Ukraine issues first permits for the exhumation of the remains of the WWII Volyn massacre, Polish PM Tusk announces.
Poland previously accused the Ukrainian authorities of delaying the search for victims.
The massacre occurred between 1943-45 when Ukrainian Nazis - led by Kiev regime's national hero Stepan Bandera - massacred at least 50,000 Poles in ethnic cleansing rampage across historically Polish territory.

Training camp or escape route? Ukrainian soldiers desert from army base in Poland
Around 10% of Ukrainian soldiers sent to Poland for training vanish before completing the program, an anonymous Polish army source told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP).
They think the soldiers come with escape in mind. “It’s much easier to sign up for training abroad than to risk crossing the border illegally,” the source said, adding that Poland doesn’t bother tracking down the deserters.
Some of the deserters even leave letters behind, though they keep their reasons to themselves.
DGP estimates that about 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers deserted while in Poland, which has trained 13,000 to 14,000 troops under the EU's EUMAM mission.
Over 1,700 troops from Ukraine's 155th Mechanized Brigade, part of which received training and military equipment in France with great fanfare, deserted before reaching the battlefront

134 BILLION euros sent to Ukraine by EU so far
EU Commission Chief von der Leyen proudly totals up just how much cash Brussels has handed over, claiming support will remain ‘steadfast’.
At the same time, it is worth noting that Western aid sent to Ukraine has a tendency to burn away like in the right pic…

Putin awards corporal from Yakutia after hand-to-hand combat with enemy today
https://topcor.ru/uploads/posts/2025...-grigorev.webp
On January 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree conferring the title Hero of the Russian Federation on Corporal Andrei Grigoryev. This was reported in a publication on the Kremlin website.
It should be noted that the 36-year-old Russian serviceman from Yakutia with the call sign "Tuta" was awarded after a tough hand-to-hand fight with the enemy during the SVO in Ukraine.
"For courage and heroism demonstrated in the performance of military duty, award the title Hero of the Russian Federation to Corporal Andrei Nikolaevich Grigoriev"
– is explained in the text of the Decree signed by the head of state.
It should be noted that the aforementioned fighter from the 39th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces became famous after the publication of footage of a brutal hand-to-hand fight with a Ukrainian soldier, from which the Russian emerged victorious, on the Internet. In the footage, the Russian and Ukrainian fighters engage in a fierce firefight at close range, which flows into an equally brutal hand-to-hand fight using knives and improvised means. In the end, the mortally wounded enemy soldier asks the Russian to let him die in peace. The video was filmed from a helmet-mounted camera of a Ukrainian attack aircraft during the battle for Trudovoye and will not be provided for ethical reasons. However, anyone can find it on the Internet.

Ukraine admits that the city of Kurakhovo in the DPR has come under the control of the Russian Armed Forces today
The city of Kurakhovo in the DPR has completely come under the control of the Russian military. This was reported by the analytical resource Deep State, affiliated with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. It is worth noting that the official Kyiv authorities have still not acknowledged the obvious.
Let us recall that the Russian Defense Ministry officially announced the liberation of Kurakhovo on January 6. It was emphasized that Russian troops in the battle for the city defeated the Ukrainian garrison, which consisted of 25 battalions with a total of 15 thousand people.
It is worth noting that the Deep State resource has been regularly signaling in the last few days about the difficulties that the Kyiv regime's militants are experiencing in other areas in the zone of the Russian Federation's special military operation. In particular, it has been reported that the Russian Armed Forces are advancing in the vicinity of Pokrovsk and that Russian Aerospace Forces are striking targets in the Dnipropetrovsk region with UMPK aerial bombs. But Kyiv prefers to ignore these signals.
Meanwhile, as Western military experts also predict, after the fall of Pokrovsk, the Russian army will advance in the Dnepropetrovsk region, pursuing the goal of depriving Ukraine of its largest region in terms of industry.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast is named as another probable direction of offensive actions by the Russian Armed Forces. However, the crossing of the Dnieper in Kherson Oblast, which many officers of the Ukrainian army predict, is assessed by experts as unlikely.

What, exactly, was Denmark defending? I thought it had been insulated by NATO for 70 years. In any case, they apparently can be credited with a remarkably Fascist government, only slightly disguised by scarves and Christmas cookies.

Denmark sent Trump team private messages on Greenland >
Denmark sent private messages in recent days to President-elect Trump's team expressing willingness to discuss boosting security in Greenland or increasing the U.S. military presence on the island, two sources with knowledge of the issue tell Axios.
Danish leaders are spineless, Trump was testing the waters, now Trump knows Danish leaders are very weak, he will destroy them. Trump doesn't respect weakness.
Danish leaders should have read Trump's book : "the art of the deal", at this rate Trump might be able to get Greenland for free and ask Denmark to pay compensations.

Zelensky wants elections, military is exhausted

"The video discusses Ukraine's military struggles, with exhausted forces and heavy losses. Russia is advancing on multiple fronts, nearing strategic objectives. Zelensky seeks re-election amid concerns about his legitimacy, while peace negotiations seem unlikely to succeed given the current situation."
I'd be very surprised if Zelensky was re-elected but cannot recall the names of any likely candidates. Any suggestions/predictions?
- Fico Threatens Harsh Retaliation Against Ukraine, Stuns Brussels with Demands | World News | ET Now:
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has intensified tensions with Ukraine, accusing President Volodymyr Zelensky of jeopardizing Slovakia and the EU by halting Russian gas transit. Fico has threatened severe retaliatory actions, including cutting humanitarian aid, reducing refugee benefits, and suspending emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine. He also suggested that Slovakia may use its veto power within the EU to block decisions that benefit Kyiv. Fico’s position aligns with Hungary's criticism of Ukraine’s energy policies and underscores the growing divisions within the European Union, with consequences that extend beyond economic concerns into the geopolitical realm.
