Re: Interesting Free Books in PDF

Thanks for this thread!
I downloaded them all, and added a whole bunch of my own: the whole resulting collection of more than 170 e-books can be downloaded here in a single 707 Mb zip file:
http://projectavalon.net/eBooks.zip
Notes:
- I removed Lawrence Spencer's "Alien Interview". It's a hoax.
- Some of the books are rare and hard to find -- and important. Many are of significant historical interest.
- A substantial number of the books I've been sent by others (especially in Folder 2), and I have NOT read or evaluated them.
- A few will be duplicates in different file formats.
- All files have been checked for viruses and are clean.
- In my personal view, the zip file is way more than a gold mine. Enjoy. :)

Re: Interesting Free Books in PDF
Thank you so very much Bill. It is so wonderful to get such a huge pile of good books that take up no room in my house and all for free!
I am still a fan of actual hardcopy paper books for when and if the power goes out or my hard drives are fried by an EMP or solar flare but this is a great way to read these days and no impact on the environment. (no trees died making these books!)
I love PDFs because i can make the words any size I like and do not need a special light and reading glasses to view them.
Thanks again, Stephen, New Zealand.
Very sorry to see you won't be going to France after all. I hope you weren't just jerked around by someones idea of a silly joke who had no intention of paying your fare there from the outset.
Skeptical people like me can't help but wonder. Just because I was not going to attend since I am in NZ, it still upsets me that someone might do that to you guys and girls, if indeed that is the case.

There were books from your library, I wanted to purchase but had to make other choices.
PS It doesn't fit this "Ufology, Extraterrestrial Contact" thread, but here's a pdf freebie: "Timeless Secrets of Health and Rejuvenation". It's so chock full of great information that I purchased a hard copy. (It's not your typical health book.)

Bill, do you have any direct knowledge that this was a hoax or any other reasons besides the very suspicious story Lawrence related on C2C that he 'burned' the original documents from which he copied this book from....and/or another reason besides that he also was quite a science fiction writer before producing this supposed non-fiction work?
I ask because I still found 'Airl's' explanations of human history frankly very interesting, unique and plausible in ways that tied a lot of loose ends together.
For example, no one else I've ever read proposed that the explanation for the suddenly advanced civilizations on Earth... who also disappeared as suddenly as they arrived... was due to their having been 'downloaded' with long perfected/many times used before 'software' providing the knowledge of how to build these civilizations/writings/structures. This made sense to me and seemed to make a lot of historical puzzle pieces fit.
I'm even doubting the Roswell event where Airl supposedly was from, but Lawrence's book still had a lot of missing puzzle pieces like this to me.
What are your reasons for considering this a complete hoax?
Thank you in advance, and thank you very, much for that zip.

I'm even doubting the Roswell event where Airl supposedly was from, but Lawrence's book still had a lot of missing puzzle pieces like this to me.
Sebastasoul, I have been studying the Roswell incident for many years, now, and I found precise connections in Airlīs explanations that fits perfectly with the books by Kevin D. Randle and Donald R. Schmidt. (the best investigators in the Roswell Case)
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg
I tried to "reconstruct" the events from the crash until Airl was sent to the base, and found that some witnesses in their books confirms them. Additionally I see connections with Col Philip Corsoīs book. (Another great pice in the puzzle)
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...SH20_OU01_.jpg
But if you want to be skeptic, you will find that all that was known information that any intelligent hoaxer could consult and take into account to make believable his or her work. That is the reason my main proof of authenticity (from my viewpoint) comes from a paragraph in the Bible which Airl pointed. That was the "hint" that confirmed me that it was real, connecting with the Amicizia case as told in "Mass Contact" a great book by the recently deceased italian engineer Stefano Breccia.
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...SH20_OU01_.jpg
For those of you that can read Italian, the Italian original version "Contattismi di Massa" can be downloaded for free here: http://ebookee.org/Stefano-Breccia-C...a_1596433.html
Or from here: http://www.4shared.com/office/6khaLN...tattismi_.html
This is totally new stuff that couldnīt be put together in a so perfect way, if it wouldnīt be true, again in my opinion.
Additionally I found further confirmation of the previous hint in the famous book "Passport to Magonia" by Jaques Valle, that you can find here:

Re: Interesting Free Books in PDF
Here's a link to a web portal for a number of 'contact' writings. While there are a fair number of links contained on this portal, only a few have 'free books' associated with them. Just the same, they are all available for free reading. A Great cross-section of works regarding our celestial cousins. I believe it was compiled by Wendell Stevens, but do not know this for certain. Unfortunately, not every piece is in English.
http://www.galactic-server.net/linkmap.html
a sister site with follow-up links to those provided in the main link: http://rune.galactic.to/englETdatabase.htm
This is one of the 'known' free books available (but only indirectly through the above portal)

Thank you for directing me to that link of your very detailed and lucid explanation for your reasoning. And wow, the author's scientology background and book's content connections to it were a big surprise.
I'm no defender of Scientology, but have more avoided it than I really know anything about the teachings. Since they're likely not wrong about everything, Lawrence's book now makes me cautiously curious about the dividing line, but that's a different thread.... thanks again.

