Pfizer Asks Court to Dismiss Whistleblower Lawsuit Because Government Was Aware of Fraud
Epoch Times reports:
"The lawyer representing whistleblower Brook Jackson said Pfizer is arguing the court should dismiss Jackson’s lawsuit alleging fraud in Pfizer’s COVID-19 clinical trials because the U.S. government knew about the wrongdoings but continued to do business with the vaccine maker.
A lawsuit filed by whistleblower Brook Jackson alleging Pfizer and two of its contractors manipulated data and committed other acts of fraud during Pfizer’s COVID-19 clinical trials is paused following a motion by the defendants to dismiss the case.
In an interview with The Defender, Jackson’s lawyer said Pfizer argued the lawsuit, which was filed under the False Claims Act, should be dismissed because the U.S. government knew of the wrongdoings in the clinical trials but continued to do business with the vaccine maker.
Under the False Claims Act, whistleblowers can be rewarded for confidentially disclosing fraud that results in a financial loss to the federal government.
However, a 2016 U.S. Supreme Court decision that expanded the scope of a legal principle known as “materiality” resulted in a series of federal court decisions in which fraud cases brought under the False Claims Act were dismissed.
As interpreted by the Supreme Court, if the government continued paying a contractor despite the contractor’s fraudulent activity, the fraud was not considered “material” to the contract.
Pfizer is a federal contractor because it signed multiple contracts with the U.S. government to provide COVID-19 vaccines and Paxlovid, a pill used to treat the virus.
“Pfizer claims they can get away with fraud as long as the government would write them a check despite knowing about the fraud,” attorney Robert Barnes said.
The other two defendants in the case are Ventavia Research Group, which conducted vaccine trials on behalf of Pfizer, and ICON PLC, also a Pfizer contractor.
In an attempt to strengthen the False Claims Act’s anti-retaliation provisions and install new safeguards against industry-level blacklisting of whistleblowers seeking employment, Congress in July 2021 introduced the False Claims Amendments Act of 2021.
In December 2021,"] Pfizer hired a well-connected lobbyist, Hazen Marshall, and the law firm Williams & Jensen to lobby against the bill.
Pfizer previously was heavily fined in connection with the False Claims Act. As part of a 2009 settlement, the company paid $2.3 billion in fines — the largest healthcare fraud settlement in the history of the U.S. Department of Justice — stemming from allegations of illegal marketing of off-label products not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
“Pfizer, one of the most criminally fined drug companies in the world, wants to weaken the laws that hold them accountable,” Barnes told The Defender.
Congress has taken no action on the False Claims Amendments Act since November 2021, when the bill was added to the Senate’s legislative calendar.
Barnes said the outcome of Jackson’s case against Pfizer is significant not just for his client, but also for the American public.
“This case will determine if Big Pharma can rip off the American people using a dangerous drug that harms millions without any legal remedy because they claim the government was in on the scam.”

Tour de France officials drag protesters off the road during chaotic
stage 10 Climate-crisis protest brought stage to halt 36km from finish
Magnus Cort wins after delay as Covid positives cause concern
The Guardian reports:
"Senior officials from the Tour de France organisation were seen dragging climate crisis protesters into a ditch during the 10th stage of the race from Morzine to Megève .
Despite being chained together around the neck, a small group of young protesters were dragged off the race route by tour officials. At around 36 kilometres from the finish, on a section of straight road, the protesters sat on the course and set off red flares. The stage breakaway and peloton were both halted until the road was cleared.
Tour de France 2022: Cort wins stage 10 after protests force delay – as it happened

