Davos on Steroids: Ultra-secret Bilderberg Meetings commence in Portugal
There is a total media blackout of the upcoming shadowy elite confab.
Jordan Schachtel
The Bilderberg Group, a notoriously shadowy organization with a membership roster that includes some of the world’s most powerful and influential people, are convening their annual meetings this weekend in Lisbon, Portugal.
Oddly enough, there is a complete media blackout in the corporate press surrounding the upcoming conference, despite the significant geopolitical ramifications attached to its members and the agenda items being discussed. Your humble correspondent still cannot find a single story previewing the Bilderberg meetings in the corporate media.

If you’re familiar with the World Economic Forum’s annual closed-door, invite-only Davos confab, then you can get a sense of what Bilderberg entails. Yet Bilderberg is a level up of exclusivity, given that fewer than 150 people usually end up with invites to the conference, as opposed to the thousands who go to Davos. Bilderberg consists only of the very top business tycoons, royals, media influencers, and government power brokers.

Independent journalists on the ground, Charlie Skelton and Dan Dicks, believe that the meetings will take place at the 5 star Pestana Palace Hotel in Lisbon, which is noticeably unavailable for reservations this weekend.
The Bilderberg website has not been updated since 2022, but we do have confirmation that the meetings are taking place via the European Commission website, which noted it on the calendar of two of its top officials. Other than that, there is a total comms blackout concerning expected attendees.
The Bilderberg meetings have been a regular occurrence since the mid 1950s, with the inaugural meeting in 1954 at the Bilderberg Hotel in the Netherlands.
Although it is significantly staffed by publicly elected officials, the discussions that happen during Bilderberg conferences remain a closely guarded secret. Unsurprisingly, this has led many to suspect that the powerful globalist ideologues who attend these closed-door wargaming discussions are up to no good. Organizers defend the secretive nature of the conference by claiming that it allows attendees to speak informally among peers.
To get a sense of why Bilderberg conferences are often associated with conspiratorial inquiry, look no further than the roster of last year’s meeting in Washington, D.C.
The meetings included several heads of state and the world’s most powerful spy chiefs. On the American side, it included multiple Biden Administration cabinet level officials, and the likes of the CIA Director, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, Eric Schmidt of Google, Sam Altman of ChatGPT, and Peter Thiel, to name a few. On the European side, attendees included the British and French spy chiefs and NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg, among others. The topics of discussion included:
1. Geopolitical Realignments
2. NATO Challenges
3. China
4. Indo-Pacific Realignment
5. Sino-US Tech Competition
6. Russia
7. Continuity of Government and the Economy
8. Disruption of the Global Financial System
9. Disinformation
10. Energy Security and Sustainability
11. Post Pandemic Health
12. Fragmentation of Democratic Societies
13. Trade and Deglobalisation
14. Ukraine
This year’s agenda has not yet been released, and attendees have not yet been revealed. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg will be in town, but the only publicly confirmed attendees are EU commissioners Paolo Gentiloni and Didier Reynders Justice. The Dossier will be following up as soon as we gather more information.
- This Summer NATO To Approve New War Plans For Russia Conflict!
At the NATO summit in Vilnius this July, the alliance will for the first time in decades approve a classified plan for war with Russia. The plan will reportedly assign specific tasks and locations to NATO country members. Is this just another escalation...or possibly a self-fulfilling prophecy? Also today: Alan Dershowitz gets one right about the Durham Report!
Thanks for this, Mark. In my view it's a pretty clear, comprehensive and accurate overview of the conditions that Putin cites as the reasons that he feels Russia is threatened. My single, niggling update would be to note the recent name change of the city of Kaliningrad to Królewiec, its name when it was ruled by the Kingdom of Poland in the 15th and 16th centuries. As this is a direct challenge to Putin's idea of a reinstatement of the Russian Empire, he calls the act of renaming yet another hostile act instigated by the West, and so therefore yet another reason to feel that Russia is threatened.
Excepts from the Guardian:
"The Kremlin has described Poland’s decision to rename the Russian city of Kaliningrad in its official documents as a “hostile act”, as ties continue to fray over the Ukraine war.
Kaliningrad, which sits in an exclave sandwiched between Lithuania and Poland on the Baltic coast, was known by the German name of Königsberg until after the second world war, when it was annexed by the Soviet Union and renamed to honour politician Mikhail Kalinin.
On Wednesday, Poland’s development minister, Waldemar Buda, said Kaliningrad would now officially be called Królewiec, its name when it was ruled by the Kingdom of Poland in the 15th and 16th centuries.
“We do not want Russification in Poland and that is why we have decided to change the name in our native language of Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad region,” Buda said, citing a recommendation by a state commission tasked with standardising foreign names in the Polish language.
Warsaw says Kalinin’s connection to the 1940 Katyn massacre – when thousands of Polish officers were executed by Soviet forces – had negative connotations.
The current Russian name of this city is an artificial baptism unrelated to either the city or the region,” Poland’s committee on geographical standardisation said on Tuesday.
Moscow says it liberated Poland when its forces drove out Nazi forces at the end of the war. Most Poles believe the Soviet Union replaced Nazi occupation with another form of repression."

