American journalist exposes Western media lies about the Donbass
Unlike “extremely deceptive” Western press, Russian media show diligence when it comes to “checking information to see if it's true or false,” independent US journalist and blogger who came to Russia in 2023 and traveled to Donbass, Tofurius Maximus Crane, tells Sputnik.
"When we first arrived in Donetsk, I realized how resilient everybody was," Crane explains. "I've traveled to many places in Russia and the LPR, the DPR - the flags everywhere, the patriotism. It's extremely heartwarming. How would I compare the real situation with Western media? You know, Western media doesn't report about any of this… Western media is just about control and deception."
Crane adds that while he himself “has never seen any falsehoods come out of Russian media” and notes that Western media publish articles with anonymous sources, or “sources within the government who must remain anonymous.”
The US earlier slapped sanctions on Sputnik's parent media group Rossiya Segodnya and several other Russian media companies over their purported efforts to influence the upcoming US election, allegations that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected as nonsense.
Russia previously denied running information operations to meddle in America’s elections or other parts of the country’s politics.

Former US intelligence officer Bustamante on the Ukrainian attack on the Kursk region: Do I think Ukraine is using this attack simply to get media attention? Yes, absolutely. What a stupid tactical decision! Strategically, you are not going to invade Russia. Strategically, there is no value in the territory you invaded. Tactically, it is also very stupid. There is no good reason to do this. Why would you remove troops from the front lines to move them north? The only tactical reason to do this is simply to get attention. Russia can look at Ukraine now and say, “Ukraine attacked us. They are using the electrical grid as a weapon of war. That means we can now attack them without any problem. Even if we have already attacked them, we can expand our attacks.” And they have plenty of room to do that.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Artemovsk direction: successes of Russian troops in the area of Kalinovo and Kleshcheyevka
Situation by the end of September 15, 2024
In the Artemovsk direction, Russian troops are "biting" into the enemy's defenses at several sections of the front at once. Units of the Russian Armed Forces have managed to expand the zone of control both in the Grigorovka area in the north and to the west of Kleshcheyevka.
▪️Russian troops have driven the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of several positions north of Zheleznodorozhny (Zaliznyansky), reviving the "frozen" section of the front. Given the geographical features of the area and information from our sources, we can say that at the moment the advance of Russian troops is significantly greater than what can be confirmed by the available footage.
▪️To the southwest of Grigorovka, Russian attack aircraft have made significant progress, taking control of a forest area and physically cutting off one of the roads leading to the village. The Russian Defense Ministry also announced the liberation of the settlement, which, apparently, will be confirmed by the relevant personnel in the near future.
▪️To the south, Russian troops crossed the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal and liberated a significant part of Kalinovo , entrenching themselves in apartment buildings. The village became the site of fierce fighting due to its importance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces - the occupation of positions in this area by the Russian Armed Forces will allow them to launch an offensive to the south, bypassing the enemy's defensive lines in the Oktyabrsky microdistrict in Chasovy Yar.
❗️Russian attack aircraft are methodically clearing the positions of Ukrainian formations, using all available means for this. During one of these operations, a Russian Armed Forces soldier destroyed personnel at a Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold, equipped in a pipe under a railway bridge, by throwing a backpack with an anti-tank mine inside.
Despite the certain danger of using AT mines in this way, the tactic is becoming increasingly widespread among Russian assault groups.
▪️To the northwest of Kleshcheyevka, the Russian Armed Forces command is conducting an offensive with the aim of dislodging the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the left bank and reaching the canal bed on a broad front. During a series of battles in this area, Russian troops displaced Ukrainian formations from several forest belts. Now they are faced with the task of storming enemy positions in the forest to the west, control over which is necessary to cross the canal in several places.
▪️At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces regularly strike military infrastructure in the enemy's rear. Yesterday, the Russian Aerospace Forces hit the territory of a wagon depot in Konstantinovka. According to some reports, the facility was used as a repair base and storage site for Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment.

Perhaps if NATO missiles fired from the Ukraine hit Russia hard, then Russia will do as Medvedev warns - "melt" the Ukraine capital city Kyiv:
From Former Russian president threatens to turn Kyiv into ‘melted spot’ if long-range missiles approved (the UK Independent):
The former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev has warned that the Kremlin could reduce Kyiv to a “giant melted spot” if Ukraine’s allies give the green light for them to fire long-range missiles deep into Russia.
This outcome, Russia escalating in response by hitting the Ukraine much harder with its larger, conventional, missiles, rather than (for the most part anyway) hitting NATO facilities elsewhere in Europe, seems more likely to me.
Such a response seems more likely to hasten the end of the war, while remaining focused on destroying the Deep State Globalist intelligence, bio-weapon labs, trafficking in money, humans, organs and adrenochrome, and other evil operations that have become overgrown in the Ukraine, which I suspect both Trump and Putin can agree on as necessary ... (very) nasty business but (very) needed.

