oh, my God, not again...the large dark shadow is the shadow of the station's comm tower. the three guys are looking up to the Moon or the station's wind turbine whitch is in the same direction. the large white planet is the Moon. the smaller blue one is the Moon's reflecion on the lens. the "explosions" are lamps. what else? everithing he says is false.
just look it up on the wiki or anywhere on the internet, 5 minutes and you will know everything about the Neumayer Station. sorry, but this guy is out of his mind.

My first thought was to check GMaps to see if I could see the orientation of the station from a satellite view. Surprise, surprise! at the co-ordinates given, (70°39'S, 08°15'W) there is ... nothing but ice! I would love to know more.

OK Ursuadams might be a bit weird, but the video is authentic . All anyone has to do is go to the Webcams at Neumayer-Station and see for yourself. Of course the pictures and videos are open to interpretation and anyone can read into them what they want. The point is that Ursu's videos cannot be debunked based on authenticity only on interpretation.
By the way how can anyone deny that there are strange things going on in the sky at the South Pole ? Oh and another thing, when have you ever seen the moon casting a shadow ?!!
On another topic, it seems that the Space Shuttle Atlantis has been having 'computer problems'. Two of their 5 computers have crashed so far, they still have another 3 to operate on. I can't get Ed Dames out of mind though. Things have been going wrong with this last space flight since before it took off. Here's the link to NASA's space shuttle status report.

the full Moon can be surprisingly bright, I grew up far from the big cities and sometimes we could read a book at night - just for fun, maybe one page - and we had not any more light than the light of the Moon.

the video is authentic and shows very little 'anomaly' that isn't man-made out of paranoia and lack of common sense. no offense to you, but that guy was REACHING FAR
so many of the 'light phenomena' could have just been flood lighting turned on at different points of the night for different purposes, and its just... its too much speculation posing as fact.. i'm sorry... but.... really.... no....

After stepping through the photos on the Neumayer Station website, on 2011-07-15 GMC at 17:30:04 through 18:30:02, I saw the "orb" that looks like a planet in other photos actually in front of the station. My thought is that it's a reflection of some sort through the camera lens. I also realized that the ground shadow comes through on 2011-07-16 GMT at 02:40:03, 05:20:03, and 06:00:03 ... and I agree with others that it's a shadow of the dome protecting the camera.

yeah he's way out and actually his comments annoy me quite a bit (some of his other clips are even worse. explosion, anyone? haha) but i wanted other people's take on what can be seen. i don't ususally bother with double-checking and going into details such as 'could it possibly be the moon at this time or this must be a lense flare because...' so i let others come to conclusions based on proof they found and take the one that suits me best :o

The gray item is based on the image of the moon posted earlier in this thread. The blue item above it is based on the image of the 'real' moon below it. I did a few simple things (resize, adjust hue,saturation,brightness,contrast,opacity,blur) to make it look like the blue object in the video. I never added anything, but I did remove the leftmost portion to match the blue object.
I don't think he added that in later, but I did it because the blue image I made looks essentially the same as the blue object in the video, which can't be anything other than a reflection of our moon.

Hi Bitworm - if it is a reflection of the real moon are you saying it's something that's not at all unusual when viewed through special binoculars?
And what is it being reflected off?

It's not the binoculars alone, it's the combination of the binoculars and the camera lens that's causing the effect. The blue object is a reflection from the original source, through the binoculars, to the lens of the camera and back onto the glass on the eyepiece side of the binoculars. The camera is recording the reflection that is on the eyepiece side of the binoculars.
I'm not sure why blue, but I'm guessing something about the coating on one or more of the lenses involved is filtering. It's notable that blue/violet is complementary to orange/yellow, and the actual colors of the objects appear to lie somewhere along those lines.
He moves the binoculars around and the reflection stays the same distance from the yellow light, and seems to make a big deal of it. But when the camera is fixed against the eyepiece of the binoculars while he's moving the binoculars, of course it is gonna keep the same distance. It is only when he holds the binoculars still and moves the camera does the blue object change its position relative to the yellow light.
EDIT:
I also just noticed by bringing down the brightness and up the contrast, the brightest object is not a perfect circle. I did a 'paint bucket fill' with a solid color at a very low threshold, then did the same with the original blue object. By flipping the blue one horizontally and rotating 45 deg CCW, the bright object and the blue object take roughly the same shape. The other orange light in the bottom of the frame is also roughly the same shape as the bright one.