The Tour de France organisers, ASO, declined to comment on the protest. Commentating on the scene on an in-race motorbike, Sir Bradley Wiggins told Eurosport viewers: “It really was going off. It was quite crazy. A lot of people getting quite angry, some of the directeur sportifs got out the cars, stuck a boot in.”Quote:
“Since the government doesn’t care about the climate crisis, we need to come and take over the Tour de France to refocus attention on what matters for our survival. We need to make our government react as they lead us to the slaughterhouse.
“Non-violent disruption is our last chance to be heard and avoid the worst consequences of global warming,” the group said.
The Derniere Renovation group was responsible for an interruption at the French Open tennis, when a protester jumped on to the court and tied herself to the net, wearing a T-shirt saying: “We have 1,028 days left”. In the Tour protest, they were seen wearing T-shirts stating: “We have 989 days left”.
The Tour has long been the target of protests but this took place against the backdrop of the race organisers pledging their commitment to reducing their carbon footprint. This year’s “road book”, the manual given to all those working on the race, states that the Tour is “resolutely committed to being an increasingly eco-responsible organisation.”
In 2020, during the pandemic Tour, the race was criticised by recently elected “green” mayors in some of France’s major cities. The mayor of Lyon, Gregory Doucet, described the Tour as “macho and polluting” and lacking an environmental conscience, and there have been multiple calls for the race to further reduce its carbon footprint.

The final outcome of the race itself was put into doubt when the race leader Tadej Pogacar’s UAE Emirates team were hit by two Covid‑19 positive tests, just 48 hours after all riders in the peloton were tested and declared free of the virus.
George Bennett, one of the defending champion’s key mountain support riders, and teammate Rafal Majka, both tested positive on Tuesday morning in Morzine. Bennett withdrew from the race while Majka was allowed to continue racing on the grounds that he was asymptomatic.
On Saturday another of Pogacar’s team, Vegard Stake Laengen, also tested positive and withdrew. The eight-man team with which Pogacar started in Copenhagen is now reduced to six, with Majka’s continuation uncertain.
“As per our internal protocols, Majka was tested for Covid-19 and returned a positive result this morning,” the UAE Emirates team said in a statement.
“He is asymptomatic and analysing his PCR, [we] found he had a very low risk of infectiousness, similar to the case of Bob Jungels [the AG2R Citroen rider who tested positive in Copenhagen] earlier in the race.” The Australian rider Luke Durbridge (Team BikeExchange) also tested positive and was withdrawn from the race."

Alex Mashinsky, Founder and CEO Celsius Network (CoinDesk)
Celsius Files for Chapter 11 Bankrupcty
The troubled crypto lender says its purpose for the voluntary action is to
enable a "comprehensive restructuring plan" that benefits all "stakeholders."
"Celsius Network, the crypto lender that is facing a liquidity crisis, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, Celsius said in a statement issued late Wednesday.
- “Today’s filing follows the difficult but necessary decision by Celsius last month to pause withdrawals, swaps, and transfers on its platform to stabilize its business and protect its customers. Without a pause, the acceleration of withdrawals would have allowed certain customers—those who were first to act—to be paid in full while leaving others behind to wait for Celsius to harvest value from illiquid or longer-term asset deployment activities before they receive a recovery," the statement read.
- “This is the right decision for our community and company,” said Alex Mashinsky, Celsius cofounder and CEO. “We have a strong and experienced team in place to lead Celsius through this process. I am confident that when we look back at the history of Celsius, we will see this as a defining moment, where acting with resolve and confidence served the community and strengthened the future of the company.”
- Celsius is one of the crypto lenders facing financial troubles in the latest liquidity crisis in crypto. It suspended withdrawals starting June 12, cut jobs and hired restructuring experts to advise on its financial situation.
- Celsius says it has $167 million in cash on hand, enough to "support certain operations during the restructuring process."
- The company has filed motions with the court to allow it to continue operating "in the normal course," so it can pay employees and continue benefits.
- Celsius is not requesting authority to allow customer withdrawals at this time, it said. Customer claims will be addressed through the Chapter 11 process.
Kirkland & Ellis LLP is serving as legal counsel, Centerview Partners is serving as financial adviser, and Alvarez & Marsal is serving as restructuring adviser to Celsius.

