An astonishing interview — not for the content, but the skill, courtesy and tact with which
Judge Napolitano discusses the war with
Matt VanDyke. The way he handles this is exemplary, despite his strong personal opinion about VanDyke's participation as a mercenary
.
VanDyke is an American fighting for Ukraine, wearing a Ukrainian uniform. Scott Ritter, who holds VanDyke in contempt (as do I, I have to say), predicted he would die. But it seems he's not dead yet.
Napolitano asks all the perfect questions, opting with quite some discipline NOT to respond to some of VanDyke's stated absurdities. (Such as it was the absence of US funding which led to the fall of Avdeyevka.)
And VanDyke, despite having survived his ongoing ordeal at the front lines so far, is clearly demoralized. This is highly recommended, simply for the human condition aspect of all this. The video title is a gentle play on words, as VanDyke is indeed (somehow!) still alive.

:bump:
Forgive me, but I'm taking the unusual action of almost immediately bumping my own post. This is an extraordinary interview.
Matt VanDyke may be a great personal friend, neighbor, father, husband or son. But he's so sincerely deluded (and mentally and emotionally blindfolded) about political and geopolitical realities that the entire thing serves as a perfect microcosmic case study of the enormous problem we have in the west regarding propaganda and the deliberately generated mistaken beliefs among even very decent people in the populace.
The YouTube comments are worth reading, btw. VanDyke is excoriated, with hundreds of viewers not nearly as generous as I tried quite hard to be above. Napolitano himself thanked him most sincerely at the conclusion of the interview, in a way that I'm certain I could never have brought myself to do if I had been in his position.
Do watch this, if you have time. It's half an hour long, but it's really quite an education about the whole human condition.

Russia secures ‘Victory’ in Donetsk 22 Feb, 2024
Moscow’s forces have liberated the settlement of Pobeda (Victory), also defeating several Ukrainian formations in the area
Moscow’s forces have liberated the settlement of Pobeda near the capital of Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to a battlefield update published by the Defense Ministry on Thursday.
In addition to capturing Pobeda – whose name translates as ‘Victory’ – Russian troops have also improved their positions along the front line in Donetsk, defeating Ukrainian formations near the villages of Novomikhailovka and Krasnohorivka, the ministry said.
The battles resulted in heavy casualties for Ukraine, according to the report, which claimed Kiev lost over 410 servicemen, as well as a range of military hardware, including Western-supplied systems.
The Russian military also said it had destroyed the launcher and transport-loading vehicle of a US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile system, along with other Ukrainian military equipment and manpower in 114 regions.
Last week, Moscow announced the capture of the key Donbass stronghold of Avdeevka, which had served as a pivotal fortress for Kiev since the early stages of the conflict.
After months of immense pressure from Russian forces, the Ukrainian military ordered its troops to withdraw from the town on Friday, explaining that the retreat was meant to avoid heavy casualties.
The Russian Defense Ministry, however, stated that Ukrainian forces had started fleeing a day before the official order came through. It shared drone footage purporting to show large groups of Ukrainian servicemen escaping the town on foot while leaving behind heavy equipment.
Moscow has estimated that Kiev lost over 1,500 troops during the retreat, and abandoned wounded soldiers, military hardware, and equipment.

Who owns the lands of Ukraine for 2024 - suddenly someone forgot.
This post is a pretty important operational principle here.
Then you can see through it to Nazis in all countries like the U. S., disguising themselves as "Ukrainian volunteers".
Many of them were converted to Bodies rigged with explosives. Most of the wounded were simply executed at gunpoint and turned into booby traps.
It leads to such gruesome statistics as Irretrievable Losses 377,000 outnumber the amount of active duty personnel.
Expectations by Belarus of a Polish false flag terrorist act.
Now, like Bakhmut:

As we see, the defenders are definitely now falling into an impenetrable hedgehog that Russia simply cannot overcome.
What it actually means is:
Russian forces eliminated 145 servicemen, five infantry vehicles, two M113 armoured personnel carriers, 26 motor vehicles, one M777 artillery system in the Avdiivka area.
I, personally, have never seen a loster cause than--anyone who fights with Russia.

❗️Kiev prepares to surrender Kharkov region: almost all reconstruction money has been taken away from the region
In the social networks of the Ministry of Development, Kharkov region was the first to receive funds: 993 million UAH were to be allocated for the reconstruction of the region. However, the map was later updated and only 1 million UAH was left for Kharkov region.
None of the oblasts has a smaller amount, except Sumy and Kherson oblasts, which will receive no subsidy at all," writes Ukropa Fresh. According to the new map, the Lvov region (424 million UAH) and the Dnepropetrovsk region (341 million UAH) will receive the most.
We would like to point out that the entire Kharkov region has been declared evacuated and the active removal of archives and industrial equipment from the regional centre has begun.