Maybe someone who understands Ukraine better than I do could explain to me how being part of Russia's sphere of influence, was hard on the Ukrainian people? I can't seem to get answers anywhere.
Do you mean as part of the U. S. S. R.?
I am also still trying to figure out how it constitutes a "national identity". To a certain extent, they have a language and branch of a church. I'm not quite sure "who" they are, but, I *do* have a degree of sympathy, because it seems to me that for anyone who lives in the area, it has rarely been anything but hard.
Paradoxically, if you are Russian, then you are naming yourself for the establishment of Kiev by the Kievan Rus. This was by invitation from the Ukrainian area, because it was not a "country", because there were no laws and it was plagued by constant feuding, primarily by brothers fighting over an inheritance.
What happened during the Middle Ages was a kind of a slide, from around the 1300s there is a Jewish madness that goes around western Europe, causing a drain and bad reputation, and making their population bulk up in the east, that is, mainly in the Ukrainian region.
The geopolitics of the east pushed the Russian domain towards St. Petersburg and Moscow, while the Ukrainian and Baltic regions were scenes of conflict between them, Poland-Lithuania, and Sweden.
By the 1600s, it is nothing but a boiling cauldron of conflicts of imperial, Jewish, and Catholic maneuvers.
Finally -- I forget the name, but it was one of the Habsburgs -- was assigned to an office in Poland. However he went out and discovered he liked "Ukrainian culture" better and became a different person. I think it is based from him that there is a drive for statehood.
It is not terribly difficult to imagine the early days of the U. S. S. R. were particularly favorable to anyone, but, from what I have seen, this changes in the 1960s, and then we find for example that the majority if the infrastructure, 80% or so, that is still used by Ukraine today, was built by the Soviet system through the 1960s-80s. So with its independence, it appears to have actually stagnated.
When I look at remarks that are more racist in nature, I see something more like "aggression directed at something identified as 'other'", than anything that helps me understand the complaint, compared to for example Hamas, which is pretty clear.

The Crimean peninsula and the Ukraine east of the Dnipro River are traditionally Russian, in culture, religion and language, not Ukraine. Only because Stalin redrew the borders on internal USSR provinces to include Russian areas and Ukraine areas within the same province, which then became what is marked as the Ukraine on our maps today are those two distinct quite regions labeled as the one country of Ukraine.
Imagine:
(1) Quebec had remained a separate French speaking nation for a couple of centuries.
(2) In the 1930's U.S. President FDR had invaded and conquered all of English speaking Canada and French speaking Quebec,
(3) combining them into another U.S. state he called Canada.
(4) Then in the 1990's that U.S./Canada combination collapsed and separated again,
(5) leaving Quebec as but one province within the reconstituted nation of Canada.
(6) Then in the 2010's, the U.S. Central Intelligence and State Department installed an American puppet government in Ottawa,
(7) which proceeded to bomb, bomb, bomb Quebec, banning the French language and the Catholic religion ...
Can you imagine that the people of Quebec might be a tad pissed off?
If you can imagine the above ... then stretch your imagination a tad further:
Imagine further, in all the above imagined events, that the U.S. had been a nation of French origins, language, religion and culture, rather than primarily British origins as it actually ended up being, while the rest of what's now called Canada, outside of Quebec had always been a British crown colony (as it actually is), and imagine it was the Brits who ran the coup in the 2010's in Ottawa and who then funded and provoked the bombing and destruction of Quebec, as part of expanding their British presence north of French U.S., and if it was the French U.S. who came in in the early 2020's, to rescue their French comrades in Quebec, then I'm sure that Quebec would welcome their French comrades (and often family relations) from the south, to save them from the British Crown red coats.