Moments ago, we announced that Celsius voluntarily filed petitions for Chapter 11 reorganization. You will be able to find the official announcement here.
Today’s filing follows the difficult but necessary decision by Celsius last month to pause withdrawals, Swap, and transfers on its platform to stabilize its business and protect its customers. THE SECRET IS OUT
"This video reveals what the Biden Administration can't hide any longer."
One of the stories that starts at 3 minutes 30 seconds in is about a new leaked video from the Uvalde school shooting. The referenced article is here:

"Moment Uvalde cops RESTRAINED colleague, whose daughter was one of 22 dead, from taking down school shooter, before 17 of them ran away from gunfire
Footage of the Uvalde police response to the shooting was leaked on Tuesday
It shows how Salvador Ramos, 18, sauntered through the halls at Robb Elementary School carrying an AR-15 as a teacher called for help
He then walked into two classrooms and fired for two and a half minutes, shooting off 100 rounds
The new video shows Sheriff's Deputy Felix Rubio in the hallway, in tears being held back by fellow officers, feet away from where his 10-year-old daughter Lexi was shot dead
The first officers arrived three minutes later, but stood back, with one seen checking his cellphone
Nothing happens until Border Patrol agents ran to the classrooms and began firing at Ramos, killing him
Two teachers and 19 children were killed in the May 24 massacre
Cowardly Uvalde policemen restrained a cop whose daughter was one of the 21 slaughtered in the horrific school massacre, leaked surveillance footage from inside the building shows.
Two officers held sheriff's deputy Felix Rubio back by his shirt as he wiped away tears while gunman Salvador Ramos went on his brutal rampage in a classroom down the hallway.
The devastated father could be seen with his hand clasped over his mouth as he feared for the life of his 10-year-old girl Lexi, who was later found dead.
One brazen officer was shown walking in front of him and pumping sanitizer from a wall mount on to his hands despite the carnage around him.
The footage, which was leaked to a local news outlet on Tuesday and mutes the sound of children screaming, shows Ramos' approach to the school, him firing on two civilians and then quickly entering the school.
A little boy appears on screen as he starts to edge around the corner but turns around and runs away when he spots the gunman.
A later segment sees armed police storm into the building and start to move down the hallway before 17 cowardly flee back the way they came and away from the 18-year-old shooter.
In total, the leaked footage shows cops stalled in the hallway for 77 minutes, checking their phones and running away from gunfire as Ramos fired more than 100 rounds at children in two classrooms.
It is the latest shame to be brought on the local officers, who were lauded as heroes immediately after the attack on May 24, before details leaked out about their true actions.
As multiple law enforcement agencies finally to engage Ramos, an officer who stays back steps across a physically restrained Rubio to use hand sanitizer.
Rubio's daughter, Alexandria Aniyah Rubio, was one of the 19 children and two teachers killed during the vicious attack. She went by Lexi and was 10.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Rubio, an Iraq war veteran, and his wife, Kimberly, became advocates for gun reform. They were with their daughter just hours before she was killed at an awards ceremony at the school.
Felix said in a tear-filled interview with CNN just days after the attack: 'All I can hope is that she's just not a number. This is enough. No one else needs to go through this. We never needed to go through this, but we are.'
The leaked video was first obtained by The Austin-American Statesman. As many had predicted, it demonstrates how police in Uvalde failed the victims and their families on that day.
During the clip, a disclaimer appears reading: 'Editor's note: The sound of children screaming has been removed. Authorities say more than 100 rounds were fired.'The footage has been the source of political debate at the highest levels with Texas. Governor Greg Abbott, Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin and Rep. Dustin Burrows, who leads the Texas House investigative committee inquiry into the shooting, calling for the release of the video.
Ramos entered the school at 11:33am, and wasn't shot dead until 12:50pm.
The gunman wasn't stopped until Border Patrol agents entered the building and shot and killed him.
Furious parents and relatives of the 19 children and two teachers murdered on May 24 are demanding to know why the 18-year-old gunman was free to continue his rampage as the officers stayed outside the classrooms.
The video begins at 11:28 am from the point of view of a camera in the Robb Elementary School parking lot.
It shows Salvador Ramos violently swerving his car around a corner and crashing into a ditch in the distance. A plume of dusty smoke emerges from the scene of the crash.
Two unknown men approach the car, Ramos responds by firing shots at the them.
The two men run for their lives, across the road and toward Robb Elementary School.
Two minutes later, a teacher is heard telling a 911 operator: 'I do not see him. I cannot see him.' The camera switches to a camera pointing at Robb Elementary School. She says: 'The kids are running. Oh my God.'
Her voice breaks in desperation as she cries: 'Oh my God.'
Shortly after that, Ramos fires off random rounds at the school from the parking lot.
The teacher instructs the students to 'get down, get in your rooms, get in your rooms.'
The camera switches again to footage captured by a witness who recorded Ramos calmly walking into the school, carrying an AR-15.
Within the same minute, the camera switches to surveillance video from inside the the hallways of Robb Elementary School.
The light beams from the doorway as Ramos enters an empty hallway.
Before getting to a corner, he stalls for a second as if to check if he's going the right way.
As he begins to disappear down a wide hallway, he drops his gun by his side to brush back his long hair en route to classrooms 111 and 112 where the massacre unfolded.
From the foreground, a young boy comes into the shot. He turns a corner and stands frozen for a few seconds. Next, loud gunfire his heard.
The boy can be seen running away, with his arms apparently flailing.
A message appears on the screen saying: 'The gunman fires his AR-15 inside two classrooms for two and a half minutes.'
Three minutes later, the first police officers arrive on the scene, three cops, two uniformed and one plain clothes charge towards the class room before crouching in the hallway as four others calmly stay back.
The four officers who stay back talk to each other. Their conversation is inaudible. One uniformed officer who stayed back looking forward at his three colleagues attempting to engage Ramos, checks his phone quickly apparently to check the time. That officer is shown to have a wallpaper showing the Marvel Universe character The Punisher.
In the wake of the nationwide Black Lives Matter protests across the country in 2020, The Punisher became a symbol for police officers nationwide as part of the Blue Lives Matter movement.
Three loud bangs are then heard.
After they hear gunfire, the two uniformed cops retreat slightly while the plain clothes officer scurries all the way to safety behind a wall, checking his clothes to see if he has been hit by volley of rounds.
One could even be seen pulling his cellphone out of his pocket, apparently to check the time. Others, the Statesman reports, sent texts and looked at floor plans as precious minutes ticked by.

