Putin's SPIEF speech showcases stamina and strategy, say Western analysts
Sputnik has asked three Western ‘wise men’ who watched Vladimir Putin’s speech at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday what they have to say about the style and substance of the Russian president’s remarks.
💬 “Avoid the substance of what he said. Let's focus on the subliminal message. Number one, Putin was able to speak for over three hours,” former CIA analyst-turned independent political and security affairs observer Larry Johnson said. “Compare and contrast that with Joe Biden. Biden's lucky if he can speak 10 minutes without running out of breath and falling asleep, number one, or nodding off or asking somebody for ice cream.”
💬 “Putin gave an excellent summary of Russia's victory in Ukraine, that is inevitable, the development of Russia's lands and economy and the attraction of skilled workers, and the ultimate defeat of the West, which I think can be best characterized as that classic scene from Ben Hur when Charlton Heston is racing in a chariot against his Roman competitor, and the Roman competitor's chariot falls apart and crumbles as he gets trampled under the horse hooves,” said Scott Bennet, an ex-US State Department counterterrorism analyst-turned independent political commentator.
💬 “The ending was fantastic. The ending was Russia is going to be the capital of the multipolar harmonic world,” said Pepe Escobar, roving correspondent, geopolitical analyst and Sputnik contributor.
“He introduced a very Chinese concept of harmony in the whole thing, which is totally anti-war, anti-warmongering and anti what the collective West has been doing. And considering that the collective West threw everything that they had against Russia and Russia now is the fourth largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity, proves that he's on to something,” Escobar suggested.

🇺🇦🇷🇺Western aid has not yet had a decisive effect at the front, Russia will continue to advance, - New York Times.
▪️The arrival of Western aid has made it easier for Ukraine to defend its positions, but has not yet had a decisive effect, analysts say.
Russia has maintained a significant advantage in manpower and firepower and will likely remain on the offensive for much of the year, says Rob Lee, a senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute's Eurasia Program. http://t.me/RVvoenkor

‼️🇷🇺The “Dome” system protects Donetsk from enemy raids
▪️More and more often, the enemy attacks Donetsk with UAV strikes.
▪️To protect the rear, the FSB Directorate for the DPR took over and created the “Dome” system last October, covering Donetsk from drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reports A. Sladkov.
▪️By the way, it included specialists from other departments, but it was the security officers who developed and manage it.
▪️In 7 months, “Dome” prevented 18,000 Ukrainian unmanned raids on Donetsk. The downed drones tried to deliver more than 400 kg of explosives to the capital of the DPR for detonation.

Russia will win – Putin
The Ukraine conflict will end on Moscow’s terms, the president has said
Peace talks are based on either victory or defeat, and Russia intends to win, President Vladimir Putin said on Friday, when asked about the Ukraine conflict.
Putin’s comments came during a question-and-answer panel at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). Stating that the leadership in Kiev is illegitimate and that the West cannot be trusted, the Russian leader said this will not get in Moscow’s way.
“All negotiations are based on either military defeat, or military victory. Of course, we will win,” Putin said.
Moscow is open to negotiations, Putin repeated, but it needs to be able to trust the people on the other side and be offered conditions that are in its interest. Peace talks can’t be based on “fantasies,” he added.
Putin was referring to the admissions by former leaders of Germany and France about the Minsk peace process, which ostensibly sought to resolve the dispute in Donbass which began in 2014. The West was merely stalling for time, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande said in December 2022.
READ MORE: West will remove Zelensky – Kremlin
Putin also reminded the SPIEF audience that Vladimir Zelensky can’t be considered the president of Ukraine, as his term legally expired last month. The Ukrainian constitution is clear on extending the parliament’s mandate in case of emergencies, but says nothing about presidential terms. Zelensky’s claim to power is therefore illegitimate, Putin concluded, implying that Russia will have to find someone else to deal with.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has prepared and submitted to its foreign missions a summary of the most significant violations of international humanitarian law by the Kiev military in Jan-Mar 2024
The document includes the statistics on shelling, casualties and deaths of civilians in the Russian territories ("old" and "new") near the frontline.
Over the first three months in 2024, Ukrainian forces launched at least 22,000 munitions (nearly 250 a day or about 10 every hour) targeting exclusively civilian facilities located near the frontline in the Russian territory.
The overwhelming majority of munitions that killed and maimed civilians were made in the West and supplied by the Ramstein Group and NATO.

