media Office in Gaza strongly condemns the crime committed by Israeli occupation forces, which directly targeted a United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) facility in central Gaza. This attack resulted in the death of foreign staff member Marin Marinov and critical injuries to Joel Fournet and Alexander Papan, while Berthon Nicklaus, Arnold Neil, and David Petron sustained severe injuries.

US US judge transfers Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil’s case to New Jersey

A US federal judge on Wednesday transferred the case of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian activist and recent Columbia University graduate, to the state of New Jersey while maintaining a previous order preventing his deportation, Anadolu reports.
District Judge Jesse Furman ruled that the case belongs in New Jersey, not Louisiana or New York since he was transferred after his detention and was held in the southern state when his lawyer filed for his release March 9.
“At the heart of this case is the important question of whether and under what circumstances the Government may rescind a person’s lawful permanent resident status and remove him from the United States,” Furman wrote in the ruling.
“In many ways, this is indeed an exceptional case, and there is a need for careful judicial review,” he wrote.
Khalil was arrested March 8 by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents after they accosted him and his wife Noor Abdalla, who is eight months pregnant, as they returned from dinner. He was taken into custody without a warrant, and the agents withheld details about his arrest, according to footage of the arrest that was made public by his family on Friday.

The Trump administration has accused Khalil, who played a prominent role in pro-Palestinian demonstrations at the school last year, of engaging in “activities aligned with Hamas,” although no evidence has been provided.
He is currently being held at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Louisiana and is scheduled to appear before an immigration judge March 27.
Khalil said his arrest was a result of his activism for a free Palestine, calling himself a “political prisoner.”
“My arrest was a direct consequence of exercising my right to free speech as I advocated for a free Palestine and an end to the genocide in Gaza, which resumed in full force Monday night,” he wrote in a letter made public Tuesday.

Arab League urges US to press Israel to halt Gaza ceasefire violations

An emergency Arab League meeting in Cairo on Wednesday evening called on the US to pressure Israel into halting its violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, Anadolu reports.
The appeal came in a final resolution issued after the gathering of permanent delegates, convened to address Israel’s resumption of its genocide in the enclave since Tuesday.
At least 436 people were killed and over 670 others injured in renewed Israeli airstrikes in Gaza since Tuesday, shattering the ceasefire agreement that took hold in January.
The resolution urged “the US, as a guarantor of the ceasefire agreement, to compel Israel, the occupying power,” to cease breaches, fully implement all phases of the truce—brokered through Egyptian, Qatari, and American mediation—and promptly resume the second and third stages.

It also demanded Israel’s “withdrawal from all areas of the Gaza Strip, the lifting of the siege, and the immediate, unconditional, and sufficient delivery of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid without obstruction,” ensuring distribution across the territory and facilitating residents’ return to their homes, according to the Arab League statement.
Nearly 50,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 112,000 others injured in a brutal Israeli military campaign in Gaza since October 2023.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