A full 19 minutes after the first officers attempted to engage Ramos, the first heavy reinforcements arrive as cops with long guns, tactical gear and a ballistic shield are shown in the hallway. They remain a safe distance from Ramos.
One officer leans the shield safely against a wall.
A little over half an hour after the 911 call went in, more officers, clad in combat gear, armed with long guns and ballistic shields, pile into the hallway. They do not attempt to engage Ramos.
A picture in picture appears showing a small screen with an officers body camera illustrating the amount of officers with weapons drawn in the hallway, waiting. One officer can be seen busy scrolling on his phone in the body camera footage.
The main pictures show officers in tactical gear forming a barricade of shields in preparation for an attack by Ramos.
Ramos shoots off four more rounds, 48 minutes after first arriving at the school. There is little initial reaction from the assembled members of law enforcement. The phrase: 'Shots fired' is repeated.
There is more inaudible conversation as officers finally begin to march down the hallway toward Ramos.
One leading the way appears to be wearing civilian clothing, including shorts and a bullet proof vest. He is armed with a rifle.
The more heavily armored officers hide behind him.
An officer in civilian clothing and bullet proof vest and helmet obtains hand sanitizer from a dispenser.
After more than half an hour, other officers could be seen entering the building with ballistic shields and rifles pointed down the hallway to the classrooms where Ramos is hiding out.
Finally, officers breach the classroom and engage Ramos, quickly killing him. A full 77 minutes after the nightmare began.
Authorities have admitted there was a failure of police officers to act that day as Ramos continued his rampage. The video was expected to be released on Sunday after it is shown to the Uvalde community, Rep. Dustin Burrows tweeted on Tuesday
Prior to the release of the video, Burrows tweeted : 'The Committee will convene at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Uvalde,' Burrows wrote. 'We will meet with members of the community first, and provide them an opportunity to see the hallway video and discuss our preliminary report. Very soon thereafter, we will release both to the public.'
Rep. Burrows said the video 'would contain no graphic images or depictions of violence.
'I can tell people all day long what it is I saw, the committee can tell people all day long what we saw, but it's very different to see it for yourself,' he said. 'And we think that's important.'
He said he is committed to continuing 'to put pressure on the situation and consider all options in making sure that video gets out for the public to view.'
Officials have previously admitted that the situation could have been stopped within just three minutes after images from surveillance footage inside the school showed heavily-armed police officers holding ballistic shields and aiming their rifles down the hallway.
The image was taken at 12.04pm on May 24 - 46 minutes before Border Patrol agents entered the classroom and fatally shot Ramos, and more than half an hour after he first entered the building and started firing.

Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Chief Pete Arredondo was in charge and mistakenly thought there were no other kids alive in the room once the shooter had barricaded himself inside
The officers were stopped by police chief Pete Arredondo, who claimed the suspect had barricaded himself inside and said he needed a key to get inside.
The move to release the new footage comes after a group of parents marched through the town on Sunday night demanding accountability, as police chief Pete Arredondo remains on administrative leave.
Mayor Don McLaughlin said on Friday he backed the plans by the Texas House Special Committee to release the clips.
McLaughlin added that he hopes sharing the clips will 'bring clarity to the public,' amid increasing questions as to why Ramos wasn't stopped earlier in his rampage after the surveillance photos were released by the Austin American-Statesman last month.
Pete Arredondo, the Uvalde school district police chief, has said that he thought the gunman was barricaded inside, away from the children, and wanted more equipment for the police before they went in.
But there are now records of children calling 911 begging for help, and reports of police officers outside urging Arredondo to let them go in.
The AustinAmerican-Statesman has also previously obtained damning transcripts showing Arredondo asking for help.
Three minutes after Ramos entered the building, 11 officers were inside.
At 11:40am, seven minutes after Ramos set foot inside Robb Elementary, Arredondo called Uvalde Police Department and asked for help.
'It's an emergency right now,' he said.
'We have him in the room. He's got an AR-15. He's shot a lot.
'They need to be outside the building prepared because we don't have firepower right now. It's all pistols.'
Arredondo added: 'I don't have a radio. I need you to bring a radio for me.'
Four minutes later, at 11:44am, body camera footage picked up more shots from the gunman.
Then, at 11:52am, the photo showed the officers with a ballistic shield.
'If there's kids in there, we need to go in there,' one officer said, according to body camera transcripts.
Another responded: 'Whoever is in charge will determine that.'
Despite the officers having rifles, Arredondo insisted they find the keys to open the door.
At 12:03pm, an officer with another ballistic shield entered the school, and a third arrived two minutes later.
Around 12:20pm - 45 minutes after the attack began - Arredondo tried to speak to the gunman, and then wondered whether he could be killed from outside the classroom.
Arredondo asked if officers would consider 'popping him through the window?'
He suggested: 'Get two shooters on either side of the window? I say we breach those windows and shoot his (expletive) head off through the windows.'
At 12:46pm, Arredondo told SWAT team officers who had arrived that they should breach the classroom door if they were ready.
They did so four minutes later.Meanwhile, video shows that students and teachers were trapped inside classrooms 111 and classrooms 112 as Ramos fired consecutive rounds of ammunition on his killing spree while armed officers stood quietly in the hallway.
And a bombshell report from the Texas State University's Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training reveals 'missed opportunities to save lives.'
The report revealed that 'one officer saw the shooter outside the school but did not take action.'
The 'officer did not hear a response [on his radio] and turned to get confirmation from his supervisor,' the report details.
'When he turned back to address the suspect, the suspect had already entered the west hall exterior door at 11:33:00.'
The Mayor said last month he disputed the report's findings, and said in a statement in part, that 'it was a coach with children on the playground, not the shooter.'
Arnulfo Reyes, 45, a fourth-grade teacher at Robb Elementary School, said he does not understand why Arredondo refused to act.
Reyes revealed to NPR that he is second-cousins with school's police chief who has been blasted for holding officers back for more than an hour as Ramos locked himself inside the building with the students. He said his classroom's doorknob had been broken for at least two years - something he says Arredondo knew even though the police chief claimed he had to search for keys to enter the building.
'I wish he would have said, 'I'm going in there because that's my family,'' Reyes said. 'But he didn't.'
'There's really no excuse for 77 minutes,' he added of the time it took for Border Patrol agents to enter the elementary school and confront Ramos, who they shot dead.
During that time, Reyes said, he had to play dead for about an hour after Ramos shot him in the arm and watched as he gunned down all 11 of his students who were in the classroom that day.
Ramos later shot him again in the back, causing him to struggle to breathe.
Now, he said, he is not sure whether he will return to teaching after spending 17 years molding young minds.
In his interview with NPR, Reyes recounted how seven of his students left school early on May 24, following an awards ceremony for perfect attendance as the school year was wrapping up.
The remaining 11 students were watching a movie together when the first shots rang out, a moment he previously recounted to ABC News. None of them survived.
The 1veteran teacher said as he went to huddle under a table with the children, he turned around to see Ramos standing there - who then let off a burst of fire into the classroom, striking Reyes three times before he went on to shoot all of his students.
At one point, he said, he could hear Ramos responding to calls from the police, who remained outside for more than an hour.
Finally, officers returned to Reyes' classroom, where he said he heard them pleading with Ramos to come out. They told him they just wanted to speak with him, and that they were not going to hurt him, the teacher told ABC.
There was silence, he said, before cops finally breached the door and shot Ramos dead. By then, Reyes' 11 students had already been killed.
Parents and community members came together last weekend to demand answers in the attack, with hundreds marching through the city calling for accountability.
The Unheard Voices March and Rally started at the elementary school, with community members carrying signs reading 'Remember Their Names, and chanting 'Save Our Kids,' according to the New York Times.
Then, as they assembled at Uvalde Plaza, relatives took turns reading their loved ones' names and recounting their shattered dreams.
The march was organized by Javier Cazares, whose 9-year-old daughter, Jackie was killed in the shooting.
He said parents were demanding a detailed explanation about what happened during the police response on May 24, and demanding officials hold those at fault accountable.
Some are also calling for gun control measures to be enacted in the politically conservative state.
'We want accountability from all levels - local level, county level, state level, federal level,' said mother Tina Quintanilla-Taylor, who pulled her child out of school early that day.
On Wednesday, the committee of eight Republicans and three Democrats will hear from experts on mental health and firearm safety."