EU prepares €40Bln loan for Ukraine without US involvement: FT
The Financial Times reported on Tuesday that the EU is preparing to provide up to €40 billion in new loans to Ukraine by the end of the year, moving forward without US participation.
This decision comes after a G7 plan to use frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine faltered due to opposition from Hungary, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
The EU is concerned that Hungary may block the delivery of key safeguards needed for the US to join the frozen asset scheme, prompting Brussels to consider an alternative, unilateral approach.
The new funding aims to support Ukraine's financial stability as it faces a projected $38 billion financing gap in 2025, according to Kiev and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The EU's proposal would bypass Hungary's veto by raising funds through an existing aid program that only requires majority support from member states, rather than unanimity.
Read more: US weapons shortage limits Ukraine aid despite available funds
While the original plan, which involved US participation, remains the EU's preferred option, officials are preparing to act alone if Hungary maintains its veto until after the US presidential election in November.
G7 leaders had agreed to provide a $50 billion loan to Ukraine, with the EU and U.S. each contributing $20 billion.
However, the US requires assurances that the frozen Russian assets, mainly held in Europe, will remain secured for future loan repayments.
The EU is now racing to finalize the proposal before the end of the year, as the current financial support package for Ukraine is set to expire.
The plan would include proceeds from frozen Russian assets, which generate approximately €2.5 to €3 billion annually, to help repay the loan.
Brussels hopes that Washington will still contribute, but the EU is prepared to act independently if needed.
Members of EU call for stripping Hungary of voting rights
In July, EU Parliament members asked that Hungary's right to vote in EU elections be taken away.
Prime Minister Orban "has already caused significant damage by exploiting and abusing the role of the Council Presidency," 63 MEPs said in a letter obtained by Politico and addressed to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, and European Parliament Chief Roberta Metsola.
Belgium relinquished its rotating EU Council leadership to Hungary on July 1. Ever since, Orban went on what some subbed “peace missions” to Beijing, Moscow, Kiev, and Washington.
The MEPs said that Orban “undertook several diplomatic visits," notably to visit Putin in Russia and Xi Jinping in China, during which he intentionally misrepresented his empowerments,” and called on the parliament to act accordingly.
“This requires real actions, such as suspending Hungary’s voting rights in the Council, since practice has shown that mere verbal condemnations of this situation have no effect,” they added.
As the Draconian Western-led sanctions on Russia exacerbate the economic crisis worldwide, and as Russian troops gain more ground despite the influx of military aid into Ukraine, exposing US direct involvement in bio-labs spread across Eastern Europe and the insurgence of neo-Nazi groups… How will things unfold?

It may be. What we don't know was the ship's scheduled assignment. But it is true they don't like taking chances. So, they generally don't go where a few hundred short-range, medium strength Iranian missiles can hit them, as that would be game over pretty quick. The Israeli F-16s are consistently fleeing whenever shot at, even though five SAM attacks have not actually hit the plane yet.
The Iron Dome also couldn't intercept six slow, small drones, which seem to have been enough to virtually wipe 8200 out of existence.
But, that is the other theater; here in Ukraine, they don't intercept the Kinzhal, or much else, it is just bigger and takes more hits to get rid of it.

Syrian terrorists and Ukrainian militants form ‘symbiotic relationship’ nurtured by ‘CIA connections’
Cooperation between the Ukrainian military and Syrian organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* (HTS) is hardly a surprise, says veteran international consultant and retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen.
“If we look at HTS history, formerly they were Al-Nusra [Front]*, aligned with al-Qaeda* and they were beneficiaries of Timber Sycamore weapons coming from Libya into anti Assad rebels, into Syria along with CIA training. So, there's kind of a symbiotic type of relationship,” he says, adding that there are “CIA connections on both sides.”
The objectives shared by the Syrian group and the Ukrainian militants are to “counter Russian influence” and to “weaken the Russian forces,” Rasmussen suggests.
On one hand, he explains, the US is “very upset that Russia intervened” in the Syrian conflict and dashed any hopes of their groups overthrowing the government of Bashar Assad.
On the other hand, there is the Ukrainian conflict where things do not go well for Kiev, with the latter now desperately looking for “other ways to kind of divert the attention of the Russians.”
“The conflict in Ukraine was, in my view, provoked by Western powers. Essentially it [the West] really didn't care about Ukraine at all,” Rasmussen elaborates. “The initiative was to weaken Russia and to potentially, in people's dreams, to cause an overthrow of Putin in Russia and a puppet person then [imposed] optimally, but that's not going to occur.”
According to him, there are American neocons who cling to this “fantasy,” and that he believes it is a “continuation” of Washington’s desire to create problems for Russia by ousting Assad.
“At the same time, [the US] have a desire to weaken Russia in the Ukraine area and weaken Russia overall. So, the joint concept that’s supported on both of them is to weaken Russia - is to divert forces away from things, to weaken Russia to ultimately obtain their objectives,” he speculates.