Maria Zakharova, 7 June
💬 On June 2, it was 10 years since the Kiev regime committed a monstrous crime against the civilian population of Lugansk.
The city center then, in 2014, was hit by a SU-25 attack aircraft of the 299th tactical aviation brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result of a deliberate and deliberate attack with cluster munitions on the square named after the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War, a playground and the building of the regional administration, eight people were killed, about thirty were injured.
It was a demonstrative massacre of innocent people. The Kiev regime and those who brought it to power then needed it in order to sow panic among local residents, intimidate them, show what will be done to them and how they will live if they do not obey the will of the Kiev regime that illegally came to power.
This act of aggression, like other bloody war crimes committed by the Kiev regime, has no statute of limitations and will never be forgotten.
The Lugansk People's Republic defended its right to self-determination, the right to freely speak its native Russian language, observe its traditions and honour its true heroes who gave their lives for the liberation of humanity from fascism. Today, the republic is an integral part of the Russian Federation and, together with all our people, continues to fight for security, independence, justice, and historical memory.
🇲🇽🇳🇮 Mexico and Nicaragua will not participate in the Ukraine conference in Switzerland, the Russian newspaper Izvestiya reported.
“Mexico will not attend the event. Our country is in favor of peace, so we expect that there will soon be an opportunity to hold talks in which both sides of the conflict will participate,” the Mexican embassy in Russia told the newspaper.
Nicaragua called the conference in Switzerland on Ukraine a “political farce” and also refused to attend.
“Nicaragua has never participated and will not participate in this political farce, which has no goal of finding a path to peace, but only the goal of presenting Russia with yet another ultimatum,” the foreign ministry of the Latin American country said.
Argentine President Javier Milei will also not participate in the conference as he would like to be in Argentina for national holidays on June 17 and 20, Argentine newspaper La Nacion reported.
🇻🇦🇷🇺 - Pope Francis will go to a conference on Ukraine in Switzerland only if Russia is invited, said Leonid Sevastyanov, chairman of the World Union of Old Believers (WBU), who is in contact with him.
“The Pope said that he would go to the conference only if Russia was invited to it” - said Sevastyanov.
Switzerland will hold a conference on Ukraine on June 15-16 near the city of Lucerne. Russia will not attend it. At the same time, about 160 countries were invited to the meeting.
Ambassador in Bern Sergei Garmonin said that Russia will not participate in any format in the conference on Ukraine in Switzerland, the purpose of which is to present an ultimatum to Moscow.

Russia slams US for peddling ‘pseudo-peace conference’ while fueling Ukraine proxy inferno
Washington needs to decide whether it is “for peace,” or intent on fueling the proxy “inferno” in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said. Pointing to the new military aid package unveiled by the Biden administration while simultaneously press-ganging countries to attend the so-called peace conference in Switzerland, Zakharova remarked:
“Well, sorry, but either you are in favor of the peace conference – and I am now addressing Washington – or you keep on ramping up the arms supplies. There’s no such thing as being for peace, while pouring fuel on this terrible inferno of carnage.”
"Russians are basically everywhere, they are in space, they are in cyber, they are in Africa, they are in the Arctic, they are in the Atlantic ocean, so they are everywhere, trying to create strategic dilemmas for the alliance" — Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Bauer
Yes, so what Bauer. How about that viral meme that shows a map of US bases circling (everywhere in) the world: "Look how close they put their country to our military bases." These NATO wafflers do provide some amusement, sometimes.

⚡️⚡️⚡️"He's A Pawn": Klaus Schwab Makes a Chilling Revelation About Zelensky to Russian Prankers
The leader of the Kiev regime, Zelensky, is necessary for the West solely as a "pawn" in achieving its goals in the fight against Russia. This statement was made by the president of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Klaus Schwab, during a conversation with pranksters Vovan and Lexus.
"We need to use Zelensky and tell him that he will get what he wants, weapons and access to the EU, only if he supports our democratic principles," said the president of the Davos Forum to the pranksters, thinking he was speaking with the famous French economist Jacques Attali.
He added that no one is planning to admit Ukraine to the European Union, but "the prospects for this need to be maintained." Schwab concluded that Zelensky is a "pawn" for the collective West and is needed solely as a puppet to achieve goals in the confrontation with Russia.
The English version of Schwab's full conversation with the pranksters will be available here soon
Here it is, saved in the library, in our WEF directory:
Jacques Attali - I believe former adviser to Francoise Hollande - it should be remembered is the execrable creature that declared openly on French television 10 years ago that World War 3 would start in Ukraine.

Fico urged European voters to support politicians who oppose the escalating conflict in Ukraine.
"As prime minister of Slovakia, I will not drag the country into military adventures and I will do everything within our small Slovak capabilities to ensure that peace takes precedence over war," he said.