"President Joe Biden pays the Middle East a visit. But there’s controversy surrounding his trip, which comes as Beijing works to boost its influence in the region.
A successful hypersonic missile test was conducted off California’s coast, with more sophisticated testing coming later this year, as the United States and China race to develop the weapons systems.
The secretary of defense meets his Australian counterpart. Both are stressing the need for "rules-based order" in the Pacific.
Beijing is still negotiating with American regulators—trying to keep over 100 Chinese companies from getting delisted. But a top official from the Securities and Exchange Commission says he’s not convinced they’ll reach a deal."

Hunter Biden allegedly used the Naval Observatory as his hub to meet foreign political and business leaders
while Joe Biden was vice president for eight years.
Hunter Biden laptop shows dozens of meetings
with dad, business partner
The New York Post reports:
"Hunter Biden met with his father at least 30 times at the White House or the vice president’s residence, often just days after he returned home from overseas business jaunts.
The breakfasts, lunches and other gabfests between 2008 and 2016 raise questions about whether Hunter was relaying messages to his father on behalf of foreign clients, and cast new doubt on the president’s repeated denials that he had any role in his son’s shady overseas business dealings.
The meetings were found in a review of the personal calendar on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop.
https://nypost.com/wp-content/upload...8&h=410&crop=1
Eric Schwerin, the president of Hunter Biden’s investment company Rosemont Seneca Partners,
often visited the Naval Observatory for meetings with then-Vice President Joe Biden.
Eric Schwerin, the president of Hunter Biden’s investment company Rosemont Seneca Partners, is named as a calendar invite recipient on 21 of 30 listed meetings, with a green check frequently indicating his confirmed receipt of the invite for meetings with the vice president. Schwerin was a longtime Hunter Biden business confidante, and had access to the elder Biden’s personal financial information.
House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik — who has promised to subpoena Hunter Biden should Republicans win back control of Congress in the 2022 midterm elections — said it was more evidence of corruption.
“Hardly a day goes by without another revelation about how intimately involved Joe Biden was with his son Hunter Biden’s corrupt foreign business dealings. The fact that Joe was in meetings with senior foreign leaders on behalf of Hunter and his business associates while Vice President further proves that Joe has been lying to the American people,” Stefanik told The Post.
HUDDLES WITH DAD
Hunter Biden often would huddle with his dad in the days, or even minutes, after high-profile meetings.
Hunter Biden met Daniel Kablan Duncan, the Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire, on April 15, 2016 in Washington D.C., his calendar shows. The 8:15 a.m. sitdown was quickly followed by a 9 a.m. confab with Vice President Biden at the Naval Observatory. The purpose of his meeting with Kablan is unclear.
Between Feb. 15-18, 2012, Hunter Biden was wined and dined by billionaire oligarchs in Moscow, including one now wanted for murder. Four days after his return, Hunter Biden met with Vice President Biden, again at the Naval Observatory.
On Nov 14. 2015, Hunter Biden met with Romanian ambassador to the United States George Maior, before heading off for meetings in that country. He returned Nov. 17, and had breakfast with his father at the Naval Observatory two days later. Just months after the trip, he teamed up with former FBI Director Louis Freeh to help Romanian businessman Gabriel Popoviciu avoid jail time."