❗️ RFK Jr., Donald Trump Jr. call for direct start of US-Russian negotiations on Ukraine
Donald Trump Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. published an article in the Hill arguing for the US to start direct negotiations with Russia over Ukraine.
The aim is to avoid the risk of a global nuclear conflict, because, as the authors note, a nuclear war would mean the end of civilisation.
💬 "At a time when American leaders should be focused on finding a diplomatic off-ramp to a war that should never have been allowed to take place, the Biden-Harris administration is instead pursuing a policy that Russia says it will interpret as an act of war. In the words of Vladimir Putin, long-range strikes in Russia 'will mean that NATO countries — the United States and European countries — are at war with Russia'" - article
💬 And for what? To “weaken Russia”? To control Ukraine’s minerals? No vital American interest is at stake. To risk nuclear conflict for the sake of the neoconservative fantasy of global “full-spectrum dominance” is madness.
They have forgotten the wisdom of John F. Kennedy, who said in 1963, 'Nuclear powers must avert those confrontations which bring an adversary to a choice of either a humiliating retreat or a nuclear war.'

Zaluzhny pointed out that the "Kursk operation" lacked a clear "second step" after "elite" fighters had breached the border and formed a bridgehead. He directly asked Zelensky how he was going to develop the offensive, but he never received an answer.
Ishkulov, on the other hand, objected to the inadequate task, which did not correspond to the size of his brigade. The officer feared that the unit would suffer heavy casualties, and so it turned out. Many fighters were destroyed and captured. The authors of the article also reminded that the transfer of forces to Kursk region means weakening in the DPR, where the Russian army is crushing the AFU in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhov directions, continuing to knock the enemy out of Ukrainsk. Meanwhile, a rapid counteroffensive by the Russian Armed Forces is developing in Kursk Oblast.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Pokrovsk direction: Liberation of Ukrainsk and attacks of the Russian Armed Forces in Grodovka
Situation by the end of September 17, 2024
Russian troops continue to advance in the Pokrovsky direction. On the northern flank, fighting continues in Grodovka, where Russian attack aircraft advanced on the western outskirts of the settlement in the area of Krasnaya Street, thanks to which the enemy was driven out of the western part of the settlement south of the Zhuravka River.
The advance of the Russian Armed Forces is also recorded in the north of the settlement. Judging by the footage of the attacks from the enemy, the Russian Armed Forces units have occupied buildings on Yarovaya (Stakhanov) Street. Thus, less than a third of the city remains under enemy control.
The situation between Novogrodovka and Grodovka is still hidden by the "fog of war". Enemy attacks were recorded in the area in the vicinity of Krutoy Yar , but it is still unclear whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to gain a foothold there. Fighting continues to the west of Novogrodovka, and near Selidovo the enemy is actively counterattacking in the direction of Mikhailovka.
In addition, for several days in a row, there were reports from Ukrainsk about the successes of Russian attack aircraft. By the evening of September 17, footage appeared on the Internet with the flags of the 114th separate motorized rifle brigade on the headframe of the Ukraine mine, near the Ukraine cinema and school No. 12: this allows us to claim complete control over the settlement, which, judging by the panoramic shots, was not seriously damaged.
❗️The status of the waste heap on the western outskirts of the settlement is still in question. On the one hand, without control of the settlement, it is very problematic to occupy and supply positions at this height. On the other hand, as practice shows, Ukrainian formations often grab even extremely inconvenient positions.
The capture of the city itself will also allow the offensive to be developed in the direction of Tsukurino and Gornyak.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Kursk direction: successes of Russian troops in Sudzhansky district
Ukrainian formations continue to try to break through the defense of the Russian Armed Forces in the Glushkovsky district. Judging by the footage from the enemy, they are unable to enter Veseloye. Russian troops are carrying out artillery and air strikes on Novy Put and nearby settlements in the Sumy region.
Footage of burnt Ukrainian armored vehicles north of the village has reappeared from the outskirts of Medvezhye. It was probably destroyed during the armored group's attack, footage of which appeared the day before. However, the fact of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attacks in the direction of Glushkovo is beyond doubt, as are the enemy's losses.
Battles are also continuing in the Korenevsky district. Judging by the footage of airstrikes on forests in the Orlovka area and the Russian Defense Ministry's reports of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the same area, the enemy still retains forces on the line to continue attacks even taking into account the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces near Lyubimovka.
In the area of Malaya Loknya, Kruglenky, Orlovka and Novaya Sorochina, judging by the ongoing air and artillery strikes of the Russian Armed Forces, a high concentration of enemy forces remains. At the same time, no changes in the configuration of control zones are observed.
More and more footage of the village being cleared of the enemy is appearing from the area around the settlement of Borki, which may confirm the liberation of the village. The situation to the west of the settlement has also been clarified: according to new information, the Russian Armed Forces did not reach the outskirts of Plekhovo on September 17, and the enemy was driven out of the forest to the west of Borki.

