Of course, the head of Polish MFA is no other than Radek Sikorski, husband of Anne Applebaum, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and also a board member of the National Endowment for Democracy.
And of course, who could forget his diplomatic blunder when he Tweeted "Thank you USA" when they blew up Nord Stream.

Trying to create a run on a currency is a classic textbook move made by the US when they are seeking regime change.
Relatively few understand that the EU was a Washington construct so they could assert control over this region via their Atlanticists inside Brussels. This was primarily to justify the ongoing existence of NATO and ensure there was no Russian German integration.

The FT finally admitting that economic sanctions on Russia have been a complete failure (which was immensely predictable, in fact I wrote an article saying it'd be the case in May 2022: https://tabletmag.com/sections/news/...ssia-sanctions).
It is without a doubt one of the most significant economic stories of the century, starkly demonstrating the West's diminishing power. Despite Bruno Le Maire, France's Minister of the Economy, claiming the West would "cause the collapse of the Russian economy," Russia's economic growth in 2023 surpassed that of all G7 countries—almost quadrupling France's growth rate—and is projected to continue this trend in 2024 (see attached FT graph). It's nothing short of extraordinary.
As Vladimir Putin is quoted as saying in the FT article, "Russia’s economy had not only withstood an onslaught of sanctions from western countries — but [is] now bigger than all but two of them." (!)
It is also yet another proof, if need be, of Western hubris, of the West living in a glorious mental universe where they think they can bring the rest of the world to heel. This proves the immense - tectonic size - gap between what they believe and reality. It shows that whilst they think they inhabit a world in which they lead, we've in fact fully entered the multipolar era.
In almost all his movies, Will Ferrell essentially always plays a version of the same character: that of the uber-confident guy who isn't aware he's in fact a complete loser. It's absolutely hilarious (I love Will Ferrell movies!) but also on a more serious level a commentary on the tragedy of self-deception. There's a subtle layer of pathos in his characters' inability to see themselves as they truly are, on the fine line between confidence and delusion. And it's all the more tragic and much less funny if it happens on the scale of entire countries...
It also obviously raises the question of China, whose economy is six times the size of Russia's in PPP terms and 20% larger than that of the U.S.. What happened with Russia demonstrates, clearly, that they now command more economic power than the West. It was a form of tug of war with the West saying we'll “cause the collapse of the Russian economy” and China saying "we don't want to." And the result is the Russian economy didn't collapse, it grew faster than the West (and so did China's). That means something...
In conclusion, it is imperative for the West to confront reality and shed its old colonialist worldview. Time and time again now, the West emerges as the principal victim of its own delusions, the global Will Ferrell. Everything points to the fact that the rest of the world is more attuned to the realities in place, and when your actions are based on a humble assessment of the truth rather than on hubris, the outcome is better, it's that simple. When reality keeps punching you in the face, at some point you need to wake up.

The Ukrainian government has reportedly informed the White House about its plans to fire the country's top military commander General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. The reported ouster comes after several clashes between Zaluzhnyi and Ukrainian President Zelensky, with latest one on mobilisations of troops. The Ukrainian Commander proposed call up for half a million troops, a move that Zelensky opposes. Zaluzhnyi is overseeing Ukraine's war against Russia.

Russia condemns Ecuador over decision to hand Russian military hardware to US for Ukraine - RIA
MOSCOW, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Russia's foreign ministry on Friday condemned a decision by Ecuador to hand over Russian-made military hardware to the United States for use in Ukraine as a "reckless" breach of contract, the RIA news agency reported.
The Ecuadorean government said last month it would take up an offer from Washington to swap what it called "Ukrainian and Russian scrap metal" for advanced U.S. equipment worth $200 million.

The United States has said the arms it gets from Ecuador will be sent to Ukraine to help bolster its forces on the battlefield against Russia.
Maria Zakharova, the Russian foreign ministry's spokeswoman, told RIA that Ecuador's decision was made under pressure from external forces.
"Such a reckless decision was taken by the Ecuadorian side under serious pressure from outside interested parties," she said.

"Our partners are well aware of the provisions of the contracts, which include an obligation to use the supplied equipment for the stated purposes and not to transfer it to a third party without obtaining the relevant agreement of the Russian side."
Authorities in Ecuador have said that Moscow had advised against the hardware swap, but that they believed they had the right to do it anyway.

