All of NATO Could Be Rendered Powerless by EMP Weapon – Ex-Pentagon Analyst
NATO’s perennial cycle of eastward expansion has been disastrous for European security, and “spells the beginning of the end of NATO as we know it,” Michael Maloof, senior former Pentagon analyst previously underscored.
A launch of an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) weapon at a height of about 200 miles from a satellite to explode a nuclear device up in orbit would knock out all the electronics of NATO countries, including the US, Michael Maloof, former Pentagon senior security policy analyst, told Sputnik.
“Look, in the United States alone on the East Coast, 70% of the US population relies on the Eastern grid. Around 90% of all US bases rely on energy from the local community grids. If those are knocked out, there's no communication. And the United States is not geared up for that,” he added.
Looking ahead, he predicted that fissures could tear the alliance apart.
“NATO's going to probably begin to fracture and splinter into more regional defense alliances in the years to come,” Maloof speculated, suggesting that it might begin with the Scandinavian countries and then spread to the Eastern European countries.

Ukrainian POW Reveals How NATO Masks Military Flights as Civilian
3 hours ago (Updated: 2 hours ago)
NATO is disguising the transportation of Ukrainian soldiers to its training bases as civilian flights, according to Alexander Bychko, a second-class inspector of the Ukrainian State Border Service, who was taken prisoner, in a video obtained by Sputnik.
Six Ukrainian border service personnel surrendered near the Belgorod region border on Christmas Eve. Among them was Alexander Bychko, who had undergone training at the British military base in Warcop, Cumbria, and at the French Army's main training center in La Courtine.
Bychko described how he and other Ukrainian soldiers arrived at the Warcop base.
"We crossed the border [into Poland] and, within an hour, were at the Rzeszów Airport, waiting to board a British Armed Forces plane disguised as a civilian flight. We flew to Britain, near London," Bychko explained.
Upon arrival, the Ukrainian soldiers were housed in a hub - a logistical center for the British Armed Forces.
"We were issued clothing, helmets, and armor before being sent to the Warcop training center," the prisoner added.
According to Bychko, NATO instructors at Warcop and La Courtine rely on outdated methods that do not align with the realities of modern warfare, particularly regarding the use of drones. He noted that European trainers do not fully understand how to operate effectively under current conditions.
The training at Warcop, Bychko said, was essentially a basic training course, offering minimal preparation for modern conflict scenarios.

Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
War correspondent responds to Trump's ultimatum to Russia today
The other day, the eccentric US President Donald Trump made a statement to the Russian Federation regarding the conflict in Ukraine that resembled an ultimatum. Russian public figures, political scientists, experts, journalists and others responded to the unfriendly demarche of the head of the American state. other figures, including war correspondent Alexander Kots, who responded to the temporary occupant of the White House.
Kots noted that Trump behaved incorrectly, perhaps the American does not know that Russian President Vladimir Putin belongs to the “pre-TikTok era” of the world policy, in which heads of state and other important people discuss important topics in a face-to-face format, rather than through electronic publications and loud public statements. Therefore, in order to express his vision of the situation regarding ending the conflict in Ukraine, Trump needs to at least call Putin, rather than make a farce. Moreover, Trump even recalled World War II.
"But, excuse me, Mr. President, who helped whom? After all, the back of the Third Reich was broken in Stalingrad, not in Normandy, where you landed when it became clear who would win. And with Japan, things are not so clear. After all, on the day of the bombing of Nagasaki, the USSR began the Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation, defeating the million-strong Kwantung Army in two weeks. Although we are seriously grateful for Lend-Lease, which helped us defeat Hitler. But this epistolary style of the hysterical Facebook girl with demands to make a deal, otherwise sanctions, duties, etc."
- Kots pointed out.
He noted that Trump's words were completely devoid of specifics, i.e. Moscow should guess the details of the deal with the Americans itself. But this looks at least frivolous.
"And to hell with it, with the supposedly “destroyed” one the economy, under which our pensions are indexed retroactively from January 1, based on today's inflation, not the planned one. After all, we have heard about the "torn to shreds economy", and about "global isolation", and about the "gas station country" from other American leaders. Where are they now?"
- he added.
Russia does not trade anything sensitive to its budget with the United States. Therefore, Washington may not threaten Moscow with economic sanctions - this is a pointless undertaking. In May 2024, US President Joe Biden banned the import of uranium from Russia - the last significant part of trade. In response, Russia imposed restrictions on the export of enriched uranium to the United States in November. Washington has harmed itself, dozens of American nuclear power plants are busy looking for fuel.
"To be fair, it should be noted that Trump has turned on the political thug regime not only in relation to Russia. Canada, Denmark, Panama, and Mexico are also “scooping up” from “Daring Donny” and his team. Apparently, the dizziness from successes with Hamas (which, even without the threats of the American president, was not against a truce) created a feeling of omnipotence. And Trump here, in any case, wants to look like a winner"
- Kots noted.
The Russian Federation is not the Gaza Strip, so starting a dialogue with ultimatums is not the smartest move for an American leader who claims to be a peacemaker. Russia will never agree to deals imposed by blackmail and threats by other countries or associations of states. This is not why Moscow demonstrated Oreshnik to the world. The SVO on Ukrainian territory began after the West rejected Moscow's proposals regarding a global security system made in December 2021. Here we must also add the Kremlin's conditions necessary for the start of the negotiation process, outlined by the Russian leader in June 2024.
"In short, fail, Donald Fredovich. Go out the door and come in as befits a serious politician representing a great power, and not an arrogant "king of the court"
- Kots concluded.