A group of Russian drone operators turned NATO weapons against their own puppets. Our fighters captured entire belts with grenade launcher rounds for the Mk.19 AGS. A little ingenuity and the fuses from 40-mm NATO grenades migrate to RPG charges. Then they will be hung on drones and dropped on enemy infantry and equipment.

Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
The New York Times reported Thursday that the Biden administration is considering allowing Ukraine to use NATO-provided long-range precision weapons against targets deep inside Russia. Such a decision would put the world at greater risk of nuclear conflagration than at any time since the Cuban missile crisis.
At a time when American leaders should be focused on finding a diplomatic off-ramp to a war that should never have been allowed to take place, the Biden-Harris administration is instead pursuing a policy that Russia says it will interpret as an act of war. In the words of Vladimir Putin, long-range strikes in Russia “will mean that NATO countries — the United States and European countries — are at war with Russia.”
Some American analysts believe Putin is bluffing, and favor calling his bluff. As the Times reported, “‘Easing the restrictions on Western weapons will not cause Moscow to escalate,’17 former ambassadors and generals wrote in a letter to the administration this week. ‘We know this because Ukraine is already striking territory Russia considers its own — including Crimea and Kursk — with these weapons and Moscow’s response remains unchanged.’”
These analysts are mistaking restraint for weakness. In essence, they are advocating a strategy of brinksmanship. Each escalation — from HIMARS to cluster munitions to Abrams tanks to F-16s to ATACMS — draws the world closer to the brink of Armageddon. Their logic seems to be that if you goad a bear five times and it doesn’t respond, it is safe to goad him even harder a sixth time.
Such a strategy might be reasonable if the bear had no teeth. The hawks in the Biden administration seem to have forgotten that Russia is a nuclear power. They have forgotten the wisdom of John F. Kennedy, who said in 1963, “Nuclear powers must avert those confrontations which bring an adversary to a choice of either a humiliating retreat or a nuclear war.”
We should take this advice seriously. Putin has signaled numerous times that Russia would use nuclear weapons in extreme circumstances. In September 2022, Putin said, “If the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, we will without doubt use all available means to protect Russia and our people — this is not a bluff.” In March 2023, he struck a deal with Belarus to station tactical nuclear weapons there. Earlier this month, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced that Russia would be amending its nuclear doctrine in response to Western involvement in the Ukraine war.
Imagine if Russia were providing another country with missiles, training and targeting information to strike deep into American territory. The U.S. would never tolerate it. We shouldn’t expect Russia to tolerate it either.
This game of nuclear “chicken” has gone far enough. There is no remaining step between firing U.S. missiles deep into Russian territory and a nuclear exchange. We cannot get any closer to the brink than this.
And for what? To “weaken Russia”? To control Ukraine’s minerals? No vital American interest is at stake. To risk nuclear conflict for the sake of the neoconservative fantasy of global “full-spectrum dominance” is madness.
The war fever in the U.S. foreign policy establishment is at such a pitch that it is hard to tell whether they believe their own rhetoric. In last Tuesday’s debate, Vice President Kamala Harris conjured up images of Russian forces rolling across Europe. Surely she must know how absurd that is. For one thing, Russia can barely wrest a few provinces from Ukraine, which is by no means one of Europe’s great powers.
Secondly, Russia made its war aims very clear at the outset — most notably Ukrainian neutrality and a halt to NATO’s eastward expansion. Hundreds of thousands of lost lives, and hundreds of billions of dollars later, no one is better off — not Europe, not America and certainly not Ukraine.
It is past time to de-escalate this conflict. This is more important than any of the political issues our nation argues about. Nuclear war would mean the end of civilization as we know it, maybe even the end of the human species.
Former President Donald Trump has vowed to end this war, but by the time he takes office, it might be too late. We need to demand, right now, that Harris and President Biden reverse their insane war agenda and open direct negotiations with Moscow.

- Toropets is about 500 km / 310 miles (in a straight line) away from the northern Ukrainian border to the north in Russia!
Or, worse case scenario, it was an attack from a NATO country nearby! (Thanks to WEF-Bilderbergers-Biden & NeoLibs & NeoCons).
Imagine if Mexico uses super advanced Chinese drones to attack Las Vegas or Houston ... a similar ±500km/310 Miles range from the border of Mexico/USA and China openly encourages it, even bragging about it ... How would USA react if this was the case?
cheers,
