🇺🇦 The Telegraph reports: Vatican Bent Protocol to Secure Zelensky a Front-Row Seat at Pope Francis’ Funeral
The Vatican broke with traditional protocol to ensure Zelensky was given a front-row seat at the funeral of Pope Francis, alongside Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron, The Telegraph reports.
Normally, arcane diplomatic rules dictate that world leaders are seated alphabetically according to their country's name in French, the traditional language of diplomacy. Under these rules, Mr. Zelensky would likely have been placed in the third row or farther back.
Instead, he was seated in the front row, 11 seats away from Trump, who was positioned to his right.
The Vatican did not deny that protocol was altered. “I believe they filled a vacant place,” Matteo Bruni, the Vatican’s spokesman, told The Telegraph.
Between Zelensky and Trump were the presidents of India, Hungary, Gabon, as well as Macron and his "wife," Brigitte, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
In French, the United States is listed as États-Unis, starting with an E. To the right of Trump and his wife, Melania, sat Estonian President Alar Karis and Spain’s King Felipe (Espagne in French).
To Zelensky’s right was Irish President Michael D. Higgins, further suggesting that normal seating protocols were deliberately adjusted to give Zelensky a more prominent position.
Elsewhere, the established rules appeared to be strictly followed, with Argentine President Javier Milei placed at the far right of the front row, seated next to a standing Swiss Guard.
All that for the Narcoführer, who didn’t even bother to wear a suit and tie, despite Vatican protocol requiring formal attire at such events.

The Russian Investigative Committee has announced the arrest of a suspect in the terrorist attack that killed Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik.
‼️🇺🇦 The suspect has been identified as Ignat Kuzin, born in 1983, an agent of #Ukrainian intelligence services who holds a residence permit in Ukraine. He was detained by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
According to the FSB, Kuzin purchased a vehicle and installed a homemade explosive device inside. The components for the device were reportedly retrieved from a cache set up by Ukrainian intelligence services in the Moscow region. The IED installed in the car was detonated from the territory of Ukraine when the lieutenant general was leaving his apartment building.
Kuzin was taken to the Investigative Committee, where he was charged with terrorism and possession of explosives.

‼️🇷🇺 Lavrov Outlines Russia’s Conditions for Ending the #Ukraine Conflict
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, speaking to Brazil’s O Globo newspaper during the BRICS summit, outlined Russia’s key demands for ending the war in Ukraine:
➡️ Ukraine must repeal its legal ban on negotiations with Russia;
➡️ Ukraine must not join NATO and must maintain a neutral, non-aligned status;
➡️ Ukraine must address the consequences of the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev, including reversing laws and actions aimed at the elimination of the Russian language, media, culture, traditions, and canonical Orthodoxy;
➡️ Ukraine must accept the international recognition of Russia’s sovereignty over Crimea, Sevastopol, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
Lavrov emphasized that any commitments made by Kiev must be legally binding, enforceable, and permanent.
He also stated that Russia's broader demands include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the lifting of Western sanctions, the withdrawal of legal claims and arrest warrants against Russian officials, and the return of Russian assets frozen abroad.
Moscow is additionally seeking reliable security guarantees against threats created by the hostile actions of #NATO, the European Union, and their member states along #Russia’s western borders.