In another meeting with royalty, the crown prince of Yugoslavia told The Post he was hoping Hunter could put in a good word to his dad about possible help rehabbing their royal palace in Belgrade.
COLOMBIA
A March 2, 2012 entry notes a meeting with Joe Biden and Andrés Pastrana Arango, the former president of Colombia, whose business Hunter had been courting for months, emails on the laptop show.
For more than a year before the meeting with Joe Biden and Pastrana, Hunter and his Rosemont Seneca business partners had been chasing the business of OAS, a Brazilian construction company with Colombian interests which was later busted for paying bribes and rigging public contracts.
In a Feb. 7, 2011 email to Hunter Biden, his partner Mike Muldoon said a third member of the company would pitch OAS on a “20K/month fee … in order to participate” and a 5% success fee.
By July 2011, in an email to Hunter, Schwerin named a “list of projects OAS is interested in in Colombia,” adding that they should “discuss and see how we can be helpful.” Among the projects were two wastewater treatment plants estimated to $380 million and $350 million. There was also a $1.8 billion hydroelectric power plant, and a $3 billion upgrade to the Bogota subway system.
“If it works, we’ll all be rich,” Schwerin enthused to Hunter Biden in an August 2011 email. A formal contract with OAS was signed a month later and sent to Hunter in a Sept. 8, 2011 email from Fabio Tosta Gadelha Souza, an OAS project finance manager.
The company’s retainer with Hunter Biden’s investment company, Rosemont Seneca Partners, was $25,000 a month, emails show. Other emails between Hunter and Rosemont President Eric Schwerin described potential bonus from OAS if the Colombia deals panned out. Schwerin estimated their share of a 1% “success fee” on a potential billion dollar project would be $5.6 million.
A few months later, Hunter traveled to Bogota, dining with Pastrana on Nov. 2, 2011. Emails contained on the hard drive suggest Mauricio Cárdenas Santamaría, the country’s minister for mines and energy, shared the meal. That same day, Hunter also met with Catalina Crane Arango, a counselor to Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos, according to the calendar.

Then Sen. Joe Biden wholeheartedly greets then Colombian President Andres Pastrana
during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee meeting on April 17, 2002.
"The courtship continued as the months went on, the emails show.
“Dear Mr. President. I look forward to seeing you when you are in Washington. I was hoping we could meet for lunch or coffee depending upon your schedule … I’d like to discuss an opportunity that I think you have already been initially briefed regarding OAS,” Hunter Biden wrote to Pastrana in Februry 2012. “I am checking on my dad’s schedule.”
Pastrana met with Joe Biden a month later. Schwerin was also listed on the invite for the “Meet with Pres. Pastrana and Dad at NavObs,” referring to the Naval Observatory. Later the same day, Hunter scheduled a lunch with Pastrana at Cafe Milano. They were joined by Juan Esteban Orduz, the president of Colombian Coffee Federation Inc.
Pastrana seemed eager to tap into Hunter Biden’s network: other calendar entries show Hunter facilitated meetings with Pastrana, Nigerian businessman Kase Lukman Lawal, and Cesar Uzeda, international chairman of OAS.
Pastrana and Joe Biden have had a long relationship, evidenced by a tweeted photo of the two the ex-Colombian leader shared when congratulating Biden on his 2020 presidential election win. The snap shows Pastrana and Joe Biden alongside Biden’s former Senate colleague, Jesse Helms (R-North Carolina). In the caption, Pastrana called Biden “a great friend and connoisseur of our country.”
Santiago Pastrana, the ex-president’s son, told The Post, “My father has a friendship with President Biden as they worked together for Plan Colombia when my father was President of Colombia and Biden Senator and chair of the Foreign Relation Committee.”

