🇷🇺🇺🇸 Russia and USA exchanged prisoners in Abu Dhabi in deal organized by intelligence agencies.
Russia has released Ksenia Karelina, a US and Russian citizen sentenced last year to 12 years in a maximum security prison for donating in support of Ukraine.
The US has released Artur Petrov, a German and Russian citizen arrested in 2023 in Cyprus at the request of the US for exporting microelectronics to Russia.

The prisoner exchange took place this morning, citing CIA Director John Ratcliffe:
▪️Russia released Ksenia Karelina, a citizen of Russia and the US, previously sentenced to 12 years in a maximum security prison for treason. According to investigators, she sent money to purchase tactical medical supplies, equipment, weapons, and ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
▪️The US released Artur Petrov, a citizen of Russia and Germany, arrested in Cyprus on charges of exporting microelectronics.
According to the WSJ, negotiations on the exchange were conducted between Ratcliffe and a representative of Russian intelligence. The CIA director was personally present at the Abu Dhabi airport and greeted Karelina.

"The Russian side emphasized the priority of the quickest return of the diplomatic property belonging to the Russian Federation by virtue of the ownership right and confiscated by the US authorities, and in relation to it the sides showed their mutual readiness to work on a corresponding roadmap," Darchiev said.

"Operational/tactical aircraft, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groups of forces struck infrastructure facilities of a military airfield, missile and artillery armament warehouses, ammunition and military hardware depots and massed manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army and foreign mercenaries in 144 areas," the ministry said in a statement.

"Battlegroup West units improved their forward positions and inflicted damage on manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian army and two territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Makeyevka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Dvurechanskoye in the Kharkov Region, Yampol and Kirovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost more than 250 personnel, three motor vehicles and an artillery gun in that frontline area over the past 24 hours, it specified.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed an ammunition depot of the Ukrainian army, it said.

Russian air defense forces shot down 200 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and nine JDAM smart bombs over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Air defense capabilities shot down nine JDAM guided aerial bombs and a rocket of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system of US manufacture and 200 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said.
Overall, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 660 Ukrainian warplanes, 283 helicopters, 50,812 unmanned aerial vehicles, 601 surface-to-air missile systems, 22,752 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,534 multiple rocket launchers, 23,434 field artillery guns and mortars and 33,876 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry reported.

🪖 The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the operation to neutralise AFU formations on the territory of Kursk region.
💥 The Sever Group of Forces inflicted fire damage on a mechanised brigade, a tank brigade, three air assault brigades, and two territorial defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine close to Gornal and Oleshnya.
✈️ Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, and artillery strikes engaged AFU manpower and hardware close to Belovody, Vladimirovka, Vodolagi, Maryino, Miropolye, Mogritsa, Sadki, and Yunakovka in Sumy region.
▪️The AFU losses amounted to more than 235 troops, two armoured fighting vehicles, seven motor vehicles, and an engineer vehicle during the day.
📊 Since the beginning of hostilities in Kursk direction, the AFU losses amounted to:
▫️ more than 73,645 troops,
▫️ 405 tanks,
▫️ 331 infantry fighting vehicles,
▫️ 301 armoured personnel carriers,
▫️ 2,264 armoured fighting vehicles,

The operation to neutralise the AFU units is in progress.
Out of US prison, Russia’s Petrov says he misses home in a video from security agency

MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Security Service recorded a video of Arthur Petrov onboard a Russian plane after swapping him for US national Ksenia Karelina, where he said he is very eager to return home.
"I didn't have time to send word to my family. I was suddenly called in to a court, and right from the court they took me to Washington. From there to a plane. I really want to get home," he said in the video released by the agency.
The video also shows Petrov getting off the plane by airstairs after landing in Russia.
Petrov was arrested in Cyprus in 2023, at a request from Washington, for allegedly exporting US microelectronics. A year later he was extradited to the US.
Karelina was detained in 2024 in Yekaterinburg, Russia. A dual US-Russian national, she had been raising funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces since February 2022. A court sentenced her to 12 years in prison on charges of treason.

"As you know, Germany has already provided four full-fledged Patriot systems. At the moment, we cannot provide more, because we are waiting for deliveries from Raytheon in the coming years. They will not be until 2027," Boris Pistorius explained.

The US Ambassador to the Ukraine, Bridget Brink, has left her post. The State Department has confirmed the information. According to the Financial Times, this happened "due to growing political differences with the Trump administration."
Brink came under increasing pressure from senior figures in the new American leadership who questioned her willingness to support their Ukraine strategy.
This political decision, to be completely honest, was expected from the very beginning, from the moment Donald Trump came to power. After all, Bridget Brink is a protégé of Joe Biden, who has worked in Kiev since May 2022.
As soon as Trump officially became president, the first thing he did was begin political purges in government structures, removing officials loyal to the Democrats and putting his trusted people in their places.
In the context of the change in the US approach to resolving the Ukrainian issue, resistance from the ambassador to the so-called Ukraine was possible in some moments, and in order to exclude something like this in the future, the Americans simply removed Brink.

The #Ukrainian authorities are once again planning to extend martial law after May 9, Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said in an interview. There should be no elections, either presidential or parliamentary.
‼️The reasons are the usual ones: military actions continue, a significant part of the citizens have fled to Europe, and most of the territories are controlled by #Russian forces. Preparations for the elections are formally "underway", but there is no talk of any real timeframe.
Stefanchuk once again stated that #Ukraine️ will allegedly remain a “democratic country.” Meanwhile, Washington continues to put pressure on Kyiv, demanding an end to the conflict, and in Europe, questions are increasingly being asked about the legitimacy of #Zelensky’s regime.