This action predictably has made the Kremlin furious.
By now, I expect most PA members are familiar with Putin's now famous article (12 July 2021) on Russian history, “On The Historical Unity Of Russians and Ukrainians”. Ironically, his claim that Ukrainians and Russians share the same blood is the same (pre-war) claim made by Zelenskyy when he called for peace between the two nations. Ironic because for Putin it's a reason to invade and destroy Ukraine.
For those who have not yet read it, it's available here in full:

This outlines his excuse to invade Ukraine, delivered as though it was based on actual historical fact. His televised (shorter ) version of it was broadcast in February 2022. It's outlined here:

The criticisms of his speech are easy to find, but here's one that is quite succinct, written by Markian Dobczansky, who is an actual expert on Ukrainian - Russian history. It was published online as a Twitter post.
His take is quite enlightening. Please see below:

Why is Putin wrong about history? Because he overlooks the historical agency of Ukrainians. The Bolsheviks didn't "invent" Ukraine out of thin air to vex the future president of Russia. Ukraine experienced its own revolution in 1917, amid war & imperial collapse.
·
The Ukrainian Revolution of 1917 combined democratic/social aspirations of Russia's February Revolution with demands for national liberation and cultural autonomy. Ukrainian peasants demanded land, cultural activists demanded Ukrainian language education, everyone wanted freedom.
·Ukrainian political leaders declared the Ukrainian People's Republic (UNR) with a Central Rada, an assembly that represented the interests of the Ukrainian people. The Rada was made up overwhelmingly of left-wing parties representing the peasantry but not only.
The Central Rada issued its declarations (known as "universals") in four languages: Ukrainian, Russian, Yiddish, and Polish. Eventually in response to a Bolshevik invasion, the Central Rada declared the independence of the UNR in January 1918.
·
In increasingly dire circumstances, the armed forces of the UNR fought variously against the Red Army, the non-Bolshevik Russian forces, and the Poles. Eventually, they lost and the Bolsheviks won. But Lenin concluded that Ukrainian aspirations were a force to be reckoned with.
The Bolsheviks were hard-nosed realists. They didn't simply give away power in a vacuum. Lenin and Stalin created a Ukrainian Soviet republic largely to co-opt Ukrainian national aspirations and channel their revolutionary energy toward Soviet aims.
Yes, they had theories about national liberation and its importance for October Revolution. But Ukrainian Revolution forced their hand and in 1922 the Soviet Union formalized its own federal structure made up of Russian federation, Ukraine, Belarus, & Transcaucasian federation.
Putin's mistake is that he only sees the actions of the people in power and perhaps only if they run a world power. He sees smaller countries (Georgia, Ukraine, even Germany and France) with contempt and does not assign them any historical agency.
His televised speech yesterday was a rehashing of historical grievances against everyone he blames for the loss of "Russian" territory over the 20th century: Lenin, NATO, the U.S. But special ire was directed against Ukraine because its very existence is for him a humiliation.
·
For a broader discussion of Ukrainian history and Ukrainian aspirations, I'd highly recommend reading this piece by Rory Finnin in Politico. Don't make Putin's mistake and think of Ukraine as "small" or Ukrainians' actions as insignificant.

My belief is that Putin is using a fantastical history as one leg of an argument to justify his invasion. Whether he actually believes it or not is up for speculation, but he has been consistent in this story for at least a decade.
The other leg of his justification is the perceived threat by the west as a conspiracy to infiltrate Russia's border countries in preparation for invasion. His decades-long campaign of tirades against NATO encroachment has culminated in his declaration of war on Ukraine. Now he gets to play the victim. Looked upon broadly, a peremptory assault is the excuse always given by an abuser in any relationship: "Look what you made me do! This is all your fault!"
In the eyes of the world, however, Putin's unleashing of ultra-violent destruction on a population of innocents is simply a war crime.
Brian
This should be 'in the eyes of the (Globalist Elite dominated) West' because the whole World doesn't see what's happening in Ukraine as a war crime - many inside and outside Western Nations understand that Russia has been provoked and poked by NATO especially since the 2014 coup and put in a position where they are damned if they do and damned if they don't try and sort out the threat to their country... the threat that comes from the unelected, Super Wealthy, West Based, Deep State who want Russia to be part of the One World Government - planned for decades -
- BOMBSHELL! Zelensky’s Pro-Russian Speech Uncovered!
Before becoming the worst thorn in the Russian bear’s paw, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was decidedly pro-Russian, during one recently resurfaced interview declaring Ukrainians and Russians “brothers” and insisting that Russian speakers in Ukraine be allowed to continue speaking their language. Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the difference a few years in power and death threats from neo-Nazi constituents can make.