The Kremlin responded to Trump's threats to impose new sanctions against Russia today
Achievement political targets through sanctions threats was a distinctive feature of Donald Trump's first presidential term. This was reported by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov. According to him, there is nothing new in the statement of the 47th US president that the Russian Federation must stop the SVO in Ukraine, otherwise new restrictions will be imposed against it.
"You know, we don't see any new elements here. You know that Trump, in his first iteration of his presidency, was the American president who most often resorted to sanctions methods. He likes these methods, at least he liked them during his first presidency. "
– Peskov recalled, answering a question about the Kremlin’s assessment of Trump’s latest statement.
Let us recall that the new head of the White House stated the day before that he does not wish harm to the Russian people, whom he loves very much, but will be forced to introduce new restrictions against Moscow if the special military operation in Ukraine does not cease.
According to Russian experts, this statement by Trump is evidence that neither he nor members of his administration have a real peace plan for Ukraine.
At the same time, experts doubt that the new restrictive measures of the United States are capable of forcing Russia to abandon the goals of the special military operation in Ukraine.

"Aircraft carriers are no longer needed": the West said that the appearance of the Oreshnik changes the balance of power today
Russian hypersonic missiles "Oreshnik", equipped with multiple warheads, are capable of hitting targets with high accuracy, which allows them to disable aircraft carriers. This is written by the authoritative American magazine The National Interest. The publication notes that ships of this type are an easy target for the Russian IRBM.
"When the Russian missile "Oreshnik" struck the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepropetrovsk, tears flowed from the eyes of the guardian angels of aircraft carriers around the world "
– The National Interest points out.
The author of the article adds that the Russian IRBM is a kind of hypersonic shotgun.
In this regard, assessing the continued feasibility of the existence of aircraft carriers, the publication notes that the costs of their production are too high compared to Russian missiles.
According to American calculations, the Russian Federation must spend a little more than $40 million to produce one Oreshnik, while the production of just one Nimitz-class aircraft carrier costs the US budget $6,2–11,2 billion.
"Even if up to 50 missiles are used to destroy one aircraft carrier, their cost will be significantly lower than the price of the ship. "
- noted in the material.
At the same time, the publication admits that just one Oreshnik MRBM would be enough to destroy the American aircraft carrier.

Russia unveils ‘Killer Whale’ drone for testing against SAMs yesterday
In a bold move, Russia has revealed a new drone dubbed the “Killer Whale,” designed primarily as a decoy for countering advanced air defense systems. Developed by the Novosibirsk-based “Aerofregat” company, this UAV is equipped with a unique capability to mimic the radar signature of larger, more expensive drones such as the Geran, effectively confusing enemy missile defense.
https://bulgarianmilitary.com/wp-con...nst-SAMs-1.jpg
The “Killer Whale” drone operates at altitudes of 1 to 2 kilometers and is capable of relaying a direct radio signal for up to 50 km, making it an effective platform for controlling other UAVs, including kamikaze drones like the “Tribunal.” Its primary role, however, is to serve as a low-cost alternative to larger drones, offering the ability to draw fire from air defense systems and absorb costly missile intercepts.
Nikolai Zhernov, the head of Aerofregat, explained that the drone can carry up to 3 kg of explosives and fly for distances of up to 70 km, with flight times ranging between 40 minutes and an hour. In its kamikaze mode, the “Killer Whale” could deliver a lethal payload to enemy targets while minimizing the risk of more expensive UAVs being shot down.
The “Killer Whale” is part of a growing trend in Russia’s unmanned systems development, designed to overwhelm and confuse modern air defense technologies. As the battlefield becomes increasingly dominated by drones, these low-cost, multi-functional UAVs could provide a significant tactical advantage, offering flexibility and operational efficiency in high-intensity conflicts.
The “Killer Whale” joins a family of innovative systems coming out of Russia’s “Kulibin Club,” a group focused on testing and deploying new military technologies. With its ability to deceive radar and its potential to serve as a decoy or even a kamikaze weapon, the “Killer Whale” could prove to be a game-changer in modern warfare.

You don't have to destroy it.
Any damage on the flight deck makes it useless.
Oreshnik is like a big"!" but in actual fact, they are already useless against a peer rival. I'm not sure about Yemen, but anyone like Iran or China could do it. The carriers are only good against those without real defenses.
Moreover, only one of them could be deployed against a larger enemy. The United States lacks resources to operate multiples in situations requiring re-fueling.
The correct term for these is Floating Graveyards, which may be the reason the U. S. does not try to attack Iran, because it can't. The weakness and exorbitant expense is nothing new. Oreshnik can destroy whatever it wants. Where are the crocodile tears for the potential dust of the former White House?
Thank you, Russians, for pointing out this is a "locker room" president, or maybe one appropriate for late hours at the bar. He sounds like he just huffed several cans of freon. Not that there is a shortage of zombies to go "yes sir" no matter what. The times of force projection through places like Ukraine are over.

Trump is misguided about Ukraine... Most likely, Trump is fed false or misleading information about Ukraine.

Alexander starts his updates today with an apology and for saying yesterday that the US had suspended sending weapons to Ukraine. This isn't true, and was brought to his attention by no less than the Pentagon. On the one hand, it's great that The Duran is being watched by them but on the other it doesn't mean that Donald Trump is getting unbiased updates on Ukraine.