though this information is well known to most of us ..
(notwithstanding relentless attempts to obfuscate it from a prior nefarious source, )
it was pretty satisfactory to see not one, but THREE Sources in the media reporting,
and therefore validating, Biden's involvement with his son's criminal dealings
at this point, it will be difficult to deny the media bias towards Brandon
and complicit of ALL outlets in the cover up of NATIONAL crime
which is criminal, in and of itself ...

Perhaps something was going to Jordan so it could be transported to Syria? Dunno, but it seems that all those weapons Ukr needs basically serves the wallets and bank accounts of those involved. Feckers.

China demands Biden admin cancel $108 million arms sale to Taiwan
American Military News reported today:
"The Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of National Defense demanded President Joe Biden’s administration immediately cancel an estimated $108 million arms sale to Taiwan, a Chinese state broadcaster reported on Monday, according to Reuters on Monday.
The demand comes three days after the Pentagon announced that the U.S. State Department had approved the “possible” multi-million dollar sale to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States. Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan.
“The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) has requested to buy Blanket Order Contractor Technical Assistance support consisting of unclassified spare and repair parts and assembly for tanks and combat vehicles; logistical technical assistance; U.S. Government and contractor representative technical and logistical support; and other related elements of logistical and program support,” the Pentagon said in a press released. “The estimated total cost is $108 million.”
The Pentagon asserted that the proposed sale “serves U.S. national, economic, and security interests by supporting the recipient’s continuing efforts to modernize its armed forces and to maintain a credible defensive capability.”
“The proposed sale will help improve the security of the recipient and assist in maintaining political stability, military balance, economic and progress in the region,” the Defense Department continued, adding that “there will be no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.”
The US-Taiwan Business Council said in a statement on Friday that it “welcomed” the possible sale which it said will “help Taiwan maintain its vehicles, small arms, combat weapon systems, and logistical support items.”
“The Biden Administration’s security assistance policy through 2025 will focus on sustainment and munitions. Force modernization of Taiwan’s armed forces is no longer a priority,” Council President Rupert Hammond-Chambers said in a statement.
“More information will allow us to better predict where U.S. policy will start to open up critical gaps in Taiwan’s all-phases approach to the defense of the island,” Hammond-Chambers added. “The PLA will naturally focus on these emerging vulnerabilities, as they adapt to the shortcomings of U.S. policy.”
Hammond-Chambers then once again urged the Biden administration “to provide strategic clarity on where U.S. forces will fill gaps in Taiwan’s defense brought on by these changes to U.S. policy.”
Earlier this month, China demanded the Biden administration stop all military “collusion” with Taiwan, ABC News reported.
Gen. Li Zuocheng told Gen. Mark Milley that there is “no room for compromise” on issues that impact China’s “core interests,” including Taiwan.
“China demands the U.S. … cease reversing history, cease U.S.-Taiwan military collusion and avoid impacting China-U.S. ties and stability in the Taiwan Strait,” Li said.
Li then threatened the U.S. with a “firm counterattack” in order to “resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
“If anyone creates a wanton provocation, they will be met with the firm counterattack from the Chinese people,” he added."

interestingly enough Reuters had reported some background a couple of days ago:
"The U.S. State Department has approved the potential sale of military technical assistance to Taiwan worth an estimated $108 million, the Pentagon said on Friday.
China has never renounced the use of force to bring Taiwan under its control, and the democratically governed island has complained of increased military pressure from Beijing to try and force it to accept its sovereignty.
The United States has only unofficial relations with Taipei. But U.S. law requires Washington to provide Taiwan with the means to defend itself, and President Joe Biden's administration has vowed to step up engagement with the island."