Top UN court says it has jurisdiction in Ukraine genocide case
The top court of the United Nations, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), ruled Friday that it has jurisdiction in a case brought by Ukraine that accuses Russia of genocide and disputes a claim of genocide invoked by Moscow against Kyiv.
The court at the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands, tossed out a number of Russia’s objections to the case, ruling that there is a dispute over alleged violations of the genocide convention and it has jurisdiction to oversee the case.
But judges also decided against taking up whether Russia has committed genocide by invading Ukraine.
The ICJ ruled in favor of Russia on two matters: It would not decide whether Russia’s nearly 2-year-old invasion of Ukraine violates two articles of the genocide convention and that Russia’s recognition of the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk are also violations of the genocide convention.
“It is not the convention that the Russian Federation would have violated but the relevant rules of international law applicable to the recognition of states and the use of force,” ICJ President Joan Donoghue said.
However, the court said it was admissible for Ukraine’s request to move forward on a ruling that Kyiv did not commit genocide in two eastern regions of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk, which it has accused Russia of using as a pretext to invade.
The ICJ handily dismissed a number of Russian objections to dismissing the case at large, as Moscow claimed the court did not have jurisdiction.
“It is not sufficient for the applicant to claim an alleged violation of the treaty and for the respondent to contest it. It must be ascertained whether the actions or omissions of the respondent complained of by the applicant fall within the scope of the treaty allegedly violated,” Donoghue said. “In other words, whether the facts of issue, if established, are capable of constituting violations of obligations under the treaty.”
Ukraine filed the ICJ case just days after Russia invaded the country in February 2022, sparking the largest land war in Europe since World War II and an ongoing conflict. Ukrainian soldiers and Russian-backed separatists have also fought in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions since 2014, which is at the center of this case.
Separately, the ICJ this week dismissed most of Ukraine’s terrorism case against Russia, which was filed in 2017 and accused Moscow of violating a United Nations anti-terrorism treaty by funding separatists in eastern Ukraine.
In that case, the court did rule that Russia violated its requirement to investigate the issue but declined Ukraine’s request for reparations and only said it must investigate the issue.
It also said Russia failed to protect the Ukrainian language in schools after annexing the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine in 2014.
ICJ rulings are legally binding, but the court cannot enforce them. It can appeal to the U.N. Security Council, but permanent members like Russia have veto power there.
The ICJ in a preliminary ruling said Russia must halt its invasion of Ukraine, but Moscow dismissed the order.
A final ruling in the case could take years. The ICJ has never ruled an entire country has committed genocide before, though it is hearing other cases on the issue, including a dispute between South Africa and Israel over the war in Gaza.

'Monstrous Terrorist Act': Kremlin Slams Ukrainian Bombing of Bakery in LPR 6 hours ago
https://cdn1.img.sputnikglobe.com/im...b7adb.jpg.webp
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov condemned the recent bloody attack on a bakery in the city of Lisichansk in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) as a "monstrous terrorist act" conducted by the Ukrainian military.
On February 3, the Kiev regime bombed a bakery that was filled with people, completely destroying the building and leaving approximately 40 civilians trapped beneath the rubble. This horrendous act resulted in the death of at least 28 individuals, one of whom was a child, while 10 others sustained injuries.
"It is impossible to call it anything other than an act of terrorism. The relentless attacks on civilian infrastructure, such as a bakery in this case, are monstrous terrorist acts ... To ensure that there are no more of them, the special military operation carries on," Peskov told reporters.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have morphed into a terrorist organization, specifically targeting innocent civilians. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also maintained that the Kiev regime, seeking to showcase its achievements to its Western backers, consistently perpetrates acts of terrorism against Russian civilians.

Scott Ritter: How the Chechen miracle kick-started the Russian ‘Path of Redemption’ 4 Feb, 2024
In my recent visit, I met with people who once fought a bitter war against Moscow, but are now the country’s fiercest defenders
https://mf.b37mrtl.ru/files/2024.02/...07518b24e.jpeg
Over the course of 24 days – from December 28 to January 20 – I was able to take in the sights and sounds of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, as these two cities celebrated both the New Year and Russian Orthodox Christmas (I also got to experience the freezing cold of the Russian winter, which was very much part of the experience!)
I viewed my winter sojourn in Russia as an extension of the journey I began in May 2023, when I embarked on a mission of trying to discover the country's essence in a manner that could be made discernible to my fellow Americans as sort of an antidote to the poison of Russophobia. The combined experiences of observing the Christmas Eve service hosted by Kirill, the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in the center of Moscow and watching Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker performed live in St. Petersburg’s renowned Mikhailosky Theatre on Christmas Day, January 7, helped ground me in the importance of family and culture in the lives of the Russian people.
Russia’s mettle, however, can't be measured by its social and cultural accomplishments alone. The true test of a people comes only when the foundation of their society is threatened, and the nation is called upon to rally together in its collective defense. Amidst all the holiday celebration and fanfare that I witnessed there lurked an underlying reality that Russia was very much a nation at war. This war was defined in the mindset of those people I met not so much in terms of a Russian-Ukrainian conflict as it was an existential struggle between Russia and the collective West – led by the US – in which Ukraine is being used as a proxy.