Hi, All:
Here's Prodigal Genius -- a wonderful biography of Nikola Tesla that was written in 1944 by John J. O'Neill, who had known the great man personally.
http://projectavalon.net/Tesla/Prodi...kola_Tesla.pdf
It was once very rare and hard to find, but was republished in 2008. A classic, and probably the most important biography of him.
It describes, among much else, his remarkable abilities, which he'd had ever since he was a child, of visualizing mechanical components so solidly and vividly that they were totally real to him... although no-one else could see what he could.
Later, he would create an entire 'mental machine' (like a motor or a generator) in his mind, leave it "running on a bench", and then come back from time to time to see if it was still going -- and if not, which parts had failed. That way, everything he ever built worked perfectly each time.
From Amazon:This book tells the fascinating story of an amazing Serbian boy, Nikola Tesla, who was born in 1856, in the area we now call Bosnia. The author explains how Tesla's accomplishments brought forth our modern electrical power era and provide the foundation for the industrial system on which the entire world is built.
Tesla's mother could repeat, without error or omission, thousands of verses of the national poetry of her country. Tesla shared her retentive memory. He had another ability that he only revealed to his mother. If Tesla thought of an object, it would appear before him exhibiting the appearance of solidity and massiveness. He used this ability to visualize the solution to creating the first alternating current generator.
The first time Tesla's ability to visualize helped him in his quest to develop an alternating current generator, occurred when he suggested to a college professor that alternating current would solve some of the problems with a piece of electrical equipment that could be used either to generate electricity or if supplied energy could operate as a motor.
As his professor demonstrated the machine, the solution to the problem came to Tesla in such a vivid, illuminating flash of understanding that he knew his visualization contained the correct and practical answer. He saw both the equipment operating without the problems and doing so efficiently, however, he could not see the essential details of how this could be accomplished.
In February of 1882, Tesla took a walk in the city of Budapest with a former classmate. While a glorious sunset overspread the sky, Tesla engaged in one of his favorite hobbies - reciting poetry. The setting sun reminded Tesla of some of Goethe's beautiful lines:The glow retreats, done is the day of toil;
It yonder hastes, new fields of life exploring;
Ah, that no wing can lift me from the soil,
Upon its track to follow, follow soaring...
Suddenly, Tesla snapped into a rigid pose as if he had fallen into a trance. "Watch me!" he said, "Watch me reverse it!"
Tesla's friend said: "I see nothing. Are you ill?"
"You don't understand," said Tesla, "It's my alternating-current motor I'm talking about. Can't you see it right here in front of me, running almost silently? It's the rotating magnetic field that does it. See how the magnetic field rotates and drags the armature around with it? Isn't it beautiful? I have solved the problem..."

This book was just suggested to me:
http://archive.org/details/theory_le..._0911_librivox
The Theory of the Leisure Class, by Thorstein Veblen (1857-1929).
Originally published by the Norwegian-American economist Thorstein Veblen while he was a professor at the University of Chicago in 1898, the Theory of the Leisure Class is considered one of the great works of economics as well as the first detailed critique of consumerism. In the book, Veblen argues that economic life is driven not by notions of utility, but by social vestiges from pre-historic times. [Summary modified from Wikipedia.]

Hi, All:
Here (4.6 Mb, zipped) is E.E. 'Doc' Smith's famous LENSMAN series of books.
http://projectavalon.net/THE_LENSMAN_SERIES.zip
Doc Smith was one of the greatest (and earliest) science fiction writers. The tremendous, beautifully crafted Lensman stories contain a huge amount of truth about what's really going on out there.
Of some interest to Avalonians may be that I know the person who is certain they were Smith in their last lifetime, and has full recall of Smith's life. (In this lifetime, this person is a highly talented psychic.)
Enjoy. I'll continue to post more books as I come across them.

The link below gives a list of some UFOs books which are avaliable to view or download. The classic book by Capt Edward Ruppelt's "Report of Undentified Flying Objects" published in 1956. Captain Rupplet was the original head of the USAF Project Blue Book. The book itself gives insight into the mind set of the day and some interesting UFO encounters, some of these encounters have now been released via the Freedom of Information Act, including the famous Twining memo. But there still remains many military encounters involving aircraft which have not surfaced. Another interesting book is Advanced Aerial Devices Reported During the Korean War by Richard Haines.
